Plays of Wilton makes its home at The Foundry, a 54 seat black box theater that is wheelchair accessible. Since there are only 4 rows of seats and the theater is small and intimate, almost any seat in the main section is a good seat. The seats are next to each other, so people sit tightly in this small venue. There are some side seats sometimes, but I do not recommend, since the angle of vision to the stage is not the best. Out of all the seats in the main area, I find seat B7 to be the best. There's a pole next to it and an aisle on the other side, so this is the one seat that is almost "private". The plays are mostly LGBTQ+ themed and based. The one I went to see called 10 Naked Men was not all nude. Actors stayed clothed most of the time, but the title sure got people excited about the show....LOL.... Hunter's the nightclub was kind enough to donate red and white wine as well as water for the show, so these beverages were complementary throughout the play. There is limited parking in front and behind theater with some handicapped parking spaces. The theater opens one half hour prior to performance times. Performances are usually Wednesday through Sunday. Evening performances at 8 PM and matinees at 2 or 3 PM. As of 2024, the performances are usually : $35 General Reserved Seating $50 Premium 1st Row Seating $25 Side seating, when available

During colonial times from the early 16th century through the mid-19th century, the music of Mexico's indigenous nations were influenced by the musical styles of Spanish colonists and the African slave population to form the music now called Mariachi. After the end of the Mexican revolution in the 1920's, the government began promoting Mexican folk music as a source of national pride. It is around this time that the Mariachi costumes became elaborate taking inspiration from Jalisco charros, Mexican ranchers and cowboys. By the middle of the 20th century, mariachi music had made its way into US culture, first in California, then throughout the southwest, and eventually throughout the nation. Mariachi has now become one of the most recognizable Latin music types. Carrying the Mariachi torch in South Florida is the Mariachi Show Mexicanisimo. This musical group can be hired to perform at your private events including birthdays, weddings, and other celebrations. I was able to watch them perform at a friends milestone birthday celebration. The singers had great harmony and they can sing in both Spanish and English. They offer 30 and 50 minute performances. This group was very professional and their music and vocals was enjoyed by everyone at the party. Mariachi Show Mexicanisimo is a beautiful representation of Mexican culture.

Saw it at Marymoor Park, Kirkland WA. Coms: 1. Story line poorly developed, unclear. So much unlike Cirque Du Soleil 2. Stage design and decorations so unattractive, ugly, just a bunch of boxes 3. Costume design so unattractive, disturbing even, ugly 4. Choreography unattractive, non-existent pretty much 5. Quite boring 6. Too contemporary/new age 7. I paid 200 per ticket for second 200, row O. Tickets are outrageously expensive and totally not worth it. 8. No beauty in the show unlike their other shows Cons: 1. Always admire the acrobatics. These athletes are amazing no matter the design and choreography 2. The 2 entertainers/clowns were very funny and I'd say the only bright thing about the show. 3. Beautiful music I absolutely love Cirque Du Soleil and I'm so disappointed.

The price may be in the high range, but definitely worth it.

The Wilton Theater Factory now houses both the original 68-seat theater, now called The Mainstage, at 2304 Dixie Highway, and the new Foundry, at 2306 Dixie Highway, being a more intimate 50-seat theater. It is believed that The Wilton Theater Factory, in addition to being home of Island City Stage and Infinite Abyss Productions, will become a sought-after venue for other theatrical and entertainment productions. I've attended a good number of performances at this location by both Island City Stage and Infinite Abyss Productions prior to the expansion and renaming. Both theaters of this newly named complex are intimate and comfortable with one of the best things about them being that you can hear everything without the necessity of the performer's voices being electronically enhanced. You are also right up there so you can visually see everything. All of the performances I've seen have been first class top notch in both acting and staging. And, the plays presented here are like no other that you will find elsewhere. Many are of original works, premier first time performances and also always eclectic and unique striking in depth at social and political issues other theaters dare not even touch upon. Humorous and at times emotionally touching, everyone in their lives are forever changed. They do warn you not everyone gets a Hollywood ending! ‍ Anna, played by Anna Christine, hits the ground running and was spectacular throughout as she, along with her cast-mates, takes us along on her zombie adventure. Lip-syncing her heart out as we watch her lose friends, town folk and family as the zombie madness spreads. Nick, played by Luis Albaer was phenomenal as the troubled school jock/bad boy turned Zombie slayer who steps up to the plate --literally (baseball bat in hand) to do his best to defend his friends... bashing zombies one skull at a time. It was a delightful bloodbath! Erynn Dalton, who not only directed the shadow cast; but stars brilliantly alongside them as starlet in the making Lisa, was superb. I HIGHLY recommend seeing it while you can and supporting local artists while you're at it. I had a great time and got to meet the entire talented cast immediately after the performance. They were warm and welcoming and made me feel like family. I look forward to more performances at the Wilton Theater Factory and see more amazing performances from Erynn and her troupe of remarkable thespians .

You know you're walking into a real theater when the building itself makes you slow down for a…read moresecond and say, "Alright... this is going to be a night." Not a strip mall stage wedged between a nail salon and a frozen yogurt shop. A real theater. The kind that feels like it was built for big voices, bright lights, and the occasional crowd singing along a little too loudly after a couple of pre-show drinks. That's the first thing you notice about the Broward Center for the Performing Arts. Sitting right along the river in downtown Fort Lauderdale, the place just looks like it belongs there. Modern lines, big glass, clean design. But at the same time it still carries the charm and warmth you expect from a classic theater. It feels like a venue that was designed for nights out. Once inside, the layout works well. Sightlines are excellent. Whether you're down low or up in the higher seats, the stage is easy to see and you never feel like you're watching from a bad angle. But here's the one thing that caught us by surprise. The sound system struggles a bit when you get up into the higher seats. The speakers just don't quite reach that far with the same clarity, so the sound can come across a little muffled. Here's the pro tip. If you're sitting high, save the money and go cheaper on the ticket because the sound quality up there probably won't match what you'd expect from a premium seat anyway. The parking situation has actually improved. Getting in is easier now that they switched to the pay by plate app system. You drive in, park, handle the payment on your phone and head to the show. Simple. Leaving, however, is another story. Getting out of the parking lot after a show can feel like a bit of an adventure. This is where patience becomes part of the evening's entertainment. Give yourself time and don't expect a quick exit. We saw Darius Rucker last night, and even with the sound challenges in the higher seats, it was still a really fun night. Good music, a great crowd, and the kind of energy that makes live shows worth it every time. Here's the move if you're coming here. Go early. Grab dinner or drinks somewhere nearby. Walk over without rushing and enjoy the atmosphere around the theater. And when the show ends, don't fight the traffic. Take your time and let the crowd thin out. Do it that way and the Broward Center becomes exactly what it should be. An outstanding way to spend a Saturday night.

Oh VOLTA…read more This show is unlike any other Cirque Du Soleil show I've seen yet. This show has everything you expect from a Cirque show and more. The show has high flying aerialist and acrobats performing hoop diving, rings and even slackline. Jump ropers who go as fast as the light on the rope - and BMX riders that can perform tricks on their bikes that will leave your jaw on the ground. This show incorporates technology in the show with the lighting and use of projection on the stage to show "memories". The show is well constructed and has a great storyline behind it. The greys, the free spirits and the super elites. The costumes in this show are unique with each grouping mentioned above, as each costume has a different representation. The music in the show is great, it is something that can be listened to often and you would not know that it belong to a Cirque Du Soleil show. The Grand Chapiteau (the big top) is designed differently than the traditional colors of the big top which are usually a yellow gold and a dark blue. Volta has a grey big top tent and then they associate with lights so the tent changes colors which is neat to see at night time. The show is great for a girls night out, date night with a significant other or a day out with the kiddos. Just remember to find your free spirit.
