Abel did a transmission th350 install on my 1972 chevelle. Outstanding work, and very resonable priced.

I took my 05 G35 for oil leaks that included replacement of my valve covers and motor mounts. Abel did not do the work but his mechanic Edwin and some young kid did and when they replaced one of the valve covers they didn't connect something that caused a misfire I took it back and Abel himself diagnosed my car Abel told me his mechanic Edwin admitted to him that he crossed some wiring that cause the misfire Abel also said he had a long talk with Edwin because he didn't give his young helper when they worked on my car, so I took my car to 43s muffler on telegraph Anthony did a diagnostic and confirmed the missfire had damaged my catalytic converters due to the error done at Abel and Dons Shop It's gonna cost me $1900 I told Abel himself what damage Edwin had caused I told him I paid you $2400 it's only right that you fix my car and pay for the catalytic converters since I brought you my car in good driving conditions Abel then said he wasn't going to pay or fix my car, and to add Edwin scratched my bumper and Abel by text said he would fix my bumper. I regret ever going to this shop they messed up my 05 G35 I wish I could give a negative star to thi shop, if you read this please don't go there you will regret it. read more

Abel has been my mechanic for at least 15 years. He's always willing to go the extra mile for his customers even if it means longer days at the shop. He's honest, reliable, affordable, and does great work...never had any issues. Before there was Uber, he would get you a ride back home if your car was going to take awhile to fix, even after Uber he still would offer a ride however i would just grab my own ride so I don't take him away from his work. If you're frustrated with other mechanics giving you the run around and don't explain things to you thoroughly then come give your business to Abel, you'll have peace of mind knowing he'll take good care of you and your car. I do not recommend this place. I went here since someone who has a Honda has come here in the past. I own a Cadillac and got a "engine hot turn off AC" they said it required a new thermostat -$400. Three weeks later same message came up took it back, now it's the water pump - $300. When I picked up my car something was wrong, it was shaking and the car would rev when it was in Park, which it has never done. They tried to tell me it needed something else but I was done trusting this place. I decided to finally take it to the dealer which ended up telling me this place messed up my car's computer by incorrectly trying to reprogram which caused that shaking... computer had to be replaced. THEN I got the same message "engine hit turn off AC" dealer asked me if I am sure the thermostat was replaced because that's what is wrong with the car or they replaced it with a cheap/incorrect part so I will need to replace it all over again. They also suggested I go to Abel & Sons and attempt to get confirmation they replaced the part they charged me for or pursue legal action. read more

A family friend referred us to Abel and Sons because we wanted a second opinion after we were told by an auto place near our home in Orange, Ca that the throttle body on our car needed to get replaced. They quoted us $1400.00. Our car was inspected by Johnny at Abel and Sons in Whittier, Ca and after inspection, he said our car only needed a $90 fuse replacement!!! Dropped off my wife's Toyota Highlander for a second oil change at this facility. I specifically told the man at the counter that I wanted "conventional oil" (cheap stuff) as the car is a lease. They called me about an hour later to pick up car but the price was almost double from the previous oil change. I asked why and she stated because you said "synthetic oil" keep in mind my previous oil change notes and invoice clearly state "conventional oil please car is lease" she offered several different explanations but didn't want to hear my responses or deal with me. She resuced the price by $23.00 (from $73.00 to $50.00) with a take it or leave it attitude. Like it was my fault your employees made the mistake. I paid and left and immediately popped the hood to check the oil level. I found they left their funnel sitting inside my engine compartment!!! I would only hope this was accidental and not deliberate. She also told me to go elsewhere in the future. Trust me I had already planned to do so. I gave them their funnel back. read more
