Took my car here for an oil change. While waiting in the waiting room I hear them almost red line my engine twice in a row before they pulled it out. When a different guy came in to take my payment I asked "Why would he rev my engine like that?" He stated its to check for leaks. These guys are hacks. I was an ASE certified technician in my younger days. You don't rev an engine like that ever especially when it just had the oil put in. I will never take my car here again. There wasn't one technician over 20 years old. Bunch of little kids that don't know what they're doing. Probably caused damage to my engine. From the time I got there until the time I left all of them kept staring at me and my wife. Either they are really smoked out or don't know about making people feel comfortable in an establishment. I've been coming here for years for an oil change for a Land Rover and always call ahead for them to order the oil filter. And then one day the old Asian Man (Owner) became REALLY RUDE over the phone, like I'm wasting his time. He wants me to come in first for an inspection so he can "order the right part". Again, I've been coming here twice a year for many years. I asked what changed?? He just said "I'm busy right now". What an *SS. I had my oil changed at this shop yesterday, and as usual, the service appeared to go smoothly. I drove to San Diego with no immediate issues, although I did notice a slight burnt oil smell. It wasn't strong enough to raise concern at the time--I assumed a bit of oil had been spilled during the service. However, on my return trip, as I exited near my home, both the check engine and oil lights suddenly came on. Moments later, while stopped at a light, the engine made a loud noise and shut off completely. Thankfully, I was close enough to coast into the shop's service area. I immediately explained the situation to the manager and a mechanic named Javier. Upon inspection, they discovered that my truck had no oil and the oil drain plug was missing. At that point, the mechanic became defensive, insisting that he had double-checked the plug. I calmly responded that I didn't want to argue, but based on the evidence, I didn't believe he had secured it properly. Rather than discuss the matter constructively, he continued to argue and even told me I'd have a better chance winning an argument with the dealership (claiming they sold me a faulty truck) than with him. He ultimately told me it wasn't his problem. The manager then walked me inside, reprinted the service invoice, and acknowledged that it was likely a mistake by the employee. However, he stated that since he wasn't the one under the truck, he couldn't prove anything. Most concerning, he told me to take the issue up with the dealership, adding that the shop owner is Korean and "won't fix anything." I truly don't understand what the owner's race has to do with this situation, and that remark felt completely inappropriate and unprofessional. While the manager did his best to be courteous, he ultimately offered no solution or accountability for what appears to be a serious error on their part. He also cleared the check engine light, saying it was just a misfire. However, prior to this incident, my engine had no trouble starting, no check engine light, and no ticking or unusual noises--it ran smoothly. Now I am left with a potentially damaged engine and no clear resolution. I share this experience to caution others: mistakes can happen anywhere, but how a business handles them is what truly defines professionalism. I was recommended to this place by Jimmy at all smog- he had asked where we get our oil changes and we mentioned valvoline in Brea always professional- he mentioned that this place was better and they'll take care of us- First impressions are very important! I was greeted by Hector, I explained to him how I was referred to them by Jimmy and he said ok! Can you step out the car we have to reset service light and I said no! I usually stay in my car for the valvoline service and plus my service light wasn't on he just walked away- THEY DIDN'T DO THE WHOLE INSPECTION VALVOLINE DOES! Like check lights, break lights, turn signals.. They did however check tire pressure and refilled the window washer tank. I paid over $70 and honestly I wasn't satisfied with their service- Owner was busy walking his dog around establishment. I won't be coming back here and I'll be sure to let Jimmy know how disappointed I am on his recommendation. read more

He is trustworthy, has never once tried to upsell a service I didn't need, does repair/maintenance you ask him to do and nothing more unless he truly feels you may need it then he will call you but does't pressure. When multiple services are needed and I am on a budget he always handles safety first. Tony and his staff are respectful, they provide you the old parts to see the wear and tear. I've been here a couple times before when I worked just around the corner from the business. Yesterday I went back because I had a day off and desperately needed an oil change. This business is still just as efficient and friendly as it was 2 years ago when I last went. So glad that I'm still nearby even though i have changed jobs. I'm also glad that they haven't closed due to COVID-19. And it's nice that they don't try and upsell you on other services because all they do is oil changes and smog. Other places will tell you all these other things you need and sometimes I'm just not in the mood for that; I want an oil change and I want to get out of there so this place is perfect, see you in 5,000 miles! read more

I have faithfully come here for awhile, and have appreciated the service. This past week, however, my wife took our car in for smog check and oil change. The guy doing the oil change tried to sell her a transmission service, saying the transmission fluid was dirty. Well, I know he was LYING outright to her because about three weeks ago we'd had the transmission serviced and I KNOW FOR A FACT that it was thoroughly flushed! Just beware, if you get the wrong technician, you're likely to be cheated. It makes me sad to have to post this review, but the truth needs to be told. read more

I'm behind disappointed with my experience here, and not for the service, but for the "shadiness" they displayed today. I have been coming here to get mine and my husbands oils changes for years. I came in today for an oil change and smog check and the first gentleman quoted me one price and said that when you get a smog check it's recommended to change the air filter. I looked at the price on the screen, called my husband at work and he informed me that if the air filter is white, it's good. I had him on speaker and the gentleman heard him and he says, oh yes, yes, it's still good. After all was said and done I went to pay. The OWNER gave me my total. It was only $10 less than what the previous worker quoted me and that was including the price of the air filter he said I "needed". I asked the owner what the price of the air filter was and he stated $19.99. I said so why is the difference only 10 dollars from what the other guy quoted me with the air filter? He said I must have saw incorrectly. He reviews my order and says, oh, I was charging you $49.99 for the smock check instead of $39. Oh, a simple mistake I paid attention to. LADIES, PAY ATTENTION TO THESE GUYS! THEY CLEARLY WILL TRY TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU!!! Had I not paid attention, they would've ripped me off $30.00. I know it's not a ton of money, but thirty dollars here and thirty dollars there adds up to a pretty penny in their pocket at the end of the day.
