My first review for Abelardo's but definitely not my first time At Abelardo's. Each time I've gone I've enjoyed the food. Chips from was warm and fresh. The queso wasn't too watery or too thick. They forgot the rice and beans. Not the end of the world but we tried to call and send our daughter on her way home from work. No answer and they didn't believe my daughter and said my wife had to go back. This place is a chain without the customer service aspects of a chain. Avoid. read more

The food portions are acceptable for the price. The desert was to die for. We thought the tostadas, tortas, and large tacos didn't have the flavor we wanted. We normally come here on Tuesdays for their unbeatable taco deal but this time we came for their breakfast! It was about 10am on a Saturday and there was 1 other customer so it was nice and quiet with no wait! I ordered the "meat lovers burrito" and my son is not huge breakfast fan so he ordered a quesadilla sub birria meat (not on the menu) for like 70 cents more (ridiculously reasonable for this day and age). I had to try a bite because it sounded delicious and it absolutely was! 100% recommended! As for my burrito.... It was a monster! Easily 1.5-2lbs of deliciousness! I've been waiting for this location to open for a long time! They still have some things to finish up. But at least they are open. TV menus still have the stickers on them, random boxes around and there is a lot of dead space behind the front counter, but I imagine after a week this place will be polished up. The salsa bar isn't complete, but what is a available has great flavor and spice. Prompt service and my breakfast burrito came out fast and hot. Haven't liked everything I have had there, but I do LOVE the food here!!! Service in drive thru has always been excellent! Only have one issue...a person I have encountered several times at the front counter that I don't like dealing with; but she is young and hopefully her customer skills will get better. When your counter person acts like they don't want to be there and just wish you (the customer) would hurry up and order so they can get rid of you, it just makes u not want to come back. read more

My god this place is incredible. Didn't have crazy expectations, seemed just like a mexican fast food place but the food was amazing. I did the beef taco burrito combo for like $12 and the portion size would have been $18 at another place. The beef was seasoned perfectly and I loved the rice. Delicious food! The service is always great and the food is always made fresh. If you don't mind waiting a few minutes for fresh food, then stop through the drive through. They are more than willing to accommodate any specific needs you made want with your order and substitutions with meals are never an issue. I went to this location today in lees summit. I figure I order nachos can't go wrong. So I ordered chicken nachos. Folks Horrible is the only word I have for this order. A lot of refried bean it was jus a mess. I ask girl at window could I have my cheese on side because I really thought it was queso cheese. What should have ask is everything be on side. Order was weighed down with beans shredded chicken and qucamole too much wet stuff on top of chips. I couldn't even enjoy my dinner had to throw way. Now I know why I cook at home. read more

Abelardo's offers Mexican dishes at a late night hour. A large menu featuring burritos, enchiladas, tacos, and chips and salsa. If you are in a pinch and need a bite to eat this is the spot other than fast food. You get plenty of food for the price. Taco Tuesday special only had four tacos vs five, ordered 7 fried beef tacos - I counted before I left and count was good but when we opened them up they were chicken and not beef - still great but not what we ordered. This food here is just great as the Mexican restaurants my husband and I loved in Central California. We have been numerous times by friends and acquaintances what Mexican food places to try. All were not great. My husband happened to drive by while doing errands and decided to stop by. When I came home from work, he told me he got dinner from a new place he discovered. Honestly, I frowned and said, "I guess I will try it". He bought me a tostado and crispy tacos. After one bite of the tostado, I screamed "this is it! Finally, a place that is a good back home!" Food is GREAT. Sauces are on the thin side, but they offer 5 options. Wish they offered complimentary chips with their meals, but you can purchase chips and a bit of a thicker salsa for a reasonable price. The general menu is a bit pricey, but Taco Tuesday is a wonderful deal. Service is a bit sketchy and I've had to return to the counter on each of my last 3 visits to remind them about my order. Even on a slow weekday mid-afternoon they seem to not be able to track orders and serve/deliver in a timely fashion. The restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere, but sometimes the music is a bit loud. May have to give their drive-thru a shot, I think that gets prioritized over the counter walk in customers. The food and the good deal Taco Tuesday keeps us coming back for their fried ground beef tacos, hopefully their service will improve and catch up with their excellent high quality food. read more

I was in the mood for a breakfast burrito and ended up finding this place online. I knew they recently opened but hadn't tried them yet. Went through the drive thru and the wait was minimal. I was surprised to see the size of the burrito - large portioning to say the least. The combination of chorizo, egg, cheese, beans, and rice was perfect and honestly authentic. How! How does this place only have 4 stars! 5 STARS people!!! My husband and I moved here from Cali and finding legit Mexican food is impossible! We couldn't wait for them to open and man we were not disappointed! We tried their chorizo breakfast burrito AHHMAZING! They don't load the entire thing with potato's which is a plus! There's actual meat in there! The salsa verde is so delicious! We've also tried the deep fried tacos, Al pastor tacos, super fries, and quesadillas and everything was awesome. Not one complaint. I had finished my eggs, which were perfect, hoping she would return and I could ask for more gravy, but she never made eye contact the two times she passed our table. When she did stop by to ask if we wanted more coffee, she walked away as soon as my wife said no thank you. I started to ask for the gravy, but as soon as she heard the word "no", she was off without a backward glance. When she passed back by, I tried to make eye contact, but she kept her gaze foward and wouldn't look my way. As this is one of my favorite places, I will definitely return, but ask for a different server if seated at this ones table.

The burrito was also really good, packed full. Chose chorizo as the meat and it was very tasty. Also tried the lemon ricotta pancakes which were the perfect amount of sweet and zest. They're regular pancakes topped with a raspberry sauce and lemon zest. I would definitely come back but aim for an outdoor seat.

I had a breakfast quesadilla, came with a small side of fruit, and coffee. My bill was $24 so after tip of 22%(generous!) the bill was $30!!! THIRTY DOLLARS FOR A TORTILLA WITH SOME EGGS AND CHEESE AND A COFFEE! Sorry folks but if we don't stop paying these obviously ridiculous prices, they'll never stop. Skip this place and start really looking at menu prices because everyone is jumping on the "they'll pay anything" train!
