Very disappointed that when we meant that they didn't have the same menu as other cagneys in the area. They also put us in a side room where they had a larger party seated and it was so loud. The food was fine. But since it wasn't what we went for it was disappointing, will probably go back because it's convenient and food is decent but we were unable to get past those things for a better review. No chicken pie every day is poor planning on their part.

They have a great food. They need to update there tables that wiggle back and forth or tighten the screws. I felt like my chair was going to come apart before I sat down.,

The livermush was more delicious than expected and the biscuit was yummy with gravy making it even better. The sunny-side up eggs were also delicious but the grits were just okay. Overall, the livermush is worth trying and the food was good in general despite that the inside looking a bit outdated.

Good portion sizes of food that tastes great. Veggie omelette is chunky. Biscuit is homemade and fresh, big warm and flaky. Service is prompt, and coffee is hot. Nice casual environment for a leisurely breakfast.

Our new leashes and we drove all the way to Hanging Rock on your recommendation.

Food was ok but our server, dubbed "Flamingo Girl" because of her amazing earrings, was OUTSTANDING. Thank you for the great service and conversation. Very best to you and your little family. I'll think of you when I see my little chunk and also when I watch fall football linebackers.

    Soooo much food.

What a find!!! Amazing food, great diner atmosphere and friendly service. Biscuits and gravy are awesome with southern hospitality.

We came here about 10:30am on a Sunday. We were looking for someplace different to check out and my wife found this place. Cagney's Kitchen is a small chain in the Winston-Salem area consisting of about 10 locations. Some are just Cagney's Kitchens, some are Cagney's Kitchen and Pizzeria and some are Cagney's Kitchen, Pizzeria and BBQ. This location is simply a Cagney's Kitchen. This restaurant is in what I believe is normally a pretty busy area near the hospital. On a Sunday morning, not so much. However, when we arrived it was apparent Cagney's was busy. The parking lot is small, tight and was very close to full but we found a spot. The entry is covered and opens to the dining area and host counter. The inside appears very cramped and dated but everything appears to be clean. We were seated promptly in a small two person booth, provided menus and offered drinks. We checked out the menu which was pretty basic but included about everything you might normally want for breakfast. My wife decided to get the farmers omelet with no cheese, a side of gravy for me and a biscuit. I chose the chicken fried steak and eggs with wheat toast. Our food arrived promptly and looked good and hit the spot. My wife really enjoyed her meal and thought the flavor of the omelet and the flakey biscuit was delicious. The chicken fried steak hit the spot for me as well. If you are looking for a diner type experience this fits the bill, nothing fancy but the food is solid and the prices are right.

My family has been BIG fans of this Cagney's location for years. They are the classic breakfast diner with consistently great food and service. My favorite is the French Toast breakfast special. It comes with eggs and your choice of meat. It is the perfect size and always cooked to order. If you like biscuits, you'll definitely want to give theirs a try. Also, the coffee is always fresh. The staff at this location is very personable, prompt and attentive. Heads up: 1.) the parking lot can get a little tight. Be sure to check the parking spaces on the side and in the back. 2.) I wouldn't advise a group larger than about 6. It can get a little tight inside.

This was my first time at the restaurant, and I showed up 45 minutes before closing on a Friday evening. Despite that, the waitress was very friendly. I felt a little rushed, because she gave the receipt well before I was done, or even half done, but her demeanor was nice. The flounder had a really mild light flavor. It was well done, perfectly cooked. Perhaps just a tad too oily? The joint kind of has an old-school diner feel to it. You know in movies where the staff know all of the people in the small town on a first name basis, and know what they want to order? That's this place. It has an appeal, for sure.

Although it's tucked away in an unassuming business district, this restaurant is truly a hidden gem. From the moment we walked in, we were impressed by the warm, inviting space and exceptional service. Everyone made us feel welcome, and the attention to detail throughout our meal was outstanding. We started with the Ahi Tuna appetizer, which was absolutely delicious. It was served over a bed of crisp sliced cucumbers and the most amazing vinegar coleslaw. The combination of flavors was fresh, light, and memorable. Even the warm dinner rolls were outstanding and set the tone for the meal. For our entrées, the meatloaf was everything comfort food should be. It was tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned, served over creamy mashed potatoes with fresh French green beans. We also ordered the Chef's seasonal Squash Casserole, and it was phenomenal. If it's on the menu when you visit, don't miss it. Milner's way exceeded our expectations: wonderful food, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere made for a memorable evening. We will absolutely make the trip back the next time we're in Winston-Salem.

We were able to park right up front. We made reservations and were seated right away. Our waiter, David, was absolutely amazing. He was incredibly knowledge about the menu, honest with his recommendations, personable, and very attentive throughout our visit. (Somebody give that man a raise!) The atmosphere was warm, sophisticated, and causal all at the same time. The dim lights created a nice ambiance without being so dark that you can't see. The dining room offers a mix of traditional tables, semi-private booths and a bar area. They also have a private room available. The bathroom was very clean and even smelled fresh. They had a good mix of music and a television is available at the bar. Now for the really important stuff. The food was absolutely amazing! I tried the Moravian cookie-pecan crusted salmon with collard greens, zucchini. The meal was a nice size and tasted amazing. I ate every bite. For dessert, we tried the White chocolate-almond bread pudding with vanilla bean ice cream. I'm usually not a bread pudding kinda girl, but this was the exception. Like everything else, it was delicious. This was an awesome visit. HIGHLY recommend!

I didn't expect the restaurant to be busy on a weeknight, but I was obviously wrong as the parking lot was nearly full. We found a spot at the rear of the restaurant and made our way inside. We were promptly greeted and shown to our table near the fireplace. A quick glance around confirmed that the place was jumping, which is good news for any restaurant during the middle of the week. A good balance of menu options from salads, sandwiches, fish, steaks, etc. Expect to pay $20-30 per person and some entrees are ala carte. They appear to have a good selection of wine, beers and cocktails from the long list in the menu. I went with the lasagna; my wife had the fish and chips; and my colleague went with the Beast Burger. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their selection. The temperature of my lasagna could have been a tad hotter, but it wasn't enough of an issue to send it back. I would order it again. Service was good throughout our visit, but I am deducting one star for the noise level. The high ceilings give the restaurant a beautiful lodge look and feel, but they make for a very loud dining experience. The sound level at times was more like a school cafeteria in my opinion. Perhaps a table on the side of the dining room would be quieter where nearby walls could help absorb some of the noise. Bottom line: not the place for a quiet, romantic dinner.

Here's what we thought: **Goat Cheese Butternut Squash Ravioli** Delicious but my Dad thought it was a little rich. The couple of bites I tried were excellent! The chicken was moist and well seasoned. **Moroccan BBQ Pork Chop** This was the best pork chop I've ever had. Moms agreed! Dad wished he had gotten the pork chop! This was his favorite out of the three meals we tried! **Prime Rib** I had to go all in and got the 12oz. It's the best prime rib I've had in years! They serve it with au jus and creamy horseradish. That creamy horseradish is exactly the way I like it, the au jus was a nice addition and the steak was cooked perfectly! I will definitely order again! This was my favorite out of the three entrees we tried. **Crispy Brussels Sprouts** We weren't as thrilled about these as everyone else. I thought they were dry and needed something more. Maybe they didn't add enough jam and/or balsamic this time? **Chorizo Potato Soup** Very nice! The sausage wasn't too overpowering and I like the creamy broth. Different than anything I've ever had but good.

When we first walked in, it was busy and we heard the hostess tell the couple in front of us they would need to wait over an hour for a table - Lucky for me my wife made reservations and we were seated immediately! It was a bit on the noisy side but not so bad we couldn't have a conversation. Our servers, Thomas, was fantastic start to finish with good recommendations, attentive service without being overbearing, and a great personality. Good staff make a business shine! We started with glasses of wine and were impressed with how generous they poured. Perhaps it was a visual illusion, but they felt like very large glasses of wine and made it feel like a very good value. They have a good selection of wines to choose from along with a full bar. Appetizer was the Crab Cake Egg Rolls, something I don't think I've seen anywhere else. They're cooked in Beef Tallow which gave a very savory flavor and crispy texture. They were a bit on the oily side but overall flavor was delicious, and I really liked the dipping sauce which was like a very herb-heavy tartar sauce. For entrees, my wife had the Filet and I had a New York Strip. I don't have the words to describe how delicious and perfectly prepared both of these were. I didn't even bother asking for steak sauce because the perfectly tender and seasoned steak didn't need it. Nobody wants to pay high prices for a steak and receive something low quality, and I was thrilled with the quality of the steaks here. Surrounding tables likewise had great looking meals and I overheard them voicing pleasure too. As sides go, the baked potatoes and salads were excellent too. I got the hot bacon vinegarette dressing and was surprised it was actually served quite hot. It had a really rich and slightly tangy flavor that was unique and I really enjoyed on my salad. I have no complaints here and will absolutely be back. Of course it's on the pricey end, but this is the type of establishment you reserve for a special night out, not your average Tuesday night. Give it a try and you won't be disappointed!

There was a 20 min wait and we were starving after a long travel day and eager to get to campus so we ate at the mediocre crepes restaurant next door instead. When we picked her up a week later I was prepared with reservations. However, when we checked in they told us they don't take reservations so it must be for their sister restaurant (oops) and the wait was even longer this time. One of the hostesses mentioned there would be seating clearing at the bar within minutes, which was good enough for us. We sat down 3 minutes later and ordered a few minutes after that. My daughter went for a cheeseburger which she happily ate stating that the food at Wake was NOT good all week. My husband enjoyed his turkey club and packed the other half for his flight later that evening (lunch and dinner). I went with the crab cake appetizer, which I thought was just OK. It was only a few dollars cheaper than the sandwich so I probably should have gotten that instead, but didn't want to be tempted with the bread and fries. We were in and out within 30 minutes, which I appreciated since we had a drive to Chapel Hill ahead of us. Overall, it was a solid meal and I'm guessing a favorite for those affiliated with the campus.

No other way to describe it. I also loved the fact they served it with warm and toasted bread pieces.....added another depth of flavor to the entire bite. Entire thing was filled with crab meat as well. I'm used moreso to the chunkier style of crab dip, if that makes any sense, but whatever they did to theirs passed my test. For our entrees, we both opted for burgers. I've been waiting something that isn't a smash burger for quite sometime. No disrespect to smash burgers, but I've been wanting a thick, hand patted burger and they delivered. I ordered the tavern burger with the medium cook and a side of fries. Burger cook was perfect. One thing I loved was that the actual patty had char marks on it & it added more flavor to it. Very juicy and flavorful. Their fries were solid too....crispy yet soft in the middle. My wife got their bacon jam burger with a well done cook and she raved about how juicy it was. The cook was to her preference as well. She wasn't too impressed with the pasta salad as a side, but she did get an order of sweet potato fries and they were great as well. Finished the evening with their carrot cake and key lime pie to go and they were both delicious. Their key lime may be the best I've had in this area. Our server Morgan was awesome as well. Very attentive and helpful with the menu suggestions and explaining the things she personally liked, along with what was popular with other patrons. Their setup is odd....not saying that in a bad way, but its an older building and the layout says that. We were seated very quickly. Again, Morgan was awesome and made sure we were taken care of. The ambiance was good....very apt for a date night. Didn't get the chance to check out any of the other dishes around, but everyone seemed pleased with the service and the food. Will be back again to try some of their other entrees.

I also wasn't super hungry so I got the Big Ol' Pretzel with queso (other side choices were brown sugar or mustard) and a Caesar side salad. The pretzel was great. It was salty and had a great texture (and did not have that microwaved chewy texture that you get sometimes)! I do prefer beer cheese to queso but the pretzel was so good it wasn't a huge deal. The side salad was larger than expected. I didn't care for the dressing. It was not a traditional Caesar taste or texture - not creamy, more of a vinaigrette, and gave the salad greens a slimy texture.
