I wish I liked ABG's because it's one of only two bars in Provo but it's my least favorite bar I've ever been to. The people there are so cliquey! Especially the employees! What's more disappointing is when there's a cover charge because then you're paying to be treated like "you're not one of them." ABGS how often I get it confused with abc is to often but the chicken and frys here are to die for...the crunchy putter layer matches perfectly with the rockstar flavor of the chicken inside...the way it sobers you up is like Covina it's self..the frys on the other hand are a game changer...the crunchy putter layer with a nice plump...no plump does these frys no justice they almost have a creamy center ...you can definitely tell they are made with love and towards the people with alcoholic. ABSOLUTELY RACIST! My friend and I came here a few months ago and were refused service because of our skin color. I really thought we were passed those days, but in this moment I realized we are not as a country. I simply asked the bartender for a drink and he said I was giving him too much "attitude" and that I had to leave. My boyfriend and I recently went to ABG's for my 24th BIRTHDAY. It was around 10pm and we walked over since we only lived a few blocks away. When we got there and went to pay the entrance fee, a guy asked us if we had been drinking before coming in. We were honest and said yes (who doesn't pregame a little before going to a bar?), and that we walked there. He denied us service and told us to leave. I can understand if you waddle into a bar totally drunk and falling over, but we weren't, and had entered Utah bars after a LOT more drinking and never had a problem. I've been to ABG's once alone before, and although it's the only good bar in Provo, it's still not great. When I was there before, the bartender girl had to continually look through her index card box for common drinks that I tried to order. I've never ordered food there, so maybe that makes the "pub" more unique. Overall ABG's just hasn't been a very good experience for me. Best bar in Provo. Good cheap drinks and large variety of bottled beer aside from what they have on tap. Food is also very good. Juke box is great and they have a couple of pool tables as well. Ya, it's a dive bar. Fortunately, I like dive bars. In a town where it's difficult to find a hamburger and a beer in the same establishment, ABG's is an unexpected bonus. The hamburgers are done to a high greasy spoon standard, the fries are even better. The staff are friendly, so are most of the customers. THIS BAR SUCKS!!!!! The worst bar i have ever been to. I wish I could rate this bar a zero if this app would let me. Horrific bar tenders with terrible customer service, who would rather flirt with the regulars than do their job. These guys don't know how to mix a drink to save their lives. Literally they are trained to poor beers or shots and that's it. Their shots are watered down and the shot glasses are bairly half full. Their restrooms are disgusting!! The entire place is a germ infested, bacteria playground. My wife came out of the restroom disgusted by the used tampons on the floor, and bloody bugars smeared on the wall. Im suprized the health department has not shut them down by now. Never go to this bar! City limits and the madison are a breath of fresh air compaired to this disgusting hole in the wall. read more

By far my favorite watering hole in Provo, and in the top ten overall. A great atmosphere with great bartenders. And The fabulous bar tender with the killer mustache always makes me the best Grey Goose martini's. Great pup grub, everything on the menu is delicious but my favorite is the Double Degree (big, spicy, delicious, and god on a bun). Definitely the place to go for some grub and a pint. Best with friends, but by yourself is great too! It's also fun to go in and say "make me a chocolate chip cookie" or something crazy like that and they will make me a drink that tastes exactly what I said. Oi, ABG's is one of 3 bars in provo. Count em kiddos, 3 damned bars! They offer the best selection they can and run a tight enough ship because the cop shop is all of a block down the street. Given that it's the only bar in town offering anything decent local music running the full gamut of musical taste, they have basically anything you'd commonly want to drink, and minus a certain new addition to the staff everyone knows how to rock out some good cocktails I'd say this is definitely your best choice as far as a watering hole in utah county goes. read more

So I just finished game 6 Utah jazz vs la clippers and after that devastating loss I was ready to throw some money down on booze. I've gone to ABGs a couple times and every single time I try to avoid one of their employees that doesn't know how to treat their customers. We got off the front runner in Orem to catch a lyft to make it in time. Well we walk in and this specific employee says, "sorry we are closed no more drinks passed 1". I pull out my phone and show him that there is 3 minutes left and that we do not want to buy any drinks if it will be a hassle. All we wanted to do was meet up with our friends who were waiting for us. We asked him, how much is cover we don't mind paying. He said there was no cover because we are closed. Keep in mind they had 3 minutes left and the place still had people going in and out, but for some reason we were not allowed to go in. We asked kindly if we could step in and talk to our friends for 1-2 minutes and he said no and ignored us and let everyone else pass by.
