The salmon was great! The ceviche for me was ok (I live in Miami) and my friend thought it was fine (she lives in Utah). Smarty did great with the mocktails and made them all perfect each time. Fish for the fish and chips were ok. The fish was cooked too much and the batter needed seasoning. I swapped it out for grilled salmon and that was great! Came here on a Saturday night with a bigger group, and even though it was busy, the service was amazing. Since there wasn't a table inside big enough for all of us, we sat outside, but it actually ended up being really nice with the heaters going. The food was so good. Their menu is on the smaller side, but honestly you can't go wrong with anything. We tried the loaded tots, Wagyu burger, chicken sandwich, mac and cheese, and Brussels sprouts, and every single thing was delicious. Definitely recommend checking this place out! Started off great but went downhill quickly. We went to enjoy drinks and a dinner. I waited over an 75 minutes for my burger that never came. After multiple requests to the waitress who just brushed me off and a treated us with a complete lack of care. She apologized and offered to comp the burger (the one that never came) and a free dessert. Awful service!!!! read more

It wasn't very busy when we went which made for a very intimate evening. The vibe was super mellow. We were able to sit right next to the fire which was nice since it was rainy. The food was delicious! My favorite was the Brussels sprouts and the wagyu burger, it was so good. The Brussels were crispy and the glaze they used was so yummy and the burger was cooked perfectly and just melted I your mouth with each bite. Got over a decade I've had the joy of meeting my friend who CC lives in Draper to attend The Sundance Film Festival. Our yearly tradition prior to Covid was a movie at the Sundance resort and a meal either drinks at The Owl Bar. Covid interrupted this tradition. This year I returned however I caught Covid early in the festival. And sadly there were no movie screening at this, my favorite location. Once I made it through Covid, we made our way to the Owl Bar and I'm very happy to say, new management has left it virtually untouched. (There is development going on on the property but so far, no real effect). This location is still cozy and romantic. It began to snow as we got closer to the resort which only added to the experience. When you pull up you are greeted by the foot of the ski mountain. Log cabin like buildings line the path through nature to the general store. The Owl Bar is located to the left. There are two other wonderful restaurants and a coffee bar as well. Entering the owl bar you are greeted by a saddle and the walls are adorned with stills from Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, pan oldie but goodie movie - must see. Staff is casually friendly. It's intimate with room for a bar and loungy dinning area. You can't help but want to come in and kickback with one of their amazing cocktails - I had naked tickle flight 15. We split an order of our absolute favorite Brussels sprouts. In fact, my friend is not a fan of Brussels sprouts but really enjoys them here. Next, I had the chicken quesadilla which was good. My friend had the wings. We both had enough left for lunch the next day. To conclude the meal we decided to try three of their desserts - we couldn't decide on what to split! The Carmel something or other with vanilla ice cream was our agreed upon favorite! My friend really liked the blueberry cheese cake while I preferred the chocolate cake thing that looked like a hostess yodel! We had plenty to take home! Still a favorite get--a-way spot! I came up to Sundance not knowing what it would be like, but it didn't live up to what I guess were my grand expectations. We had plans to do a scenic ski lift, but it was lightning/raining so that couldn't happen. Instead, we visited the Owl Bar and I really enjoyed it. It has a nice ambiance and the beer was good. The state's liquor laws are wildly prescriptive (in a nanny state kind of way), so I felt for the staff who were having to card everyone including senior citizens. I have only previously had the pleasure to visit the Sundance area during the winter season to enjoy dinner at The Tree Room, but I had not yet had the opportunity to visit during the summer! After this recent visit, I plan to come here much more frequently during the summer! My husband and I had just finished hike and were actually heading to The Foundry Grill when we had realized The Owl Bar was already open. The bar is all open seating, including the outside, so we took a chance and were able to find some seating in the shade which was great! The outdoor patio was so peaceful and the scenery around was absolutely beautiful. We ordered a couple appetizers and some drinks which all turned out great! I did ask our waitress a couple strange questions, like if they made the prickly pear juice in house or if it's a purchased syrup, so kudos to her for being so kind to my strangeness, hahaha. I did still go ahead and order the Prickly Pip and my worry was confirmed (the syrup was a bit heavy on the sweetness), but the other elements of the drink helped to balance that out a bit. I also ordered just a classic Lime Margarita, and that drink was executed very well! Very refreshing in the summer heat. As for our appetizers, we noticed that many people had ordered the Nachos, so we did as well. Nachos are one of my favorite staple appetizers, and I loved these ones especially. Good distribution of the toppings and I also really enjoyed the black beans were partially mashed! The star of our whole meal had to have been the Fried Pickles!! I decided last minute that we would grab an order of the Fried Pickles, and I can confidently say that it would have been a mistake if we did not!! The breading on the pickle was so light and simultaneously had a slight crunch to it. Quite possibly the best fried pickle that I have ever consumed. Also, the chipotle aioli dipping sauce was incredible. It had a nice spice to it and wasn't so heavy that it would take away from the bright flavor of the pickle; the two paired together was so complimentary. Overall, I am so glad we stumbled into the bar so we could enjoy this meal! Would very much recommend visiting during the summer (I bet even late summer and early fall would be outstanding). This review is only for the drinks and the hot pretzels not the regular menu. Great service all around! Perfect spot to check out before your dinner on the rest of the resort. My Old Fashioned is probably the best that I've had in Utah (see previous reviews for my issues with the food scene here..). 4th time and this was not a good experience. We sat in the back room near the fireplace and everything is fine. We ordered our drinks and food thought we'd enjoy the view the music and then our server decided it was smart to try and fit a 10 topper at the 6 topper next to us even having the nerve to ask if he could fit a chair between our tables. Mind you there is two of us and easily visible that it wasn't humanly possible to squeeze another big heavy rustic chair between the tables . Mind you we now had been sandwiched between two very large groups in a 16 person room . Each time out server came to service either tables I pretty much had my elbows in his back pockets . After 20 minutes of this we asked to move . We were enjoying ourselves for a few hours when out of nowhere I was asked to move to keep the emergency exit more clear. This was two hours after we had to move but fine we were waiting for our dinner reservations next door at Foundry Grill until we were wrapping up and asked if my pregnant girlfriend could take her non-alcoholic juice to our dinner spot and they declined saying we couldn't bring her pomegranate spritz . You know it really tested my patience because we more than dealt with inconvenience in the most polite way and over and over again we were asked to deal with bad service. We had the quesadilla and nachos and they were fine, but definitely not spectacular especially considering the price. I came here to celebrate my birthday and had such a blast. My friend and I sat at the bar and found out it was the first weekend they had reopened since COVID started! There was live music in the corner of the seating area and the band was phenomenal. We ordered several cocktails and I got their veggie burger and fries for dinner. Currently here visiting my brother and this place was so cool. It was awesome hearing about the rich history and the fact that the bar is the original wood from Ireland gave it a very authentic feel. It's comfortable inside and the servers were nice and friendly. They helped us even when we didn't know what to order. We initially came in for a drink but I was tempted by the Brussel sprouts and let me tell you... they were to die for! I had a lovely small plate and cocktail at the Sundance Mountain Resort Owl Bar Yesterday. I forgot to get a picture of the food but it looked very appetizing and tasted even better. The chimichurri was a nice complement to the thinly sliced chewy sourdough toast. The sausages were spicy and paired well with the sweet peppers. It was definitely a large enough portion to share and was a good choice to pair with the gimlet cocktail. The drive to Sundance was spectacular with the fall leaves in full color. I highly recommend a visit before they're gone. The owl bar was packed and I was not able to sit outside. I ended up finding a stool at the bar. Came here on Friday - July 5th after hiking in the area. Plenty of seats and food was good but staff was unfriendly and seemed overwhelmed. I planned to come to The Owl Bar for six months prior to my 30th birthday. Me and a group of 6 came in around 3:30 on June 8th. We were sat outside. My party ordered their food and we never received one of our guest plates. We brought this up multiple times to the waiter and they said it was coming - it never came. We additionally requested a special birthday desert from the time we sat down. That also never came. The waiter ended up taking one of my drinks off the tab and thought that was efficient enough. 6 out of 7 of us requested no onions , all of our plates came with onions. We expressed this to the waiter and all that was done was simply removing the onions from the plate and giving it back to us, with all onion residue and onions bits attached. The restaurant did not care for allergy concerns. I was superbly disappointed with my birthday experience that I had planned so intentionally. And the quality of food was mediocre at best. Owl Bar was one of my favorite restaurants in the valley. The best thing we got were the pretzels. The spicy mustard and cheese sauce were excellent, everything else was disappointing. You guys are the heart of Sundance, people expect a lot coming here. Take value in that instead of giving your patrons the very least. read more
