**Updated. From 2 stars down to 1 star. I got a response from Amber, who admitted to making a mistake on the invoice, but since I already paid the invoice, the best they could do was offer me a "Thank You" for paying on time, and no refund for their mistake. What a joke of business! Worst Customer service ever! The electrician that came to my house was pleasant and did get the job done quickly. I was looking to move a light fixture 2 ft over, and just needed a new hole cut in the ceiling and the wiring pulled over for an electrical box for the light fixture. Chava, from Able Elec, quoted me $95xhr min 2 hrs., but does not include dry wall repair, and I was OK with that. The job was simple, so it took less than 1 hr, including the time to go to Home Depot and a new electrical box. When I got the invoice I was surprised to see the electrical box "Materials Charge" was $50. I had to go to Home Depot to get screws for the new electrical box, and saw the full retail (not contractor) price for the box was $5.11. That's 1000% markup. If you do your research, most contractors mark up materials between 2x and 6x the their cost. Obviously, able electric, not only got paid for 2 hours for less than 1 hour of work, but then expects to gauge its customers by up charging 10 times the price for its materials. I tried reaching out to Amber, at Able Electric, who sent me the invoice, and ask why such a large markup, and it's been over a week and I've gotten crickets for a response. To add insult to injury, I wasn't paying attention when the electrician left the house, and he took my old electrical box with him (I'm sure that's usable and chargeable to some other customer - and my loss), and he even took the dry wall piece he cut out, with him. Without the old dry wall piece I have to buy new drywall to repair the old hole, and without the old box I couldn't even put a box cover plate on the old hole as a temporary fix. Other people may have given them 5 stars, but just know that you're going to pay a lot more for this service and even may end up costing you more than expected in misc costs. At least the electrician was pleasant, which is why I gave them 2 stars, or else it would be 1 at best. read more

I had a "Complete" loss of power at 7:00 pm NV Energy responded to my emergency call in about 20 min BUT could not figure out how to correct the problem and restore power. AJ from Able Electric showed up on time, and was able to get me back up and running in about 30 min. He then took the time to explained to me what possible caused the outage and the steps I should take to eliminate it from happening in the future. I called them this morning because I have quite a few outlets that aren't working, even after I reset the breaker numerous times. I'm having lots of tripping and I also have some upgrades I want to get a price on after fixing the current issues. The technician showed up and wanted to know if the office gave me a price when I called. I asked him how they could give me a price before knowing what the problem is? He asked me how many outlets weren't working so he could give me a price without even inspecting anything. What if it was a fuse or a problem with the box. How can you quote me a price per outlet? I just thanked him and said never mind because it didn't sound right. Chava did call me which I appreciated and said that charging by the outlet would not be correct and maybe it was a language barrier which didn't instill confidence either. Please see my previous review below posted August 25, 2021. THIS IS A UPDATE!! The District Manager Sergio Topete-Arce (I think this is his title). Called me the next day to make amends on my negative experience with the company. He made a point to come to my house quite quickly. My previous experience apparently has no reflect on the company itself. He apologized for the previous technician's behavior and went way above and beyond to accommodate me for my electrical needs. This is what you call true professionalism. So with that said I would definitely recommend this company. ________________________________________________________________________________ On August 24th I adjusted my schedule for an appt between 12-2 pm. At 2:20 pm I called to find out why no one has come. Supposedly had an emergency but yet no one called to inform me. So after phone representative expressed how they were sorry and asked me to reschedule. So I get emergencies happen and decided to give another chance for today Aug 25th. My appt was scheduled between 1-3...at about 2:45 I go outside my front door to get something and there is a Able business card in my door..I'm like how did I missed the guyI've been sitting in my living room waiting. I check my ring app and at 12:20 p.m.there is a guy at my door standing there on his phone and after less than a minute he puts card in door. The killer part is he NEVER RANG DOOR BELL!!  And appt was between 1-3. I would not recommend this business at all! read more
