Really enjoyed my experience here! The place is quite spacious and bright. The pastry selection was superb. I got the almond croissant and it was spot-on. Service was so lovely! Love this place! It's super cute and hip and every barista I've interacted with has been great :) the coffee is delicious and all the pastries look sooo good . They actually make noticeable difference between a cappuccino and latte, which several coffee shops fail to make an adequate distinction. They also offer some little granola bars as well as pastries is you're feeling a little more of a guilt free snack. I haven't tried them but they look quite yummy. They have a decent amount of seating for a little upper west side coffee shop and easily accessible outlets. They have one large table in the center that would be perfect for working. They also have some seating outside which is nice when the weather permits. It's in a great location right next to the natural history museum and Central Park. Would be a perfect place to grab a cup of coffee and go stroll through the park or head over the the museum. I also REALLY appreciated that if you are going to sit inside and stay there they ask for your proof of vaccine! And if you don't have a vaccine you can just pop over to the museum and get vaxxed. The barista offered their cardamom latte special as her recommendation when I mentioned I was a first-timer, to which both her and the girl working behind her smiled at (super welcoming)! Any cafe that offers anything cardamom always scores with me. Why I will never step foot into this establishment again: Less than a half hour ago I visited with my 4 month old puppy in tow. The barista, a female whose name I don't know, and I engaged in pleasantries about which pastry was best and could be shared with my pup. She recommended the zucchini one. I agreed. She placed it in a bag. My matcha latte was ready. My card was swiped twice. It didn't work. Before anything was swiped, I placed a dollar bill in the tip jar. My card wouldn't work and there was no available method of inputting the numbers. Okay. I had ten dollars in cash (after the dollar I tipped). My bill was 11.65. The zucchini pastry was taken out of the bag since I was short the $1.65. Had I not tipped, I would've been short 65 cents. Anyway, $1.65 is how much it cost this place to forever lose me as a customer. There are so many amazing coffee shops in the neighborhood that value their patrons so much more. Daily Provisions is one. I watched firsthand as a homeless man was treated to the coffee and pastry I was going to buy for him. I've been given complimentary cookies (which taste amazing). Black Press Coffee is another amazing place with really thoughtful/cool/generous staff. Le Pain Quotidien can be hit or miss but when they hit, it's really out of the ballpark. A nice, typical coffee shop. My earl gray was fine. Just three little problems. There are not enough tables. So much open space that is wasted that people could sit in. But I managed to find a table. Now the bigger problem. Each low round table only has one chair. So if you are with someone and you get a table you can't use it if the place is moderately busy because there are no chairs for two. Now the biggest problem. I accidentally walked in on a terrified woman in the bathroom because the door was not locked. If you read through prior reviews others have complained about this problem for a while. Yet they haven't fixed it. An old school hook-and-eye for $3.00 from Home Depot or Amazon would solve this problem in 5 minutes. Yet it continues. Means they have no respect for their customers. read more

I was looking for a quiet place to study near my house, and came across this coffee shop. Located in Upper West Side, About Coffee is a cute coffee place with plenty of seating and outlets that isn't overly crowded nor too loud. I ordered Vanilla Latte with oat milk and it was delicious! Staff was very friendly and it's overall a good place to get some work done. You'll see a lot of people here on their laptops; wifi can be a bit slow, but it wasn't too problematic. I got an iced americano and really enjoyed it, the espresso is delicious. They have nice indoor and outdoor seating and this is a great spot to read or get work done. This is a lovely unpretentious beautiful cafe. Prices aren't too high and they play great music. I can usually find a spot to work because there is plenty of seating. Free wifi. I love this coffee shop and love like other reviewers that its NOT starbucks. The baristas are really nice. Hey I don't adore the super hero decor, but I really like the coffee and the environment otherwise. I have to admit, the pastries are not great in my opinion, the only thing that puts this down a star. (are they from Ceci cela? Why are they soggy and flat?) I wish so much that they had croissants as good as Maman, epices, mille feuilles, but so what? I get to go those at those places that are very close. Just avoid the leek pastry--not yummy. I don't know about the regular coffee, but the espresso drinks are with beans from Gimme coffee a great place that started in Ithaca :) and whose shop in Williamsburg (where I used to go so ofen :( ) shut down during this never-ending pandemic. This coffee shop is a perfect little spot to come and get some work done! I came here on a Friday ready to work and (has to leave early because my laptop wasn't working) but was pleasantly surprised by this spot during the time I was there. I ordered an iced mocha (they make the chocolate syrup in house!) and a donut. My only issue with this place is that the donut I wanted was in front of the wrong sign! So I thought I was ordering the one that looked chocolatey but actually got a pomegranate donut. It was still good but I wish the name cards matched up so I could've gotten the right one! (First world problems I guess tho!) coffeee was good, and they had compatible straws! I loved the big wooden table and the seats were nice, there was also enough space under the table to cross your legs (big pet peeve of mine when there's no room to do that under a table..)
