I have had a great experience in the labor unit and most surprisingly the emergency room! I had my baby this past April and my experience was just fantastic. The team of nurses and doctors were kind and helpful. They explained everything no surprises. I had a healthy baby girl. The care after delivery was phenomenal and the food was good considering it was hospital food haha.... they even had a live course on how to take care of your baby after you leave the hospital which was just so helpful. The entire staff looked genuinely happy to work there. The emergency room to my surprise which I have been there on 2 occasions this year one for me and the other was for my husband both experiences where the same everyone was kind, respectful, truly cared for your well-being. The wait was not bad at all 2-3 hours each time. I am happy I live just up the straight from this hospital. read more

I honestly wish I could give this hospital zero stars. I have filed a complaint and a lawsuit with them because of their malpractice. I went in with pain in my pelvic and triage nurse looked at me and goes "oh it's probably a UTI.."it's not that kind of pain everybody... So while I am hunched over in pain crying three hours later I finally get to go to the back I don't get an IV I don't get pain medication but I do get sent to ultrasound.. and then after the ultrasound I wait some more still no IV still no pain meds nothing..... The PA comes in and says oh it just looks like your IUD has shifted out of place go see your gynecologist tomorrow... and I leave. The next morning I see my gyno and I'm rushed to banner hospital to have emergency surgery bc I was about to die. Don't waste ur time here. Go to banner or any other place !!!!!! read more

Do not use this hospital my husband walked into the ER in july 2024 for a very bad chest cold and they gave himso much medicine that his appendix ruptured almost 2 months later he crawled out. Super personable and deeply cares about the pregnancy and the family members every step of the way. You will notice appointments running late, but that's because Dr. Folkstad takes his time and converses with the family peacefully. He listens and shares his own family experience along and vast knowledge. I will say, he does talk fast lol but that's because he loves to educate and respond as much as possible to all q's and concerns. Ultrasound Technician is the same individual that we had 6 years ago - professional and caring. The women and men at the front counter are amazing as well. Baby #2 on the way. Worst hospital... the charge nurses there are horrible on level 2 for labor and delivery. They say they will call you update you but they never do/did for me. They also changed my induction. My husband stayed home from work now because of this change of date. This will be my last time going there for delivery. I can also see after labor that they will keep me baby and my husband waiting around for discharge to go home. When you say your gonna do something do it don't lie and forget. Disrespectful. Pls go to another campus, they are very short staffed so you will be in pain and throwing up for over an hr. When you try to ask for some help you are met with very rude individuals (charge nurse and someone who answers the phone). Your call light does not work so you constantly have to get up and yell from your room, then the nurses get upset like "hello, fix your call button". They are very unorganized and unprofessional. Where do I begin? This was the worst hospital experience for my husband. I rushed my husband to their Emergency Room on Monday, because he was in excruciating abdominal pain. Once at the ER, my husband began vomiting. I had to ask for a bucket. His pain was so severe, and he was just left sitting there. After a long wait, he was brought back. Once in the back, he started screaming in pain. They didn't offer him anything--no pillow, no blanket, no pain meds, no comfort. He was literally just ignored for 4 hours before a CT scan. After the scan, he was told it was appendicitis. And that it had NOT ruptured. And get this: surgery not until 3.5 hours later. During the wait, he had a serious fever with chills and was in such pain they had to give him fentanyl because morphine wasn't touching the pain. You'd think that would be a sign that his appendix had ruptured! As it turns out, his appendix had indeed ruptured and was so inflamed and swollen it reached his liver. Pus was all over his entire abdomen, in all 4 quadrants. He had a severe case of peritonitis! It could have been prevented had he been operated on earlier, rather than after suffering for 7.5 hours. After surgery he was put in the RAU for 3 nights. He didn't have a room. Nurses were nice down there. No complaints. But, it was so loud down there 24 hours a day because there was no door. For 4 whole days my husband worsened. His infection wasn't being treated properly; the antibiotics weren't touching it. We had to beg for an infectious disease specialist. We had to beg for another CT scan. Everything took forever. He was moved to another room. The nursing staff up there has NO IDEA about his case or pending procedure. They offered him food and water and said he was going home that day! What?! The left hand wasn't talking to the right. Nobody knew a damn thing! They had to ask him the same intake questions all over again--family history, medical history, etc. why wasn't all that in the computer? In the new room, he had a poor roommate, whose alarm bells went off constantly (seriously, every few minutes!)---nurses would never come to turn them off. I had to fetch them *each and every time*. The nurse was nice but she was clueless about how to stop the constant chimes and alarms. How can patients rest like this? We had to ask for clean sheets, clean gowns. My husband had multiple episodes of severe fevers and the sweats and chills. Nobody checked up on him during or offered comfort items. Our biggest complaint: for several days my husband was not getting better. Nobody thought to try a different antibiotic. Wish someone would have thought to change out the meds sooner because he had fever after fever for 4 straight days. It was obvious to me the antibiotics weren't working; My husband's skin was actually mottled and he couldn't stop shivering. Peritonitis tends to have encapsulated pus pockets which aren't even touched by the antibiotics he was on. Not one physician at Arrowhead mentioned this to us. We had a friend tell us this, and that we should insist on getting an infectious disease specialist in the case. This is not something patients should have to do. And each time we were told something would happen, it wouldn't for several hours or not until the next day. Awful experience. read more

Worst experience ever. Took my sister who was having chest pains there this week and they made us wait about 10 minutes to "get checked in". The ER nurse Jodi was rude and refused to allow me to explain what's been happening to her (there is a language barrier) or even look at the EKG from her PCP done 2 days earlier. As her POA, I have medical POA and they needed to allow me back to assist her, plus she is handicapped. While I fully understand the Covid protocols and abided by them, they showed no consideration at all. The Dr. apologized but that was while they were discharging her after 4 hours of being alone there. The best part was watching the security guards change the TV channel to the Thursday night football game and stand there, in the ER waiting room watching the game! read more

If I could give Abrazo less than zero I would. I went into the ER because I was having a bad asthma attach and found out later I had bronchitis. Usually for breathing issues I get right in. They left me in there filthy waiting room for about 30 minutes to take me back and made we wait another 2 hours before I received a breathing treatment. I received the bill for their crappy service and starting paying 100.00 a month, I figured if I had to wait for care they could wait for payment. I have paid faithfully for 4 months for those aholes to turn me into collections. DO NOT go to Abrazo Arrowhead their waiting room is dirty their ER was worse and they don't give one shit if you pay them they will still turn you over to collections. read more

Holy Sweet Mother of God I can't believe these guys are allowed to stay open!!!!! After having a terrible experience recently in another ER in AZ, these guys take the cake. We got into the waiting room at 6:15pm and finally got back into an ER exam room well after 10pm. The young male nurse that put in my IV absolutely butchered my arm (see pic). Dr Lawrence was a complete unprofessional JACKWAD! Saw me less than 3 minutes and had very unprofessional manners. When doing the scan the technician had to redo the contrast 3 times. I must not understand triage because an overweight woman wheeled in for chest pains was told to go wait. Once I finally saw a medical professionAl, he acted like I was bothering him. When I told him the medication they usually give me isn't helping this time so i was concerned that something else was going on, he asked me, "like what?" Isn't that what they are here to find out? I had an outpatient surgery and the pre-op nurse was great. My anesthesiologist refuse to look at me, when we got to the OR she got mad and yelled cause I was still talking, (I was nervous) and she yelled again so I stopped talking. The post op nurse gave me 20 minutes to get up and dressed by myself. I was hurting, but she already removed the IV before I was awake. I got an ice pack and was leaving when she yelled at me for walking out, she said I had to have a wheelchair, which is fine, I thought patients were to be listened to and not yelled at or waking up from anesthesia and having to get dress on my own while you kept the curtain open. So if you get a choice, don't go here. They are in a rush, 1 of my incisions open, I had to call my doctor to find out after care instructions because I wasn't given anything. My husband has it on the phone what time I woke up and what time I was in the truck, 20 mins. read more

I can't say enough about the treatment I received from the entire staff throughout the hospital. I need to thank my orthopedic surgeon Dr. Kenneth Hood, anesthesiologists Quinton, nurse Dan who was very informative along with the entire nursing staff in the pre surgery center. Once I had surgery I had seen many doctors and nurses. My night nurse Emmanuel was great and made sure I was comfortable. As for the day staff Brittney and Dorothy treated me like I was a V.I.P.. Dorothy was nothing short of being exceptional. I really appreciate the day head of the department who's name escapes me due to the meds. He assured me that I would be able to stay an additional day to assistance with pain management. I also want to give a shout out to the kitchen team. The food was good and delivered hot. The staff who took the orders and made the delivery's where pleasant to deal with. I have nothing but a great feeling on my stay for neck surgery. The staff in my eyes would receive 10 stars if I could. I really want to thank nurse Dorothy she was a pleasure to have looking over my best interest. I have had 3 previous surgeries at Abrazo West. I was excited that Abrazo in Glendale was an option and if you have a choice make sure to choose Abrazo in Glendale. read more

this hospital is terrible especially after getting a big surgery done. Especially the overnight staff they don't care if you need to use the restroom. They let you pee on yourself and it's whatever to them. The staff just hangout and mess around and don't attend to the people in the hospital. They always have a bad attitude and get mad when you ask for something. Some of the day staff are nice but it's night and day when it comes to day staff and night staff. If you hate your job get a new one. You are there to care for people it's not a joke. read more

Really loved our time here delivering the baby. My wife had to be induced and ended up having to get a C section. Really liked the rising staff and even though her procedure got pushed back a few times in the end everything was done great and we were even able to go home a day earlier than originally anticipated. My wife was admitted to Abrazo Arrowhead on 1/18/2022 and died at the hospital on 1/31/2022. After making funeral arrangements, I collected her belongings and left. Having just lost my wife, I was too distraught to inventory her belongings that day. The following day I found that her purse was missing. I called the hospital and was directed to call security. I was told that it was recorded in their log that she was admitted to the hospital with a purse containing several credit cards, identification and $ 448.00 in cash. I repeatedly called the hospital about the purse and was brushed off or told to call someone else. Through my persistence I finally found someone in Risk Management who helped me. She was able to locate the purse and I was able to pick it up. Mysteriously there was no cash in the purse and no explanation as to where it went. I was told that when it was found they would call me. Now 1 and 1/2 months later they still have no clue where the money went, even though Security has it logged in that she was admitted with that amount. They have no problems sending me bills and demanding payment, but when they owe me money, no one has a clue. read more

I recently gave birth to my first baby at the Abrazo location, and I just have to say I was very impressed with the staff and service I received while there, despite the rumors I've heard about labor and delivery. I gave birth during the coronavirus pandemic and the nurses were professional and made sure my husband and I were taken care of. I want to give a shout out specifically to a traveling nurse Lindsey who helped me so much through delivery and made sure I was comfortable the whole time. I also want to give a shout out to another nurse Denise who helped my husband and I during the recovery period and was so personable and professional. Despite the circumstance, my husband and I were overall pleased with our stay. Especially because of the service we received from Lindsey and Denise. The food however I will give 2 stars. Very bad hospital to be at. Let's put it this way I would rather die in transport being taken to different hospital then to be taken here. My wife went into labor and due to unforeseen circumstances we had to go here. The nurse Christine older lady insisted that my wife had diabetes and made comments saying she was denying having any health issues. Then she would proceed to try to talk down to us the whole time she was the nurse. The next morning we got the morning nurse Taylor that would not be careful with her movements and got my wife's IV caught on her and would end up pulling it out and causing blood to start leaking everywhere. They never went and properly cleaned the floor for the days she was there. The paper towel dispenser was empty and dusty in the room. Also one of the nurses can't remember her name was upset I helped my wife to the restroom. When the previous nurse had said it was fine to help her. The sheets in the labor room had holes and were dirty. How do you leave sheets with blood there. I'm surprised the state allows the hospital to run in such poor conditions. It ridiculous to think these people here in the hospital believe they provide any good or quality service given the conditions. I was anxiously waiting on discharge for wife and daughter to get out as quick as possible. Worse experience and I hope it helps others avoid this place. read more

Our experience was in the North Tower, 2nd Floor. With the exception of 3 very personable and professional weekend nursing staff (5 stars to them) this hospital experience was horrible. Nursing staff at night was a shit show. Monday staff not much better. Patients went without medication for hours and patients were made to lay in wet beds and waste for hours. UNACCEPTABLE! Wife of this patient spent the next night in the room to ensure her husband didn't get ignored again. When we tried to discuss with day shift nurses and doctors, they said "They didn't want to hear about it". This is NOT right. ER staff was horrible too after all of the immediate tests were done. Staff disappeared. Who puts a patient in a room with NO device to contact nurse station. Wife called from home 3 times alerting Aiden that hubby needed assistance. 2 hours later someone finally showed up. This was the start of the medications not being given on time. And....,no pillows in the ER? Rolled blankets are not the same. Main nurse on (2nd floor) night shift was disgruntled and let every sick patient know. She was 5150. Made as much noise as was possible and loudly complained about her work load and employer. Disregarded the fact that it was night time and the patients, who aren't there because they want to be, were trying to sleep. Thanks Heidi for a job NOT well done. If you're unhappy, go somewhere else. If you bring home medication with you, make sure your spouse hands it off and you give EVERY nurse a copy of the meds bottle with the prescription instructions. Pharmacy and nurses don't communicate very well. Messed up our medication schedule 100%...,thank you very much! Again, 3 nurses were Rock Stars. Loads of thanks to them for going the extra mile to make us comfortable. Hope to never have to go back. read more

Do not take your kids to this place this hospital is useless I took my daughter there throwing up and having convulsions and they diagnosed her with a diabetic stroke and she doesn't even have diabetes. They then told me I needed to rush her to PCH and show them her glucose levels I walked into PCH and the receptionist said oh she got stung by a scorpion the receptionist! He knew what had happened within ten seconds of seeing her. yet the doctors that seen her in the ER at arrowhead couldn't diagnose a scorpion bite! In arizona!!! wasted two hours and lots of pain for my daughter and me. finally we got the treatment that was needed by Phoenix childrens hospital. I do not recommend you take anybody to this hospital! read more

This is an excellent hospital. Dr. Gupta and Dr. Shala were incredible with aiding Mr. El-Mezzayn who came into the emergency room suffering from heart complications. Do not come here. Truly the least helpful people ever. The nurse was fabulous and very kind as well as the person whom took my x-rays. But other than that, they will not provide me with my test results or upload them to my portal which I find extremely fishy and not very licensed of them. Don't test me if you can't give me the results. These people should honestly be ashamed of themselves. Even when I called they were rude on the phone and said they could not give me my results. If I could give zero stars I would. I have been in the Emergancy Room for 5 1/2 hours with my 81 year old grand mother who came in with chest pains. We are still in the waiting room and they don't seem to care at all. We keep being told that she will be going back any minute and have been told this for over 5 hours. This place is totally despicable how they treat patients. I would t send my worst enemy to this hospital!!! Twice in the past 6 months I've had to use their emergency room for intestinal blockage pain that was 10/10. Pain so bad I couldn't walk, keep my eyes open and was vomiting continuously. First time after two hours of waiting with no treatment my family had to take me elsewhere in hopes of care. The second time I arrived by ambulance and they left me in an ER room for four hours without care, pain meds to alleviate the excruciating discomfort. I honestly thought each time I was dying and the doctors and nurses each time showed zero concern for my emergencies. Please consider an alternative ER room as I would hate to see anyone ever experience what I went through. They truly have no concern for your well being or pain. It's just another annoying day at the office for this team and ER staff. It's very sad to see people who choose a career in caring for people when in pain and distress, completely disregard their medical needs and show zero obligation to help. Do you research and please consider a different ER room ahead of time as when the emergency comes that is not the time to research and Abrazo Arrowhead is not where you want to go. If you have a choice between Arrowhead or West Campus definitely choose Arrowhead. The important things are, they take cleaning seriously, the nurses were great with the exception of 3 weekend night nurses. I was inpatient for 4 days after a serious surgery and was treated very well compared to West Campus. The nurses came when called and responded with care and compassion. The food was fine, I highly suggest the Portobello Burger, surprisingly good! I don't understand the other negative reviews, no of this was my experience so I guess they saw other parts of the hospital than I did. read more

I checked into Abrazo Arrowhead Campus as I was diagnosed with pneumonia in both my lungs! I checked in at approximately 6:00pm. I was told I would have a room shortly. Then they told me they have my bed but they don't have a nurse! It has now been over 24 hours! I would be better off off they gave me my meds and let me go home and sleep on my own bed! This is totally bullshit! If I have no nurse then I guess I don't pay for a nurse! read more
