My doctor was great... The front office staff, not so much. From day one they were unable to accurately record my intake information, calling me back immediately to tell me they had not saved it. Then over the course of two months and four visits, which I felt could've been two or three, they cleaned my teeth and filled three cavities. The doctor was happy to combine one of these visits but unfortunately, the office staff declined that convenience. The final straw was when they tried to overcharge me $100, for a co-pay!. I got this corrected and they only overcharged me by $13.60. Which I felt was a deal just to get out of that place. Very professional Dentist with great communication and chair-side manner. I think this one of the first times I was fully numbed for a procedure which involved drilling. He kept asking if I could feel anything at all, and I said "just a tiny bit", and he said if I can feel it a tiny bit now I will feel it more as goes further, so he numbed me more, and insured it was working before proceeding using cold to test it. I was nervous, but in the end I felt no pain whatsoever from the drilling. He also explained the pros and cons of getting a filling replacement versus an onlay (like a half crown), which helped me make the best decision. I recommend this Dentist's office. read more

I've only been twice, but I can already say that Dr. Tran is my favorite dentist I've ever had. She is kind, patient, caring, and good at what she does. I never feel belittled, like a dollar sign in the chair, or like my needing extra numbing or my "wild" tongue are nuisances. She really makes me feel human and that she cares about me and my well-being. I have very high anxiety, especially at the dentist, after some negative experiences in the past. She noticed my fidgeting almost right away and asked if I was nervous and how she could help, reassuring me. I've never had a dentist or honestly any doctor other than a therapist do something like that and it just made me feel safe. She was training someone during my cavity filling today, and when they weren't getting the suction just right she didn't hesitate to call in her more trusted assistant to finish out the appointment. Completely wasted my time, fuel, and a day of work. Made an appointment over a week ago. Show up today to what's suppose to be their location. They don't know anything about Abri dental. The receptionist tells me to go to the side building. I try the other offices, nothing. I call their number to find out where the office is, and she tells me it's under a different business name. She then says she'll call the office. Finally, she calls back. Talking about what I was coming in for, co pays, and rescheduling. That's where I had enough. This dentistry practice is negative star rating at best. COMPLETE SCAM ARTISTS! On the first visit at the Valencia office I was refused basic service (cleaning) because I refused to pay out of pocket for an "upgraded, special cleaning" that according to my periodontist such does not exist. The basic cleaning is covered by my insurance but the dentist refused to perform it and stated she would only do the extra cleaning which was an extra $75. I asked twice if it was a deep cleaning and she stated no; she said it was just a special cleaning and refused the basic because she claimed I would not benefit from a regular cleaning. According to my periodontist I only need a basic cleaning and would have definitely benefited from it. Also on this visit the office administrator exhibited an extremely rude and unprofessional attitude. She showed major attitude because I requested only insurance covered procedures and would not agree to extra out of pocket services. She raised her voice and even went as far as shoving a clip board all but an inch from my face. It was almost impossible to get a referral from this office which is required by my insurance for special services. The office insisted on using their specialists. This visit was 2 hours with no treatment as scheduled but rather an estimated $18,000 treatment plan that took days to get a copy of. In attempt to give the practice one more chance since it is not easy to switch HMO dentists I was scheduled with Dr. Abri at the Burbank office. To be noted this office is not at all convenient and took almost 1 1/2 hours to get to with Los Angeles light traffic. I waited 45 minutes to see the doctor; he was running behind. At no point did he apologize for the wait or introduce himself but rather came in the room, asked how I was doing and received a text message which he took the time to respond to. He then left the office for another few minutes and returned. He sat at the computer behind me and I could see in the reflection of the window he was once again on his phone. I stated my disagreement with the prior treatment plan from his associate due to a second opinion and said I felt it was commissioned based. It all went south from that moment on. He very briefly looked at my X-rays (if even at all) and said "we have an issue with trust" and if he was going to see me as a patient I had to "trust him and his office". He stated he completely stood behind his associate's treatment plan. He did not review the X-Rays with me to confirm the issues nor did he even look in my mouth. When I inquired about him performing an examination he said he did not need to and everything in the prior plan is supported by X-Rays. I asked about "problems" such as certain cavities that were written on the plan and he would not review them. He just repeatedly kept saying he supported the other associates treatment plan 100% and I have trust issues. Completely out of frustration he than begin to accuse me of saying things I didn't. He stated I claimed to have no cavities which was not at all the case. I continually corrected his false accusations by saying I do not believe I have as many as your associate claims based on another opinion. I asked him why would I have scheduled the appointment today for filings if I didn't believe I have cavities; he could not answer. He even went as far as to to say a damaged tooth I have is a cavity; it is actually a tooth in need of an implant. I relayed to him it isn't being treated as a cavity but as an implant he replied "Oh, so you don't believe you have any cavities". I said that isn't at all what I said or am saying. He reverted back to "us having a trust issue" and if I didn't trust him then there was nothing he would do for me and I could go elsewhere. I said I didn't trust his associate and that was why I was there to see him. He said I had to agree to the treatment plan and if I didn't he would not perform any treatment. I stated I don't agree to the entirety of the plan but wanted to receive the treatment (cleaning and filling) I was scheduled to have. I expressed my concern over his allegiance to a treatment plan without even performing his own exam or reviewing it with me. He refused services and stated we could not establish a doctor/ patient relationship. He said I could find another dentist. In conclusion, after 45 minutes of waiting and 15 minutes of debate Dr. Abri performed no examination and I received no treatment because I would not agree to a fabricated $18,000 treatment plan after receiving an outside second opinion. The sad part is I flossed and brushed for both of these appointments. Dr. Abri is arrogant, cocky and in my opinion absolutely NOT TRUSTWORTHY. He is very unprofessional and I will be filing a formal complaint against his office. My husband also had issues but I will spare the details. AVOID this dentistry practice... at all locations! Patient care is NOT their priority or concern. read more
