How does this business have so many good reviews? We had a GFCI outlet that wasn't working. I was having a busy couple weeks so I asked my wife to call an electrician. She arranged for Absolute Electric to come out and was told that they charge a $69 diagnostic fee (fair enough) and labor would be on top of that. The technician arrived way late but was nice enough and seemed like a good guy. He told us that the GFCI outlet had something wrong with it (duh!) and that another $300-$600 would need to be spent for a deeper diagnosis. I told him I would take care of it on my own and he was nice enough to not charge us the $69 fee. I bought a new outlet at the hardware store for 20 bucks, installed it in 15 minutes, and now problem solved. Being a business owner, I understand that businesses need to make money but they should be making money in an ethical manner. I would have gladly paid a couple hundred dollars to have the outlet replaced just so I didn't have to do it. read more

They refused to give an estimate and insisted on visiting for a $69 inspection visit in order to quote proceeded to quote $3,300 for three fixtures. We rejected the work and paid the $69. Had the work done the following day for $450!, for all three fixtures. They are either in business for their diagnostic fee or to prey on people stupid enough to pay their ridiculous prices. read more

Electrician came for an estimate. You need to pay for an estimate, which is ridiculous. Most other companies give you an estimate for free. Or if they do offer an estimate for a fee that is removed from the price if you go with them. We were looking to separate a light switch and put it on its own switch. Estimate was crazy high I think at $1200. The sales pitch was also annoying. They have to perform a "safety" inspection of your home. Just another way of racking up the bill. They had a financing option if you can't pay right then and there. I guess financing a job to separate a switch is an option but, not what we were looking for that early morning. Called another electrician for the job that offers a flat rate pricing. Unbelievably better! Less than half the price. This company has pulled the wool over our eyes in the past. We needed to get some work done and they were already there so we went with them, knowing full well they were overpriced. They also try to get you on a membership plan. Which we did join to reduce the price of the job. So, when we called them back for an estimate it was only $49 this time to come out not the $70. Kicked myself for calling them back but figured I was a "member" now, maybe a better rate??? Oh no, not the case. Please, stop doing this to people! People can see through this scheme. Highly recommend electrician that use flat rate pricing. I wont be fooled again. read more

They know what I need done because the guy they sent out for my previous job gave me an estimate and a work statement. I had few issues with some power outlets and a 3-way stair circuit. Everything was about bad wiring . Ryan showed up next day after my call and he did a great job. Ryan was the most recent estimator and foreman that I used, and he was particularlly thoughtful and thorough about how he planned our lighting installation. His team arrived on time, conducted themselves professionally and did very good work that looks beautiful and has made a big difference to our home! Overall, I was satisfied enough with the end result. However, it was quite a process that took a lot of my time, and I had to deal with 5 different people. I'll write an honest review from my perspective, including both the good and the bad. Shauwn Collins is the owner of the company. He came to do the estimate. Overall, his presentation, rapport, and explanations were very good. After estimates from 4 companies, I felt the most comfortable moving forward with his company. However, a slight problem arose after the first day of work, which was performed by Shane and Bryan. I tried to reach out to Shauwn to discuss the issue, but I didn't hear from Shauwn again throughout the whole project. Others in the company provided ample communication, including his father, Cole, who I believe is still the service/quality manager. Shane and Bryan came to install 12 recessed lights and 2 dimmer switches, 8 in one room and 4 in the other. The lights that Absolute Electric provides are very modern, efficient, and bright. They use 6" Lithonia ultra-thin LED lights, and I am very happy with them. Shane was in charge of most of the work, and Bryan was a helper. When they arrived, they had gotten the wrong lights from the supply house, so we had to wait about an hour for Cole to bring the correct lights over. When they completed the work for the 8 lights, I came down to do a quality check, and the work was a little sloppy around the trim of the lights. This was the first time Shane had installed these particular lights. They do have a relatively narrow trim, which isn't as forgiving when making the cuts. I asked them to stop work for the day until I had a talk with Shauwn. I was never able to reach Shauwn. Instead, I spoke to Cole, who agreed to have someone come and fix the drywall around the trim and complete the work in the other room. I reluctantly agreed. They sent Juan Merida and Bryan as a helper. He completed the work, fixed the trim around the 8 lights, and rough patched all the holes. If I were to hire Absolute Electric again, I would ask for Juan. His workmanship was excellent. He was personable, and I would consider him a valuable asset to the company as he is able to do handyman work in addition to electrical work. In my opinion, this is a company that is trying its best but is also experiencing some growing pains as they hire new people. Shane had only been with the company for a few months. Each issue with a customer is an opportunity to learn from that experience and an opportunity to serve future customers better. Juan did redeem my experience with Absolute Electric a bit, but I personally may look elsewhere for future work as I felt my experience with them wasn't entirely top notch. read more

I took a shot and went with Absolute to fix some outlets that I messed up being fixit homeowner as well as getting a bid to wire in our new hot tub. I based my opinion on the yelp reviews and I'm so glad I did. They were awesome! We had Rob out to do all the work he was great! He called when he was on the way was polite, professional and very thorough. He explained everything. He gave us a bid for the hot tub which was in the end only a little higher due to a damaged surge box that he noted. He asked if we wanted a new one and did not assume and just do it. There was no pressure and no sales. It was just a friendly hey I noticed this while I was wiring the tub. He ended up going under the deck and hiding the lines. I called Absolute for a couple reasons; They weren't far away, they had a pretty good Yelp rating, and I had an issue with my electrical. (OK, three reasons). Called them on Monday afternoon, and they scheduled me for Tuesday morning between 09:00-11:00. The tech (Brian) showed up about 10:15. Having called me an hour earlier, this is exactly when he said he'd arrive. My issue was an electrical outlet that had stopped working. Originally, the top plug went bad, and then a few days ago, the entire plug quit. Brian traced the issue to an obscure light switch that had been shut off by an unaware pantry-troll (who the hell puts light switches in the pantry, that don't control the pantry lights!). But once he had the power returned to the circuit, the outlet was still only half operational. Brian installed a new GFCI recipticle, a new weather-proof cover on the outlet, and ensured that everything else was working properly. The whole process took right around an hour, and the rate I was charged seemed proper. I'd use Absolute again. read more

Picked them based on their reviews on Yelp. I called another company before finding this company, and had to leave a message, as the other company never called back. Called Absolute and a lady picked up right away. I told her I was looking to have an outlet installed in the garage and a cable outlet in my living room. She said they could get someone out between 12-2. I called around 930! Howe awesome is that? She said it would take around 2 hrs, based on the difficulty of installing the cable outlet. She also said they give a Yelp discount. Great! She said they would call when they were on the way out. My only complaint of the entire experience, and this is very small...they never called on the way out. I even asked them if they tried to call and they said no. Again, this is small, but if you say you are going to call...you should call. They got everything installed well, cleaned up well (most companies don't do this well at all!) and did a nice job! They were friendly as well. I would use them again in a second for any electrical needs in the future! read more

Easiest work we've had done on our house to date. I called Absolute Electric based on their Yelp reviews, and they didn't disappoint. As soon as I called, they answered the phone right away, provided me with a verbal estimate of the cost, and the offered to come out first thing the next day. Our service tech, Richard, called first thing and showed up right on time. We needed a new ceiling outlet installed, and he went above and beyond to make sure it was done right, all while not making a mess of cutting huge holes in the ceiling and walls (we escaped with only a modest ceiling hole that was very easily patched back up). I just had a very positive experience with Absolute Electric...and I didn't even do business with them. Last July, Absolute installed my upstairs thermostat. I wasn't home (my wife was), so I couldn't observe the service completed. The thermostat behaved as expected. Late last night, I received notification via email the thermostat wasn't connecting with the service. As of this morning, it still hadn't connected nor would it power up. I swapped it out with the identical unit downstairs and it powered up just fine. Identical unit wouldn't power up at the upstairs location. I call Absolute and the service manager asked me a few questions and -based on his professional experience- thought it sounded as if a low voltage regulator might have gone bad. He said his people /could/ come out and diagnose it as that, but they'd then have to special-order the part, which would take more time. He instead suggested I call my HVAC company, as they were much more likely to have the part in their trucks already and would find it a quicker and cheaper affair to go thru them. When I agreed that maybe I should take that route, he thanked me for thinking of them and to remember to call them in the future. And that I will. That level of professionalism is why I'm taking this time to write a Yelp review. He indicated he could do the job, but essentially decided what was best for me took precedence. They will definitely get my recommendation to neighbors, friends and colleagues. read more

The customer experience is alive and well with the folks at Absolute Electric. I had 4 light fixtures replaced including one in a 20 foot foyer. The electrician Dan and Ryan were on time, professional, and took the time to ensure the light fixtures were hung straight and at the proper height. They swept and vacuumed once all the work was completed and offered to take the large empty boxes away. Mike was able to give me a price quote over the phone which was efficient for me because like everyone in the area I am busy....so one less in home estimate the better. I priced several different electric companies and felt the pricing was fair. They called the day prior to confirm the appointment and a courtesy call the morning of to give a eta. I will be the first to admit I am a bit of a perfectionist and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. If anyone is looking for a electrician I wouldn't hesitate to refer Absolute Electric. His proposed approach to my job (adding a dedicated circuit for a microwave oven) seemed much more reasonable that the previous company that gave me an estimate. First, they were super transparent and upfront about the costs of my home project (undercabinet lighting). Shawn came out on sight and gave a detailed breakdown of the everything.
