This includes the various individuals who you set up the appointments with. The work thus far has been, in my humble opinion, top quality. JERK company. They will tell you they are coming for a 3:30PM appointment when you have a leaking pipe.... Re-assure you at 5PM that they are still coming.... then NEVER F******* SHOW UP!!!!! Did they call us to release us from waiting for them, so that we could go out to dinner and have an evening as planned? NOPE. The message never reached us because they couldn't be bothered to treat their customer right. 12 hours later after their appointment, it's 4AM and we have NO CLUE and NO INDICATION of when they are coming. It's not hard. We spoke on the phone and gave all the info. They sent us email confirmations. If a company is already lying to you before they show up, it's not someone you want to work with. UPDATE: The following morning, the person who answered the Yelp message said they weren't sure why they didn't show up. So... They don't even know what's going on with their own employees, it seems. My garbage disposal got stuck. While trying to fix it myself, the disposal fell off its mount, and I had no idea how to remount it. Michael & Son came out and resolved it in a few minutes. Freddie was friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. They also show you where the technician is as he approaches, so you know exactly when he will arrive. The whole process was very smooth. Our plumbing technician Eric Kang was extremely helpful and efficient. He really took the time to understand the problem before confidently explaining the replacement he would need to perform. He had everything he needed already with him and replaced multiple pipelines as well as the pressure gage that was causing the issue. Thrilled with the immediate fix. (Our water pressure had dropped so low we couldn't even shower and the hot water would run out within minutes.) Michael & sons sent him out the same day that I called for service and Eric was extremely punctual. Came to around $800 which was worth it and honestly unavoidable. It's not always fun being a homeowner but it makes it easier when you truly get great service and an ongoing issue is finally resolved. read more

It was bought to my attention that on 5/7/26 the appointment with michael & sons turned out to be a grab for money there was never a problem with the shallow well pump the technician was observed turning the pressure screw to adjust the pressure in the pump until it started leaking the technician was trying to up sell us on a new pump this was definitely a shady tactic , I don't appreciate being overcharged for an estimate and the n having the technician trying to con us into getting a new pump i will never use michael & sons ever again , what was witnessed says a lot about what this company will do just to make a dollar , God is going to truly expose this company for who they really are. read more

First the good: Everyone I spoke to while both setting the appointment and the technician, Conner were very professional and easy to talk to. I was impressed that they could come out so quickly. Back story: All I needed was a new garbage disposal in a rental house. I've replaced several and it's so easy to do properly even the first time. I just didn't want to drive all the way there. Now the bad: I was told there was a trip fee of $69 which they charge just for coming out. It's applied to the final bill if they do the work. Not great but I went with it figuring there is no way the total would be over $200. Conner called me with the price of $600+ to replace the Badger 1/2 HP unit with the same thing. That is $117.48 for the unit at Home Depot and ~$500 labor for removing two pipe connectors (remove two bolts and loosen a slip nut), then unplugging the unit before twisting it to bring down the old unit. Installing the new unit involves the reverse. It took me thirty minutes the very first time I did it and about fifteen minutes the last time I did it. I paid the trip fee and arranged for another plumber to do the work for unit cost plus $87 labor. Guess who I'll call in the future? Conclusion: Pleasant people that I would like to be able to do business with and I'm sure they do great work. However, there is no way I can afford their prices and it's insulting to me that they would try. I hate to leave negative reviews, so I'll conclude with "Great people if you don't mind their prices". read more

Connor Thoden did an amazing job installing our toilets. He installed three toilets, one on each floor with a bidet on the top floor. Very professional, asked how he could make us comfortable throughout the process, walked us through what he was doing, was very efficient & even took our old toilets. Cleaned up very well & did a great job caulking each toilet & taking great care as to not damage the tile. I recommend him to anyone. read more

Problem is quite complex, unlike anything he'd ever seen before, so he patiently spent 3 hours here thoroughly walking thru all potential problem areas to ensure he could fully assess the situation. Found out they were charging people for electrical meter boxes that they picked up at the utility for free. When the utility found out about this they changed the bill to charge for pick up. Not a very honest firm in my opinion. Your mileage may vary read more

The pipes at my house are frozen (no running water) and a technician came by and told us they'd have to come back tomorrow to "shock" them back. After they no showed the appointment I called to find out that not only did they cancel the appointment without alerting me, they were unable to solve the problem. Because they didn't have the decency to let me know I spent all day waiting for them instead of finding a plumber who COULD complete the service. We've been waiting over a month for service. Michael and Son installed our mini-split system ~4 years ago. This summer, it stopped cooling. They sent a technician to diagnose it (took three weeks to schedule, but I get it, it was peak summer in DC), who said that there was a leak somewhere and he'd need to return to do a leak test. This was on a Friday and he said that someone would be calling me early the following week to schedule a follow-up appointment. It's been over a month and still no one has called. I have contacted Michale and Son five times and talked to five different customer service reps who were all quite nice, apologetic, and confused as to why no one has called us. Each time they call the service department to figure out what the delay is and each time they told me that no one answered but they'd email/follow up with service to ensure that someone called me back. We are now in the "call every day" part of the process to get some answers. They've effectively ghosted me. I just don't understand how a national, well-respected and well-reviewed company, who did good work with us in the past, is now just ignoring us. I'd really love some answers, or at least for our system to be fixed, as it's been over a month in the middle of summer. read more

I had a technician named Haider Ali come to my home to make a repair to an attic furnace. This clown had the audacity to remove from my system and leave with a simple three amp fuse from my furnace to make the system inoperable for the purpose of selling me a brand new system. This guy didn't even inspect the outside unit, but still immediately said the entire system had to be replaced, when all that was needed was a simple fuse replacement. I could sniff this guy's BS out from a mile away so I had another company, DONMAR, an ethical and honest company come out today. They replaced the 3 amp fuse and the system is up and running working as normal. 10 minutes. In and out. This was a fuse replacement and nothing more. Haider, and the people who employ him, Michael & Son are the most unethical, unscrupulous, dishonest thieves out there. I can't stress how terrible they are to work with. What a shame that a company has to resort to dishonest tactics like that in order to pay for their ads on the radio. Absolutely the worst. I hope this gets around to everyone and I hope that people wake up and stop using Michael and Son. And for the Technician, "Haider Ali" I hope his certifications are revoked and this criminal is reported and he never enters into people's homes so he can spread more of his BS. read more

I hired Michael & Son Services to install two 1.5-ton HVAC systems in my home. After installation, I started experiencing serious performance issues with the system. It became clear that there were both sizing and component problems. I reported the issue during the warranty period, and the company acknowledged part of the problem and promised to replace the compressor. However, they have refused to address other major issues or provide any schedule for repairs. I've followed up multiple times through phone and email but have received no response or action. To this day, my system remains unrepaired. The lack of follow-up, professionalism, and responsibility is unacceptable--especially for a company of this size. If you're considering using Michael & Son for HVAC installation, I strongly suggest looking for another contractor who stands by their work and honors their warranty. read more
