While out of town, the house sitter noticed that the AC was not cooling. I put a call in to M&S as a Gold Plan Home Care subscriber. Knowing it was getting close to end of day, I figured maybe the next day, or following day, at latest, they would show, and service the unit. From the evidence I was able to see it seemed like a capacitor issue. Just incase, I shut the system off, let the fan run overnight (Ecobee Smart Premium) to see if that was the issue, it was not. So while on the call, I commented that I thought it was the capacitor, the call center informed me that the PRIORITY SERVICE that the GOLD PLAN provides me would schedule service 40 days later. I have a problem with 40 days being considered priority. This will be the last year I will be paying for service that does not serve. Seems like false advertisement to me. I ended up calling a friend, they came over next day, it was a faulty thermostat, they spent two hours diagnosing it, replaced the thermostat that M&S installed (should be under warranty -- wonder how long that will take to process), and got the house cooling once again. I pay a company for a service such that I don't have to ask friends for favors. But why pay for a service that does not work? -- how much did my friend charge? only for the thermostat, no travel, no holiday, no overtime, nothing, except the thermostat--- That is PRIORITY Are they more expensive per service call, sure. Do they do the work requested, sure (just apparently need to wait). Are they courteous, yes. Can you side step the office and pay their employees under the table, sometimes you can, but it is not much of a discount. read more

JERK company. They will tell you they are coming for a 3:30PM appointment when you have a leaking pipe.... Re-assure you at 5PM that they are still coming.... then NEVER F******* SHOW UP!!!!! Did they call us to release us from waiting for them, so that we could go out to dinner and have an evening as planned? NOPE. The message never reached us because they couldn't be bothered to treat their customer right. 12 hours later after their appointment, it's 4AM and we have NO CLUE and NO INDICATION of when they are coming. It's not hard. We spoke on the phone and gave all the info. They sent us email confirmations. If a company is already lying to you before they show up, it's not someone you want to work with. UPDATE: The following morning, the person who answered the Yelp message said they weren't sure why they didn't show up. So... They don't even know what's going on with their own employees, it seems. Our plumbing technician Eric Kang was extremely helpful and efficient. He really took the time to understand the problem before confidently explaining the replacement he would need to perform. He had everything he needed already with him and replaced multiple pipelines as well as the pressure gage that was causing the issue. Thrilled with the immediate fix. (Our water pressure had dropped so low we couldn't even shower and the hot water would run out within minutes.) Michael & sons sent him out the same day that I called for service and Eric was extremely punctual. Came to around $800 which was worth it and honestly unavoidable. It's not always fun being a homeowner but it makes it easier when you truly get great service and an ongoing issue is finally resolved. read more

First the good: Everyone I spoke to while both setting the appointment and the technician, Conner were very professional and easy to talk to. I was impressed that they could come out so quickly. Back story: All I needed was a new garbage disposal in a rental house. I've replaced several and it's so easy to do properly even the first time. I just didn't want to drive all the way there. Now the bad: I was told there was a trip fee of $69 which they charge just for coming out. It's applied to the final bill if they do the work. Not great but I went with it figuring there is no way the total would be over $200. Conner called me with the price of $600+ to replace the Badger 1/2 HP unit with the same thing. That is $117.48 for the unit at Home Depot and ~$500 labor for removing two pipe connectors (remove two bolts and loosen a slip nut), then unplugging the unit before twisting it to bring down the old unit. Installing the new unit involves the reverse. It took me thirty minutes the very first time I did it and about fifteen minutes the last time I did it. I paid the trip fee and arranged for another plumber to do the work for unit cost plus $87 labor. Guess who I'll call in the future? Conclusion: Pleasant people that I would like to be able to do business with and I'm sure they do great work. However, there is no way I can afford their prices and it's insulting to me that they would try. I hate to leave negative reviews, so I'll conclude with "Great people if you don't mind their prices". read more

It was bought to my attention that on 5/7/26 the appointment with michael & sons turned out to be a grab for money there was never a problem with the shallow well pump the technician was observed turning the pressure screw to adjust the pressure in the pump until it started leaking the technician was trying to up sell us on a new pump this was definitely a shady tactic , I don't appreciate being overcharged for an estimate and the n having the technician trying to con us into getting a new pump i will never use michael & sons ever again , what was witnessed says a lot about what this company will do just to make a dollar , God is going to truly expose this company for who they really are. read more
