Worst customer service ever. We had purchased an industrial building in the warmer months.. and didn't give much thought to the fact that there was likely already a company on oil auto-delivery. So the cold weather came and we called Absolute to get an initial delivery & setup auto-delivery. They came, we paid them.. no problem. Then the original oil company (that the previous building owner had for many years) came here unknowing that the building had been sold to us. They told us that they are very familiar with the burner, the units inside the building (which are a bit older), the building itself, etc.. and they were less expensive per gallon. So we called Absolute to tell them to please cancel the auto-delivery as we decided to stick with the original company who's familiar with the property. I don't know if it was the owner or who got on the phone but he was extremely brash. The last thing he said to us was "you can take your account and stick it up your ***". We said okay thank you and never looked back. By the looks of some of the other reviews on here, it looks like we aren't the only ones treated this way. It's very unfortunate that people think they can talk to others that way, especially in what is supposed to be a business transaction. read more

This company is trash. I schedule same day delivery for Friday and told the woman on the phone that I'd be home all day long. She confirmed delivery and said she'd call me to let me know the time. I received the phone call but I was on a work call and called her back 10 minutes later. She said that I missed the delivery because I did not pick up my phone right away and that they would deliver Monday. The picking up phone requirement was never communicated, and didn't make sense since delivery was already paid/confirmed. I told her to cancel because I needed oil today and she said no refunds per her website. I called my CC company and they said that the oil company cannot withhold payment for services not provided, so I will be getting my money back. Stay away from this company, it's absolutely horrible. If anything less than 1 start could be given I would. Literally the worst costumer service. Everyone is rude. We ordered oil only filled out the form as directed. Opted to leave a check on the door as it is one of the options. Then they come to deliver and the driver insists on cash. We call the office and they proceed to yell at us. Why make a check payment an option if it isn't. Rather go cold than to order from these people again. read more

This company should be avoided at all cost. The lady who answered the phone was rude, and made us beg and plead for assistance while we were away and our oil ran out. Said she had a truck, but made us jump through hoops to reset our oil burner on our own. We called back and said we reset it and she callously said the truck left your city and he's not coming back. Their driver backed off my driveway and crushed it. i came out and took pictures while he was still pumping oil. i asked to to write an acknowledgement on my slip that he damaged my driveway. he holds the slip up to my face and tears it up and drives away swearing at me. the company owner will not return my calls and they refused to sign the registered letter i sent. now dealing with the AG's office, the BBB and my attorney....the damage is almost $ 3,000....never ever call this company !!!!! read more

Horrible customer service, will not use them again, nor should you. They don't deserve your money. Had them fill my tank in this past April without issue. Called them to fill my tank again for this winter and they said they are only taking existing customers. I said I am not a new customer, please look me up. The women on the phone looked me up. She confirmed I was not a new customer and states my last delivery was in April. She then rudely told me my fill up this past spring was too far back and they would not fill my tank. It hasn't even been 9 months. WTF??? So from now on when my 275 gallon tank needs to be filled, which can cost $600-700 to fill, they will not get any money from me. Do not do business with Absolute Oil unless you thoroughly enjoy a lack of ethics and professionalism. Absolute Oil is the ABSOLUTE epitome of classless standards. I was verbally demeaned and humiliated by their phone representative over an order issue. "Stupid" was her favorite word to describe me in a volatile manner when I tried to fix an order I had placed online. Then she tried to charge me an extra .05¢ per gallon after constantly belittling me. As someone who works in customer service, never in my life have I ever encounter this type of cruel service. Not only had this "employee" acted this way, but she also had the nerve to hang up the conversation when I informed her I would replace the order online. She told me that I "should have gotten it right the first time" and proceeded to end the conversation. Let me be crystal clear, I will ABSOLUTELY never do business with this low class business ever again. The same goes for all of my extensive family and friends in the community. Their driver called me a "moron" over the phone. Now if I'd said something stupid, I'd let that slide. But I'm a pretty rational guy.

My husband and I were optimistic after a good first experience with Absolute Oil Company -- we called, we left payment and they delivered oil to our home. Given this, when we needed more oil a couple months later, we of course called them back. We spoke to a person who said they were only "an answering service" and that our call would be returned within 24 hours. After 24 hours, we did not hear from them and called them back to see what was happening. Was the oil going to be delivered?? If yes, when? Where should we leave payment? Basically, what was the deal? Again, we got the answering service person with no answers for us again. They said they would call back ----- crickets yet again. Two days later we finally get a call back from a very rude woman who told us the oil was attempted to be delivered the day before. Say what?! She was happy to blame us for everything and spoke over my husband every chance she had. Absolute Oil would be wise to note there are over a dozen other oil companies in our area that we would be more than happy to utilize who don't yell at their customers on the phone. Hope this helps in choosing your supplier for oil. read more

One of the worse companies out there. Tried to purchase oil and the rude woman on the phone asked me how will I be paying. After I said check, she asked which bank. When I told her the bank, she said that bank does not do check verifications so they wouldn't be able to accept it and hung up the phone. Who does that? I guess they don't need my business......Honestly I think I am done with oil all together, most of the companies are difficult to deal with and the price is outrageous. read more

Since we don't live in the property the address on our credit card happen to be in New Hampshire the woman I was speaking to told me that they don't take out of state credit cards my response was "what does it matter". I then offered my partners credit card that lives in Massachusetts but then she proceeded to tell me that she doesn't have the time to deal with multiple credit cards. I should have read the reviews before I chose this company. They filled the wrong unit and only gave me 50 gallons instead of the 100 that I had already paid for. Absolutely the WORST customer service-they don't even deserve 1 star. The ower is the rudest man I have ever spoken with, I can't believe they treat loyal customers this way who have used them for years. From the looks of the reviews, we aren't the only ones. We are in the process of selling our home and the buyers didn't want the oil tank filled. Our realtor requested that our oil company provide an estimate prior to the closing of approximately how much oil is left in the tank and send us this information on their letterhead. He said that most oil companies in the area do this. Debbie, one of the owners, absolutely refused to do this and told me they don't even have letterhead. Her husband, Phil, called me back and proceeded to brow beat and yell at me for several minutes telling me, in essence, that our realtor and lawyer don't know what they're doing. I finally asked him not to yell at me and he hung up on me. That's right, he hung up on a customer who has given him business for years! This company is horrible to deal with. They presented themselves as a full service company when in fact they farm out their heating repair to someone whose expertise/ethics are very questionable. They were paid for delivery and then when we balked at some over the top solution and cost (ripping out a perfectly good valve) for $500.00 when it simply got caught the first time turning it on, we never heard from them again. I repeatedly was told by Debby that she would be looking into the heating issue and following up........no follow up, no delivery leaving us with no follow up at all.........so many better options. I have to give a shout out to Absolute. Today, the day after the Blizzard of 2015, I called for a delivery to my mothers house because her oil company messed up her automatic deliveries. Her house was not yet plowed out and they trudged through 2 feet of snow to make the delivery and ensure my mother did not run out of oil. They were eager to please, friendly and understanding. I've been a customer for 1.5 yrs for oil and they have always been very good. Lowest price and always there when I need them. I can't rave about them or say anything negative. They just deliver the oil I need at a better price than others, and every time I've talked to them, they've been helpful. I seem to recall that it did take a couple of calls to talk to them initially and start delivery, but if you want a big company with lots of receptionists waiting for your call, call the other guys and pay their prices. read more

Incredibly disappointing. We arranged a new delivery set up, which we were told would need to be COD. The delivery arrived early in the morning while my wife was stuck in carpool traffic. We called, apologized, and asked for a re-delivery. During this call, the customer service person repeatedly interrupted with "you should have left a blank check, we drove all the way out there..." etc. I apologized profusely and asked the oil to be delivered the next day. I promised to leave a blank check taped to the door, which I proceeded to do. The next morning, my wife called Absolute Oil and told them the check was there waiting. We waited 2 weeks for delivery. My wife called to find out what was going on, and the customer service person chewed her out again for the initial screw up. She then proceeded to tell my wife that they decided not to deliver oil to us after all. Honestly, if they decided not to take us on because we screwed up that first delivery, that's their right, and I would respect that. My concern is that they never indicated this in either of the two conversations my wife and I had with them afterward. That's just poor business. I'm also disgusted by the way the customer service person spoke to both my wife and myself. Glad to take my business elsewhere. read more

So this is the worst oil company you could possibly TRY to deal with. Where should I start? The customer service horrible women was EXTREMELY rude on the phone and less then helpful to say the least....NOT TO MENTION she did not call back right away then she REFUSED to help us while we already sent a check to them on Saturday. My mother just recently passed away, her checking account was tied up in probate, I sent them their check for $300 as soon as the money was available, we were scheduled for an auto delivery in this deep freeze, they would not bring it till payment was received, But yet they wouldn't take my debit card over the phone with an out of state address. I then called with a card with a in state address, they ran it, won't deliver too us anymore because of the out of state address, also a check for that same invoice is on route to them right now. I love paying double for shitty customer service and terrible company policies. read more

Their oil is cheap but these people aren't worth dealing with. After checking their website exhaustively to find out when they stop delivering on weekends and not finding any evidence that they'd stopped, I ordered oil for what I assumed was next day delivery. I got a phone call early the next morning (by the way if you screen your calls, they will never leave a message, you have to call them back to get verbally abused live). When I returned the call, they put me on 'hold' for a few minutes (hold = slamming the phone receiver onto a hard surface and walking away, swearing at someone). When the woman I dealt with finally picked up she informed me very bluntly that my oil wasn't coming until Monday. I asked her why, and apparently that's way too much. She said we're OBVIOUSLY a seasonal business and you can't expect us or any oil company to deliver on weekends in the spring. I told her okay thanks for letting me know, but you might want to clarify that on your website because it's unclear. She asked what kind of idiot would assume they'd deliver on a weekend in early april. Apparently this idiot. The savings on oil aren't worth the verbal abuse. Taking my business elsewhere. read more
