Just returned home from a short weekend stay at the Acacia. We were in one of the ocean front rooms with a private balcony, on the top floor. First the positives - The views could not have been any better. The resort was exceptionally clean, and the colors were perfect for the beach. I loved the wood accent wall in the bedroom area. The kitchenette was perfect for our needs as well. We loved the balcony. The kids loved the heated pool. The resort was quiet as well. BUT....THE BEDS. Oh, my goodness. I actually thought about going to buy air mattresses. (If we were spending more than another night I would have.) No one got any sleep as the bedroom mattress are rock hard, and the sleeper couch, is covered in plastic, and you can feel every spring. The pillows were very thin too, so coupled with the hard mattress, it was a very uncomfortable time. Others have noted that the parking is tight - it is super convenient, but I definitely agree that the spots are small for SUV's or minivans. Overall, we would love to come back, as it really is beautiful, but we won't be back unless I read somewhere that the beds were updated. Bring your own pillows! read more

I booked this for a weekend vacation. In summer these resort rooms go for $300-400. Location: the property is on the beach. You can walk to the beach from the property. Parking: for guests available. Room: the room is big and spacious. The TV is old and was not working. It has a small glass-top stove, fridge, and microwave. Cleanliness: great. room and property. It has a pool. The location was great. It has entrance to the beach right off the property. The property area was clean and accessible all around. The pool was clean and well maintained. Rooms were bigger than we had thought. Overall it was clean and setup nicely. Ample Bathroom and Kitchen supplies were provided, something that we were not expecting. Parking was right under neath the building, and conveniently accessible as well. Outside the room there are 2 separate areas with BBQ machines and picnic table. This was a nice touch especially for party traveling with families. Bathroom needs remodeling. Cleanliness was ok, but definitely can be improved. The furnitures (most of them) is due for an upgrade as the beds and sofa in our room was not sturdy. Overall a good stay. read more

If I could give Acacia 100 stars, I would. I have been going there for several years with my sisters for a girls week. We wouldn't even look at another place. Most importantly, the grounds, pool and the room are immaculate. The staff is always diligent about maintaining the property. It is a pleasure being greeted by the front desk team with a smile on their faces. Alex, the maintenance supervisor, showed great patience, as we had to call him several times cause we kept pushing the wrong buttons for the tv. horrible service. made reservations earlier in the year on the phone with the front desk. was told if price goes down to call back and they will adjust the rates. well several months later rates went down. called and was told they do not honor the rates if they go down. I said i was told I could and even had the name of the person I spoke too. was told she is gone and under new management. had to cancel first reservation and do a new one for the lower rate. the worse thing is is that we were on their website today and noticed it said they are closed for the season on such and such a date. well our reservations were for the time they are closed. how could they take my reservation for a time they are not even open. I did the reservation direct with the staff, not some online booking process. Had we not noticed they are closed we would have drove 4 hours to an empty/closed hotel. not much an apology either. stayed there last year but under this new management/ownership, stay clear. read more

Location, location, location. That's the best thing the Acacia has going for it, but overall it's a decent place to stay for a trip to the shore. Not fancy, but well-maintained and clean are the rooms and pool area. The patio area has nice tables and umbrellas next to two gas grills, that are used often, including by our group who occupied two rooms during a recent stay. Terrific beachfront location at a fantastic public beach is the key here, and it's very convenient if you're going to the beach every day like my family does when we go here. read more

My last time at the Acacia is the last time at the Acacia. I wouldn't be sending this here, but when they asked for responses on Facebook, they took this post down. 1. Entirely too small parking spaces. My wife hurt herself loading things into the car because she could barely open the doors to hang clothes. 2. Rooms very poorly maintained. Housekeeping isn't reporting to Maintenance things that need to be fixed like outlets not working, appliances that are broken. Kitchen utensil and cookware understocked. Light bulbs out. Plugs without electricity because the breaker was off. 3. Bedding seemed to be from a flea market, or garage sale. They used to have bedspreads here. Now it's army surplus blankets, and the beds aren't even made. I wonder if they are following any Covid 19 Prevention protocol at all. THIS ALONE WOULD STOP ME FROM EVER COMING BACK HERE. The first morning they made up the room they didn't make the beds. They pulled up the sheets and blankets, but didn't tuck them in, and just plopped the pillows back on the bed. For the price we paid, this is far and away totally unacceptable anywhere. I usually leave $10 a night, but due to their lack of interest in doing their job, we only left $5 for each night... which to me is pathetic, and I was questioning myself about leaving anything. TIPS = To Insure Professional Service. Total fail here. 4. The bathroom was a joke. The bathroom sink stopper was missing, so we couldn't plug the drain while shaving, or if something fell in there it'd be gone down the drain. The outlet in the bathroom was not working. At first, I thought the nightlight just needed a new bulb. Towels weren't replaced, just depleted. 5. The refrigerator worked but just barely. The control for the freezer was broken and spun like it wasn't connected. When we got to the room, the refrigerator temperature was so high, I wasn't sure it was cooling at all. They don't have ice cube trays either, so you must buy ice from the front desk. 6. We called for an early check in the day before and were told to ask on the day we were coming. No problem, we called on the way down about 1pm while on the road and were read the standard response that they can't guarantee it but would certainly allow us to park and use the facilities. After this experience, I think that management is afraid of housekeeping, and they didn't want to push them to take a step out of their routine to accommodate a border coming in an hour earlier to an empty room. 7. The last night we were there, some of the guests decided to ignore the 'quiet time' and were out on the deck babbling and cackling until 3 a.m. I'd have called management, but by then I was sure, no one would have responded. 8. no phones??? - so we couldn't even call in a pizza if we wanted. We stayed at the Acacia with my husband and my little service dog on the very beginning of June , 2019 . I will definitely recommend this place to everyone! Its nice ,clean, cozy and conveniently located .The staff of the Acacia is very nice ! I was coming to the beach not for fun but for the healing and was worry what if I will arrive and I will find my self in some dirty, filthy , noisy place and my healing trip will turn into traumatizing trip, but everything was excellent ! Love the location! Beach front:) We are staying from June 21-June 25th, Thursday -Monday. Got a great deal with military discount. They also accept AAA discount. The room is a one bedroom apt. condo. The rooms have two queen size beds. Sink in the room, large closet, tv armoire. The bathroom is large and stocked with towels & wash cloths. They supply you with soap, lotion, shampoo & conditioner. The apartment has a large 6 chair table, only four chairs in the condo. The kitchen and living room is all open. The kitchen has two burners, toaster is provided, coffee maker also & stocked with plates, cups, utensils & cook wear. And a full size fridge/freezer. So fantastic! Down side:( no blow drier:( LOL! Not a deal breaker at all. There are grills out in the patio community area. Plenty of tables with umbrellas. They have a pool, depth 2-8ft deep. Washer & dryer in the facility. It's $2 to per machine to use. They sell ice also. The town is beautiful and clean. The beach is beautiful and clean. read more

We enjoyed our stay at the Acacia. The owners are involved in operations and were very friendly and accommodating. The pool was heated. It's your typical Jersey shore hotel ...but has been cared for and shows it. It is rather far from the boardwalk, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Sand, sand and more sand!! Only 5 seats around the pool. Everything was pretty clean besides there was sand all over. They do not keep the main areas of the hotel swept so you drag it into your room. My wife wanted to celebrate our 11th year anniversary with something a little different and she chose WildWood, NJ... We had our first real date there when we started going out almost 15 years ago. The hotel was a little dated, but cozy. The staff was friendly and the over all appearance of the hotel was clean and well maintained. There was a decent sized pool and 2 decks to lay out on if you so chose. There were also Gas Grills that were able to be used on those decks. The beach was a stones throw away and there was an ocean view. Granted you had to turn your head 90 degrees to see it but it was there. The hotel wasn't very crowded as it seems we visited during the last week or two of the "slow/off" season. It was a 5-7 minute drive to the boardwalk which was not a big deal. Bottom line: We would go back and stay again. read more

We been going here for last 3 years and it has been good experience every time. Loved the Ocean view rooms (2nd & 3 Rd floor equally have good views), house keeping is decent and BBQ grill is useful, swimming pool is good for kids and being the first property to the beach is very convenient although it is a bit far to get to the water but that goes for all of Wildwood. If we are not renting a house this year we would have come here for sure. read more

Stayed here for the weekend and it's a great place. Literally a hop skip and jump from the beach (with its own entrance to said beach). Far enough from the boardwalk that it's quiet and peaceful when trying to rest but close enough that a 5 min drive and you're right there. The pool was very nice and warm as well on what was the only chilly day there. Will definitely be back and already looking forward to staying here read more

I loved this hotel. Pros: friendly staff, good rates, easy beach access, nice common area w/ clean grills and view of the ocean. Cons: Could use an update, but really only if you're picky. Noisy over busy weekends - think convention weekends or beach week. The walls are just thin enough. We stayed here in June of 2015. The few days we were there, there was a cold front hovering over NJ and it was 50 degrees with rain and wind. Awful. The staff was incredibly friendly, and the suite was clean and cozy. Staff offered info on good places to eat and play, and even turned up the heat in the pool so we could enjoy a swim! I don't have any complaints. I would love to go back if the opportunity arises and would definitely recommend it to families looking to stay at the jersey shore. I'm not picky, so I'm sure if you're OCD you could be more critical. I'm ADD and the ocean is pretty. read more

The location is fantastic, right on the beach. If not for that, I'd be giving a one. Everything else is mediocre or below-average. The rooms are fine. The bathrooms are pretty gross. It's also barely a hotel nonetheless a resort. It's a borderline motel. No room cards just keys. The worst part were the other guests. Some people were nice, normal, diverse families. But there were low-class white trash type people smoking constantly. Smoking shouldn't be allowed on the hotel grounds but I guess they know the people they attract. I have never seen the amount of chain smoking from these two sisters. They were mid fifties, overweight, veiny hairy legs, and had the same hairdos as Patty and Selma from the Simpsons. They had no conduct or respect for other guests. If you don't mind that and gross bathrooms, then this is the place for you. Otherwise go a few blocks down to the Icona or other places by Diamond Beach or Cape May. read more

This place was perfect. Went for an extended girls weekend trip and had a blast. The room was clean and a great deal. Love the ocean view!! The hotel is right on the beach so you have a very short walk from your room to the water. We spent every day on the beach and in the ocean. When we would make our way back to the room around 3pm the room was clean with fresh towels and the beds were made up. We loved having the kitchenette to use. They provide pans to cook with and dishes and glasses to use. If you are looking for an affordable beach escape than Acacia is the place to go! read more

Great place! Kitchenette! Perfect size beds. Very clean. They have cutlery,pots,pans,can opener,strainer,dish detergent! Very nice pool. Great customer service. About 10 min walk to amusement park but it's beautiful to walk on sand. I walked with my fiance and 3 year old son in Sand to amusement park didn't feel tired. I felt great! This was our first time in Wildwood, and I am happy to say that we will be returning next year! The motel is located at the end of St. Louis street, right next to the ocean. Our efficiency suite was very clean, nothing fancy, but perfect for our family of six. The staff was very friendly. Acacia is located a couple miles from the boardwalk, a little further than some other establishments but in a very quiet area. Most of the other customers seemed to be older folks or families with smaller children. Very family friendly! We will definitely be staying here for our getaway next summer and I would recommend Acacia to anyone staying in Wildwood with their family! read more

We had an awful experience with the Acacia recently. Upon checking in, we were informed that our room was not ready because they had accidently given it to somebody else. Once that issue was taken care of, we were able to get settled into our mess of a room. The room was a disaster. The carpets were not cleaned, the screen door and lamp were broken, and our sheets were stained, just to name a few things. The icing on the cake was the cockroach that crawled past my 1 year old daughter while she was playing with her toys. We immediately called down to the front desk who informed us that the manager would not be coming down to meet with us. Upon bringing the roach down to the front desk, where other guests where, we were berated and threatened with the cops because we "were spreading lies" (the roach was in a cup with us). Instead of trying to salvage any customer service etiquette they had left, they told us that we had to leave the roach and wait for an exterminator to verify that this bug was indeed a roach, instead of asking what could be done to rectify this situation. We were moved to another hotel and received no compensation for our stay. We still have not heard back from the staff regarding this incident. Some service from a staff who's job it is to make sure you feel comfortable. read more

My wife and I stay in Wildwood once or twice a year. We have stay at several of the resorts over the years. This was the first time we stayed in the Acacia.I would give the Acacia 3 stars. The staff seemed friendly They have an elevator (Always a plus when checking in and out.). The room was clean and maintained (If a bit dated). The beds were atypical of what you find in the Wildwood resorts as a whole. (meaning hard and uncomfortable and should have been replaced about ten years ago). The front room was spacious with a large table, the sofa(bed) was comfortable to sit on. We did not use the pull out bed. The bathroom was clean and only about ten years out of style (LOL). The first morning, my wife took a shower and found no hot water. But a call to the number on the front desk door (6AM) got the issue resolve quickly. Now for my dislikes. The hotel WIFI is a JOKE!!!. I had my smart phone, a laptop and my Surface Pro. All of which had a hard time connecting. And once connected had no internet access. Ditto for my wife's phone. The only other crappy thing was the television, one tv need two remotes to work it. and the sound and picture were the worst. And I think that's because it wass an old tube tv hooking up to a digital signal. The tv in the bedroom was a little better it only needed one remote, but it would not power the set on. You need to power it on at the TV. Most times it would shut it off. And the picture and sound was far better then the front room set. read more

They Have BED BUGS. I visited this place this summer and I thought everything was ok until one night me and my wife was laying in the bed and she mentioned to me that she just got bit by something. At first I though my be a mosquito or spider but as the night went on she began to complain about more votes so we checked the bed and looked for bugs but didn't see any. We both eventfully switched to the other bed on the room. When we woke up we both had mutiple bites on our bodies that all took place under the covers. So I begin to check with my children and two of states they had received mutiple bites and we're really itchy. So this caused me to become very concerned and I began to look for what I was hoping wasn't bed bugs and come to find out it was. PISSED OFF I contacted the manager who IMEDIATELY DENIED THE POSIIBLY OF BED BUGS. I demanded that he refund my hotel stay and conduct an immediate extermination in which he agreed to an extermination only once he verified bed bugs. So he called me back 2 days later and told me everything is fine but didn't provide me any written documentation of the company who conducted the inspection and quickly told me they have never had a bed bug issue and we must have received those votes outside. I replied to him that bedbug issues take place inside and I am very familiar with look of them and their bite marks they leave. So I took pictures of our bodies and sent them to the hotel manager and it made difference they were no help and had the nerve to tell me that if I leave a negative review they have a legal team who will deal with me. We stayed here one night after deciding last minute that we wanted a Wildwood overnight. Lucky to get the last room, we were pleased to see how neat and clean the room was. Honestly, not a stray hair or crumb to be found. This motel is right on the beach in quiet Wildwood Crest. Received a top notch recommendation for dinner from the man at the desk too!
