Want to preface this by saying it was an amazing experience, and we loved dining at Acadia, but I will shed light on the "negatives"/things to look out for. We decided to come and dine here at around 5:45 PM on a Saturday night and it was fully booked. Without a reservation we were given the option to sit at the bar or at the cocktail tables. Decided to sit at the cocktail tables which was a very comfortable booth and a small circular table. We ended up having our entire meal there as no tables that opened up for us to move to during our time dining. The second minor downfall was that the cocktail tables were near the door and it was quite chilly outside as it is January, so we had a few cold gust of wind when the door was open. Now onto everything we LOVED about dining at Acadia!!! The atmosphere was lovely. Very well decorated, overall clean and well polished. Started off with drinks, I ordered a whiskey sour and our waiter told me of a special drink they were doing, which was an apple pie whiskey sour, so I changed my order to that, and it was very delicious. It was different than what I'm used to, but still very enjoyed. We also had a cocktail with bourbon and it was strong and well made! Our appetizer was so incredible we debated ordering a second one just so we could enjoy it again! The Charred Octopus is a must try when visiting Acadia. Personally would revisit just to try this small dish again. For entrees we had the calsonehs and the marinated black cod. The pasta dish was creamy, very cheesy but not overpowering, and overall worth trying. The cod was delicious and the turnips and grapefruit that it was paired with was a perfect combination. Again overall worth trying. Both our entrees were so good and looking at the menu there were other entrees that looked just as good. Dessert was the chocolate hazelnut mousse cake. So rich! The perfect dessert to finish off our night out. Bonus: all the staff were friendly and helpful!! Would definitely return to Acadia to explore more of the menu and to most definitely enjoy the charred octopus one more time! read more

I came in on a Sunday night after watching a show. My friend and I grabbed seats at the bar. We shared all of our food and it was all amazing. We started with the flatbread and green tahina. Delicious. Then shared the shiitake/leek ravoli, Moroccan cigar and garlic shrimp. All were good, but the ravoli and cigar are a must! We then shared the Israeli chopped salad, so good! We then shared the hangar steak skewers. Also great. We finished our meal with the malabi panna cotto dessert. So delicious. We didn't feel like drinking alcohol so ordered the cucumber mint lemonade, very refreshing. Service was good too and it's beautiful inside, love the open kitchen even though you can't really see it from the bar. Overall, really happy we chose to come here! read more

We were there for dinner last night with friends. Lance was excellent but the food was not. The hummas was the exception. Fried cauliflower and artichokes were soggy and oil laden. The garlic shrimp were over cooked and chewy. The salmon was just ordinary. Have to say the dinner was altogether uninspiring and poorly prepared. We aren't tourists. I had a reservation for weeks, with a show at Carnegie Hall to follow. When I got to the restaurant, there were no tables and the hostess took us upstairs to a "more intimate room" which had small bar tables that she offered to put together. Dry flat thin pitta bread triangular pieces with Falafel balls on top of it with one tomato & some greens were absolutely Not authentic. Food was excellent, but regrettably we were treated rudely from the beginning, particularly by the hostess working that evening. She even stopped me abruptly and blocked my way while I was walking to the bathroom, coming uncomfortably close to me to ask me where I was going. I was walking to the bathroom while we were waiting for a table or the bar to open up. Also, as I was walking and had stepped aside to let a waiter carrying food pass me, the same hostess rudely came up to me telling me I was in the way when I stepped aside. Even though the waiter kindly smiled and nodded in a thanks. There is a long somewhat tight walkway by the windows when walking to or from the bathroom because of the tables on both sides, so one person must step aside and I let the waiter through. The behavior was really inappropriate. Sadly, we will not be going back and we are not able to recommend this restaurant to anyone. Like many places in NYC, due to the costs of just being in NYC...it's pricey. This was the main thing I came away with. Pricey and small portions for the price. I left feeling hungry and in need of a substantial snack. The good news is that the food itself is really quite good. Creamy Hummus was delicious as was the bread that came with it...but this needed three times the amount of bread to go with the amount of hummus. The spicy feta with harissa BBQ sauce was also delicious, but came with nothing to dip into it...We all had skewers as our main...but these are really like a second course...but priced like a main...Merguez seasoned Shrimp and Pomogranite glazed salmon were delicious yet slightly overcooked. The Beef Kofta was excellent. The King Oyster Mushrooms with eggplant were nice but had a really tough texture. I felt like we needed to order more, but the prices put us off ordering addition dishes. The atmosphere was attractive and I enjoyed the open kitchen, but it's very loud. Service started out good...polite, friendly, knowledgable staff...however no one seemed to be paying any attention to our water glasses. They were small, and only half filled to start and I had to request water three times. I would advise checking out the menu and understanding that the portions are small and you will likely need to order more dishes than we did. read more

Had the most amazing meal at Acadia. The vibes are great, food is delicious (so are the drinks) and the service was amazing. Our server, Lance, was so great and gave us very good recommendations. We love tableside preparation and really enjoyed hte "carmel sour" and the hummus. Our other favoirte bites were the greek salad, cauliflower, roasted lamb, and the silan. Enjoyed trying Acadia as we are regulars at their sister restaurant on the UWS, Dagon. The nice part of Acadia is they served Labeneh and Hummos as choices in the mezzo appetizers. The only issue is that the restaurant is a bit noisy and while the staff is friendly the are not very attentive. I had the bran info which was nicely prepared and delicious. The wine list is good but a bit overpriced. read more

I've been here twice now and enjoyed both times. The Kubaneh bread is the best bread in nyc. The bass was so flavorful and tender. The chicken is huge enough for 2 people and the drinks also huge. Great for pre show and a great addition to midtown. read more

Stunning place by Carnegie Hall! I definitely ordered the wrong entree for 1 and it made my experience say, rather not the best as I'd prefer it (Sat alone for dinner time before a show). Nevertheless, not only was the food actually good, but the servers and the service was beyond delightful. The manager ( I assume) was very attentive and hands on. Turned my experience around. We came here by chance since it was near our hotel and had reservations available for breakfast - it just opened this year. The interiors are so welcoming and VERY well designed. The food was so fresh and delicious. The service was impeccable and friendly. Acadia has became one of our favorite NYC restaurants - we ate there twice during our stay. We just hope a reservation is available during our next visit...it's that good! read more

Had dinner the other night, five of us. Ordered all the small plates. Both breads. Specials. And two main courses (black cod and lamb neck). I think the waiter was concerned we might not eat it all. We certainly did and the two desserts!! Food was amazing. Everything was so good. My favorites were the chicken liver mousse and the black cod but there were no dull or flat spots at all. Do not recommend. It's an open kitchen spot. We dined there twice, lunch and dinner since my office is nearby. Not worth the hype, mediocre food and very slow. The food took 45 minutes to come. The waiter kept apologizing and looked like he's helpless. The Chef is screaming in the kitchen just for asking mustard. I mean it's an open kitchen spot, have some common sense that people can hear you, plus please wear gloves. It's very unhygienic to touch food item specially if your guests can see you. We felt extremely rushed. Like the waiter came in 1 min after sitting for order. Yet food was super delayed. It made no sense. Suggestion to management that please make the food faster. People don't have hours for lunch. 45 minutes for a pastrami sandwich is totally unacceptable and stop screaming at people in an open spot. We wont be back. read more

I really enjoyed my first visit to Acadia. Although I only had apps they were delicious! The hummus was very tasty, came with warm bread - and the serving size was plenty generous. The atmosphere was busy and buzzing but not in a hectic way. I live in the neighborhood and we've been wanting to try Acadia since they opened a few weeks ago. Finally went tonight with my family. Wonderful food, we all loved our dishes. Salmon, lamb, steak and chicken. Great service and beautiful decor. Also-the flatbread is amazing. Don't miss out. There are many restaurants off of w 57th and midtown that are great but Acadia was fabulous and a wonderful addition to the neighborhood and a do not miss. We'll be back to try more food and cocktails soon! read more

My husband and I had dinner at Acadia earlier this year, on January 22, and enjoyed it so much that we've been planning to go back ever since. Therefore, I was very pleased to see that it was one of the few restaurants in our neighborhood which was accepting late dinner reservations, and I booked a 10pm table tonight (March 6) as our post-theater destination. Imagine my surprise and anger when I opened the calendar on my phone this morning, and discovered that Acadia had changed my 10pm reservation to 9:15pm without ever consulting me by phone or text to let me know, let alone asking my approval to do so. If I didn't happen to look at my calendar, I never would have known about the switch. Because of our theater plans, it would've been impossible for us to be at Acadia at 9:15, but that's not even the point. My husband is mobility-challenged, and going out at night has grown increasingly difficult for us, and is something of a special treat. If we had made the effort to go out, only to arrive at Acadia and discover that our reservation wouldn't be honored and the kitchen was closed, I would have exploded. I understand that fewer and fewer restaurants are keeping extended hours for staffing and economic reasons; what I *don't* understand is a venue making late reservations available, then changing them on their customers without notice. If Acadia cannot accommodate reservations past a certain hour, they shouldn't post them. Period. And to modify a reservation without the customer's permission or knowledge is unconscionable. It's a terrible business practice, and even though we live *on the same block*, I will make a point to never patronize them again. read more
