I ordered through DoorDash, so this review is purely on the food. My 5 year old son wanted the nature bowl with mango, cacao nibs, and strawberry. I got the berry me bowl. Both bowls were fantastic. My son told me he made a mistake by getting the cacao nibs because they were too hard and didn't taste like chocolate. I tried it and understood what he was saying. So lucky me, I got to put them in my bowl lol! He absolutely loved the açaí part. I'm very relieved that I got him the nature bowl because it didn't have any granola. I'm sure my son would've been turned off thinking they were nuts. When he couldn't finish, he put it in the fridge. I fully expected it to sit there for a week before we threw it away similar to his froyo leftovers. But to my surprise, he came back for his açaí bowl the same day! Another reason this bowl was great for him because the granola would've become soggy. As for my berry me bowl, delight in every bite. Loved the sweetness with the crunch of the granola. There is also something to be said about the granola. It was very light almost like rice krispy cereal! I really enjoyed it. Would definitely order again! read more

So i have been going to the Pasadena location for a few years now and decided to give the Monrovia location a try... today was my second attempt to try and like this location. The first time i went i gave them the benefit not the doubt mistakes happen. But this time the girl behind the counter was rude and had an attitude after thinking we only wanted to order one bowl. Once receiving the bowl it looked only half full and just thrown together.... Then can my bowl i had ordered 4 topping and only received two out of the four.... Truly my favorite acai place! Great portion, and they really understand the ratio of fruit to acai. They don't have a "ton" of seating but people are very friendly and are often willing to share a table as needed. (They have indoor and outdoor seating.) The employees are great as well. She literally just scooped a big spoon out of the Kirkland peanut butter jar and plopped it on top. We got the acai bowl and the protein shake. The acai bowl was ok. I've had a lot better acai bowls that were bigger and offered unlimited toppings (here, they only offered 3) for the same price. The chia pudding was also a little sour. The worst thing though was the protein shake. It felt like it was 90% WATER. I've never had a smoothie like this before. The protein shake especially should be creamy and thick because of the peanut butter and banana, which also usually give off a pretty strong taste. But this shake had the taste and consistency of water, with a very light hint of peanut butter. My family tried it too, and they were shocked at how much it literally tastes like water. Regarding the food it's good doesn't taste terrible. My issue is just that they're very sparse regarding how much of a topping they put especially for the price it's just not okay. I paid $11 for this "avacado toast" and it's literally just un toasted focaccia bread with some spread and not even a sprinkle of feta with two cherry tomatoes and arugula like come on. The place is really clean and welcoming, and the staff are very friendly! I bought the Berry Me Bowl and ohhhh man was it tasty! The acai itself was perfect and all of the berries were super fresh and the goji berries were not overly dry, dark, or wilted like I've experienced in the past at a couple other acai spots. I'm a little ashamed to say this but I couldn't help myself, I stopped in again after work to get a bowl for the ride home and that time I had the Cocabanana Bowl, the combination of the banana and cacao nibs was deeeeelicious! I found this place on Yelp because I really wanted an açaí bowl and o came across this place and saw that it was a small business so I decided to try it out! I have no regrets. This place's location is amazing it's located in Old town monrovia which is a fun area to eat or hang out. The owner Peter took my order and he was very kind and welcoming and he added extra toppings for free!! The shop itself is so cute and gives a quaint vibe. Craved Açaí late at night and I'm so glad this store closes at 10! Loved the chia seed pudding! Very flavorful. The actual açaí was super good as well, not too sweet and doesn't easily melt (which is something I really like). Toppings were generous and it really filled me up. Granola was crunchy and fruits were fresh. What would make açaí bar truly 5 stars is if they had unlimited toppings or at least don't charge extra for the BASIC toppings. I just didn't like that they charged extra for some of the toppings that at other places would be free. Overall though, I would highly recommend! I hadn't had anything else to eat so the gluten poisoning couldn't have come from somewhere else. About a month later, hoping the previous problem was a fluke I ordered another large bowl with gluten free granola. Not a fluke since I was in massive pain again not long after finishing the bowl.
