Mini Bowl with Granola, Blueberries, Strawberries and Nutella on the Side
    Leah W.

This is my second time trying Acai Brasil as my first visit was great, but at a different location. I ordered a Mini Bowl with Granola, Blueberries, Strawberries and Nutella on the Side. Everything in the bowl tasted fine but my strawberries, and while the picture isn't doing it justice, they gave me so many!! While the strawberries might look bright and red, they had a subtle garbage/spoiled smell and taste that I could not get past. The strawberries may not have been old but they were more than likely on their last leg. I didn't want to waste my food so I just took them off and ate everything else but I hate that I couldn't even enjoy my bowl how I wanted. On a positive note, the blueberries were fresh, the acai was good and smooth and the Nutella was delicious. I'm not quite done with Acai Brasil just yet but I don't know if i'd return to this specific location.

This spot is the first acai spot in the city I've found that carries Brazilian street food and Brazilian soda. What a treat! Overall, even though my chicken coxinha came straight from the heat lamp, and my bowl was a bit difficult to eat, packed to the brim with toppings, I'm not complaining. I bet the fresh coxinha would be fire as they were pretty dang good after sitting. My very berry bowl was refreshing. The acai was tart and just about the right sweetness level after adding honey. Again, they really pack on the toppings, and the coconut flakes are thinly sliced, wide slivers of perfection! On my trip I was the only one who did not take their order to go, but I'm fine with that, the shop was clean and I don't mind the extra space to stretch out. Nothing really stood out in terms of customer service, or product, but everything was satisfactory enough to earn a return visit! Açaí Brasil, I'll be back!

I'm late to the açaí superfoods craze. This incredible berry has been popularized the past few years as a very beneficial berry full of nutrients. I stopped here for dessert after eating dinner in the same shopping strip. The inside was bright and clean. I was surprised to learn that they served Brazilian street food here as well, which I will have to try at a later time. Smoothies are also offered here as well, but the star of the show are the açaí bowls. There's many combinations to choose from, with a mixture of mostly fruit or granola toppings. The fruit was nice and fresh. You can even swap out the açaí for dragon fruit. It's definitely a healthier option than ice cream or gelato and just as yummy! The $12 price tag for a medium cup with less than half of it being açaí is pretty high, but the tasty high quality ingredients show through. Definitely worth another visit!

Açaí Brasil comes in clutch because there is not many açaí places on this side of town. This place is nice and big and offers plenty of seating. It's clean inside and out and has easy parking! They offer many açaí and smoothie options! They also offer Brazilian street food! I chose to build my own açaí bowl which was made up of: açaí, granola, blueberries, coconut flakes, a scoop of Nutella & condensed milk! It was delicious but I am used to a bigger portion at mamaka bowls for a small. I paid around $11. They charge you $.75 for honey and at mamaka's they have the honey out and you can pour how ever much you want without extra charge. The young lady taking my order was nice and didn't give me a hard time about anything. Overall this place is nice to have around for when I'm craving açaí I don't want to drive all the way in to the city.

The place is really neat and clean, they have a bunch of different types of acai bowls, they sell juices too. The service was really quick and the girls are really nice and friendly. The service is great!

This place is so refreshing. Açaí bowls are always made to order and have the sweetest fruit. They pack your bowls with bold flavors. I customize my own bowl considering I don't like many things in my bowls but the menu gives you variety and you can't go wrong with any of them!

What a great find! There aren't many healthy options around these parts so I was delighted to find this place when I looked up "juicing", and wasn't disappointed. They make the juices fresh in front of you and there's no added sugar. The dessert fruit cups smell amazing. I didn't get to try them since I bought them for someone else but they looked fresh. We also bought some of there empanada looking food and they were tasty. I'll definitely be returning.

The service is good with plenty of servers walking around with different cuts of meat - beef, chicken, and pork - and grilled pineapple. My one complaint and why I am giving it 4 stars, is that the grilled shrimp that is mentioned on the menu never appeared in the 1.5 hours we were there. And, I asked the server for the shrimp and he said "uh huh" and never followed through. The Brazilian lemonade is fantastic. Try that. The restaurant is noisy but not so bad like other restaurants. The tables are close but not one on top of another.

It's not a large restaurant, especially compared to some of the other Brazilian steakhouses. The service was good. Overall, we had a good meal. The common theme is that compared to other Brazilian steakhouses, the selection at the salad bar as well as the meat selection is a bit more limited. That said, I enjoyed everything I chose from the salad bar. Regarding the meat selection, there were a couple that stood out: the picanha and the rib-eye were both very good. Everything else was so-so (the filet mignon in particular was pretty tough for that cut of meat). That said, I would rather go to a restaurant that does a couple of things well vs. everything just okay. One thing to note. I don't know how they do it, but the price is significantly lower that their competition (like ~30-35% lower). When you factor that in, this restaurant is quite reasonable for what they offer.

So many men with meats walking around. They cooked my cuts the way I like, medium. While cooking my husband's cuts medium rare. This is probably my favorite Brazilian steakhouse. The meat is cooked so perfectly. My favorite cuts were the ribeye, lamb chops, house special/picanha top sirloin. My husband loved the lamb chops, top sirloin and filet mignon. I really liked the peppercorn on the lamb chops and top sirloin. The amount of fat to meat was perfect for me. I really enjoyed the salad bad too. Eggplant, beets, pineapple; all delicious. As for sides, they had polenta fries, yuca fries?, beans, garlic mashed potatoes, and Mac and cheese. The garlic mashed potato was perfect. Mac and cheese was really good too. We were celebrating and let Carlos know, and he brought out a nice cake for us. A sweet gesture. I'd bring friends here for birthdays and Christmas. TMI but was consider coming here monthly when Aunt Flo is in town, since iron stores are depleted. The food was overflowing, almost had to be rolled out of there. Romantic vibe but unfortunately very empty on a Monday night. Id hate to see a gem like this shutter its doors. I liked the music a lot.

The gauchos kept calling me "the Boss," and it was awesome! They joked with me, made me laugh, and made me feel like I was the most important person in the restaurant. The restaurant is really cool because it feels special, but it's also cozy. You don't have to get super dressed up to enjoy an amazing meal. It feels fancy enough for a celebration but comfortable enough that everyone can just relax and have fun. The coolest part was that the gauchos remembered how everyone liked their meat cooked. They would come back to our table with meat cooked exactly the way each person liked it. I thought that was really cool because it showed they were paying attention. My mom's favorite things on the salad bar were the asparagus and the eggplant. I know that sounds funny, but they were really good! My favorite was all the delicious steak with rice. Every time a gaucho came by with another cut of steak, I was ready! The grown-ups also loved the drinks. My mom said her espresso martini was delicious, and everyone said the Kahlúa martinis were really good. Everyone was so nice, and they made my whole family feel welcome. Thank you, Randy, and all the gauchos, for treating me like "the Boss!" We'll definitely be back the next time we're in Houston!

We still had to wait 30 minutes. It was a Saturday night and Valentine's Day so it was busy and I get it. However, once we were sat, after nearly 2 hours, I only had about 6 pieces of meat. We didn't get offered half of the meat. Most of the meat we did get offered weren't even beef, mainly chicken, sausage, etc. Our cards were flipped to the green side the WHOLE time we were there, but servers were either skipping or just not even coming. Despite making eye contact. then, when we were offered certain meats, they would cut a slice for my s/o, but when it was my turn, the server would say "oh i have to get your cut from the back, I'll be right back" then never come back. This happened twice. By the 3rd time, i was clearly upset and that may have been the only reason the server actually came back that time. Our server also kept asking if we were just waiting on meat, in which we'd say yes just to still continue waiting. After THREE hours and still about 6 meats total, we requested the dessert menu - another 15 minutes just to get the menu to us. At this point, we ordered it and i asked to speak to the manager. I have never requested to speak to a manager at a restaurant before, that is how horrible this experience was. Again, had to wait for the manager to make his way to us. Once i explained to him my experience, his response in general was a very like "welp that sucks" attitude & didn't even seem really concerned. He offered to charge us as a "lite dinner" + drinks + dessert. Which I still dont even think is a fair resolution, because my dinner was their mashed potatoes, cheese bread, and 6 slices of meat. Even getting the check took time. God bless the host/hostess as they seem to be fighting for their life trying to get everyone seated. In the future, if there isn't availability, then they shouldnt be offering reservations they cannot honor. Will not be back and i definitely do not recommend the place.

What stuck out with the lamb chops and the lamb shank . it was very tender. Our waitress and waiters were on point about who ordered what drink and what desserts. But for the employees that were going around with the meat was a kind of difficult. It was hard to get the lambs, but maybe they were just out of it so quickly because it was really good. Honestly, next time I would just get the lamb and the salad bar. Make sure to get small cuts of meat because there's been times when I asked for medium, but they will give me rare instead. So if they give you a cut you don't like, you can avoid food waste. I wish they gave us a list of what drinks that we could have. They had lemonade mixed with other fruits, but not Brazilian lemonade that was made with the rind. I don't think my coworkers knew there were an options besides basic soda and sparkling water. Mind you the lemonade mixture was pretty good. It's just sad they do not have the Brazilian lemonade with the rind. Maybe the tables were chaotic but the people next to me and myself weren't able to get our water cups refilled. The tables and chairs were even, stable, and steady . We had a lot of people so we had to have them all connected. There's free parking in the garage attached to the movie theater above the third floor . This is my go-to parking garage when I'm in this area. Compared to other Brazilian steakhouses, this place has some points to work on. There is potential.

Besides the typical cuts like picanha, top sirloin, bottom sirloin, and lamb chops, Avenida also offers Wagyu steak, ribeye, NY strip, salmon, shrimp, and even lobster soup. I prefer my steaks medium rare, and the meat was incredibly tender. My favorites were the top sirloin, lamb chops, and filet mignon. The service was phenomenal. They don't play the usual games that many Brazilian steakhouses do by bringing out the cheaper cuts first to fill you up. Instead, they consistently walk around serving a wide variety of meats throughout the meal, which really elevated the experience. Honestly, the only thing holding this restaurant back is the interior design and exterior appearance. I can barely notice the restaurant while driving by because the outside signage and overall presentation don't stand out. Meanwhile, Fogo de Chão (in Katy for example) catches attention immediately because the building and interior feel upscale and polished. Avenida seriously has better meat quality in my opinion, but the restaurant could benefit greatly from renovating the interior, improving the lighting, and creating a more modern and inviting romantic vibe. The food and service deserve a much busier crowd.

There was a live guitarist/singer playing which was a fantastic vibe. A complimentary basket of four pieces of cheese bread was brought out, excellent way to start the meal! For two people, we ordered: 2x Coxinha (3.5/5): While the chicken is a tad dry, it's complimented well by the creamy sauce 1x Kibe (3/5): Reminded me of a meatball crossed with a falafel, like something you'd order on a skewer. Not too grainy and a nice smoky flavor. 1x Risole de Camarao (4.5/5): I thought this was a better version of the Coxinha. The shrimp flavor really permeates and reminds you of a shrimp risotto in a single bite. Churrasco Gaucho (16oz) (2/5): We decided to get this to sample all of the meats. Unfortunately I thought everything was really salty. Maybe it's characteristic of the Brazilian grilling style, because the smoky flavors did come through, but it just felt too salty for me on everything. Honestly maybe it just needed some kind of vegetable besides beans to help offset. Whatever their chili sauce is (5/5): I have no idea what this is but it reminds me of mashed up bird eye chili sauce..it's really good. Sprinkle it on everything. Helps with the saltiness of things. Milk Flan (4/5): A rich custard style of flan, thick and very sharable. Not too sweet. I liked this as a great palate cleanser. Service was really prompt and friendly.
