Acapulco is a pretty good Mexican place in Spring Hill. Unfortunately Spring Hill has a million Mexican places, otherwise this place would stand out more. Their prices are slightly lower than other Mexican joints in Spring Hill and the food is the same quality. They also have trivia there on certain nights of the week which is pretty cool if you plan for it. Give it a try and see what you think. read more

There are 4 Mexican restaurant within 1/2 mile (if you include taco bell). Service is lightning quick, you're seated, with drinks and food all in less 15. The shame is that there is nothing special here as far as food, flavors or atmosphere. Unless you count a life size cut-out of "the most interesting man in the world". Prices and portions are average. Ohhh and a little surprise Lunch prices only apply m-f, so be warned there will be an upcharge if you order from the lunch menu on Saturday at noon. This was our first time, and it was A-ok but not awesome. The chips were stale which were a bummer. The waiter didn't check on us often so my son was out of water a lot. I always get the combination of Burrito, Taco, Chicken Enchilada everywhere I go as a standard. The Chicken Enchilada was actually moist and not dry, so I was happy about this. I'll cut to the chase, best Mexican food we've had in a long time! Kike (Enrique) Gave GREAT service and answered all our questions in an easy to understand way with a big smile! We are the type of family where everybody has something they want to change on their order and Kike got it all correct. There are certain ways we judge Mexican restaurants and instead of listing them all separately let's just say they checked all the boxes. I give them my highest rating, 5 stars! Edit. Eating some leftovers and thought of a couple of things. First off, a lot of Mexican places either have good chips and salsa or entrees. Not here. Both boxes check. Secondly, one of my litmus tests is do the leftovers get eaten or sit in the fridge for a week and get thrown out. These leftovers are almost gone at dinner time. :) read more

I have now been to this restaurant twice. The service is prompt and polite, the food is average and the setting is cozy. I didn't give it 5 stars because I have been other places that are better all around. We didn't have anything really wrong. What I like about this place is when they bring you chips and salsa you get a shared basket of chips but individual bowls of salsa. So double dip all you want :) I ordered the chimichangas both times, the first time they came out as 3 small wraps with cheese sauce over the top with rice, beans, pico guacamole, shredded lettuce and sour cream. This time when I got this item it came as one large wrap with all the fixings. It was better the second time than the first. The outdoor area this place has is nice, as a matter of fact I think it is nicer than the inside seating. While inside has a bar and televisions to watch the game, the outdoor area is spacious and less crowded feeling. So over all 4 stars for this place. read more

Today we felt like a margarita and said "what the heck, lets go try something else on Acalpulco's menu". And so we did.... Went for lunch, wasnt too busy at all and the AC was working nicely today. Our waiter was excellent and took good care of us. We tried the chorizo queso dip and it was pretty good, with warm chips and salsa that was good as well. I went for the steak tapiqueno and it was flavorful and a large portion; I was pleased with my choice. My husband decided on the carnitas, which were very flavorful and tender; he too, liked his choice. Pork could have been done crispier, which we will be sure to ask for next time. Their $2.50 little lime margaritas were served all day, so we had some of those as well...a good lil deal. We've went a few times and so far have found it to be the best Mexican food in Spring Hill. The pork carnitas are so tender and flavorful! We've also had the fajitas and shrimp chimichanga which were both good. The salsa and queso dip are yummy. Very reasonable prices and good service. They had live music out on the patio each time we went and that was nice. One other thing I will mention is that they have a good selection of non-alcoholic non-carbonated beverages. Neither my husband or I drink and most of the time when we eat out our only options are soda or water. They have several options of which we've tried a couple and have been very pleased. This place was just ok...I had a chicken taco, a beef taco, and a chicken flauta. The server was great and because it was our first time he told us if there was something we didn't like he would get us something else...that and the chicken flautas are the only reason this place gets 3 stars. I ate my chicken taco, but it was nothing to write home about ...... But that beef taco....oh my word was it even beef? It didn't look too appetizing but I tried it and just couldn't do it. The server asked how everything was, and I was polite but honest about the beef taco. He offered to replace it with another flauta! I was certainly happy with that, and if I went there again, that is what I would get. Being from Arizona originally, I have had some great Mexican food...I miss it and really hope to find something close to back home here in Spring Hill! read more

I went here with my daughters and friend. The staff was really nice but the food was just ok. I ordered pizza and French fries for my toddler. The fries were cooked fresh and the pizza was just a frozen microwave pizza. She enjoyed it but I wasn't impressed. However I realize I don't go to a Mexican restaurant for pizza. My older daughter and friend ordered fajitas, one chicken and one steak. The portions were huge and the sides were what you expect. The chicken tasted good but the steak was a little too shredded for my liking. Overall they liked them well enough. My friend loves chunky guacamole and our server was nice enough to go make her some. She loved it!!! She also enjoyed her Margarita. I was very appreciative of the level of service. I ordered a taco salad based off the picture on the menu. It was deceptive! It wasn't anything close to the pic and it was very mediocre. I wouldn't order it again. I also ordered cheese dip which is what you'd expect at any restaurant. I like fresh chunky salsa with cilantro and onions but theirs was lacking. It wasn't plain tomato sauce with salt so it wasn't terrible. All in all I gave 3 stars because I've had worse but certainly also had better. I'm not sure if I'll go back. 4 of us went there to eat at 1:30 on a Friday. The service was very, very slow and two of our party got sick during the car ride home.

Busy at meal times. Lots of families come here to eat drink and go. Nothing unfamiliar at all. Even the music is fully Hispanic; fun, bouncy, and you find yourself tapping your feet or thinking that some songs sound familiar. My wife and I (yes, former OC people and escapees from commie-fornia) love the staff. Their stories of family, their un breakable spirit and welcoming attitudes. Food - it's from south of the border. Enchiladas Yolanda - tasty, and the pineapple is slightly reminiscent of a tropical space. Pollo Popeye - spinich on flattened, grilled chicken breast. A little queso, pick, rice, guacamole...Boom! My fav! Chips and salsa are standard. Someone could talk them into a little more cilantro, cumin, and heat...but it beats Tito's ketchup. Get to know the staff, show them a friendly smile. Remember, you live in Tennessee. Slow down. Quit being in a hurry, stop honking your horn at people! Well maybe we caught these guys at a bad time, but the food was terrible. When I say terrible, I mean the worst food I've purchased in years. The fish tacos I ordered were seriously disgusting. They were non breaded, undercooked and under seasoned. They may have had some cumin and chili powder or the like on me and that was it. Then, that was stuffed into a tortilla and topped with shredded lettuce only. No cabbage, no sauce no nothing. I was so upset that I was going to waste my money on these that I just paid and left. Maybe I should have given them a chance to redeem it, but I was just too bothered. Our waiter was nice though. I will never go again. I hope my experience is not the norm. read more
