Waterstreet Parilladda- $75. Fantastic! Oysters , steak, shrimp and lobster!

Do you miss those cheesy (pun intended, hehe) little Tex mex restaurants that didn't seem to care much about authenticity but had REALLY TASTY food? This place is that and much more! Loaded on steroids if you will! Cute and fun decor; an overall dope vibe! I love when these type of spots dip their feet a little into fresh seafood. That's what yall do in Corpus, right? Nothing special about the drinks but I did receive some bits of nostalgia; not strong, but delicious....Mexican butter with my fajitas, oh Lord they brought out the Mexican butter...sopped up my bacon wrapped shrimp and lobster from my Waterstreet Parrillada entree. Oooweee don't let that price tag keep you up at night. Worth every bit of the $75. You and a lucky somebody can split this right down the middle because It's paired with double rice and beans! Chips were freshly fried and seasoned...epic! The salsa was.....salsa...not bad. Our waitress was a college student in the area who gave me great hope about the "young kids" today. Well spoken, knowledgeable, Mannerable....like she really wanted to be at work that day; overall a pleasant experience and I would return and ask for her in a heartbeat! Until we meet again El Camino....(unfortunately, I don't think we will).

It was one of the best meals I've had in Texas. Everything came out cooked to order and was very fresh. The restrooms were spotless. We got seated and did not feel rushed. The staff was very nice and courteous. They gave us information about the menu and made suggestions on appetizers. I gave this meal a 10 out of 10.

Went here on Saturday with my bf and we loved it! Surprisingly we went for an early dinner and the patio wasn't too busy, it started filling up as the evening went on. The service was quick and everyone was so friendly!! Our server was helpful and had great recommendations which was helpful because it was our first time. The food portions were much bigger than I expected them to be. They bring out complimentary salsa and it comes with three salsas and yummy, fresh chips. The queso was HUGE. We expected a small bowl but it came in a small sized skillet - they did not skimp haha I got chicken tinga quesadillas and he got the birria tacos, both great choices! Our favorite was the margarita flight that our server recommended and we will definitely be getting that again (the prickly pear and mango were sooo delicious) The atmosphere was wonderful. Highly recommend the outdoor seating because it was a little smoky inside which we didn't like but they had a ton of seating outside so it worked out.

I've waited to make a review about El Camino because I really wanted to like it! Every time we come to corpus for work, my coworkers rave about this place and I just don't see it. I've eaten here 3 times and each time the food is just disgusting. The first time I came I got the birria tacos and they were not good. We got the churro donut and it was so DRY!! Our server was also so terrible. She said that we could not split the ticket and handed us the iPad and then we literally split the bill our self. We've been servers and knew the system. Second time, service was better but food was gross!!! I got the quesadilla and it was mid. Nothing special. The third time I came and service was actually much better, but the food was so nasty. At this point, I was scared to try any food so we got the queso and nasty. Also, the smell in there?? Smells foul. I think the outside looks cool but so not worth it.

This is the best place to eat in Corpus Christi and I'll die on that hill!! This place is so amazing. The food is super flavourful and the service there has always been so great each time I've visited. The restaurant is also beautifully decorated as well so it gives a classy dining vibe. Each time I've visited they've also been super generous with the complimentary chips and dip too which is a huge bonus. The short rib enchiladas are incredible and the portion sizes are huge for the price! Put this place on your list to try!

Amazing food atmosphere and service! We stayed in corpus for three days and this place made such a great impact we had to come twice definitely recommend if you're visiting the area!

I loved the look and feel of this place. The table was a bit small for four people, so we had to maneuver around our drinks, plates, salsa, and chips. Two people in my group ordered the seafood enchiladas, which they said were very good. I tried the steak picanha, a steak topped with cheese. It tasted delicious, but the rice and beans didn't feel authentic to me. The drinks seemed made from real fruit, and the chips and salsa were fantastic. It was somewhat busy, and our waiter was a bit slow. Overall, it was a good dinner.

When I moved back to Corpus Christi a little over six (6) years ago, I have to admit I was a bit of a foodie snob. In particular, my gripe was with the city's options for Tex-Mex cuisine. Anyone familiar with my food habits (via pictures and reviews) will know that I am very well versed in this specific genre as it fascinated me when I lived "In the Loop" ("ITL") in Houston. I have sampled it all over the state and have always been a bit disappointed that there wasn't anything here in Corpus that matched the quality found elsewhere. That is until now. Welcome, El Camino Comida & Bar! This is legit "big city" Tex-Mex. From atmosphere to food, they have pinned it down, and it fits in very well in downtown Corpus. They just opened a few weeks ago, so time will tell how they fare; but we are approaching Summer (translation = "tourist season"), so my assumption is that they will perform well with both locals and those visiting. I have only been here twice, but plan on frequenting the place quite often. I have thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of it so far, and should management stay on top of things, I do not see any reason they will not turn out to be a huge hit for the city!

We stumbled on El Camino while in Corpus Christi and what a great find! We ordered drinks at the bar while we waited for our table and loved the spicy mule! We were a party of 12, but still had fast, friendly service. Fun decorations and friendly staff and decently priced menu. My adult son had the quesadillas (off the appetizers) and couldn't finish it! The salsa was excellent! Afterwards everyone rated their meals as "mid"; not great but not bad. We sat inside, but the outside looked fun and we would definitely go back for drinks and apps.

So the beef fajitas were actually really good and juicy, with nice seasoning!! The smell of that is what attracted us to this place lol But the rice and beans that came with it were not great. Beans tasted like a can of ranch style beans and rice was just not good. I didn't even get a picture. But we sat at the bar, and had great service there, I loved the vibes inside, they had mariachis performing too when we walked in so that was fun!

Food and drinks were amazing. Outside ambience was wonderful. Great for date night and a good time.

Such a fun place with amazing ambiance. They have mariachis going around which makes it super fun. The service was also great, our waitress was on top of everything and super fast. As for the food, not my favorite place. Not sure if it is because I am not a big Tex Mex fan but I higher expectations since as soon as I got in it smelled so good. Note that most things here are spicy, so watch out if you have a low tolerance.

    Combo..awesome

Another great place to eat, this one is in downtown Corpus Christy. I'm almost positive the chef here has to be a James Baird nominee!!! Great menu choices from appetizers to entrees. Tex Mex at its finest. Drop in and sit a spell you won't be disappointed..as always have a happy meal!

The most authentic flavor item in my lunch was the refried beans that look like poop at first sight. Rice was bland with cumin flavor and the mole was the most disappointing. Might as well have called them regular enchiladas, the flavor was basic taco mix with a tiny taste of mole. Just a thick cumin or comino paste. Enchiladas should be dripping with sauce in the inside. These were dry tortillas that were barely garnished with sauce on top. The chicken inside was very flavorul but dry. Then the 16 oz lemonade was 4$ and it was super sour ! I never leave reviews. I've never had them served this way but was not disappointed. No horseradish served here, fyi. We also got queso fundido which was delicious- portion seemed small but made three full tacos. Draft beer was cold, Bloody Mary was outstanding. Their specialty cocktails looked amazing. I'd love to try but i was really itching for a bloody that day. Our waiter had to be called for everything, we didn't even get silverware or napkins. When we called we got bar napkins while every other guest had proper utensils. Overall, great experience, I'd go back and sit at the bar next time.

However, I would imagine that, depending on your taste, it might be hit or miss, but that is strictly subjective. I got a Birria taco and a Picadillo taco. The birria was amazing (see pic) with pulled beef, cilantro, and onion (typical traditional style), the other one was some kind of minced meat and potato (still good but not even close to the birria. Also, I got a "large" shake and the thing is the size of a 7-11 slushie!! However, I think the ice cream had some homemade element to it, because it was kinda gritty and icee. Didnt have a tone of flavor, but not big deal. Final thought: I gave it a 4* but it is VERY close to 5. The birria was a 5* for sure. Will definitely go again because they have like 20 different breakfast tacos that I need to try. Since I am a breakfast, brunch, and brinner kind of guy, breakfast tacos are good any time of day!

We opted for a table for two. There was a few people in the restaurant, which is always a good sign. We got there closer to 11 o'clock although we want a breakfast tacos we just couldn't get there earlier. The one drawback is that they charge you one dollar per taco extra if you order a breakfast taco after breakfast time. There's really no rhyme or reason to do this. We started out the meal with chips and salsa. The only one problem with that was the amount of salt in the salsa almost inedible. We opted for three tacos each. I had a mix of chorizo and potato., bean and cheese, bacon, and beans . All breakfast tacos were served on flour tortillas, which were slightly more puffy than the average. We also ordered one Carne guisada taco. All in all the tacos were good. Probably not a place we would rush back to. All in price was 54.00 for 6 tacos , chips and salsa.
