(0 Star)** My experience with Access Asset Management began on a positive note, but it steadily declined due to what I believe was a lack of professionalism, poor communication, and repeated failures to handle time-sensitive matters appropriately. Several issues that required prompt attention were delayed or mishandled, creating unnecessary stress and putting my housing situation at risk. The most concerning part of my experience involved the handling of our Servicemembers Civil Relief Act (SCRA) lease termination request. My brother, an active-duty U.S. Marine, received military orders requiring relocation. Access Asset Management received his official military orders, a letter from the U.S. Marine Corps, and documentation supporting my status as his dependent. Adam spoke directly with his Staff Sergeant, he openly admitted to the staff Sergeant that they believed I was a liar. It just goes to show the level of professionalism these people carry. Despite receiving this information, our request was denied. Throughout the process, I felt that the matter was not reviewed with the level of care, objectivity, or understanding that an SCRA request deserves. Instead of relying on the documentation provided, decisions appeared to be made without fully evaluating the facts. After he admittedly stated he was not qualified to make said decision or a "forensic analyst" to properly assess the documents. He still continued to make that choice anyway. Mind you I have a degree in finance and work under a CFO for a nonprofit foundation where my day-to-day tasks include budgeting expenses, as well as internal audits...This forced us into a lengthy dispute that could have been avoided with proper diligence. I made every effort to resolve the matter professionally and without legal action. I organized the documentation, provided detailed explanations, and attempted to work collaboratively toward a resolution. Unfortunately, I consistently felt dismissed rather than heard. Another disappointing aspect was the level of professionalism displayed during communications. Adam is definitely a business owner that thrives and functions off of ego and emotion rather than logic; there is no real sense of humanity, compassion, empathy, and or justice unfortunately. Rather than focusing on resolving legitimate concerns, there were comments that I found dismissive and unprofessional, including assumptions that my communications were simply generated by ChatGPT instead of addressing the substance of the issues I raised. In the end, it is completely okay because life goes around and I pray and hope that his children or family never have to experience the level of treatment he expressed onto me and my family. But you also cannot go through life harming others, taking advantage of any one's pure intentions, profiting off of others misfortune or simply being a distasteful person and expect to go unscathed in this life. Another important thing to note is their office manager and coordinator renewal agent, are for lack of better word, lazy. They often drop the ball on time sensitive matters & don't fact check before responding to any email. I apologize for the words that make come off harshly, but simply it seems that they're a bunch of low-level intelligence people in that office including the administrative assistant but enjoy to speak in condescending tones. I believe property management companies have a responsibility to understand the laws they are enforcing, particularly when those laws involve protections for active-duty military members and their families. If a company is unsure how to process an SCRA request, it should seek appropriate legal guidance rather than making decisions that could adversely affect military families. Based on my personal experience, I cannot recommend Access Asset Management--especially to active-duty military members or their families. I wouldn't recommend Access Asset Management to my worst enemy. Yes, some associates are kind, but overall, this company is absolutely terrible. Our experience from the moment we signed the lease to (now) months after move-out has been more than stressful and disappointing. They do not inspect their properties thoroughly, and no matter how many forms you fill out, photos you take, and records you keep on file, you will be held responsible for pre-existing conditions at the time of your move-out unless you take them to court. read more

I had a very disappointing experience with this management company. After submitting my application and paying around $120 in application fees, I was told that I was only "pre-approved" and then asked to pay a $2xxx holding deposit that was stated to be non-refundable -- even before receiving final approval. What made this even more concerning was that none of these important details were clearly disclosed on Zillow prior to applying. There was no clear indication that applicants could be asked to pay a large non-refundable holding deposit before receiving final approval. In my opinion, this policy makes very little sense and feels extremely unfair to applicants. If the applicant is ultimately denied, losing such a large amount of money despite not being fully approved yet is very concerning. A holding deposit should either be refundable if final approval is not granted, or applicants should receive final approval before being asked to pay such a significant amount. The entire process felt very one-sided and financially risky for renters. I would strongly recommend that future applicants carefully read all terms and ask detailed questions before paying anything. read more

Adam, the "owner" of the company, moved me into an illegal rental unit in Lake Elsinore, over which he has a monopoly. I had my rental inspected by Lake Elsinore County inspectors, who informed me that it was an illegal unit. To recover my deposits after demonstrating to Adam that the place was being rented illegally, I encountered his condescending attitude, which may explain why he is divorced. In order to receive my deposit back, I was required to submit a tax form to write it off, as Adam is engaging in tax fraud, which has been reported to the IRS. Adabel was prompt in reaching out to me directly via email, text and telephone communication. She was very detailed and transparent with the entire process. Furthermore, the entire process which included: pre-screening, viewing, holding deposit and final verification resulted in a successful approval and expedited move-in to a desired and beautiful property. Dishonest and dirty. I really don't like leaving bad reviews. But I'd rather be honest and protect others/ fellow yelpers from having a terrible experience if I can . Watch out! They will lie to you and tell you what you want to hear just to get you to sign a lease. Then after you do, they aren't responsive and don't care about you at all. I found an apartment that I wanted to rent. Contacted Access Asset Management and they were happy to help.... Happy to help feed me lies just to get me to sign the lease. I was told that things would be fixed before I moved in, so that everything worked. That didn't happen. When I moved in, I asked for help. I was ignored. No response from emails and phone calls. The worst customer service. After I moved in, there was a cockroach infestation. I was disgusted. I reported it to the management company and they claimed that they didn't know.............Really. It was a bad infestation. And basically became my problem to fix. It was horrible. I had to bomb the apartment multiple times when living there. And even then, the cockroaches nearby coming from the neighbors units were a constant struggle. I had the worst experience renting from Access Asset Management. Beware!!! They are breaking the law. Key Provisions of AB 2493 To charge an application fee, landlords must: 1. Process applications in the order they are received. 2 Approve the first applicant who meets screening criteria. 3 Delay charging fees until the application is actively reviewed. They did none of these with us. We submitted our application on a Wednesday. We heard nothing back from them other than asking for a couple minor documents. We had another home we were already accepted for but we liked this home better. The other home was our backup if this one fell through. I called early on Monday and spoke with Kimberly to find out where we were at in the process. She stated that everything was good to go and we would be getting word on the decision by the end of business that day. Towards the end of business on Monday I called again and spoke with Kimberly and she stated that it has been very busy today and there was no word yet but we would find something out tomorrow for sure. I called back on Tuesday and spoke with a Caroline. Caroline told me that they had everything and they would be submitting the application today or tomorrow to the homeowners. I was taken back because per my conversation with Kimberly we were waiting to hear back from the homeowners. Caroline explained that this wasn't the case and that they were waiting on two other applications because they wanted to submit 2-3 applications to the owners so they can make a better decision. I explained that they've had our app since last week and nothing has been done, that they've just been sitting on it and that doesn't seem right. Caroline went on to tell me that this is a lengthy process and can take weeks sometimes to complete. Again, I was taken back because this means they were sitting on our application, which is, come to find out, illegal. Their process also requires that you complete and pay for the application screening when you apply for the home. Caroline explained that there were several apps submitted but that we were the only 3 that they were sending to the owner. This means they collected several application fees. What happened next is they created a bidding war. Caroline explained to my wife who called later, that some of the apps were offering more in rent or more security deposit to appeal to the owner. One app she stated offered double the security deposit of $3000 to $6000. Some were upping the rent they would pay. We ended up offering $100 more a month in rent (up to $3000/month from $2900) and 1.5x the security deposit ($3000 to $4500). Today is the following Sunday and we still haven't heard back from them. Not professional in my opinion at all. However, after speaking to Caroline and not getting a good vibe from that situation we decided to apply for a couple other houses. We applied through a company called Scout. We applied the day after speaking to Caroline, so Wednesday. Our agent, Jenni was amazing and on top of it. She reviewed our app, processed our info, asked for a couple extra docs (which we submitted right away) on Wednesday, she submitted to the owners on Thursday and called us late Friday and told us we got the house. Oh, also the owners are overseas. The people at Access are breaking the law and playing games with people who are just trying to find a home for their family. If you are looking to rent, please stay away from these people, they are shady at the least. read more

I have been a client of Access Asset Property Management for many years. Throughout the years, I have received professional service, while understanding the nature of property management. And, property management is the business mostly of people management, both of tenants and of landlords. And, we all come at different levels/states of patience, understanding and emotional status at different times in our lives. I know I have been in many of those different levels/states myself and am thankful to Access Asset Property Management for their handling of different scenarios that have required multiple adjustments depending on the situation. I have often thought (and expressed to them) that I don't know how they do it. I believe that property management is frequently difficult. It is the job of helping good people find each other so that one can provide a decent home/house/apartment/structure/property/unit to the other in exchange for timely rent/lease payments as well as the maintenance of the home/house/apartment/structure/property/unit in optimal and presentable condition to the tenants/residents themselves as well as to the neighbors and to the surrounding community. And, in this review, I must say that I have ALWAYS received fantastic service from Tami as a renewal coordinator but also in different phases of service offered by Access Asset Property Management. Tami is the type of person who has demonstrated steadiness in professional interactions and support in every situation that I have encountered, including some difficult scenarios. *SCAM Alert!* Do NOT apply for properties managed by this company. I toured a home at 39848 Osprey Dr. in Murrieta, CA, managed by Access Asset. I'll say, scheduling and doing the self guided tour was convenient enough. We loved the property and were ready to sign on the spot. We went home and submitted separate applications for both myself and my wife at $40 each. I received an email the next day from Jessica saying that I could submit an application. I was confused and emailed back that my wife and I had already applied and I asked if she could verify that our applications were received. 1st, how unorganized is this company that they ask you to submit applications for properties you've already applied for. 2nd, I was directed to leave messages and emails with the application department because the person I was talking to couldn't answer the simple question about if my application was even received. The applications department is totally unresponsive, and when I asked Jessica to help me get an answer, she just defaults to telling me they are busy and will get back to me eventually. After reading other reviews, I discovered that it takes this company several weeks or a month+ to respond, if they ever respond at all. By that time, I'll already be moved in to a different property and this house will still be sitting vacant. I called my bank and disputed the charges. I applied for a specific property which probably won't even be available by the time my application gets looked at. Unreal. When someone pays for and submits and application, they should at least be able to verify with a real person that the application was received and is/isn't being considered. I have serious misgivings about having done an online application f this company where I put in my personal information such as the SS number. Every time I call their general line, I am told to speak with their Application Department where no one picks up the phone and doesn't respond to emails. I don't know whether this company is even legit and whether they are collecting persona info to sell to scammers. Something's fishy about this particular entity. The unresponsive nature wouldn't have anything to do with Covid because their main office is very responsive in answering calls and sending the Application link via email. Not good! They advertise a property on the Multiple Listing Service (MLS) which propagates a number of other sites like Zillow, Apartments.com, etc. It gives you a number to call to set up a time to see the property. No one ever answers and it says "sorry we are not in the office to take your call" and does not allow you to schedule a time. There is an email provided, Contact@accessasset.com. I have emailed twice with no response. It says on MLS "Please visit our website to apply". No website given and the only one I found was for owners to hire them. Nowhere to apply. Their now over 50, one star ratings are well earned. The property I'm trying to see has been on the market almost two months! No surprise. read more

*SCAM* This company is TRASH. I contacted this company about a rental that just popped up on Zillow. I drove to the property to look at it and saw the sign in the yard for their company. Reviewed the website and scheduled a showing for that same day (Saturday) and was told someone would contact you shortly regarding your showing. I wasn't from the area so decided to wait for someone to contact me or show up. 3 hours later no contact and no one should up. Monday I called the company and told them I scheduled a showing through your website for someone to show the house but no one arrived. She replied we don't work on the weekends. I informed her your website is allowing to make showings on the weekend. She then stated I can make a viewing for that same day. I arrived and no one is there. She text me the code to the lock box. I go through the property by myself and notice some minor discrepancies. Overall the house looked nice. My wife and I fill out an application and contacted the company saying we would like to move in on the 1st since it's available now, the lady said we will hear something soon. Called three days later to check on the status of the application and no one answered the phone. Left messages and emails and no response. I continue to call and receive the same voice message that they are unable to take our call leave a message and someone will get back with you. It is now the first and still have not heard anything from this company. They kept our application fee and have not gotten back in touch with us. Absolute worst property management company! I've been a realtor for over 20+yrs. From 2018 until 2022, my family and I rented a property from access. Understanding real estate laws, I made sure to take pictures before we moved in and on our way out. We made sure to have the carpets professionally cleaned and left the property in turn key condition. Access decided to keep over half of our $2000 deposit, citing items that needed replacing, that I have pictures of damaged back in 2018. After contacting Access Asset Management about a property for rent listed on Zillow, I was told it was unavailable to view on that day and that I would need to call back several days later (on a Friday) to set up a viewing. I did this, and was told I would be able to view it that day, only to be literally told "I cant make the appointment until after it is placed so we will reach out to you after 12PM Monday to schedule the appointment" (somehow makes sense?). It should also be noted that by this point I filled out an application to lease the property and was approved. The following Monday I called in the morning, but got no response until late afternoon saying I would need to set up a showing on Tuesday. At this point I began to realize either how unorganized or unprofessional this company was because I drove to the property to view the outside from my vehicle and saw multiple people walking in and out during a showing after I had been told multiple times it wasn't available for viewing. I gave it another shot on Tuesday but again was ignored, I even set it up for a showing through their online system but received no follow up whatsoever. Access Asset Management has either way too few employees to manage the amount of property that they do or that they are extremely unorganized. This gave me the impression that I was intentionally being ignored especially since I saw multiple other people going in and out of the property on a self guided showing. Their phones almost never go to an actual person. Other property management companies are able to keep running efficiently even during Covid times, it is unfortunate they can not do the same. I can't imagine being a tenant and having to get anything done or repaired in the house. I would recommend others to stay away based on this experience. But after I reached out via email to inquire, Stephanie was very quick to respond to my concerns. Great experience so far. Please note, I have written over 25 reviews on this site and NEVER rated anything LOWER than A FOUR STAR. OWNERS BEWARE! This company, owned by Adam Clark is the WORST management company I have ever encountered. As an owner of MANY homes, I have hired several over the past 15 years. I can not begin to tell you to BEWARE and NOT use them as your property managers. Currently, on this site they have 3.2ish stars...there is a REASON for that! On other sites they have a ONE star review! In addition, you will find SEVERAL BBB complaints, again there is a reason for that! I met Alisha at the time a new sales person with Access in 2018. She is very charming indeed. Quite the salesperson! Ultimately, I served as a reference for her for FOUR prospective new contracts attempting to "help her gain clients." On one occasion, I spent OVER ONE hour with a prospective client her request! Yes, the client signed with her! At the time, when we met I had a challenging tenant. The tenant had stopped paying rent and was very close to eviction. To the credit of Sue formerly in accounting, now "Compliance MANAGER" the tenant paid! From there, my story unravels. 1. I was told by Alisha the tenant had RE-SIGNED a one year lease. NOT TRUE. Tenant never signed and ultimately gave a two week notice and kept extending out her departure date. 2. Alisha stated, "Our longest property was on the rental market for 23 days, I am SURE yours will rent fast." Please note I was charged and paid for professional property pics thru Access! Again, Alisha's suggestion. "He is so good Melody, I want him to take my family pictures!" A. Mine was ultimately on the market for OVER 70 days prior to my cancelling the contract! B. All most ALL showings canceled or did not show. I found Access would schedule appointments ONE WEEK in some cases AFTER the initial call from a perspective tenant to SHOW the property! 3. I was called by Alisha at approximately 60 days out and told, "We received a call from a perspective tenant whom wants to rent your home while hers is being renovated." I inquired if it was "a sure deal?" Answer was a resounding "YES!" Again, NO CONTRACT! A. When I asked "I thought it was a SURE deal...?" The reply was, " well, well, I thought she was serious..." 4. MY home was SQUATED twice! I have a photo of a squatter trying to ESCAPE standing on the roof! Oh....and he left a CRACK PIPE in the bathroom! Swear! Ready....ready....wait for it....wait.... Alisha phoned me one night at 9:30 pm. Asked me to "do her a favor and place one of my homes on property management contract in order for her to make her commission that month." Note, the home was in a total rehab from the ground up and was not rentable. I said YES TO HELP HER! 1. Home was not ready to be rented for at least one year. This was explained prior to my signing the contract. 2. No advertising was done on the property. It was "listed" on a coming soon" section of the "homes for rent page" on Access website! Again, NO PICTURE WAS SHOWN. I canceled the property management contract on the first home after 70 plus days of being in the market with Access. In addition, I canceled the second home that was listed as "a favor to Alisha." She informed me if I CANCELLED I WOULD OWE APPROXIMATELY 250.00 to relist in the future! Ready, wait, wait...wait... Adam called me one night at 10:00 p.m. basically bullying me regarding cancellation. Please read the other review on this site regarding this. The author described his words as "condescending" ...they were. After a one hour conversation, one sided, his closing words were: "I have paid that commission and SOMEONE IS GOING TO PAY ME BACK!" The lock box was taken off my door the next morning and they KEPT the garage door opener, mail box key and front door key! You know where this is going.... ADAM SUED ME! 2,500.00! Yes, charged me for a year of property management fees on BOTH HOMES! I brought this to Alisha's attention via text. You guessed it...NO RESPONSE! NONE! As a psychologist, practicing for over 20 years, I will say this is an indication of her character. The case settled out of court today... 1999.76! Cash I may add. When I asked if I could put it on a credit card....according to Sue, "Adam said NO, I can have him contact you if you would like." My lesson from this was great.....NEVER do favors for anyone, and trust negative reviews! BTW, I took Alisha to lunch once at my country club, Victoria Club....she texted her BOYFRIEND nonstop during the hour. Yes....yes. Beware....Beware....Beware.... In closing, lesson learned.
