Had a leaking water heater which I knew could damage the townhouse below me as well as my own home. Called Accurate and explained the situation....Felix arrived less than an hour later, did whatever was needed to prevent damage and explained it to me. He came back the next morning and installed a new water heater and charged what I believe was a fair price. I had called two other places before Accurate and one was nice, but said they just couldn't come until the next day. The other was quite rude, quoted a high price and said it would cost even more if I didn't commit to a new heater right then. Our problem all started when my husband and I showered in separate bathrooms at the same time and noticed neither one of our bathtubs was draining. Same with our guest bathroom sink. The plumber that showed up, Jason, came first thing at 8am the next morning and started to power rod our pipes so that we could use both of our showers and sinks. This took around 90 minutes and cost us $250 cash. Well, 3 months later, we are having troubles with the same bathroom sink draining properly, and when I called, they said they only guarantee their work for 30 days and I would have to pay $175 this time. Well, I did my research, and I learned that other companies in the area charge between $50-$100 for the same rodding procedure I paid $250 for AND they guarantee their work for 1-3 years! And the other companies are accredited by the BBB, and some even offer free estimates. Not only did we get swindled by this company the first time, they were going to do it again even though we would have been returning customers. We went elsewhere, and based on their customer service, I suggest you do the same. read more

Our problem began when our storm drained backed up sewer water into our laundry room. We called David that night and he was able to come to our house the next morning. Diagnosed the problem and because we are return customers, he gave us a very competitive estimate. The work began the following Monday morning and true to his word, the final invoice was exactly was we were quoted. My relationship with Accurate Plumbing Doctor began 3 days after we moved to Palatine in 2016. We needed a new sewer pipe due to a tree root. I met Igor and Jason and their crew. What a great group of guys and since then I have had them come out to do some little things here and there. I am so sorry I took this long to write a review! Fast forward to yesterday and having family over for a cookout and the kitchen sink is clogged. Igor came over and cleared it up before our guests arrived. Update 11/2018 two years later we are dealing with different folks (Igor on the phone and Felix at my house) and review stays a strong 5 stars... kinda wishing I could add one more. We had a leaky kitchen faucet. Felix came out and determined we needed a new faucet. We purchased a faucet, Felix installed it for agreed upon price and we were happy (extra kudos to Felix for persevering through the roof construction on my house that made it really hard to get here). But very soon after the new faucet was installed, the hot water pressure from that faucet dropped in half. Felix came back out and after a bit of detective work determined a valve had practically disintegrated, pieces of which went into the new faucet and blocked the flow. Felix was out here for over an hour replacing the valve and cleaning out the pieces. They didn't even charge me the whole cost of the valve and nothing for the labor. Thrilled to know although the faces have changed the service is still top-notch, reliable & trustworthy. Helpful, reliable, friendly, and Trustworthy. I can't tell you what a relief it is to have a plumber I know I can trust. Almost 4 years ago, we needed a new water heater for our townhouse. Unfortunately we made a poor purchasing decision and went with shady company that went out of business shortly after they installed our water heater. So about 2 years later when the pilot light went out and wouldn't relight, I was referred to Accurate Plumbing Doctors (I wish I could remember by whom, so I could thank them!) who were able to fix the issue so quickly and easily, that it wasn't an issue long enough for me to remember the details ;) Fast forward a year or two to last night when my husband realized, as we were getting ready for bed, that the water wasn't hot, and we quickly discovered the pilot light on the water heater was out again, and following all the instructions on the unit and the manual didn't help. So almost first thing this morning, around 8:30am I called Accurate Plumbing Doctors and they were at my house literally well within an HOUR. And after a thorough check of the water heater, I was reassured that although there was an unfixable part (he was much more technical than that, but my brain doesn't do "technical" very well, so he also dumbed it down very discretely for me) the unit was still under warranty, and he very patiently guided me through the steps to get it fixed under warranty and I had hot water again by 3pm. Despite incredibly fast service on a Monday morning, I wasn't charged for an Emergency call; in fact..... I WASN'T charged at ALL!! Despite the fact that the gentleman from Accurate Plumbing Doctors spent a good amount of time determining the problem and guiding me to the solution, he would not charge me for his time. Life is full of little inconveniences that pop up every day, and it's companies like Accurate Plumbing Doctors that keep those little inconveniences, from becoming stressful time consuming ordeals. They have my full support and while I hope I won't need them, I'm extremely relieved to know they are there. read more

I have an old 1970s-era toilet that wouldn't flush right(I had to keep physically filling its water cabinet with 2 buckets of water then flush the toilet manually)! I called these guys up, spoke with Igor, who then booked my appointment to have 1 of his people (Felix) to come over the Wednesday after the Easter holiday weekend to fix my toilet. Felix did just that in about 45 minutes! He was friendly, professional, knowledgeable and mechanically efficient! Plus, he said the work is guaranteed for 6 months! So now, my toilet flushes normally and I'll have to find a new arms workout to replace my toilet water cabinet-filling one! read more

Had a broken wax seal on my toilet and they came in fixed it in 15 mins and so far so good. no more leak. Would give a 5 star rating but it was pricey for something I could have done but getting down and dirty with a toilet is something I'd rather not do. read more

We had water coming up through the ground behind our house. We called Accurate Plumbing Doctors and David came out that same day. He and a crew member checked the pipe with a camera to confirm what the problem was. We had a partially collapsed and broken line. David explained the repair, gave us a quote and was able to pull the permit the same day in order to do the work the next morning. He and his crew showed up promptly at 730 the next morning. They excavated the damaged area, installed the new line and clean out, and was finished that day after the inspection. They took their time to make sure the job was done correctly, they answered any questions we had, and they did a great job cleaning up. We highly recommend Accurate Plumbing Doctors. I thought I had a check valve problem with my sump pump and called to have someone come out and fix it. Jason arrived on time and proceeded to tell me that the check valve was fine and didn't need to be replaced. The problem was actually coming from the outlet pipe. This is a revision to my earlier rating of 1 star. After promising to fix their installation error, I did not hear back from them for over a month even though I left them 2-3 messages a day. I got a surprise visit from the owner today apologizing for their actions. He was hospitalized and left his business to an employee to run during his recovery. However, his employee did not follow through. The owner fixed the installation error on the spot and will also pay to have a new drywall installed in our powder room. I upgraded the rating because he came to apologize and actually fixed the problem as promised. read more

My experience was very good and I am very comfortable recommending Accurate to others. We had a problem with a faucet in our condo at Brittany Place in Arlington Heights. The initial plumbing company we asked to come out to look at it had a lot of questions about the scope of the job because of the age of the faucets and was pretty sure they would have to replace the whole thing, which would require a lot of damage to the existing tiles and walls. When I spoke to Igor at Accurate, he seemed to have a very good familiarization with the building and understood the problem. When Igor and Felix came out to fix the problem they were very professional, repaired the problem with no collateral damage to the walls or tiles and charged me considerably less that I was quoted from the initial plumbing company.
