So was in Barcelona for a few nights and we had one day that was stacked for foodie moments which I dubbed "Michelin Day" since we were hitting up tickets and disfrutar. I wanted to have a "low key" dinner prior to the feasting beginning so did a quick search to find Acces as a solid reviewed joint with a great tasting menu deal as well. I made a reservation via their website and we made our way over right on time. The joint itself has a funky interior vibe to it where it balances a modern feel with some "funky" vibe to it with strong color accents and hanging bulbs. They also have an open kitchen type style which is blocked off by a glass wall so that you can see the preparation of the food happening. The servers were all extremely friendly at the restaurant and spent time joking with us as well which I appreciated and immediately put us at ease. The menu is comprised of starters, fish, meat, rice & pasta, and various side dishes. As mentioned the team here offers a tasting menu which provides an amouse bouche, four courses and two desserts which definitely is the best "Bang for the buck". We asked the waiter and they said the menu highlights all the crowd pleasers so given the price point of just 55 euros and the amount of food, it was a no brainer to go with this. The drink menu is well stocked and they have mcallan on hand which is where I spent most of my liquid calories on. The food comes out at a good clip and it started with a potato with truffle oil amouse bouche which was light and delicious without the truffle being overpowering. The next dish that came out was the Roast Beef with mustard ice cream which on the surface seemed quite strange but this dish was the highlight of the night for creativity and taste. The mustard ice cream was not overpowering and paired well with the healthy portion of roast beef. The next dish out was scallops over a bed of potato. Each scallop was prepared well and not overcooked to reach a "rubbery texture" so it was well appreciated. The next dish was a delicate piece of fish in a broth like texture. I thought this was good but tasted a bit off to me. The fish was cooked well but the stew itself did not seem like a great pairing so probably my least favorite dish. The next dish out was the suckling pig with an apple puree which was quite tasty and cooked well although I imagine it would be hard to screw this dish up. The skin was crispy and the meat cooked well with a good fattiness to the meat. After this, the two desserts were brought out both which were good but not quite memorable with the chocolate dish being a bit too rich for my taste. After wrapping up they brought the check over and this is a total nitpick but I was surprised to hear them ask for additional tip. It was not asked in a malicious or evil way and I was aware that tipping a bit at "nicer restaurants" is the norm but found it odd for them asking for a tip whereas disfrutar and tickets did no such thing. Just a minor nitpick but something to be cognizant of. With all this said, a solid place for a meal and a solid meal for the pricing of it. Definitely worth a visit if you are looking for something that is in the middle of fancy and casual with good food. read more

Literally the best service and most accommodating staff. We had our wedding reception here last night and Fabian was more than helpful. Being our first time in Barcelona, they were able to help order flowers, steaming my wedding gown, suggesting places to visit... the whole nine yards. Chef Guerillmo did a fantastic job at bringing flavors together and even presentation. We had the opportunity to try the food during two nights and both did not disappoint. I want to like The restaurant -walked in without a reservation as it is our 2nd last night and wanted to get some paella and yelp had raving reviews on Sensi. Ambience was nice and cozy. Loved It. Restaurant was very full when we walked in at around 10:30. That was a good sign. We ordered based on the server's recommendation. The mussels we ordered were lukewarm and was super salty (double strike!) The ravioli was ok but not great. The pork tataki was a standout - was cooked perfectly and very flavorful! The small seafood paella was not dry, but only come with 1 shrimp and 1 mussel. We sat at the bar and we saw the team worked really hard but seemed like the place over-committed. Has a lot of dirty dishes piling up the bar area, along with dirty stemware. Awkward! read more

If you're looking for a restaurant that really wows... this is your place in Barcelona! The food here is a far cry from the standard Barcelona tapas restaurant menu -- which is certainly delicious, but can get a bit repetitive after awhile. The menu at Acces is creative, imaginative... and the flavors are fantastic! We started our gustatory journey with the inventive (and super delicious) roast beef with mustard ice cream and the warm and wonderful comté cheese and onion soup (which the chef split for us, so we could both enjoy it). I then followed with the lamb shoulder entrée, while my partner enjoyed the suckling pig. Both main courses were suggested by Fabien, the owner, and he did not steer us wrong. Simply divine. For dessert, the passion fruit cream, with peppermint and coconut foam capped our evening splendidly. I cannot say enough good things about Acces. The decor is sumptuous, but in a way that doesn't overpower the food or make you feel like you're stuck in a stage set. The restaurant was completely full the entire time we were there, but the dining room is set up nicely, so you don't feel like you're dining on top of the people at the next table. Finally, I must thank Fabien again for fitting us in on a very busy Saturday night, given that we showed up -- like rubes -- without making a reservation. He and his staff could not have been nicer or more professional and accommodating, considering the last-minute request for a table. We were so fortunate there was a cancellation and the stars aligned for us. We will be back -- but next time, will call ahead! read more

food was solid and everything was great. service was a little stretched out but i later found out that its just a thing in spain/culture. they also seemed short staffed but again i think later i discovered this is just the norm everything was cooked great and i highly recommend the chocolate lava cake. its different than the ones in the US, you can tell this was hand made. place has the vibe of a 90's dance club the thing that REALLY put me off is that at the end i was asked how much tip would i like to add and then they corrected and said, IF you choose to leave a tip. i thought it was very rude and pretentious esp when we know that tipping isn't as big part of europe as in the us. ive read from different sources that 5% if its amazing service as most are paid a full wage in spain at least. I almost never give restaurants poor reviews, and the two stars this restaurant receives from me is not really about the food. Instead, the two stars are for the horrendous attitude of the management towards my husband and I. In Barcelona on our honeymoon, we decided to try this restaurant after reading good reviews on Trip Advisor and the 5 star rating on here. I emailed them in the afternoon, giving them a couple options on times that we would like to try and get a reservation. They responded quickly with a 10pm reservation time. We arrived at the restaurant a bit early, were greeted kindly by the staff and asked to wait a few minutes for our table. Totally understandable given our early arrival. They seated us quickly and we were greeted at our table by whom I believe is either the sommelier or the manager. He seemed nice enough, perhaps a bit pretentious, but given his position no surprise. We asked for a Cava recommendation and he suggested a very nice bottle (also the most expensive on the menu). We were happy with the choice and proceeded to order our dinner in a very timely manner. The food was great and up to the point of completing our main courses, we had no complaints about anything. We were asked by our server if we would like to see the dessert menu. We said yes and the sommelier/manager came over to give us our menus. We decided on couple desserts and then waited to order. Instead of asking if we'd like to order, the sommelier/manager came and asked us if we would like to take our dessert in the lounge. We both said no, we were comfortable where we were. He clearly did not like that answer and just stood there looking at me with a scowl on his face. I then asked if he would like us to move, and he nodded yes. I was so shocked that we were being kicked out of our table that I just went with it. He then brought us to the lounge where we were forced to share a table with another couple waiting to be seated. I wanted to have nothing more to do with this man so I did not complain to him. At this point I was fuming mad. Really, kicked out of our table after having a reservation for 10pm and being seated for only 70 minutes max? I have never been treated as such before. We decided that we did not want to order anything else and asked for our check. I did not want to give this place any more of my good money. We mentioned that we were upset to one of the servers and he apologized and let the hostess know. She came over and offered to get us another glass of Cava to rectify the situation. As nice as that was, we both had full glasses of the expensive Cava already, so no we were not interested. They kept mentioning that they had other reservations coming in so we were asked to leave to make way. However, to my knowledge, no other table was asked to leave besides us. Regardless, their clear inability to manage their reservation system is not my problem. They should know better. Both my husband and I have experience in the hospitality and food service industry, we understand what good service means and how to treat your guests. This place clearly does not. Honestly, save your money for another restaurant where they treat you well and don't force you out. read more

Living in Barcelona after so many years living in the US and other metropolitans can get a bit disappointing when it comes to eating out. Basically the service usually sucks and if you do not follow somebody's recommendation, you can end up in a tourist trap restaurant or at best, average overpriced food with nice decor around your chair. Seek and you will find amazing food in tiny little places in a basement or a back street. To get good service, you pretty much have to go to upscale restaurants and michelin stars and pay a lot for it. Acces was a big hit and remains our best date night in Barcelona. The food was great and service equally good. It was not cheap, but it was not expensive, it was just right. The service was fast even is the place was packed, this was impressive for Barcelona. The Chef came out later and greeted us and other guests and checked up if the food was good. We were a bit tipsy at this point and gave him what I am sure were completely irrelevant comments. I gladly tippled the waiter because he got my girlfriend to order food in under 5 minutes with his recommendations = Winner!! The guy was super nice but you cold see that he is a pro, not just a talker, so I let him pick the wine for us, no cost limit - he picked a great bottle and did't take my shirt off, it was reasonable price and it was perfect for the food that we picked. The food was delicious, on time and beautifully plated, which we appreciate because we love to cook and are getting good with tastes but our dishes look like somebody's kid dropped it on the floor and then scooped it back into the plate. Overall, 5 out of 5 and I am taking my girlfriend back there on our anniversary. read more

We tried to get into Tickets but couldn't get a reservation. Our hotel concierge helped us get dinner reservations at Accés and we were so glad. The owner at Accés is very present and the entire staff was friendly and accommodating to provide excellent service. The owner helped recommend our wine and the incredible dishes. I highly recommend this place. Each bite was savored and deliciously wonderful. As starters we ordered the seared scallops, chilled tomato soup with lobster and the beef cannelloni. We had the suckling pork for our entree. For dessert we had the passion fruit cream with mint and it was the perfect end to our meal. I've traveled around the world and this is literally one of the best restaurants I've ever been to in my life. Fabian the owner was absolutely fabulous and him and his staff made our experience wonderful. Everything single dish we ordered was to perfection. Spent 5 nights in Barcelona eating our hearts out and this was by far our favorite restaurant. We loved it so much we came back for a second dinner -- the only place we visited twice. The first night we had the tasting menu, and the second night we picked more adventurous items. With nearly no overlap besides Foie Gras (yum!), they knocked out of the park every dish we tried. My friend and I were really excited to eat here, but unfortunately no one was interested in serving us. After we were seated, we waited almost 15 minutes before deciding to leave. Not one waiter stopped by to check on us or take our order. We watched several different waiters check on the tables beside us and not one made eye contact. After waiting and receiving no service, we got up to leave. A guy (not sure if he was a manager) tried to get us to stay but it was too late. It is very unassuming from the outside, but inside is a very modern and sleek design with a kitchen you can see into. Hands down, our culinary highlight of 10 days in Spain. This is a 5 Star experience. My wife and I had dinner here, based on online reviews. Now we're stunned that this does not yet have 3 Michelin stars. We agreed it was one of the top dining experiences we've ever had -- and we live in New York! The decor is beautiful, modern, romantic, with an open view of the kitchen, and great music played at low volume--enough for mood but never intrusive. The owner/manager, Fabian, is a delight, He trained at the Breakers in Florida and with Tom Keller at the French Laundry. He walks the floor all evening and tends to every guest, His warmth and pride in his establishment enhanced the experience for us. And the FOOD! It was ethereally good, and different from anything else we had in Spain. S Every dish was delicious, and as skillful a blend of flavors and textures as we have had. We have had meals of comparable quality for 3 times as much. He's undercharging. Seriously. Go, before he realizes it! :) read more
