Im so glad I decided to come here after being fed up with my other auto shop. Requesting a quote & making reservations through the Yelp function was super efficient. I basically came in to just drop off my car and keys with no paperwork to do since they had all of my information when we spoke through Yelp. It wasn't a quick in & out job since they were servicing multiple different cars at the same time, but the wait was reasonable. It's a decent sized, clean waiting room so it wasn't tedious at all. Ace Automotive and Performance helped me out! For a few days I have been looking for some quotes for a new A/C compressor for my 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe as my A/C wasn't working. I was convinced I would have to spend close to $850 to get it fixed. I called ace automotive and they were able to quickly schedule an appointment. I dropped off my Tahoe at around 7:30 AM, a few hours later I got a phone call from Ace. They informed me my air conditioning was fixed, turned out it was not the compressor but instead a small component of the A/C system. This only cost me a fraction of the price, needless to say I was very pleased! Ace usually closes at 5 PM, however, they knew I had to run a long distance errand on this day. Ace employees stayed there about an hour or so passed closing so I could pick up my vehicle. This was the first time I have ever gone to Ace. The people who work at Ace are honest, efficient and just all around good people. This was very refreshing to see as there are not many shops like this around any more, at least in my experience. Took my car in because it was making strange noises while driving and shaking on the freeway. A little upsetting after I've had the shocks, bearings, breaks, and rotors replaced by other mechanics over the past couple years in pursuit of the reoccurring sound and shaking. After it was looked by Ace, I was advised that I just needed new tires and wouldn't be charged for the assessment. It was a total relief! Got my tires replaced and my car sounds like a dream!! Thank you, Ace! We were on a roadtrip from the Sacramento Foothills to Santa Cruz when our car started struggling and the check engine light came on. We tried putting in oil, but that didn't do the trick, so a quick Google search brought up Ace as the closest mechanic. We called and they were able to get us in. We pulled in at 2:00 (on a Friday afternoon), and they had us back on the road 90 minutes later. Totally saved or weekend plans! It's a little thing, but they also had a whole kids area in the waiting room with colouring supplies, books, blocks, and cars. It was a lifesaver for travel with a two-year-old. I also made the decision to bring my car here because the owner was very nice and answered all my questions. They were able to make a diagnosis on my car in a fast timely manner. They were able to get my car fixed and ready to pick up within just a few hours of getting the part for it. The owner was so nice as he tried his best to get my car to me that day because he knew how much of a hassle it was for me to be without it. They even worked passed their closing time to get it done. 9:30 at night halfway to my destination, I stop for gas and my car doesn't turn over, it doesn't even crank at all. Starter assembly needed to be replaced. 50 miles from home, 50 miles from where I'm going. I call the towing company and it'll cost me $400-500 to tow in either direction. No garage is open at this hour and I don't know of one in the area, I Yelp'ed auto mechanic and Ace Automotive comes up, I called and left a message. Approximately an hour later I receive a text message stating that the shop can take me in the morning and that Ed usually arrives at 730am (shop opens at 8:00) and that he will call me in the morning. The next morning I get a call from Ed, he's waiting for my arrival. Once I get there Ed calls for the part but Ed didn't like the price, he thought he could get it cheaper, he makes another search and he finds one cheaper by $30.00. Ed also includes the Yelp 15% discount on labor without me even having to ask. It's refreshing to come across a mechanic/businessman that truly looks out for the consumer. Approximately 2 hours later I'm in the road thanks to Ed and his associate! It would've been sooner but the part took a while to get there. Ace Automotive (Ed's shop), I would highly recommend for anyone in that area for your automotive needs! If I lived in this area I would trust Ace Automotive for servicing my vehicles. I'd give more stars if possible! I purchased a 54' Chevy truck from my neighbor that started sporadically. Got referred to Ace by Specialty Auto Sales in Benicia. Went by the shop and Ed took 30 minutes to talk to me about my truck and show me some of the beautiful projects in the shop. His friendly attitude and knowledge had me sold. I brought my truck in and he replaced a fan relay, rear brake line, master cylinder including brake fluid, king pins on the axle, and a new ignition switch (which was the cause of the starting issue), and some lowering blocks that needed adjusting. I felt good leaving the shop knowing he had looked over my truck and that a mechanic I can trust isn't far. I have told a few people already about Ace and how ED and Donna treat their customers.
