Same as Jason T's experience, this is a "Bait and switch", literally a scam - missed the 1st appointment even though we have reminded the owner twice, resulting a re-scheduling, 1 technician, 1.5 hours, charged more than $500+tax, for the cleaning work. They quoted a price to me over the phone for gas fireplace cleaning that was much lower than what they charged in-person, even though I was very clear on the phone when I spoke with their scheduler. Why did they think I had wood burning fireplaces when I said gas? Also, the person who came to my house did not correctly reinstall the outside pieces of one of the fireplaces, and it fell off, so we had to reinstall it correctly ourselves. Horrible experience. Had an appt today for 11- 1 pm, with advisement that the tech would call with a more accurate time of arrival. Nothing by 1230. Called and left voicemail at office.tech called about 10.min later. he had it as 12-2 , but stayed he had another customer b4 is , so would 4 pm be ok. Thanked him but no thank you. Called and left voicemail with office regarding the issue and that we won't be doing business with them.. It's now 2 pm and they have not responded. Perhaps they are afraid I would yell and carry on? In the olden times, service folks cared about their reputation in the community and would reach out to dissatisfied folks and try and make it right. Times have changed. I wouldn't recommend them as they can't even keep an appt or apprisw the customer if things change. Have no clue about the quality of their work. read more

I would not hire ACE and I strongly recommend you do not. The good: They responded on Yelp quickly and came out quickly. As far as I can tell, my fireplace was cleaned. The bad: Absolutely unprofessional from start to finish, and borderline dangerous. On Yelp, they quoted me $149. Once the guy was here, he insisted it was $400, then raised it to $440 when I couldn't pay cash (so he couldn't cheat taxes). I should have kicked him out right then. The whole time he was here, he gave me the hard sell about some enhanced cleaning service and about cleaning all my heater ducts. I let him look at the registers, which was a mistake because he yanked one off without unscrewing it, permanently damaging it, then he tried to lever it out with a screwdriver, further damaging it so that the damper won't work. He left the door open repeatedly after I asked him to close it so our cats wouldn't escape. When carrying equipment in our house, he knocked things off a table and didn't pick them up. He repeatedly tried to guilt me for taking up his time. I did not feel entirely safe with him in my house. I guess ACE's service is what I get for going with the cheapest bidder in a pinch, a mistake I won't make again. read more

I'm not sure what to think about this business. They were very responsive and sent a tech out within 48 hours to clean our chimney, but when the tech got there he didn't even have a ladder so my husband had to lend him one of ours. Their website says chimney cleaning for $149, but the guy climbed on the roof briefly then told my husband that it would be over $400 to clean it. So weird. read more

Jonathan and an apprentice-in-training, Diego, called about an hour-and-a-half ahead of an ETA that they will be coming and if that would work for me. They drove over an hour to make it to my place and do the job. They showed up at my front porch, cleanly dressed in work uniforms, with COVID-protective masks and went right to work. First step was that Jonathan explained in a great detail, in lay terms, what is going to happen, what needs to happen, and what is recommended as far as the chimney sweeping goes. Jonathan was so careful every step of the way! He cared about my blooming amaryllis plants not to break them, which mattered to me very much. But that aside, Jonathan gave me a thorough overview of the state of the chimney(s), one for the main floor and one for the basement a pot-belly stove. He was so thorough with his recommendations, that I was blown away, to put it quite frankly. When I wrote my initial review, which I took off, I thought this is just "one of that kind of companies that does not care about people from another country." (I have a strong East European accent). Not so with Jonathan. We found a common ground right away, we were like friends by the end of the chimney sweeping job. Jonathan has great qualities as a professional and a person: he is personable, connects with client from the get-go. He "knows what he is talking about" and he does not come up with hidden charges. He is a man of his word - what you see is what you get: the best, highest quality work. I hope that Jonathan will come back in the future for chimney sweeping. And also about Diego: He listened, watched, and learned, sharing of his knowledge sparingly, understanding perfectly well that he is here to do a job and not to "chit-chat." Diego has the developing qualities of a professional, whichever direction he chooses to go. I wish he stays with the chimney sweeping - what a valuable skill to have! Our gas fireplace stopped working without warning on a cold weekend. ACE was the only company who was willing to accommodate us. Gas line was clogged due to years of use (with no maintenance). Technicians got that cleaned and also made sure that everything else was cleanednd working. read more

We have a two story chimney that served fireplaces in the basement and main level. Ben and his team went above to repair, and upgrade it to good working order. Our project was completed in three parts. First, Ace needed to structurally repair and decommission our basement fireplace (damaged by a previous contractor). Next, they cleaned out the chimney of all moss and failing mortar, and re-chinked the upper half. He showed pictures of the inside of the fireplace before and after including the rust and build up on the chimney cap. After cleaning and repair, I must say they look good. I scheduled a chimney inspection.. through Yelp. I was offered 2 time frames and took one. The next day was told that time that was booked and offered 2 others. So I took a different time. When the day and time came and passed I called and was told that there was no appointment in the books for me. He told me he could get me scheduled for the next day. Lucklily I wasn't working, so I agreed. Nobody has showed up for that either and phone call not returned. So now I've spent 2 days waiting for nobody to show up. I don't know if they're overscheduling, or just really disorganized, but overall a very disappointing interaction. read more

We had ACE come out for a service call for our gas fireplace (which would not light). Originally, the technician told me that if he opened it up, the price to fix it would be $500. This seemed high to me but I gave him the okay. So he opened up the fireplace and then said he would need to replace a (tiny little part--he showed it to me but did not name it) and that it would be $200 more. I shared my surprise that that part could not possibly cost $200, and he stated that it was in part because of labor and that he would need to get the part and come back. I asked him how long it would take for him to fix it and he said 1 hour. So for 1 hour of labor and a tiny little part, he was expecting $700. The pricing was very sketchy, and I didn't get a clear explanation of why it would be so much. I ultimately chose not to use this company but had to pay $69 for the service call. I did not feel that the technician adequately justified the high costs he was proposing, and felt like I was being swindled. read more

I felt scheduling went well and the scheduler was willing to work with my scheduler. Unfortunately, the tech that came out wasn't so professional. He did not introduce himself or the company "Is this the address" and when I said I was expecting a chimney cleaning, and I was still talking to him outside my front door he opened the door and let himself in. He pushed several expensive options: Deep clean $450, Brick repair (there was a crack in a brick at the back of my wood stove) $450, and Sanitizing $99 without a clear explanation of why any of those was important. I declined, and he asked again. He offered to do cash under the table so I wouldn't have to pay tax, and I told him I was writing a check, and he AGAIN suggested I wouldn't have to pay tax if I paid cash. Basic clean was quoted at $99 but he wrote $100 on the invoice. I asked what the tax was and he just added $10. Then had me make out the check to Seattle Air Superior. I don't know how clean my chimney is, he vacuumed out a bit with a brush. I was hoping for more education/indication the person who came to my house understood chimney maintenance and repair. I did not get that impression. I just paid and signed that the work was satisfactory because I wanted him out of my house. I don't know if the owner supports the whole "cash under the table" tax evasion but I will not hire this company again. read more

Natan just came and deep cleaned my gas fireplace and replaced all the insulation and lava rocks on the bottom of the fireplace. He was courteous and professional, and my fireplace looks much better than before. I had had my fireplace cleaned about four years ago, but now seeing what Natan did, the company we used previously did not do nearly as thorough of a job. The technician from Ace Chimney came out to look at my gas fireplace because it wont light. He was all over the board with prices. At first he said he could do the repair for around 400.00. They woudn't charge tax if I paid with cash. I got the feeling that he didn't really know what he was doing. He kept calling someone for advise. The final written estimate was 950.00 He did not explain what the repairs would entail. I'm going to get another quote. read more

I do NOT recommend using ACE Chimney Sweep. Firstly, it took four separate scheduling calls to get an appointment set up. Every time they said that a technician would be out, they had to call and reschedule. Once Nathan and the other technician finally arrived, he quoted me $500 to clean my propane fireplace. That seemed outrageously high but there was nobody else in the area that would perform the work so I reluctantly agreed. They went to work for about 30 minutes with a ShopVac going the whole time. When they were finished, they told me they spray painted the inside of my fireplace black "to make it look nice". So I had no way to check if it was actually clean or not. Worse than that, after they left I discovered a coating of soot covering the ENTIRE downstairs area of my house. I'm guessing the ShopVac blew the soot all over. Within 30 minutes of them leaving, my cat's paws were entirely black, and he was tracking soot across the whole house. My wife and I had to spend the rest of the night deep cleaning our downstairs. We went over the floor 3 times with a Swiffer and that wasn't getting everything out, so we had to purchase a steam mop. We then steam mopped the floor 4 more times, and soot is STILL coming out. We also had to purchase an upholstery cleaner to get the soot out of our couch, not to mention wiping every surface down multiple times. This is completely unacceptable and I would stay far away from this company. read more
