It is a privilege to write my very FIRST Yelp review about Ace Dental Boston and this PHENOMENAL team! I've been a loyal patient of another office located in Back Bay for 7 years, but the commute there had become a hassle. I searched for more convenient locations near me in Roslindale and found Ace Dental Boston. (Hyde Park- 12minute drive!) From the very first phone call, the level of professionalism was excellent. Upon arrival, I was warmly greeted and noticed how clean and nicely decorated the space was. The Coordinator (Lindsey) was top-notch and explained everything in detail regarding insurance, services and general information. My RDN, Erin, was great! She was very down-to-earth, knowledgable, informative and easy to talk to. From X-rays to cleaning, she explained things very clearly and I was SO impressed by the modern technologies this office had! The X-ray machine was state-of-the-art and so was the camera used to take pictures of a specific tooth! AWESOME. And then I met Dr. Kim- He is OUTSTANDING!!! His energy is so fresh, genuine and he makes sure you truly understand what is going on with the health of your mouth and teeth. I can go on and on.( And I did to my friends for about 30 minutes after I got home telling them how going to the dentist was the best part of my day today! Haha) I appreciate high quality service and professionalism and that is what this establishment delivered on. It has earned 5/5 stars for exceptional service, appearance and staff. I am not really one to write reviews. I wasn't really sure how to start but I was going to this practice when it was Dr. Dean and I liked Dr. Dean. At one point before he retired and practice changed over I was thinking of switching Dentists because I guess I was looking for change and also second opinion as Dr. Dean told me he thinks I need mouth guard but I didn't want to believe him. But I did need one. Anyway i am glad I still go here. I have nothing bad to say about the new practice! I believe I've been twice already. A cleaning and I just had a root canal on Saturday and I tell you I was not looking forward to it at all!! I was nervous. But it's true as soon as you walk in it's nothing but friendly, professionalism, courteous staff. The girls at front desk are great. Everyone makes you feel comfortable. One of The girls at front desk came and sat next to me and put me at ease before my root canal. My root canal went fine. It took me a long time to schedule this. One was because my ins. But Dr. Kim is great! He cares about his patients. I am glad I did it and got it over with. Very minimal pain or no pain I had and I was also trying to focus on the music. Thank god for the music they had playing! They did the place over which looks nice. Their equipment is up to date! Afterwards I did have little pain after the nova cane wore off but I expected. Review I am not a review person, I don't write reviews mostly. But I want share my experience with Ace dental Boston. I went to a dentist few months ago,because my tooth broke again (this one had root canal few years ago in my country),the dentist suggested to pull it out and do an implant. I always thought I should save my teeth as much as I can, so I decided to ask second opinion about this tooth. I did a lot of research from here and Google, because I don't want to make any mistakes this time ,based on my not good experiences with other dentists. I find few dentist's clinic from Yelp, and visit all in few weeks,then I decided to get my treatment with Dr. Kim I went to Ace dental 3 times, met Lan and Lyndsey ,they were friendly,making an appointment is smooth. I met Dr.Kim, he is young and active, answered all my questions professionally . I like the way Dr. Kim communicated with me. During the treatment,Dr. Kim always checked to see if I felt comfortable . I met Joanna, she been working there for long long time, she also tender with my tooth. So far my new crown is working well, filling of my other tooth is good too. Hopefully this work can last longer. I know how boring it can be working with the same thing every day, I am glad I met the team of Ace dental Boston ,everyone have the passion for their work. I have been looking for a dentist for my family for quite some time now and I'm happy to say I have found it at Ace Dental. I called to schedule an appointment and I spoke to Dr. Kim and he was super informative and friendly. A few days later the office manager Lan reached out to me and she was such a pleasure to speak with and she also went above and beyond to make sure my whole family was covered before our appointment. When we arrived to our appointment we were greeted by their staff and everyone there is very friendly and they make you feel very comfortable. The office is very modern and immaculate. My husband was brought back first while I filled out some paperwork and Lan brought out an iPad to keep my 3 yo busy. A few moments later I was called back and a member of the staff entertained my daughter while I was getting x-rays. Janet was beyond amazing I usually have major anxiety whenever I visit a dentist and I let her know beforehand and she was so gently and thorough I felt no pain what so ever and I was able to relax. Dr. Kim is also amazing he laid out a treatment plan for myself and my husband and we are very happy to have found Ace Dental! We highly recommend Dr. Kim and his staff and I'm happy to say I've finally found a dentist for my family!!!! read more

I recently moved to Hyde Park and was looking for a dentist to get my routine cleaning and exam. A friend of mine in Hyde Park recommended Dr. Kim, and I could not be happier seeing him as my new dentist! First of all, I was very impressed by the atmosphere of the entire office. It was very clean and felt very warm. You know most of the time just sitting in dental office can be nerve wrecking and intimidating! However, Dr. Kim and his staff managed to provide relaxing and warm environment, and I thought that was very considerate for people like myself. Dr. Kim was very kind and gentle. He explained everything in detail, not just looking at my teeth but examining everything above my neck! He did not push me to get any unnecessary treatment and told me that he will carefully monitor small problems I have, so that I do not have to go thru extensive treatments. The hygienist, Elaine, was also very kind and gentle for the cleaning. She took her time to comfort me and cleaned my teeth very well. My experience well exceed my expectation and I am going back to this office after 6 month again. I have no reserve to recommend Dr. Kim to anybody who seeks for a new dentist in Hyde Park. read more

I definitely recommend Ace Dental because of it's great stuff from the front desk with Lan to the back of the office with Dr. Kim and his team. They are all on top of their game, the service is impeccable, I was looking for a dentist since I moved from South Carolina and I found Ace Dental through a referral from a work colleague and I am so glad he referred me. Dr. Kim goes out of his way to welcome new clients (very nice touch) to conversation about my dental health that are involving, as a patient I am not left wondering what just happened to me, he communicates and is happy to illustrate the procedure he is going to perform in such layman terms. I have been to so many dentist and Dr. Kim is the best yet. Apart from the great stuff Ace Dental has the state of the art tools to help perform their work in a seem less way. This office is amazing. I have met everyone in the office and they are all always so happy and welcoming. I have a fear of the dentist and going gives me great anxiety. This office has made going to the dentist a breeze and a pleasure. All of the staff makes sure to say hello. Every interaction and appointment I have had was quick and easy. Lyndsey is so warm and always asks how you are and she genuinely cares. Lan the office manager is so helpful and reassuring and a pleasure to chat with. Janet was so nice and gentle. She reassured me the whole time of my cleaning and checked in to make sure I was ok several times. JoAnne is amazing and kind. She chatted with me and eased my fears during my fillings which I was very anxious about. Dr. Kim is great. He is so nice and did an amazing job on my fillings. This is my first time since Dr. Kim took over this dental office. I have been going to this dental office for almost 15 years now (with the old dentist who just retired), and I was a bit anxious to meet this new dentist. But to my surprise, Dr. Kim was not only very friendly and considerate, but also, he was very competent and professional. His thorough explanation about the treatment that I will be getting reassured me that I was in good hands, and I was satisfied with the fact that he addressed all my questions and concerns attentively. I am also happy that my old hygienist, Elaine and Joanne are still at the office to greet the old patients like myself, and they always make me feel welcome. Another great experience at Ace Dental (well for me, not so much for Dr Kim since I'm a huge baby), but he was great!! so very kind and PATIENT with me, as were all the staff. It was my first visit for my crown, and needless to say my anxiety and past experiences got the best of me. Dr. Kim asked me my favorite singer, threw on some Whitney Houston, and went to work, making sure to check on me and give me small breaks. Harrison his assistant was great too. I can't say enough, and I will continue my treatments. As I tell Lindsey and Lan (who are super cool ladies holding down the office), I'm a flight risk, lol, so they keep me coming back by their professionalism and amazing personalities. This is an honest HONEST review. I never write reviews but I always read them and find them so helpful. This. Is. The. Best. Dentist. Ever. And best dental office, best staff, best everything. This office makes going to the dentist a good experience rather than a traumatizing one. Ive gotten two fillings and not only was it quick it was painless and it was a job well done. They also follow up which shows effort into really caring for you on a personal level. I have endless good things to say about this office. No matter how popular they are, they are on time with appointments and there's no excessive time unnecessarily spent in the dental office. Ace Dental Boston is amazing! Dr Shawn Kim is awesome! He is kind, caring and attentive. Janet, the Hygienist did a fantastic job on my cleaning and Dr Kim did an amazing job on my crowns. I went to Dr. Shawn's office and had an implant for one of my bottom back teeth. I was so nervous because I had never done it before and I hate the feeling when I get a filling at a dentist's office. Before he started, he explained very clearly about the procedure and reminded me why I needed an implant, which I wasn't really concerned about. All I wanted was a painless treatment. After getting a shot, I did not feel any pain at all until the implant was done. Even when I came back home, I just felt a little discomfort around my gum. I was so happy that I had my implant done by Dr. Shawn. He said it takes 2-3 months to make a crown, but I can't wait to chew with my back tooth again. read more

I have been going to the dentist on River Street since it was James Murphy then Dr. Dean and now Dr Kim I had my teeth cleaned the other day, this is my second visit to the office and it was just a great experience from beginning to end. Very relaxing Lindsay the receptionist was super friendly and helpful regarding billing and booking appointments and Estella oh my goodness the best cleaning I've ever had in my life and I have to say sorry to my friend Elaine who used to be my hygienist I saw Dr Kim also came and gave me a good review. I am glad to have followed my instincts and would highly recommend Dr Kim and his team of hygienists! I can't express how happy I am to have found Ace dental. I hate going to the dentist as I always had bad experience since childhood. But since moving to Hyde Park I was looking for something local and I am glad I found them. Everyone is so nice and they always remember you when you go. The location is convenient and the office is updated and clean. They listen to any concerns you may have and take that to consideration when they do their check up and cleaning. For example, my gums are super sensitive due to pregnancy, they were very careful and have great tips to do upkeep at home. You won't regret going! read more

This Dental practice is awesome, what a cool relaxing environment. The staff is incredible. My 3 boys (under 7, one of them ADD) go here and the staff is so accommodating and understanding The receptionist read my kids a book whilst i was with one Son while he was getting cleaned. Very knowledgeable and current with update practices.
