This company has been taken over by Bright View. I used to think very highly of the crews as they were friendly, on time, and did very good work. The problem with this group is management. I have been fighting with them for almost a year now trying to resolve promises not kept by the crew now assigned. They have no problem sending a full invoice and even challenge back after I send before and after pics showing nothing was done. Further, I've provided security camera footage showing the crew show up and leave within 4 minutes and still receive $250 bill with nothing done! Apparently, the owners of the building I work in use SL for snow removal services. I saw them plowing the snow in the parking lot this morning, which is great, because we had quite a bit come down last night. What isn't great is leaving for work at 5pm to see that my car is surrounded in snow up to my knees. They had plowed it around my car, which was parked in a normal spot just like everyone else. I am wearing nice leather work boots and have to kick with all my might to get the frozen snow out of the way so I don't tear off my bumper trying to back up. Real cool. Thanks a lot for that. I won't be using SL for my home landscaping based on this alone. Being courteous goes a long way. Please don't do this to people. read more

My neighbor arrange for this Craig guy to replace 3 posts in our joined fence & he told him he was coming to do the job mid July didn't show up or even call. Then Back in June I contacted him to give me an estimate for my other joining fence with my other neighbor & that neighbor also wanted his other joining fence repaired as well so he tells me he'll come over & give us an estimate. Didn't show up, didn't return my couple of emails just reneged on everything. 3 families just waiting for him because he said he was really busy & didn't have the consideration to even tell us he was bailing on the 3 jobs! For residential yard care I have their gold package which claims to take care of my entire yard including weeds. Essentially all they do is mow my lawn which takes about 5 mins a few times a month. I have discussed the weed issue with Aurora Marin the Residential Operations Manager and she told me that I would have to increase my package to alleviate the issue. This past week I spent two hours pulling weeds which I thought I had paid them to do. Been using their service for almost 2.5 years - think they would treat their customers better. read more

We were in the process of completely redoing our pretty sizeable back yard. It was a mess when we started and needed a fresh start and a fresh take on what we could do with the space. I called and requested a quote and someone with the know-how to be able to redesign the yard. The first person to come out took one look at me and quoted me to re-sod the grass ($5000). I asked him what else they would be able to do for me, and he told me that I had better check with my husband before continuing further. I am a single mom and I own my home. I called the store to complain, and they sent out a "manager" who re-quoted me the same amount for just the sod. When I asked him how much the overhaul would take (I had no idea how much to expect, and I wanted to shop around) he treated me with the same misdirected misogyny as his coworker. In short, unless it's a easy job like bi-weekly mowing or your prepared to flaunt your pocketbook at them, go elsewhere. read more

The technician showed up, replaced the top portion of the valve, gave me a parts invoice for $32.17 and left after 20 minutes. Then I receive a bill for an additional $104.17. Fixed a above ground sprinkler issue in April. Worker replaced all parts. Did a good job. Unfortunately, one of the parts replaced was either cracked or was cracked during tightening and started to leak a few months later. I called Signature, they responded and a different employee replaced the $3.00 cracked part. I later received a $100.00 bill for the service. I complained since part replaced was obviously new and or broken by the original installer. I had pictures of original work and submitted at their request. They later refused to reduce bill stating their warranty is 90 days (not stated on any paperwork) and the part leaking was not replaced by their worker. I won't be using them again as they don't standby their work. read more

These guys really come through when needed, and just recently pulled off an incredible emergency transformation in just a couple days with an army of crew. I like this company for many reasons. They have a large enough staff that they can usually get someone there sooner rather than later for problems or clean up. They show up on the days they say they will. They also put up my Christmas lights. They will work extra if you need it and always give you a quote beforehand. All in all, a very reliable company. read more

I should have read all of the negative Yelp reviews before calling. This company doesn't seem to be run by anyone who understands or cares about customers. I need a small design work done on a rental property in Sparks - nothing too big, just some paver work. After receiving a fancy flyer in the mail, I thought this would be a top-notch company. I called, and was told that I couldn't get a response back to even schedule time to discuss my project or quote for 'several days'. Really? The company is willing to spend thousands of dollars on marketing their services but when potential customers call, they can't be bothered to respond faster than 'several days'. And, the person who answered the phone seemed extremely apathetic about my request for a quote - I'm sorry to bother you with the possibility of paying you! ZERO STARS!!!!!!! Terrible service. Called them to put a new sprinkler in. Did not fulfill agreement. I called specifically for a sprinkler to be moved. Instead, they spent 15 minutes selling me stuff I didn't need. 5 of the 15 minutes spent In a phone call with another customer. Then he gave me the diagnostic, and attempted to leave without doing the work. I paid a 100 dollars for a diagnostic!!!! and I paid for the full hour up front. Had the guy finally just fix the sprinkler that I wanted moved. Nevertheless, I had to provide my own materials, or I would've been charged twice the amount of what the retail price is. Overall, the only signature these guys have is your signature when you sign a check to have them perform a half ass job. Update, after my review the company reached out to me and are now going to credit my account for the two missed services. They also promised to be more diligent in showing up to provide the weekly maintenance services that I contract them for. As such, I am slightly raising my review. If they continue to perform well and the credit is applied to my next bill I will update this again and likely raise the status again. So, let me be specific. I had my back yard landscaped about two years ago. At the same time, since I was traveling a lot, I signed a request for them to maintain my lawn. For the last two years they seemed to do the job well. Unfortunately, this year they failed to maintain my lawn for a couple weeks in late April late May. I called the company to complain. It took them a week to reply and properly maintain my yard. After that they have maintained my yard for a couple of weeks but seem to be falling behind again. I am okay with their service but... I hired them to do a sprinkler line repair I didn't want to do because it involved digging and my back can't take that anymore. I called them and the lady that answered the phone was pleasant and explained that it was $95 a hour and $21.50 every quarter hour after that plus parts. I'm good with that, it's worth the wear and tear on my back. I gave her my credit card card for the $95 first hour. I received a courtesy call informing me when they were going to arrive. So far so good. UI'm waiting to see how the next part plays out. The tech arrived at 9:30 and was finished at 10:15. (Verified by my doorbell cam) The receipt said he arrived at 9:00 and finished at 10:30. What I really have a problem with is that I was charged $8.00 for teflon tape. Really? A roll of teflon tape is 98 cents and they want to charge me $8.00 for a few wraps of tape? I understand mark up but I was also charged $7.26 for a $1.25 plastic nipple. Again, I'm okay with their service but beware of their exorbitant price mark ups. read more

Called on a Wednesday or Thursday to get an estimate on changing sprinkler heads in my yard, the gal said someone would call me back early the next week, I finally got a call on Friday the following week. What was supposed to be a free estimate turned into an $89 dollar fee to come out. I think maybe Signature has completely lost touch with reality or have gotten too big to care about customer service anymore, or maybe they are that busy they don't need anymore work. I really want to like this company. We've been using them for years now, but have finally given up and will be using someone else next season. The quality of the work that they do is fine, and we've been happy with it. The problem is somewhere in the front office. Simple requests, such as winterize our irrigation system takes at least 3 phone calls to get completed (and the fall cleanup we requested wasn't done at all, for the 2nd year in a row). We got lawn aeration free 3 years in a row because we had to make repeated calls to get what we requested. Last year they just stopped charging our credit card for no reason whatsoever (it hadn't expired or something) and started sending us bills instead... which we missed that these were bills instead of receipts and had to jump through some hoops to get that resolved once they stopped showing up for weekly service. The only good news is that they never charged us for any service that they didn't do... they just never do what you ask them to do. Hopefully someday they can figure out how to manage their business and take the money we are trying to pay them. read more

Called to have a sprinkler repaired and some troubleshooting on my irrigation controller (turned out the controller was working fine, it was operator error on my part). They sent Jose I. out to my house. Great guy, he's a credit to their company. He repaired my sprinkler head and reprogrammed my controller. All the while with a smile. Did have to prepay for the first hour, but I can understand them hedging their bets against no-show home owners. I'm currently waiting for a quote for their gold package lawn care services. I picked Signature because they manage my HOA. This was a mistake. We signed up for a service and they were supposed to call the day before they came to do the service. Well this never happen they would show and just do the front yard because my back is locked. The person doing the servicing would say they did my whole yard which is just a lie. I called their customer service line to tell them about this and the lady who answered the phone each time was the most rude person I have ever talked too. She acted like it was my fault that they didn't call me. Also she asked "Well you knew they were coming to do your yard why didn't you unlock your gate. I NEVER GOT A CALL. The service is garbage. In June I contacted Signature to take care of my mom's lawn while we moved her into a nursing home and put the house up for sale. Because I & my siblings live out of state, I offered to give them my credit card so that the bill can be on auto pay. The gentlemen who did the estimate and wrote up the agreement told me it wasn't necessary they would send me a bill. I gave them my home address and thought all was good. 3 months go by no bill, no call. At first I thought they sent it to my mom and she didn't say anything. Then I thought maybe they bill quarterly. Well, I just got my first bill and I called to see why they charged me a finance charge. The explanation was that it was a charge for not paying. I tried to explain that I couldn't pay something that I don't know what the amount is. They verified the address 3 times and because it was correct, it wasn't their fault it was mine. We called in July to make a change and no one mentioned that their was a payment past due, we called in August when the house sold and again no one mentioned anything was past due. They said they called, but I have no message on my phone. When I called today the young lady couldn't do anything. She talked to her supervisor and the supervisor "Julie" said no, it can't be changed. When the girl came back online she notified me of what the supervisor said and then offered to transfer me, which went directly to voicemail. So my suggestion is find another company, if you don't want to be nickled & dimed and treated like another #. They don't care about customer care. It's their word, against mine and I'm fine with that, because I'm telling the truth. The fine was minimal, but the service spoke volumes. There's many companies to choose from... read more

The guy came out in the rain only to tell me he couldn't fix them today and the price for fixing it would be over $700. I told him no thank you. The next week I received a bill for $89 even though no one told me it would cost for an estimate. He did no work and was at my business for about 20 min. So we thought we had this fixed. They came out and chopped my plants. My red hot pokers were chopped to bits. I don't know if they will come back. We had a gentleman come and look at our sprinkler system on the Saturday after they said they would come in the week. He stated that the valve was broken and that he would send someone out to give us a quote on fixing it. We haven't heard a thing but did receive an invoice for 90.00 for him to not do anything. Again we have called and left messages with no response. We also were charged for the cleanup in the amount of 250.00 and it was a horrible job as I said. I would really like an owner to come and see. But we can't even get a return phone call. It is really sad because you want to give business to someone but it is not working. This place is horrible. My work has a contract with them for snow removal and they don't follow the contract and each bill they are always trying to over charge us and we have to fight them on it. Unfortunately, I called Signature to do some tree trimming for me. They sent their arborist who gave me an estimate and told me what needed to be done to my trees. He was rarely there when his crew was and I had to tell his crew what to do. They came while I was not home and left all the clippings all over my yard as well as my neighbors. Didn't finish the job and I guess the guy quit so my job was never finished. I called Signature and they sent another guy who told me there was nothing that needed to be "finished." He clearly didn't want to do the job. So, my job is still not done according to the original estimate by the original arborist. Despite calling Signature twice, the manager never called me back and Signature still continues to bill me for the entire job even though it's not finished. I worked with Gary at Signature Landscapes to schedule a yard trim and cleanup for a home we recently purchased, and I am very pleased with the results. The crew showed up on time, worked hard and the yard looks great! The only reason that I am unable to give 5 stars is that I did have to call the office a couple of different times over several days and left a few messages before I received a return call. Once Gary called, we are able to communicate very effectively via his cell phone. The service team and sales departments are great, but the scheduling department could use improvement. Besides the slight scheduling delay, I am pleased with their service and will use them again. read more

Hired them to do some clean up which we cancelled after the first one because for $250 we didn't notice any difference. But we also hired them to do a small landscaping job for $1,800 (which seemed expensive for the scope of the job). Anyway, they were supposed to do a little section (about 15% of our yard and take out some grass in a nice design and put in some plants). They ended up taking out 75% of our lawn and planted a bunch of dead plants and we have to now pay $5K to fix it and put our lawn back. I did complain and they gave me a discount and then followed up with a bill. I thought the bill was sent in error and didn't pay it due to problems with the landscaping. I'm trying to attach a photo so hopefully it will help with the review. Instead of sending a letter stating the bill needed to be paid, they sent it to collections! Couldn't believe it - a simple letter would have sufficed stating that they are not going to waive this part of the bill due to the problems. Horrible service! I wanted my yard cleaned up, trees trimmed and my sprinkler fixed. It took a full 2 months to finally recieve the servicecs needed. Each time I had to meet with a different person for a separate quote, not a big deal except that it took quite a long time to even meet with the people and then the service we discussed would happen (and what I was quoted for) was not fulfilled. I was also told half would be charged upfront and then the other half would automatically be charged once the service was completed. I never was charged for the second half and then suddenly I receive a statement saying I am past due for not paying. Awful service, I will never use them again read more

Terrible!! We called to have them dethatch our lawn and clean up the yard. An estimator came out and then awhile later the accounting department called for us to prepay. We did. And then they said someone else would call when they could come out. We finally got a call a month later that they would be there the next day. They never showed!! We called for a refund (several other people in our area did too) and the accounting department told us that they had no record of us paying. Our visa statement said otherwise. This company is poorly managed and nobody seems to be on the same page. Customer "service" means nothing to them. They are inflexible. Do not expect to get any situation resolved in a timely manner despite what they tell you. Return calls never happened and even trying to go up on the food chain to speak with someone more in charge fails miserably. I suppose the actual service when they decide to come is marginal at best. There are much better. I've used this company since they were Reno Lawn & Landscape and it has deteriorated badly. They just merged with Celtic. I feel sorry for those previous customers as they are in for a bad surprise. I don't like to give such poor reviews but this company has earned it in every way.
