I had to order my scrubs through Ace Uniforms and both times I placed an order there has been some kind of mistake. I had first ordered a scrub top and a polo shirt online. They sent me a scrub top with the wrong embroidery and a polo three times the size I ordered. I had to exchange it at the store. Luckily the staff was very friendly about it and gave me the correct items I originally ordered. But it was still a nuisance to drive all the way downtown just to fix this, especially since I paid for shipping. I might as well have chosen the "pick up at store" option in the first place. The second time I ordered something online I chose the "pick up at store" option in case anything like my first experience happened again, that way I could fix the problem right then and there when I picked up my items. Weird enough, my order was sent to my house. Not really a huge setback for me since I didn't have to waste my time and gas to go to the store, but still not what I was expecting. The service here used to suck! But in my most recent visit everyone has been so helpful and pleasant to deal with, maybe they got some new staff? I really like this place because of the variety available. The only downside is their return policy, or lack there of I should say. I bought some pants, they were altered (which I wasn't pleased with) and they were also the wrong color .... I didn't get compensated in anyway. Not even partial refund or store credit for mistakenly getting the wrong color. I am human after all! And the hours stink! I imagine a lot of people work 8-5 or 9-5 jobs.. which makes it hard to even get in the store! read more

The owner of this store is shady and over charges customers beyond belief. Thank goodness a 5.11 store opened in San Diego no longer do I have to subject myself to the rude staff, owner who's always ready to be argumentative with customers, the disorganization, and blown up prices. I just moved to the San Diego area, and was in a huge rush today to get my scrubs embroidered as soon as possible, and Jorge Mejia made the process so simple and easy! I had just driven all over town trying to find someone who could embroider just a single line, and he walked me through the form, showed me my different font options, and made sure my scrubs were finished in less than 15 minutes! He was even kind enough to show me where the clearance section was for the next time I came, and as well as where to find my preferred brand of scrubs. All the employees were very kind, and I was very impressed by not only the variety of merchandise, but also the prices! I'm really happy I found Ace Uniforms, and it's a huge relief that I can purchase and embroider my uniforms in one spot, especially for someone who is new to the area, and running on a nursing student budget. read more

Then she walks away and ask in the front desk, she comes back and tells me to follow her to the back and tells me to HELP look for the scrubs...(not my job) then she says they dont have them in stock, that they will have to order them(after they had called my gf to tell her she could come pick up the scrubs that day) so 30 min drive for nothing read more

I bought my uniform jacket here and was told it would be ready in two weeks. All I needed done on my coat was to take in the back just a little bit. I called the shop a day before my it would be ready and spoke to a representative. The clerk confirmed with me that my jacket would be done and ready to be picked up the next day. I went to the shop the next day after I got off and sat in downtown traffic to pick up my jacket. When I arrived I went straight to the back to pick up my jacket. The tailor grab my ticket and began looking for my jacket. When she finally brought it out, she told me that they have not started on my jacket yet. The coat I bought from them was literally sitting in a bag untouched for TWO weeks! To make it worse I was told by them it would be ready to be picked up. I had to come back two days later after I got off work, and sit through downtown traffic again to get my coat. Horrible experience. read more

I came here to buy some new scrubs. The selection was impressive, but the shelves were a disaster. We had to dig through the mess to find the sizes I needed. A girl was working a few feet away and didn't offer any help, even though there was a sign saying "please ask for help with sizes." Eventually, I asked her, and she just seemed annoyed with me. She told me they were out of my size in all the colors I had requested. I went up front to the counter to place an order, and a different employee named Kim turned out to be amazingly helpful. When I told her what I wanted, she walked right over to the shelf and within three minutes, pulled every size and color that I was about to place an order for. Thank you, Kim! Instead of simply stating his Store Policy, he went so far as to carry on an accusatory interrogation of my Boyfriend's Credentials. I will NEVER shop there again! I love this place! I work at the hospital and wanted to stock up on some scrubs and get a new pair of shoes while they have this awesome sale. While shopping for my shoes I was assisted by a wonderful gentleman, Jorge Mejia! Originally, I tried getting help from a gal who unfortunately didn't speak very good English but props to her for trying! Just when I thought I was at lost for the pair of shoes I wanted, Jorge came through to save the day! He personally walked me through their warehouse in the back, searched multiple shelves and finally found the shoes I wanted in the color I wanted and the size I needed. He also gave some feedback on the quality of the shoes which made me even more excited to purchase them! Scrubs and shoes in hand he then walked me up to the register and sealed the deal. Came in to help a friend find leather work boots and a list of other uniform items. I over heard 2 male employees arguing at the register, one of them(younger male) came over to help us in boots, he was very pushy and rude when we told him our preference in what type of boot we wanted. The rudest manager asked me to never shop there again just because I wanted to return scrubs that was never worn and not needed. I went to Ace Uniform looking for a particular type of pants required for work, which I've purchased at other uniform stores in Los Angeles (both Galls and Quartermaster) before without a problem. The employee I spoke to at Ace (I did not get his name) decided to insult my intelligence rather than helping me find the pants I was seeking. After I told him that I'm looking for double knit polyester pants, he commented "What?! You're way too young for those." and "Do you even know what double knit polyester pants are?" (as if I had just strung a bunch of words together not knowing what I was seeking). After the third time I asked him if he carries them, he finally told me that he does not, and that no uniform store does (which is clearly untrue, as I've purchased them from other uniform stores in the past). The only reason I rate Ace Uniform higher than one star is because they did appear to have a very large selection of gear, the location is very convenient and parking was easy. It is completely understandable that they did not stock the item I was looking for (I don't expect every store to have everything I need on hand), but because of the rude service, insult to my intelligence, and false information I was given about Ace's competitors, I did not bother to ask if they could special order it. I'll spend my dollars at a store that treats me like they want my business. I do not see a reason to return to Ace Uniform. read more

I ordered some Dickies pants that had the size tagged wrong so I had to send them back. I spoke with Angela and she told me as soon as she received the incorrect pants she would credit my shipping expenses. It took multiple emails and phone calls before she finally credited my shipping expenses several weeks later. She was also supposed to send me some replacement pants. I had to remind her several times over a 2 week period to do that as well. This woman says things and never follows thru. I have one pair of Dickies pants that they sent that is no where near the size it says it should be that I am not even bothering with sending back. I've had enough. Will never order from these jokers again and recommend you don't either. read more

I've been going to ACE for sometime and I've never had a bad experience! On contrary! I've had great experiences and although some of their items are a little overpriced, they have always provided the BEST customer service. They have everything you are looking for!! Overpriced. Unaccountable staff that don't take responsibility for their mistakes. Ordered nametags from them for my Esthetics program and they lost my order. I was in a near panic when they had no record of my order. Thankfully I'd already learned my lesson ALWAYS SAVE YOUR RECEIPTS! It took a lot of hassle to get THEIR mistake fixed. Can't believe that my program forces us to order through them. Other students complained with similar problems. Is there some sort of kickback they're offering the staff at the school? I went here and spent about $400 in total. Before I checked out the girl helping me was great and I had zero complaints. She told me that the tailoring could be done in 30 mins, or I could come back anytime to pick up my things. I came back the next day and I see the same woman that helped me the day before. I asked her about my tailoring and she pointed towards the back door and told me it's in the back. I go in the back room and the two women in the back were no help. I had to prompt them to try and figure out where my stuff was. I got half of my order and was told one shirt wasn't done. I waited another 20 minutes and finally got the rest. Not a big deal, but I figured if i spent $400 you could at least have the order ready, call me if there were alteration questions, and walk in the back and get it for me. Called Ace this morning to check if they had the uniform pants I have been trying to find for the last week and they did, took a small field trip down to SD! When I walked in the store I was immediately greeted and told someone would be right out and they were with my pants! Fast friendly and great prices! It was definitely worth the trip! read more

Been there many many times and the staff there treat me as a friend and not just another shopper or number..great people there. Ray is like the heart of the staff and the staff and people there work great around him. The store has everything you could ever need for duty, whether it's for patrol, fire, nursing (Talk to Jerri or Julie for that btw) or whatever..only thing they don't have is firearms that's it, but they carry the largest amount of gear anyone can have, and if they don't have it Ray can do his best to get it for you. The tailors there are a great pair of ladies that'll go above and beyond to make you happy and can sometimes (have many times) done on the spot alterations to make a customer happy, which i've never seen any other places do, period..And If you have defective gear they'll take care of you and not give you the run-around like other places, they want happy customers I tell ya...Ask real Officers and they'll tell you how the staff treats you like family. I've shopped at all the other uniform shops and this one makes them all look like amatures..prices are the best around too by far. Well what can I say but five stars for a great spot!!! I have worked for two EMT companies in the past and have always come here for my uniforms! I was going in for a new Emt shirt yet one of the girls persuaded me to check out the new and improved super comfy 511. I wasn't trying to spend 100$ on my visit yet I tried them on and they felt great! Soo.. I got them. Everyone was really helpful and knew what I needed. This morning I finally tried the shirt on and it was big on me, yet I called early morning asked if they could do something about it and they worked with me! I came today and they fixed it right away, nobody was upset, they all helped out and worked as a team to get me outta there quickly.(as any good company should) I felt great leaving there with a shirt that fit me perfect and at ease that no one was upset! I'm a massage therapist and recently ruined a favorite work top by getting a large oil stain on it. I used to wear scrubs to work and know that these days they have some very flattering ones, also wanted to check out some work aprons. I went to Ace and was in a bit of a hurry. Every worker there looked busy, but also noticed me and stopped what they were doing to inquire whether they could help me. Two of the workers showed me the aprons and I decided on one right away that was cute and would protect my clothes and had pockets for my oil and such. They brought me to the cash register right away and the manager rung me up. He gave me his card and let me know they do logos on all there uniforms, aprons, etc ... I was in and out in probably less then 10 min and was pleasantly surprised at how hospitable everyone was in the short time I was there. I will definitely be back. read more

This place has probably everything that you're looking for when it comes to duty gear, medical scrubs, and law enforcement uniforms. From uniforms to shoe shinning, they have it all. The only thing that I can gripe about is the cleanliness of things. They had pants, belts, hats, and shirts all over the floor (everywhere). It was like a tornado ran through it! But other than that, it's a good place to buy quick gear if you're shopping for any! read more
