We had, past tense, an ant problem in two different areas of the house. We tried to resolve the issue ourselves with various sprays from Home Depot, etc but nothing really worked. So, we contacted four different companies through Yelp and waited for the quotes to arrive. Achieve was the *only* response that matched their own page (ie less than 1 hour). The others fell short by hours. Lance came out to observe and then spray the exterior of the house only. This was one of my requirements because we have dogs and our previous pest management company was able to keep the insects away by only spraying the exterior. Unfortunately, the ants persisted in one of the two areas. So, Lance came out again, and this time sprayed the inside. He spent about 5 minutes watching the floor, tracing the ants and pinpointing the access areas in the walls. His attention to detail seemed to have fixed the ant problem, at least for this season. I can't believe all the 5-star reviews are real people. The company did a gopher service for us that was very expensive. They left some traps in the ground and checked them a couple of times. That was almost $300. No gophers were trapped. So 30 days and hundreds of dollars for nothing. I went out and bought the same off-the-shelf Gopher Hawks at Ace Hardware and caught four gophers in a matter of days. They may be good with other pests, but I do not recommend them for gopher elimination. read more

We have regular ant invasions during the summer. Thousands pouring in like a horror movie from power outlets, the fireplace and the dishwasher. We are also infested with black and brown widow spiders which is not ideal for our baby. I called Achieve. They have a nice standard monthly rate which is clear upfront. Scheduling was easy. I live in the Bay Area of Nor Calif but my disabled sister lives in a house we both own in San Diego County. The house had a rat problem so I contacted Achieve Pest Management (APM), among other rat control businesses. After checking with other similar businesses for estimates Achieve Pest Management offered the right fit of closing up entry points, and trapping rats instead of using poison baits or other methods. Their inspection was better than the San Diego County vector controls, their fees were less than their competition (much better value with more house visits), but most importantly I felt that I could trust APM, especially since I was not in SD County to verify and monitor. Pest management is never something fun to deal with. We discovered gophers in our backyard, and weren't sure what we needed to do. Lance came by and explained the whole process to me. Such a lovely and straightforward guy. He set the traps and walked me through what to anticipate. He was on time, friendly, and arrived for the follow-up checks over the coming days exactly as planned. He was even empathetic about the catching the animal part. We caught the culprit, and he said he'll be back to check the second trap in another few days, just in case. I saw the positive reviews and messaged Achieve at around 8pm on Friday for help with rats that we recently discovered in our attic. I expected to hear back by Monday during business hours, but was surprised to see that Oscar had quickly responded within 2 hours. He provided me with estimates and said that he could try to come out the next day if he had openings. Oscar texted then next morning and he came out at 2pm. He did an entire inspection of our attic and home. He showed me areas of the home that he recommended to seal with steel wool and others areas with wire screens to prevent the rats coming into and out of the house. He suggested that we first seal those areas and see if we continued to hear rat activity before calling him to set out traps. He spent an hour at our home with a free inspection, but did not push for us to move forward with the actual removal until we tried his suggested approach first. Listen, I had two other big companies and they didn't deal with the rats that had eaten there way from our garage into our kitchen. Literally ate through the floor and the dishwasher wires!!! Lance came in and caught the 12 that set up shop in our garage and we haven't had any trouble since. My husband was gone and Lance came every other day to dispose of them. He even went through our entire garage plugging any ways they could get in and into our kitchen. He saved us from the whole colony taking over. He is just fantastic. We also get sprayed for our spiders and he was very honest with what works and doesn't. (Like you are never going to be totally spider free but if we kill their food they will hopefully move on.) Oscar of Achieve Pet Management quickly and efficiently took care of a bee colony in our attic three years ago. So when my wife was alarmed by what looked like an in ground colony of dangerous yellow jacket wasps in our backyard, I called Oscar and he came over the next day.
