This company was hired by our property management company to replace some damaged wood trim around the roof perimeter. They were brusque in their communication and damaged/destroyed several of our belongings. They were incredibly disrespectful about the damage. Verbatim; "If you want me to say sorry, I'm not, it had to be done". A day later, we are finding sandwich wrappers in our plant pots, and cleaning up paint and detritus that was just left behind. I'm reading other reviews seeing that people have had good experiences with this company when it comes to pest control, I can't speak to that. For building repair and structural work, I would stay away. For a company that is supposed to be improving people's homes, their consideration and respect for our living space and things was deplorable. read more

Decent price, good communication but bad quality work. Long story short, they left 4 holes on my roof. The holes came from removing old satellite dish in order to replace the damaged wood underneath. I can easily patch the holes but this was not communicated to me. Luckily for me I was up on the roof doing Christmas decorations when I saw those holes. It was raining quite a bit a couple days ago too so I don't know if there has been any water damage. I'm just glad I found out about it now before it's too late. read more

My partner and I have had two extremely negative interactions with Knight Termite Interaction 1 - Weekend of September 24, 2021 One of our immediately adjacent neighbors sold their property, and as part of the negotiations had the house tented for termites. Knight Termites had us sign the permission form to come onto our property the day before. The day of tenting, rather than knocking on our door/ringing the doorbell for us to know when we need to secure our dogs and open the gate for them, they hopped our back fence to get access to the property. We were home and were happy to provide access. If they had at least attempted to contact us when they arrived we would not have been upset. When they took down the tents, they again did not knock on our door, and started yelling through the fence since we had secured it. We were happy to let them in once they notified us so we could again, secure our dogs and provide them access (this was not a problem for us, we just wanted to know when they were there). They then blatantly lied saying that they rang our doorbell to gain access. Again, we were home and had nest camera evidence that they did not come to our front door. Knight Termite also ended up digging up dirt in our yard as ballast for some of the tenting material which seems unprepared and unprofessional. More unprofessional was that when they left, they did not fill in the holes and left disturbed property and tripping hazards for our family and pets. Interaction 2 - Weekend of March 3, 2023 Our other neighbor was having his house tented, and knew we wanted to have our garage tented. He asked if we wanted to have his termite company do our garage at the same time to try to get everything done at once. We agreed but didn't realize that he was hiring Knight Termite until it was too late in the process to back out without causing a lot of headaches for our neighbor. We were also hoping that as a paying customer, Knight Termite would treat us better than our previous interaction with them. The initial walk-through seemed to go well. Both my partner and our neighbor explicitly asked about whether the gate next to the garage would need to be taken down or if it would be unsecured during the fumigation process. The representative told both of them separately that they would be able to pull out one fence panel between the garage and gate to allow the gate to stay closed while adequately tenting the garage. My partner and I were out of town when the tent was put up, but despite the re-assurances we had been given, saw from our backyard cameras that Knight Termite had not only set up the tent with the gate open in it, but did not provide ANY form of security. Again, this is after being told during the walk through that this would not happen. If we'd been told previously that they would have to enclose the swing gate, we would have made plans to figure out how to secure the gate ahead of time. Since we were out of town, our neighbor had to secure the gate for us so that no one could come in or out of our backyard (this was very time and labor intensive for him, and required an additional trip out there since they were staying elsewhere while their house was being fumigated). Additionally, we were unable to get any response from our calls to Knight Termite to see if they could provide any assistance. We are extremely disappointed with how Knight Termite has treated our property multiple times. I would much rather pay more to deal with a company that treats its customers well, as well as not making the neighbors angry. read more

If I could give no stars I would. I work from home and have asked that they either call me to let me know when service is on the way or kindly knock and notify that they are here... reason being is a) no one wants a stranger walking around their house when they are possibly just coming out of the shower b) i have pets (dog & birds) and leave the doors and windows open for fresh air. On Roberts last visit I was not notified and my dog was at the screen door when he started spraying practically in his face.... I don't care how safe they say the spray is that should have NEVER happened!! Then to make it worse I called Stephanie to notify her of the incident and it seemed like she could care lesss.... Since I never heard back from Robert, Stephanie or anyone else I chose to take my business else were and I hope current and new customer do the same!!! read more

Termites! YUCK!!! I freaked out when I came home and saw a ton of what looked like flies laying around dead in our bathroom. UGHH... it was soo nasty. But they weren't flies! they were termites (basically flies with some extra wings).... ughhhhh! I don't even know how I stumbled across finding Knight, but I had regular pest service with another company but they quoted me much higher than Knight... so I opted to go with Knight for the Termite gig. Mind you, this was back in 2007 and we live in a 2 story house... cost us about $2000 to tent up the house and kill those bastards! They were very professional, explained all the nitty-gritty details. They told us about some things we could do to as preventative measures (keep paint fresh on our wood fence, trim tree branches away from touching the house, etc). It was very informative. Fortunately, there were no damage to the roof shingles during the job, so they basically came, did their job, and two days later the tent was gone. It's kind of an apprehensive moment thinking that you need to leave your home unlocked and stuff with all your stuff in there, but who wants to walk into all that poison to steal your stuff anyways? Its been three years and I haven't had a problem with termites since. whew! read more

The other company charged me for work not done and I was not able to get termite clearance to close on the transaction to sell my grandmothers home. I will try to give zero stars here. They inspected ok. But when it came to repair I must have gotten the lackee. They built a hot water heater stand for 3x more than it costs to buy a metal one. They decided it was important to paint my garage outside trim and cut the board in the rain. Leaving one board shorter, different color and painted horribly, and had to be repainted to fix it. I had to get a new water heater box $50 (home depot off the shelf) cause the one they made for $150 didn't pass code inspection, A small partial refund was given for the water heater box after many calls to an angry man. Actually now Im wondering did they inspect well? I still have subterranean termites, so maybe not. OK they suck... read more

When I realized I had termites, I got really worried. It was my first time dealing with this issue. I started calling friends for referrals and Knight Termite came up. I called and first of all, I actually reached someone that me what they were taking about. They didn't need to call me back, they stayed on the phone and discussed my situation in detail with me. I got lucky and spoke to Harris, the owner. He calmed my termite worries and set up an appointment for the same day. after he checked out my situation, he gave me options and didn't try to sell me on the most expensive service. He gave me an honest recommendation and I'm so glad I went with it. As a comparison, I had another bigger named company come out and they wanted double the price for the same work and the guy was obviously trying to upsale me. This review involves two termite companies which we found both to be dishonest! In October of 2014 we were selling our condo and our realtor had Farmer Termite Control in Oceanside, come out to inspect for termites, according to their report there was evidence of termites in the attic and quoted a charge of $525 to treat the area. We realized that the attic was covered by the HOA under the Hydrex Pest Control company, so we had Hydrex come out to treat the area as there would be no charge, since it was covered under the HOA contract. Neither the guy from Hydrex nor my husband could find anywhere that Farmer Termite Control marked where there was suppose to be termite evidence in the attic, nor could Hydrex find any sign of active termites after looking all over the attic. When the Hydrex termite inspector came out to clear the condo of termites, he again looked all over the attic and the interior of our condo and still found NO evidence of termites. He stated that there was some sawdust and some silverfish droppings, but no evidence of active termites. The buyers wanted a "third" opinion, so they had another company come out, Knight Termite and Pest Control. This company pulled the same scam as the Farmer Termite Control did, they told our realtor that they found evidence of termites in the "same" spot that Farmer found. Not sure how that was possible when it wasn't marked. They quoted $435 for their termite treatment. We refused to pay, so our realtor actually paid out of his pocket, just to appease the buyers. Both Farmer Termite Control and Knight Termite and Pest Control company seem to be taking advantage of doing termite inspections during escrow transactions and falsifying evidence. We were really upset about this and feel that both companies are ripping sellers off through escrow. Normally, the sellers take the word of the termite inspector and what is a few hundred dollars in the big picture of an escrow. It is very dishonest and we want sellers to beware. We will continue to trust Hydrex, as they are the only termite company out of the three that was honest! read more

I am big on referrals so when I needed to have termite tenting I asked a neighbor who they had used. Knight was the company. Our neighbors were pleased with both the price and how they handled the tenting. So after interviewing them we hired them to do our tenting. The process of having to tent your home is no small job but Knight provided me with good advice and bags for the food. They were professional in the process of tenting- keeping in mind all the landscaping that we had around the house and helped us to save as much as possible. They also spend time trying to educate clients to prevent termite and other pest problems. Their prices are very reasonable. I would have given five stars, but I felt the cost to renew the contract (after three years initial guarantee) was pretty high for an annual contract.
