*updated stars after communication from owner*…read more I think the quality at Alan David is very good--my previous suit from them is excellent and gets frequent compliments. That's why I returned in May 2025 to order a sportcoat. Unfortunately, the customer service this time fell short of my expectations. By late August, I realized I hadn't heard anything about the order and called for an update. I was told the fabric had been out of stock and later delayed due to the factory's vacation schedule, which seemed reasonable enough. In September, they contacted me for a fitting, but the appointment date inadvertently fell on a holiday when the store was closed. I rescheduled for October. At that visit, I was told the jacket would be ready in a few weeks, but again, no one reached out. In December--more than six months after ordering--I called once more and received a text saying they'd follow up with an estimated date. When I expressed frustration about the lengthy delay, they acknowledged that the initial order had been submitted late, which contradicted earlier explanations. To their credit, they took responsibility and offered a generous store credit, which was appreciated but not expected. The reason for my three-star rating isn't the final product, which was fine, but the lack of proactive communication. I had to repeatedly contact them just to understand what was happening with an order that had been paid for months earlier. Even my salesperson at Macy's is more proactive--and I don't spend thousands of dollars at a time there. My husband has had consistently positive experiences at Alan David, so I do believe my situation was an outlier and wouldn't discourage others from trying them. They ultimately handled the service recovery well; I only wish the issue had been acknowledged and addressed earlier. My hope is simply that their follow-up and order tracking become more reliable moving forward because otherwise, you might be left with the feeling that once you've paid, nobody really cares.

I also chose blue paisley lining, along with a fabulous brown button. When I was being measured I pleaded with the fitter not to make the garment too tight. Bespoke tailors have a tendency to do this. When I returned for fitting number one I mentioned that the draft was too tight. Fitting number two was still too tight, so they opened up the jacket as far as it could go. As of now the jacket fits, but if I gain two pounds I'm going to be out of luck. Add to this that it took eight weeks to finish the product and I'm not very happy. My future business will be going to Albert Lam and Joseph Genuardi.

We would not recommend KEP to anyone that has a strict deadline and/or anyone who expects a high level of customer service. After receiving a few recommendations from friends, my now husband and I made an appointment in the NYC store on May 10 looking for white jackets and black pants (for made to measure) for our wedding on the west coast on August 20 (so, at least 3 months in advance). After a LOT of back and forth (finding white vs. cream fabric is a lot more difficult than it sounds) we finally found fabric that we wanted and on May 24 went through the entire process of getting measured and paying a lot of money (thousands of dollars each) for the outfits. Since KEP was a well-known brand, especially in the gay community, we were excited about our decision to splurge a little bit on this, with the expectation that the service would be great and that this would be something we didn't need to stress out about last-minute. We were very wrong. Fast forward a month later, on June 21, we received a call from KEP saying that they actually didn't have enough of the white fabric we chose to make two jackets, and there wasn't enough time to wait until they received more in stock. So they said we should come back in to pick a different fabric. Since we already paid and already got measured and frankly didn't have enough time to go elsewhere, we rushed into the store to pick a different fabric. The new fabric we chose cost more than our original, and given the situation KEP offered it to us at no additional charge. We felt like things were back on track and looked forward to our fitting a few weeks before the wedding to make any last-minute adjustments. More time goes by, and then we hear from KEP saying that they need to push our fitting from a few weeks before the wedding to 10 days before the wedding. We became more nervous, especially because we had planned for KEP to ship the outfits to the west coast so we wouldn't have to travel with them. Then, when that date approached, KEP said we would have to push it to 8 days before the wedding (the Friday before). We became more nervous. When we came to the fitting, we learned that only the jackets were ready, and not the pants. The jackets needed adjustments. We asked when the pants would be ready for us to try on and they said they would let us know ASAP. The entire weekend went by and we did not hear anything from them. We called, messaged, and texted just about everyone we could find who works at the company and heard nothing until Monday morning (5 days before the wedding), when they said that everything is fine and that they are shipping our pants directly to the west coast. This obviously made us extremely nervous because this meant that we wouldn't be able to trying our pants on prior to the wedding. We asked them to ship the pants to the west coast as soon as possible so we could get them tailored there if necessary. Miray (the co-founder of KEP), instead of apologizing for the last-minute scramble and rushing, reminded us how they have been good partners and assured us that the pants would be fine and that we had nothing to worry about. The pants arrived on the west coast 3 days before the wedding and they were, as expected, too big. In the midst of everything else going on, we had to rush a tailoring job (through a tailor we found on our own) and paid $90 to fix the pants. We picked up the pants the morning of the wedding. The thing that bothered us most was not the fact that our outfits arrived behind schedule. It was the extreme lack of service we experienced throughout the entire process. Communicating with the co-founder of the company, as well as the NYC representative, was always terribly painful. There was a lack of responsiveness, a lack of answers, and a lack of urgency. For a high-end store, we found the service to be seriously disappointing. Having to deal with last-minute adjustments before your wedding (among everything else) is one of the most stressful experiences in itself, but the feeling of having to deal with it alone, without the support of the company you just paid thousands of dollars to, is the highest insult. No one from KEP ever apologized for this experience, instead saying that they understand weddings can be stressful. After the wedding, we emailed Miray asking if they could reimburse us for the $90 rush tailoring. She did not respond. I followed up and said that we were planning to write reviews of all of our wedding vendors online. She did not respond.

This place is the worst. DO NOT COME HERE for anything…read more I went there about a month ago to get a pair of jeans altered. Which is a pretty simple task for a place like this. I'm no expert on alterations, but I can't think of anything more basic that a place like this can do. Needless to say, it took forever and they screwed up my jeans. They lied to me numerous times about when the jeans would be ready. And when the jeans finally came back, they were altered wrong. It doesn't take over two weeks shorten jeans! They were very rude to me as well. If a place does not know how to shorten jeans and treats it's customers poorly, why would you want to spend thousands of dollars on custom made clothing here? There are plenty of other places where you can buy custom made clothing with quality alterations and good customer service. Go there and avoid Klein Epstein & Parker.

However, my positive experience came to an end as CEGO was repeatedly late by weeks on its promises, so that even three months after I made my deposit, I still did not have my first shirt. After each one of my three visits, spaced multiple weeks apart, CEGO was late on their estimate for that portion of the work. They never called me on their own with updates. I would call them a week or two after the originally estimated time of completion to check in, and it seemed to me that only then would they really attend to my work. In my last visit, Fernanda told me my shirt would be ready and mailed the next day. A week later, I still had received no shirt, so I called them and was told that it would be yet another week. At that point I realized that this pattern could go on forever if I allowed it to. I asked for a refund of my deposit, which Carl gave me on the same day. He apologized and said they had been overwhelmed with work. I accepted the apology and said I understood that these things happen. Still, my conscience wouldn't rest easy if I didn't write this review. I spent hours commuting to and from CEGO (I'm from out-of-town and went solely because of CEGO's positive online reputation) and wondering about my shirts. Three months after my deposit I still hadn't received my first shirt. I hope this review helps prospective customers and motivates CEGO to improve either their scheduling or their production capacity.

This place had a full assortment of home AND industrial feet. 60% of the home display was Bernina accessories; the other 40% was non-branded, but would probably work fine on any machine that accepts snap-on presser feet (worked on my Brother). Best of all, my foot cost $6.75 and would have been $13 on Amazon Prime. They have a small assortment of other sewing notions, but nothing worth buying compared to Daytona Trimming and Steinlauf & Stoller. But I will be coming back for machine accessories -- it's worth crossing 8th ave!

Allie was super responsive, supportive, and helped me navigate the different packages she had available on her website. I ended up selecting the "Building a Foundation" package and it was exactly what I needed. Allie listened to my clothing issues, had me create a style board on Pinterest to get an idea of what I liked or disliked, and hung out with me to review my closet and help create outfits, and shopped with me. She pushed me out of my comfort level, but took feedback and incorporated that into her recommendations if it was something I just knew I wouldn't want to wear. It was like hanging out with your best girlfriend, but she is super attentive, knows all the right shops and people, and gives direct feedback. When I showed up to collect it, not only was the job incomplete, there was an AWFUL smell coming from my lengha AND I FOUND STAINS ON MY BRAND NEW OUTFIT!! THEY asked me to come back the next day and that they would fix it. I returned on Sunday--and the work was still incomplete!!! I tried on my outfit and it was still not fitted and had a lot of issues. After pointing out all the issues AGAIN, I was then asked to give them 30 minutes more, when I went back (now for a 3rd time) - IT WAS STILL NOT DONE, I was very upset and just ended up taking my outfit as is because this is just beyond ridiculous at this point. During my 3 visits in 2 days, every time I tried to address these issues, the tailor became openly hostile, raising their voice at me and my friends. Their behavior was unacceptable. I had to demand that they lower their voice when speaking to me. I had to bargain to reduce the price since the work WAS NOT COMPLETED and the wife and husband CONTINUED TO BE AGGRESSIVE AND HOSTILE. They raised their voice and said that they would unstitch my outfit if I did not pay... The store owner of where I brought my lengha from even called and told him that this is unacceptable and he was charging me too much. The tailor started to raise his voice at him and the female manager of the other store. This business operates without a shred of professionalism, respect, or accountability. Their treatment of customers is beyond disgraceful. If you care about your clothing and want to be treated decently, avoid this place at all costs!!!!!! THEY ARE THE WORST!
