Why 5 stars? Homemade pasta, and friendly not rushed Italian experience. Can't believe I haven't reviewed Aqua Alta before but hey here we are. If you're looking for a real, friendly, not-rushed Italian experience, Acqua Alta delivers. Homemade pasta, authentic staff, and food that seriously tastes like it came straight out of a little kitchen in Italy. I had the daily dinner special -- beef stew with pasta -- and it was pure slow-cooked goodness. Super flavorful, melt-in-your-mouth kind of good. My wife had the shrimp pasta in a white wine reduction sauce, and she was already planning her next visit before she finished. They even made my son a bowl of fresh pasta with Bolognese sauce -- he crushed it faster than I've ever seen. Everyone working there was Italian, our waiter included, and it honestly felt like being back on a trip to Italy -- relaxed, welcoming, proud of their food. Only small thing: they're in a strip mall, sitting next to a Taco Bell and a closed-down bar, which isn't exactly picturesque. But if you close one eye and use your imagination (and maybe have a glass of wine), you can kinda pretend the Taco Bell looks like a 16th-century Italian palazzo. The food and experience easily make up for the location. These guys deserve a cute spot in downtown Safety Harbor someday -- but until then, it's absolutely worth finding a parking spot and digging in.

Out with friends for a good Italian dinner! I love this place... I had the Carbonara (lots of Pancetta!) and also sampled the Caccio de Pepe, and the Chicken Parm also. Everything was wonderful! Our server was awesome, as was the owner who served the Caccio de Pepe tableside! Great desserts too... my Tiramisu was delectable! Wine list if really nice... and the coffee they serve is wonderful! I highly recommend Acqua Alta for a good meal!

Let me tell you right now: Aqua Alta is not just a restaurant -- it's a full-blown love affair with flavor, a Venetian symphony performed on your tongue. The margarita pizza? My god. It's a masterpiece. The crust is so perfectly blistered and airy it could float away if it weren't holding down the molten gold of the cheese and the bright, tangy burst of tomato sauce. Each bite feels like a tiny standing ovation in your mouth -- a reminder that simplicity, when done right, is nothing short of divine. Then comes the focaccia, and let me be clear: this is no ordinary bread. It's a cloud kissed by olive oil and sea salt -- pillowy, warm, and so fragrant that you'll swear you can hear angels humming somewhere in the background. You'll promise yourself you'll only have one piece. You'll lie. The mushroom pasta is decadence reincarnate. Earthy, creamy, and rich in the kind of umami that makes you question whether you've ever truly tasted mushrooms before. The sauce clings lovingly to every noodle, and together they whisper sweet nothings about Italian countryside kitchens and secret family recipes. And then, dear reader, there is the burrata -- soft, luscious, and utterly scandalous. It's like a love letter written in cheese form: creamy on the inside, delicate on the outside, paired with fresh tomatoes and basil so perfect they could make a grown man weep. Aqua Alta doesn't serve dinner -- it serves moments. If you go, bring someone you love. Or go alone and fall in love with the food instead. Either way, you'll leave changed

Really good food. I had the ravioli and it was delicious and clearly homemade. The tiramisu with pistachio was unbelievably good. The service was also terrific.

I just realized that I have done a review on one of our favorite local restaurants. Aqua Alta is a GEM! Again tucked away in a little strip mall and very un-assuming. Tuesday's... they do table side pasta in a wheel. And they just really bring the focus on service. Pasta is made here.... Octopus to Filet nothing disappoints. Their pizza will make you smile!! If you have not yet been ... give this place a try. White table cloth, moderately priced, and if you buy your wine at Ed's (next door) it is only a $5 corkage fee Alessandro and Miss Ashley take the best care of serving you!!! Bon appetito We sat outside tonight as it is perfect weather!! Very intimate setting. They also have an incredible wine selection.

Had a wonderful meal with friends, We went on a Tuesday especially for the Caccio e,Pepe made at table side by the owner. It was amazing. The homemade pasta was cooked to perfection- perfectly al dente and so cheesy. Friends had Pasta Carbonara with plenty of pancetta and the best chicken parm I've ever tasted. The wine list is amazing and we shared a wonderful bottle of Cabernet Franc. Allesandro's service was excellent and the ambience of a small, cozy Italian restorante tops it all off. I love this place.

Pasta is homemade, fresh, and specialize in Venetian-style Italian cuisine. Tastes very authentic and delicious. This is our go to Italian spot here in Pinellas! We enjoy Chef Paolo's service each time he's amazing.

Lamb stew over homemade pasta. The wine is Refosco, which tastes similar to Cabernet Franc.

Authentic northern Italian food made from the highest quality ingredients plus an excellent (all-Italian) wine list is presented in a relaxed atmosphere. Very tradition dishes; everything is great. I really love the "UNTOUCHABLES" which are the classic family recipes that chef Paolo will not change under any circumstances. There's also a long list of original / creative pizzas that are all great; I have tried most of them and they never fail to impress me & my friends from Ed's Wine shop (just a few doors away). Homemade soups can be bought to-go because they're sold frozen and will last for months in the freezer. Very friendly and professional service too.

We came for the Happy Hour which I believe was 25% off wines and some food items. It was fun to SIP on many different wine choices and sit outside. Such a lovely time!

My friend doesn't actually drink alcohol but thankfully they have a small list of mocktails and nonalcoholic drinks, and I know nothing about wines except that I usually only like roses, which thankfully they had a flight of! Emerson, our server, did a great job explaining the different notes of the rose options, and helping us pick a fourth cheese option as we were building our board. Now on to the charcuterie, what we really came here for. Delicious! The only thing we left any bit of was the complimentary crasins and a bit of the horseradish cheddar. We inhaled the Brie, regular goat cheese, and mustard & ale cheddar, plus the prosciutto and salami. It also came with figs and Carr's crackers; again we only left some crasins and the bit of horseradish cheese, everything else was phenomenal. I would come back in a heartbeat just for the BYOCB situation. We also checked out some of the truffle options, but ended up opting to try those some other time. The interior is intimate and cozy with black marble inspired tables and velveteen emerald seating. They also have a bar that seats maybe a dozen people plus a few outdoor tables. It also looked like there was a small room for groups or events possibly. Don't quote me on that though. Street parking is available right outside and all around on the nearby side streets.

That's changed since moving to the Gulf Coast of Florida, where the fish at the local restaurant today was probably swimming yesterday. My "go-to" seafood now is a grouper sandwich which I order blackened but NOT fried. I've sampled grouper sandwiches from many local dining establishments, but my favorite is from "Carvor's Fish House" A couple of important notes: 1) Carvor's is only open for LUNCH. Their hours vary, so you'll want to check the website, but they typically close at FIVE PM, with the last order accepted at FOUR PM. 2) Carvor's has NO inside dining The patio is tree-shaded with extra umbrellas but if it's really hot, you may be uncomfortable. 3) Carvor's has COUNTER SERVICE.
