This week's Wandering Wednesday brought us to Palm Harbor, and then Larry's Grillhouse for lunch. The Grillhouse steak bites appetizer is highly recommended. I had the amazing O burger, and my wife had the Bourbon short ribs. Both were delicious choices, and the huge Keylime pie piece was artfully decorated. We met Larry who used to be an executive chef at a vacation center in Ruskin. My hunch is, he is actually a professional BBQ pitmaster, masquerading as a restaurant owner. The business is JUST starting, but I like the vibe that they have going currently, it wasn't busy..BUT it SHOULD have been! Service is GREAT from start to finish! Greeted, seated and served! You can't ask for anything more! I had the waitress, Rachel pick the appetizer. She suggested the Grill house steak bites (soooo delicious yum!) and even asked her " Can you ask the chef(owner) what is his favorite thing to cook"? I had the Bourbon Short Ribs and they were sooooo BOMB! They are slow-cooked in a smoker all day and the meat literally fell off the bone! The flavors are SOOO DELICIOUS!! Along with, grilled asparagus,red peppers and a side of mashed potatoes! My drinks were delicious! Blue Tarpon Hurricane and a Green tea shot! I love me a green tea, and it was very refreshing! Went home with a LITERAL fresh-made slice of their key lime pie! The pie is made with a meringue topping!! Literally OUT OF THIS WORLD!! Just Wow! First time ordering from Larry's Grill House in Tarpon Springs. For an appetizer, we split an order of fried green tomatoes & they were delicious! We also ordered the mini crab cakes and they were fabulous too. Next we had the bacon wrapped meatloaf with mashed potatoes and asparagus. It was excellent! For dessert - Michelle the hostess/ server, recommended this decadent chocolate cake with strawberries and whipped cream they were serving as a special dessert. Yum! We will definitely be back!!! I've been wanting to try Larry's Grill House since I've seen the positive reviews here on Yelp. My Fiancé and myself were looking for somewhere new and casual and This place came up and we decided to give it a try. Nice bar area and tables a very casual place. The server was very friendly and we had high hopes for a decent reasonably priced meal. Sadly I ordered the Fish and chips, it turns out the fish was hake and it was small little pieces and not a nice portioned fillet. I could have dealt with that but in all honesty the fish was absolutely horrible. It had such a bad smell that I didn't want to eat it. The server was very nice about it and didn't charge me for the meal. The chef should have known better! There's NO REASON to serve fish that isn't fresh to your customers. Larry's is a winner in our book!! Came here for Memorial Day and had burgers, grouper sandwich, ribs and the brisket. Everything was AMAZING! Burgers were juicy, tots crispy, ribs fell off the bone and the brisket was melt in your mouth! Michael was a fantastic attentive server and every staff member we came into contact with had smiles and acknowledged us. Lots of TVs to watch sports and plenty of space for larger parties. Holy smokes! I've heard all the hype around this place, and knew I needed to try for myself. First of all, the service was top notch. Our server was very friendly and helpful in recommending menu items. The drinks came out quickly and the service was very attentive throughout the meal. Next, the FOOD! Seriously though. It's so refreshing to eat somewhere that goes above and beyond when it comes to ingredients, presentation, and quality of their food. Everything tasted scratch made, and had its own unique qualities. The lobster grilled cheese was insane. It had a deep fried bread with a crunchy outer coating, stuffed with an herbaceous lobster salad and melted cheese. One of the most unique and delicious dishes I've ever seen. The Cajun Chicken Pasta was awesome as well. I could go on and on about the food, it was SO GOOD. Food & service were fantastic. Sat at the bar for lunch on a Thursday. Took the bartenders suggestion and ordered (off the menu) a fried buffalo (medium) chicken wrap. It was a huge wrap, only suggestion is to order sauce on the side as it needed more heat for my liking. The tater tots were the absolute best I have ever had & definitely homemade. Husband had boneless chicken wings with Boom Boom sauce (not listed as an option on the menu, but the bartender said no problem). We had a couple of cocktails as well & were too early for happy hour but they have great happy hour prices. The drink prices for non- happy hour were a little high otherwise they would have gotten 5 stars. read more

The food is absolutely wonderful out of this world. It was so good and so reasonably priced. Our waitress was delightful and the bartender even came over to see how we were doing, and she was just as kind. They really know their menu. They had wonderful things to say about the chef my companion he was a chef at one point they had a nice conversation and the place was clean and comfortable, kind of on the quiet side, but we were there for lunch so everything was perfect. The Food, the quality and the staff makes this a place to go. I found it by searching on vacation and it was worth it. If you get out of there without trying the Key Lime Pie, then you missed out. I had the fillet tips with loaded, mashed potato and fresh grilled vegetables, and everything was so delicious and tasteful and cooked perfectly. We were looking for a place near Tarpon Springs that was not strictly sea food. Larry's has quite a verried menu so we thought the couple we were meeting would be able to find something they liked. The restaurant is in a strip mall with plenty of parking. That can be an issue with restaurants down by the spunge docks. The menu not only has a good variety and the prices were very reasonable. We ordered the fried green tomatoes as an appetizer. They were very good! I ordered the Mahi fish tacos with onion rings for dinner and my wife ordered the Burbon short ribs and our guests both ordered the Brisket sandwich. Everything was very tasty! The fish tacos and onion rings were very good. I tried some of my wifes short ribs and vegetables. It was a large portion and we ended up taking over half home. I kept seeing good reviews for Larry's and checked out the menu. We went and had a very late lunch or a very early dinner. The reviews are correct, this restaurant has really good food. My husband was craving a burger and ordered it medium rare. Arrived perfect temperature. The onion rings have a good crunch. I ordered the bacon wrapped meatloaf. I try meatloaf at restaurants a lot. This version is in the top part of my favorite's list. Served with mashed potatoes, gravy and asparagus. Yum! The service from start to finish was good and so nice. I bought a piece of key lime pie to go. It was a huge piece for about $10.00. I was very disappointed. The key lime filling was large and thick, kind of a rough texture, not like the usual smooth filling. It had not much key lime flavor.. if I wore a mask I would not guess key lime. The meringue topper was high and done well. The graham cracker crust was uneven.. I didn't finish it... it was OK but not anything special. Nice try...Save your $10 and spend $12 at H'ours in tarpon for the best key lime pie I ever consumed. read more

I read about this place online on a Tarpon Springs page. We ate there Friday evening and were greeted and seated right away. We ordered cocktails and an appetizer. The rum runner was good but the house margarita made my eyes water- so much sweet and sour. Then our fire roasted shrimp appetizer arrived and we were blown away. Yumminess surrounds you. Grills with lots of garlic and butter and spices and accompanied with Texas toast. Then we ordered the fish platter and the blackened grouper sandwich. We both left with Togo boxes. Saturday night- not busy! Hostess friendly. Seated right away. Server came right over and got our drink order. Spicy margarita was excellent! We ordered loaded tots for an app- very good however the tots seemed only warm. I ordered a buffalo chicken salad and it was great except the boneless chicken was not very hot- just luke warm. I thought maybe because it was on a cold salad they let it sit a bit. My husband got a burger with onion rings- burger cooked correctly and the onion rings were good - I tasted one- but I said they aren't very hot. He then said yeah, neither were the tots and my burger isn't super hot even though cooked properly. Not sure what the issue was with everything being warm instead. Server was a bit slow to come after the meal but when he did we ordered desserts. Key Lime was excellent. Spouse got pineapple upside down cheesecake which also was good. Server said all desserts were made on premises. We were in the area for the weekend but if we go back there we would try again. Clean and all were friendly. read more

I was hungry after Church and found Larry's Grill House on YELP. I read some of the reviews and I thought I'd try it. I am so glad I did. I ended up getting the Swiss& Mushroom burger and it was fantastic. It was lot of beef and not so much bread. Usually when they say it comes on Brioche bun, you are looking for the meat. This was the best and juiciest burger I've had in a very long time. I like medium rare and it was perfect. They had music and it was not loud and over powering. Most establishments like this one has music so loud you can't visit with anyone. Great food, attentive staff, calm atmosphere, and great selection of draft beers Oh! The fries that came with my burger were large and seasoned with great seasoning. I always travel to Amsterdam for work and they specialize in fries. Well these were so good Now I don't have to wait to get fries in Amsterdam. They have a very large menu. Try it! You'll love it! read more

We have been here a couple times, once with a large group and once just as a couple. We can recommend the shrimp platter, fish and chips, the chicken quesadilla and the onion rings, but in our large group everyone liked their meal. The coleslaw is creamy and not too sweet, but doesn't have the traditional celery seed. The kitchen delivered orders quickly, for the most part. One caveat -- they do not offer hot tea. read more
