We enjoyed our brunch at Mujer Divina Brunch Café located on 3rd Avenue in Chula Vista, CA. The restaurant is small with indoor and outdoor seating. Our wait time on a Saturday for 3 adults and two kids was 50 minutes. Mujer Divina has 3 locations next door to each other Mujer Divina Burrito & Coffee House, Divina Matcha and Mujer Divina Brunch Café. While we waited to be seated, we ordered a delicious Café de olla horchata iced latte. The wait time for our coffee also took about 25 minutes. Mujer Divina is always busy when we drive through downtown Chula Vista so if a place is that busy, it must be good right? Why we decided to wait and give it a try. We ordered the following dishes and recommend: -Chilaquiles in Chile Poblano cream sauce. It comes with eggs and fried beans. -Huevos Rancheros comes with fried beans and eggs over easy. -Mujer Divina Plate comes with machaca burrito, beans and chilaquiles in Chile Poblano cream. -Blueberry Pancakes with House blueberry compote, fresh blueberries and whipped cream cheese. -Mujer Divina Alkaline water bottle You can order the ice lattes from their other two coffee shop locations. To help with the wait time, I wished they would combine their Divina Matcha and Mujer Divina Brunch Cafés together to expand their restaurant and just add Matcha drinks on their menu. The service was excellent and the restaurant was nice and clean. The wait time was worth it because everything we ordered was delicious!! Give this place a try when in the area! Worst customer service! Previous visits had been ok. But this time i got rushed out of the venue. i understand a big party was waiting. But i did pay for a service and didnt even get the time to finish my coffee when all of a sudden i was "offered" to sit in the corner table. This was my first time coming here even though I'm local to the area and have heard a lot about this place. Both my boyfriend and I are extremely patient and understanding people so to say the service was bad is saying a lot. First we waited an hour to be seated which was no problem, but right when we got the text we walked over from our car which was like maybe 1-2 min max, and when we got there they told us they seated someone else so that they had to get another table ready. We get seated and absolutely no one came by to take our order or check in on us for around 20 min, which seemed to be the case for others that were seated before us. When we were finally attended we asked for water and they told us they don't have water, only bottled water for $3? which is kind of crazy idk that had never happened to me at a restaurant before. We then ordered and the food was good! But I ordered one of the pancakes and asked for syrup and the server told us she could not give us syrup. I asked if they just didn't have any for the pancakes or if we could purchase some and she said they did have some but not for the pancakes I ordered bc they're already sweet? I was so confused since it was just a simple request and I know certain high end restaurants don't allow menu changes but it was a simple and normal condiment for the pancakes? The pancakes were dry and it was just not an enjoyable experience. Okay okay this place needs to be praised!!! I am a huge skeptic when It comes to chilaquiles. This place was all that those poblano chilaqueles were so full of flavor. Each crunchy bite loaded with sour cream,onions and cilantro. The machaca burrito was also just as good. I enjoyed every bite today breakfast was a huge hit. We originally came here to try the pancakes and got to try so much goodness. The pancakes were perfection. Oh and an honorable mention for that powder sugar on the bacon. I have eaten here a few times already and the food never disappoints me. The mole chilaquiles is what brings me back time and time again. The flavor notes of the mole is rich, nutty, & deep giving it an authentic taste of Mexican cuisine. Their hummingbird pancakes are delicious and fluffy as well as their carrot cake pancakes. Came here for a bday brunch with the fam (it was 10 of us) and we waited about an hour. So make sure to be prepared for a wait as it is a smaller restaurant. But it was worth it! We all ordered the chilaquiles plate and shared the fluffy French toast. The food was 10/10. It's one of my top favorite chilaquiles in San Diego! I recently visited Mujer Divina with my sisters. I have been here a few times in the past and, to be honest, some of my previous visits were not the best experiences. At one point the team reached out and invited me to come back, and when I did, everything was wonderful. Unfortunately, this recent visit reminded me why I don't come here often. There is a lot of competition in the area, so it was disappointing to see the restaurant refuse a complimentary glass of tap water to paying customers--especially customers who spent over $50 on food and drinks. Instead, we were told we had to purchase bottled water, which was over $3 per bottle. Even for guests spending much less, offering tap water when requested is a simple gesture of hospitality. While I understand that California law does not require establishments that do not serve alcohol to provide free water, it is still something many businesses choose to do as a basic courtesy. As someone who previously owned a business, I would never deny water to a customer. Charging over $3 for water after customers have already spent a significant amount on food and drinks felt unnecessary and left a poor impression. Additionally, during our visit I saw at least 20 potential customers walk in and leave because employees were telling them the food would take 30-40 minutes. While it's understandable to inform guests about longer wait times, the way it was communicated seemed discouraging rather than welcoming. We decided to stay and enjoyed our Mazapán coffees and burritos, which were good. However, the overall experience--including being charged over $3 for water--makes it unlikely that I will return. read more

Super cute place on third ave, I ended up coming on a week day and it was empty. But the food did not disappoint! The staff was really nice and I regret not getting her name to give a shout out. Drinks - I got the matcha, classic, if you are snobby about your matcha, they have a matcha place attached next door! Food: we got an omelette, banana foster French toast and a ham sandwich. Came to brunch on a Monday and their tables were busy but the wait wasn't bad. It's a small restaurant and they have a couple tables outside. We paid a total of $76 or so with tip included. Place is really busy but quick on food! We came in around 10 am and there were only 2 seats left and maybe 10 mins after there was a ton of people waiting. I noticed they helped the family that came after us before we took our order so that's why I deducted 1 star. Our server also kept forgetting to bring water that was ordered. I ordered the Mujer Divina plate without beans since I don't like beans. My friend ordered a French toast which he devoured pretty quick. It's safe to say he really enjoyed it as he cleaned his plate. My meal was good. I really enjoyed the machaca burrito. It was my first time eating a machaca burrito and it did not disappoint. I need to try another place to see if that's what is supposed to to taste like or a comparison. However as far as the chilaquiles tasted, I wish it was a little more crispier. Gosh, the food at the restaurant is delicious, with healthy portions and the perfect price point. Joana, our service, was very kind and accommodating. She made our visit very enjoyable. She politely shared that the cafe does not make adjustments to the menu items but there's lots to choose from. Since I don't each meat, she suggested the burnt butter pancakes with maple syrup and Lox toast. Damn.... those dishes were sinfully delicious. Keeping this short and to the point, the food was good but not $65 for two ppl kind of good but what was really disappointing was the service...we had issues with our table being lopsided so we had been trying to take care of it by using the napkins that were on the table but it wasn't working. I asked the server if she could give us more napkins to try and fix the problem, she seemed to be annoyed I was even asking. Every single time she came back to the table she had a smug look on her face and looked like it was more of a bother to serve us, I don't know if that's because I wasn't speaking in Spanish to her, she was speaking in Spanish to me and I would answer back in English, but that's because that's what I'm most comfortable with. She wasn't this way with everybody else that was around us when she was talking to them, but they were answering her back in Spanish. I also found it very disappointing that when they serve you your coffee on the café side, they bring it to you still in a plastic to go cup as if you were on the coffee shop side. Also, you cannot get a glass of water in a regular glass, you have to pay for a bottle of water at the café. The Chilaquiles themselves were very good, the brown buttered pancakes were good but not unique. My expectation of this was that it was going to be more of a café, but I felt it was just an extension of the coffee shop. Very disappointing experience. It took almost 1 hour just to get seated, even though there were only 4 people ahead of us and our party was just 2 people. Once seated, things didn't improve. It took 20 minutes just to place our order, and then another 28 minutes for the food to arrive. Overall, the service was extremely slow and poorly managed. We ordered the lox and toast, the Mujer Divina plate (which comes with a machaca burrito and chilaquiles), and the enmoladas, everything was so tasty and our food came out quick. I was very excited for the chilaquiles and pancakes but I was a bit disappointed, mostly on the service. I wouldn't be this harsh if the price point wasn't deserving of a better service. First the good: the chilaquiles were ok (competition in this area is big) and the cafe the la olla was good ( but they don't do refills on coffee, not even regular coffee, I understand no refills on lattes or specialty coffees, but regular is a standard to do refills in breakfast places) Now the areas for improvement: 1. It appears they sit every one that had kids or babies outside even when there we spots inside ( I know cuz we waited over an hour for our food once we were sitted,plus while we ate, so we had plenty of time seeing people come and go. 2. Fluffy pancakes are big but they should be cooked more (see image) 3. There was an unidentified object in my moms beans (see image). 4. They don't offer water cups, you can only purchase their $3.25 small water bottle. 5. We waited over an hour and they brought the wrong food and had to get it fixed. 6. We were seated in the sun where a same size table was available inside but they told us was for a lady whose name they deleted cuz she wasn't there when they called her name, and at the end they seated someone else (not the lady cuz she didn't show). The pancakes are cute but the restaurant is better suited for small parties, maybe 2 or 3 but definitely not more. So for a coffee date should be ok. read more

Mujer Divina Brunch & Cafe has recently open her doors in Chula Vista, Ca. It is located two doors down from Mujer Divina Burritos & Coffee House. This new location focusing on Mexican specialties and memories of European travels. This time around I went for a Mexican specialty with rajas. I love rajas con cream so I order their rendition: The flour quesadillas with homemade hand pressed flour tortillas, rajas poblanas with cream, artisan Oaxaca cheese, and topped with queso fresco. You get a set of three for $15. The rajas were no doubt the standout here. The poblano pepper strips were tender but still had a good bite and packed with good flavor. I liked that they came with roasted corn kernels. The cream the rajas were mixed in with was outstanding. The tacos came with two great Mexican cheese. The griddles Oaxaca cheese underneath was terrific. The artisan hand pressed flour tortillas underneath were great. You have to understand, these flour tortillas are made to order, so expect a little extra time for preparation but the wait it s worth it. The were soft yet thicker the most, which is understandable given the amount of rajas and cream they need to hold up too. They reminded me of the flour tortillas my aunt would make from Sinaloa, Mexico. The service was good. The ladies who work here are very nice. They offer a variety of specialty coffees and cafe de la olla. The place has a nice rustic appeal. They offer inside and outside seating. read more

During our visit, we ordered coffee from the coffee shop ($27 for three drinks) and matcha from the neighboring spot ($19 for two drinks). We chose to sit at the adjacent brunch location because we wanted to enjoy the sunny outdoor seating. When we sat down, a staff member from the brunch spot informed us that we were not allowed to sit there. We politely asked if it would be possible, given that we had purchased drinks from two of the three connected businesses, but were told no. While I understand that businesses may have seating policies, it was surprising as both outdoor tables were empty and there was no line or visible demand for the seating at the time. From a customer perspective, it felt discouraging not to be able to enjoy seating at an establishment connected to where we had just made purchases. That said, the coffee was good and the matcha was also enjoyable. However, the overall experience left us feeling unwelcome. Customer experience plays a significant role in whether people return, and this interaction ultimately impacted our decision not to come back. Additionally, when ordering the matcha, we were directed next door to complete payment, which further suggested that the three businesses operate as a collective. This made the seating restriction even more confusing. If you're a first time visitor (like me), searching these businesses on Google can get a little confusing. The owner should update the Google listings so customers can tell the locations apart more easily. So let me clarify and bear with me because this review is going to be a little long. Since all three businesses go hand in hand and are very similar, I'm putting everything in one post. There are three Mujer Divina locations right next to each other, all owned by the same owner, and each one specializes in something different. When you're facing the buildings from left to right, you'll see: 1. Mujer Divina Burrito & Coffee - For my coffee lovers, this is where you want to grab your lattes and espressos. They also sell burritos and pastries. 2. Mujer Divina Matcha - I didn't try it this time, but this one specializes in matcha drinks. 3. Mujer Divina Brunch - Known for breakfast food, but they also serve coffee drinks. Mujer Divina Burrito & Coffee Review: I ordered the Canela Iced Latte and my friend got the Iced Coconut White Mocha Latte. My latte had slightly bitter espresso shots, but overall I still liked it. My friend enjoyed his too, but said he'd probably ask for less sweetness next time. There isn't much seating here. Maybe space for about 8-10 people max, so it's more of a quick pickup and go coffee shop rather than a sit down spot. For grabbing a good drink and food item on the go, this place is perfect. They also take online orders. Mujer Divina Brunch Review: When we first arrived, we checked in at Mujer Divina Brunch using the iPad at the entrance. They told us the wait would be a bit long, which was fine with us. That's when we walked over and got our lattes two doors down. After about 45 minutes, we were seated. Our server Yohana was really sweet the entire time. She checked on us when the food came out and also explained the differences between the three Mujer Divina locations, which helped a lot. I asked her about portion sizes, and she mentioned that the plates are big enough for two people to share. She was right, we ordered the Chilaquiles to share (especially since we were already getting full from our iced lattes) and still had leftovers! The chilaquiles were delicious. I'm honestly very impressed with how these three businesses are set up. The owner did a great job making each location unique while still tying everything back to the main "Mujer Divina" theme. Each shop is beautifully decorated and perfect for taking cute photos. This is a small and local business that I'm happy to support. You can tell the owner put a lot of heart and thought into the aesthetics, the branding, and the menu items. I've now saved all three locations and plan on trying Mujer Divina Matcha next time. read more

I really wanted to like this place.. but started bad. Their iPad (yelp waitlist) wasn't working & staff didn't tell us anything... after waiting 70 min to be seated, people complained. That's when they told us about the iPad not working.. the entire time they had a physical list (didn't warn anyone). They charge for water (served in bottle) .. They were short staff.. they weren't friendly.. didn't check in on us the entire time we were eating. Fernanda is incredible! Very kind, attentive, and provided us with a great experience on a Sunday morning. She recommended the chilaquiles and they were a 10/10. She explained the concept of the restaurant as being separate from the menu next door after we asked about Birria being added to our order. I would have preferred protein on the chilaquiles, but they were delicious on their own. The eggs were perfect and I loved the beans. 10/10 The green juice was so good! I will not be going back here. A friend and I go to a different coffee shop or lunch spot each week and decided to check this place out. As soon as we walked in the door a server came up to us and asked if we wanted breakfast or brunch I said yes we want to eat. She's like do you want coffee and burritos that's next door. I'm now getting annoyed that she is not seating my friend and I as I have told her several times we came there to eat. Finally she seats us and I ask for a glass of water. She brings me over a bottled water and starts pouring it before I can say anything so now I have a water that's $3.50 that I did not order. That is absolutely ridiculous that you don't provide your patrons with free water. As for the food my friend liked her carrot pancakes. I ordered the Nutella French toast after seeing the menu on their Instagram page. Well apparently the Nutella French toast also comes with bananas some kind of berry jam and strawberries on it. It does not say that on the menu and the flavors were too much. They need to put what is listed on the menu. I do not want all those flavors together. Also my friend asked for some syrup for her pancakes to which they tell her it's made in house and it's in between the two pancakes and they refuse to give her more. My friend and I were enjoying sitting and catching up while eating our breakfast. Then someone who appeared to maybe be a manager or owner came over and asked us if everything was okay but it didn't seem genuine it seemed like he was rushing us to get out of there. We then get a box to get my friends food to go. I asked for the bill to be split between my friend and I based on what we ordered. The server then tells me the total and it's the whole bill and I again say no I asked for it to be split please and tell her what I got. She proceeds to then just split it down the middle and still doesn't do it based on what we got even though with those toast handheld Bill things it's so easy to do. Whatever we pay the bill and leave. We will not be back it is not inviting. There is parking along the Main Street and it is meter parking. My friend and I parked two blocks away and residential and that is free. The ambience was nothing to write home about. There was some music and minimal decor. I've been to this place twice!! Once because I was excited to take my mother to try their burritos. My first experience I left upset because the service was extremely bad! The attitude was condescending and almost as if they were doing ME a favor by taking our order. I thought oh maybe the girl is having a bad day so I let it go. Today after months I tried it once more to my surprise they had the same exact attitude. We visited on a weekend, so we came prepared for a crowd. We added our names to the Yelp waitlist at the entrance and settled in. The staff seemed a bit scattered, and table turnover was slow -- there were guests who had clearly finished eating and were just lingering, which didn't help. Not ideal when there's a line out the door. Once we were seated, though, all of that faded. The food is genuinely excellent. The pancakes were thick and well made, the eggs cooked exactly right, and we left completely satisfied. Good breakfast done right is hard to find, and this place delivers. The wait and front-of-house flow could use some tightening up, but the kitchen more than makes up for it.
