This is our go to Italian restaurant. We have enjoyed Acropolis since they were over on Sweeten Creek Rd. Until last Friday night when we ordered carry out. Upon arrival to pick up order we found that the two pizzas we ordered were wrong. After being made twice the order we took home was still wrong. If that wasn't enough the young gentlemen who continuously took the order wrong got attitude and acted like it was our fault. Maybe if he put his cell phone down long enough he maybe could have gotten it right the first time. Food is expensive and I don't like being made feel like I'm the one in the wrong when it's been repeated three times! The food was not near as good as it used to be. Remember we chose to patronize your restaurant and pay you for pricey mediocre food. Won't be back for a long time. Beware of people who are more interested in playing on there phone then doing their job. read more

Tonight was the worst experience I have ever had at this restaurant. We drove all the way from Hendersonville to eat at the Arden location. We went over to the ice bar due the no dine in at this location. We got to the restaurant 15 minutes before the kitchen closes to only pizza and appetizers (that we were not told about until after the fact). She told us she would be right with us as she went to the back and no one in the bar.we waited and waited then finally she comes back to the table to hand us our silverware. She then tell us as we are ordering (at 8:56) the kitchen is closed and they are only doing pizza and appetizers. After a few minutes of talking to her and telling her how far we drove. She said she can see if she could go back to see if they could still cook us something.she then proceeded to bring out her manager to deliver the news again they will not do any cooking. Mind you all this was done before 9! I loved going to eat at this restaurant but due to the way the staff handled this issue. Also the waiting we had to do so they did not have to cook us any food.we will not be back. We were ignored so they did not have to cook anything and to me that is unacceptable. Very good New York style pizza. Got pepperoni and banana peppers toppings. The ratio of all toppings was just right, crust done perfect, and it was ready when promised. Friendly service. Appreciate that he showed us the pizza before we took it home. Highly recommend! read more

I wish I knew if the food was as good as other reviews say. Their website says they deliver to local area, including airport hotels, from 4pm-closing every day (closing is 9:30pm). Their flyer in my hotel room said the same. I called, and NOPE! Not enough staff to run a delivery, apparently, so I was out of luck. Don't plaster it all over your website as a selling point if you don't consistently offer a service. read more

You want Greek or Italian? This is the place for both! They have a large menu of salads, pizzas, subs, gyros, and more! The gyro is out of this world good! Tender juicy lamb, soft warm pita, and delicious creamy sauce! Stromboli is great too - huge! And they have Snickers gelato! Yum! Totally recommend this place! Great service too. I have been going here for the past 4 years every time I am in town. Well this time I noticed that it has changed. I got a salad and normally it is fresh crisp lettuce well this time it was brown wilted lettuce and just looked horrible. We got the bruschetta and it was soo oily that that's all you could taste. Gluten free pizza was amazing. So hard to find gluten free pizza my 7 year old will eat. I give it 5 stars for doing gluten free so well. We sat doen and ate this time, I had the Gyro, is was great, little greasy but a hearty portion. The gluten free pasta was really good as well. read more

we've been buying pizza from angelo's for a few years. every pie has been excellent. we've had good pizza at other places in asheville, but we keep going back to angelo's because we've found a better pizza (though people watching at mellow mushroom is a nice experience....just not as tasty). i am a little surprised by the negative comments about the management/owner. the people that we've encountered at angelo's have been exceedingly kind. oh, one last thing. this pizza is incredible when it cools and the next day. read more

I tried to order pizza with 3 separate phone calls on a Saturday night, 8/24 around 8:30. I was put on hold all 3 times without anyone saying anything other than "please hold" when they answered and then promptly put me on hold. Finally called back a 4th time and someone asked me if I could hold. I told them know that I was on hold multiple times prior for at least five minutes each time and they told me they were doing the best they could do they were busy and put me on hold again. I've ordered pizza here didn't have had this experience. They really need to get some help on peak hours or they are going to lose business. We called Angelos pizza in Arden and they picked up on the first call of the pizza was great. read more

The BEST pizza I have eaten. Great quality toppings.. Thin homemade crust. More like a tomato pie with toppings than a typical pizza. It is definitely one place I visit when I come to Asheville. Their online app makes it so easy to look at the menu and order pick up! read more

Food is fairly priced and is decent to eat. Not earth shattering by any means but good enough to be worth the money. The wait staff, particularly the women that work the front register are horribly rude. To the point that they seem put off if they are required to interact with a customer. Been like this for years. I have to say I'm extremely disappointed. Visited this restaurant before but for lunch this time it was awful. We had a steak sub all the way and I thought they forgot the cheese the manager came over and said no look on the bottom so we had to hunt for the cheese which there look like there might be some melted cheese on the bottom on the bread and he said that is typical if you want more cheese you need to order extra cheese. On top of that we upgraded to a small Greek salad so our sandwich went from being 1049 to 1499 and it was unedible. Will not be back. Waitress was wonderful but food was horrible read more

We've been loyal clients for years. Each time visiting the area, we either dine in or use their delivery service to Arden/Fletcher hotels. My favorite has always been their spaghetti with meat sauce. The portions are HUGE. I order the Child Portion and can barely finish that. Love this place. Not to be missed. read more

My family and I tried this place for the first time this evening. "Seth" our waiter overcharged us on an item by double **$7.99. We brought it to his attention he said "I'm sorry that was my fault" and handed us the bill. He at that point never offered to fix it. We finally went to the front and ask to speak to a manager. We waited 20 plus minutes on a manager named "Jacob". We had 3 different people that continued to go back to get him and apologizing for the wait each time. The gentleman handling the front "Josh" said if "Jacob" isn't out by the time I get back with this order I will write down the names of our other two managers as I had offered to call back instead of waiting on "Jacob". After "Josh's" last trip back from the back he came back and very reluctantly said " How can I help you?". With a confused look I said I'm still waiting on "Jacob". He said very hesitantly I am the one that is going to help you because Jacob is too busy to come out and he has other people to deal with besides you. (This establishment wasn't full by any means) After a few Customer Service acknowledgments we're exchanged, I explained to him that my concern had been just informative until now. At that point I ask for the other two managers or the owners name and he would not give it to me. I have never witnessed such incompetence and immaturity in a place of business. I imagine that the manager on duty "Jacob" has zero management skills and threw this employee "Josh" into a terrible situation due his incompetence. "Jacob" fell through on the responsibility as a manager of handling his customer and put that responsibility on his coworker. I left without resolve! I also sadly left with full intent of never returning. There is a lot involved in running a food business and after tonight I do not trust this manager to handle my food or my bill. Kudos to "Josh" (the register guy) for trying to handle the bosses responsibility! A terrible experience that could have been so avoided!!
