My homeowners association recently switched from ADT to ACS, & I elected to also switch the monitoring service for my home security system. George came to our home the same day we called to make the changeover. He was extremely courteous and professional, and provided us with 2 new wireless devices linked to our security system, a heat detector for our kitchen and a smoke detector for our upstairs bedrooms. He arranged for an installer to come out to make the hardware monitoring changes. The installer was on time and did the work flawlessly, including final testing of all the devices connected to the system. I live in a neighborhood that is patrolled by ACS 24/7/365. Over the last numerous years of living here, I have called them a few times for different minor things. Always, I was left unimpressed. The other night it struck close to home, literally. At about midnight, I was woken up by a loud breaking sound and my dogs barking. I called ASC after believing someone was trying to break into my house. The security officers showed up within 3 minutes and came to the door. We explained what we heard. They went to the side of the house to check it out. Came back 30 seconds later and said they didn't find anything but would patrol the street more. The following morning I went outside to see for myself, and wow was I surprised. I found a gate broken open and a window screen torn off with a window partially open. It is unbelievable that these "trained professionals" missed all of this. Not to mention that the two officers who responded showed up looking VERY unprofessional. Uniform shirts unbuttoned and nothing on their Sam Browne belts other then a firearm. No handcuffs or flashlights or anything. I am going to be recommending a different security/patrol company to my HOA at our next meeting. read more

I've used many security companies over the years but have never been as satisfied as I am with ACS. Their responsiveness is immediate and reliable when my alarm goes off. I recently had a scare when someone rang my doorbell late at night and ACS was there within minutes of my call to them. It's been nearly 3 years now and the service has been great. ACS has been the dedicated patrol for our area with 1,250 homes for over 6 years and we are very pleased with them. Before we engaged them we had on the average one burglary a week, now we have practically none. ACS patrol is most definitely a deterrent to criminals. Response time is between 5-10 minutes since our area is quite large in this hillside community. . We are a voluntary HOA and signup is optional. Since the "patrol" is financed by the members who have a contract, we helped them in their marketing efforts. They will cruise the streets between emergency calls from subscribers. The presence of the car is in direct relationship to the number of subscribers who pay for the car in that area. With fewer subscribers, the coverage area is larger, thus less visibility of the car. Since we did not have enough subscribers (only about 30% signed up) to fund a full 24/7 car exclusively for our area, we encouraged neighboring HOAs to contract with ACS as well, and that has worked well for all of us. I know of no other security company that will patrol an area continually in addition to responding to alarm calls for voluntary HOAs, Those who do are exclusively hired by a mandatory HOA and are guaranteed the full cost of the patrol car and driver. read more

I would give 5 stars but, the people answering the phone are inconsistent and have been for some time. Other than that the service has been stellar. We have been ACS subscribers for many years. We originally started with ADT patrol, which is a giant company that has no personalized service and generic call centers whenever we tried to call for issues. ACS is local to the Westside and they answer their phones, respond to inquiries fast and are super professional. It is a well run operation that deserves the trust of its client base. They are used to the high touch clients of the Westside and are really service-oriented. We also hire ACS for neighborhood events, such as patrol of our baseball Little League. ACS officers are punctual, friendly and do their security job perfectly. Every since we hired ACS for the Little League, the security issues have gone away and it has become a safe place for our kids to enjoy sports! read more

Its very easy to complain. I've done it many times. Makes you feel a lot better about a bad situation. Its a lot more rare to see a glowing revue. Now I've done both with ACS. We've been customers for a very long time. And in the past we've had our problems. And I've let them know. I've threatened to leave them and for some reason I never did. And today I'm really glad. Mike, a senior tech just left here and I had to call the company and compliment them. This company has come a very long way. Mike is the most professional, knowledgeable and accommodating person I have ever had service anything. He tackled every roadblock that was thrown at him in a positive way and wouldn't quit until he had it solved. He finished the job and wouldn't leave until he tested it out more than once and then he made sure the app was properly installed on our phones. Its obvious to me, especially after I spoke with them, that they have made a concerted effort to improve their service and I can attest to the fact that it has worked. I have used ACS Security for over 16 years, and I couldn't be happier. The alarm panel and sensors have worked perfectly for the entire time I have used them, and alarm panel is easy to use. In our neighborhood, we do have the patrol cars, which will check for suspicious activity and are always friendly and professional. When the alarm does go off, they will dispatch a car and will also call in the next minute to check if it was a false alarm. Very happy with how they checked out my house, when i did not latch a window, and somehow it set of the alarm. They called me (I was just down the street), and when i got there the security guy went in with me (I'm 6-4), and checked out the house. He even asked me for the pass code. Security leads to peace of mind, which is important for all of us. Now it comes down to which one to pick when every company claims to be the best in providing the security and services. I have the experience of having ADT in my home in Nothern Californa while my daughter in the south happens to have ACS Security. I comfortably could make a comparison as I ended up doing some analysis. In the end, it turns out I had to talk with the customer service and ended up having long conversations with Chris (accounting). He is highly knowledgeable and a true gentleman and did not get fed up with all my inquiries as he explains me in depth how the ACS Security organization work and we decided to continue our security system with ACS. My experience with ACS has been very negative. We signed up about three months ago and was quoted a price by their salesman, who was very friendly, etc. During the installation process (about 2/3 of the way through), they told me that I needed a new Master Panel (as they one I had was inadequate) at a cost of about $500 extra. The salesman had failed to tell me this BEFORE I signed their documents committing to a long term contract. Then, three months into the service, the alarm fails and they want to charge me $120 just to come and see what the issue is. After much discussion with their manager, they told me that they would come out Saturday, December 10, between 11-1, only to NOT show up at all. After I contacted their manager at 1 PM, they told me that someone would show up before 3:30 PM. Of course, no one did - nor did they call me to let me know. Totally rude and inconsiderate. Worst service. Dishonest company. I would definitely STAY AWAY from this company. I am in the process of looking for another alternative, and will do my best to inform ALL my neighbors about ACS and what a total rip off service it is. Good luck. read more

We switched to ACS security a few years ago, and thankfully have never required an armed response from them yet. However, on a few occasions we've needed visits from their technicians to tweak our antiquated security system. Their support staff and techies have been consistently excellent. This week we finally decided to do a total upgrade of our 20+ year old system. We couldn't be happier with their work and professionalism. Senior account manager Hank Koster did a thorough initial inspection and devised the perfect system for our needs. No upsale, extremely knowledgeable in the field and a delightful person to work and converse with. He arrived two mornings later with the excellent and personable technician Gellert, and our system was completely upgraded and replaced where needed by late afternoon. When the following night we experienced a slight glitch due to old wiring in one station, Gellert was there promptly the next morning to rectify the situation. All in all, the experience and service was a pleasure, very rare in this day and age, and we're completely satisfied. read more

Instead of servicing, all service rep wants is to up sell new system, or charge high markup on replacement component before even knowing component needs replacement, (1000% markup), plus 4 hours labor with no basis that service would consume that much time. Monthly rate is at high end. One would expect more reasonable service for that rate. Not. Go elsewhere. Many more alternatives available in today's wireless marketplace. read more

No no! Don't do it! Don't go with them! I was given all sorts of promises of how fast their security units would come when I had a problem. (Six minutes! We can be there in six minutes! We timed our units!) Whenever I needed their help, it took at least three phone calls, and their response time was never less than 40 minutes. Their staff is unresponsive to complaints. Called to alert them to a suspicious person parked across from my house. Called back 15 minutes later to find out the status. Josh answered at ACS and told me that the patrol person had come and the car was now gone. This was not true. I told Josh that the car was still there and the person. He responded by asking me if I feared for my safety. I proceeded to tell him that I did not fear for my safety currently but the person and car were suspicious. He then barks in to the phone that they can not respond to a simple suspicious person and car and hung up. We have not had good service in the past and many incidences of poor security and errors. We haven't changed companies because ACS was just convenient in our neighborhood. But now, we are ready to change. If you are thinking of starting with a security company, I highly discourage you from signing with ACS. Mostly sub-quality and often terrible. read more

Everything negative on these reviews yeah well they are true as we have just experienced this nightmare. Having purchased a new home, we called on them as they seemed to be present in the neighborhood. They were to provide us with monitoring and patrol and upgrade our camera system. They quoted 4k dollars for 399 dollar cameras you can buy on Amazon. Two months later still no cameras but yet they decided to charge credit card for more than the quoted monthly rate. I have informed my credit card to deny charges, charges which were not authorized. They have horrible customers service, no one can ever call back. WE even sent an email to the president expressing our concerns. No word from him either. I have never experienced anything like this. I would also like to point out how they give you a 3 day window to cancel and then no where in the contract does it indicate how you can sever the relationship, "like because I signed this piece of paper that I have to always use your service" sorry I can choose and will choose not to do business with this company PERIOD! HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE. As much as the salesman tried to convince us, not gonna happen. read more

The most incredibly unconscionable unprofessional security company I've ever experienced. My house alarm went off the other day. I did NOT receive a phone call to advise me. My neighbor called to inform me my alarm was going off. I flew home from my daughter's home 1 mile away. My neighbor told the security guys to wait for me since it would take me less than 5 mins to get home. Not only did they not wait, but I had to walk into my home ALONE to a screeching alarm unaccompanied. I checked my home phone only to find out ACS never left a message. In addition, they never called my cell or my daughter who is my first contact to advise. I STRONGLY urge anyone who has ACS beware of Their incompetence and lack of service/ coverage in the Sherman Oaks area. read more

Just had new system installed and within a month there was an issue that needed to be fixed. The ACS team had it fixed within a day and Raymond in the call center was great as he helped me diagnose it and get a temporary fix until the tech came to fix it. Raymond was super patient and let me vent my frustrations; and then worked with me to figure out a solution. George in the main office also took the time to discuss with me and clearly showed that they care about their customers and want to make things. Obviously you want things to be perfect, but that's rare. Given the circumstances the support was really good and I am appreciate for everyone who was patient and helpful; especially Raymond and then George. read more

As you can tell from other reviews about this company I am going to write the same kind of review right now we had a suspicious person that my mom was worried about scoping out our house and we spoke to the neighbors and they have the same service and let us know that two days ago their car was broken into in their front driveway in the middle of the day we call this service we pay for to come do a drive by to check out this Tweaker looking person. it took over two hours and no drive by yet so we drive around the neighborhood and find this guy that patrols the area off of anatomy street in the Encino area just by chance sitting at the local coffee shop talking to another shady character I have a question I'm paying for a service that supposed to make my house feel secure I just don't understand why this guy is sitting at a coffee shop in that patrolling the neighborhood with this person freaking out right in front of my house I pay for a security service why do I need to feel uncomfortable about somebody hanging out in the front of my house with my mom there all alone looking at other reviews from this company I am definitely cancelling my service I'm going to find someone with a much better history. In the whole funny part of it is we just got some dear resident flyer from them that said that we should feel more secure in our homes with an armed guard in the amstoy eStates area and that they are pleased to introduce a dedicated Patrol to our community that's a joke. I'm in the "Amestoy Estate" area in Encino, an up-scale part of the S.F. Valley. I have been an advocate for ACS as they promised exclusive coverage for our area. I'm particular about who I give money to, my account is kinda like a reward. Have a malfunction in our keypad and called it in early, no response throughout the day. Called following morning and person said had to get scheduling book and after 3 minutes on hold I hanged up assuming that, having my info, would return call. Nothing. Called to talk to management following day stating that I'm thinking of leaving, so call me, again, nothing. Call returned this morning and manager acknowledges doing poorly in our neighborhood, people not paying and yes, they are busy and even though put on hold, shouldn't expect a return call. As I said, I'm particular about whom I reward with my business and due to their customer service, I'm cancelling my account. read more

Complete waste of time! Our neighborhood decided to hire ACS about 5 years ago to patrol the streets due to an increase in crime. We went along with the group and signed up for the monthly service of neighborhood yellow ACS truck patrol. The first few months were good, they assigned 4 trucks to our area, likely to show visibility and encourage other neighbors to sign up... Then the ball dropped, we saw less and less yellow ACS trucks and even now when I see the patrol trucks they are parked and the guys are napping, chatting with each other or playing on there phones. Our neighborhood crime rate has not changed. WORST OF ALL, we had a break in during they day when our cleaning lady was home and when I received the call from her, after 911 was called, I immediately call ACS patrol. THEY WERE NO WHERE AROUND, the company explained that they had 'just sent someone home sick'.... uhhhhh what about coverage? NOPE, no one was in the area. We were paying monthly fees to have 24-hour patrol which means coverage! They sent a truck over from Bel Air but it took them over an hour to get there that time of day and by that time the police and detectives were already there. I don't trust this company, they are lazy, ineffective and a waste of money. read more

I like having ACS patrolling Castle Heights. It is an extra pair of eyes when we aren't home, it is someone we can call when we need a patrol to look into something suspicious, and it happens faster than LAPD could do. Their vacation monitoring also comes in handy. read more

I have been an ACS customer for 13 years at my old house which was near the east gate (and their office in Bel Air) and currently in Brentwood. This is a privately owned company and in the 13 years of being a customer have only found their service to be top-notch. They call, they show up and are visible on my street. The manager George and the service rep AJ were both incredibly helpful and knowledgable with a small issue I have been having. No need to look at other companies, they are as good as it gets in this business. read more

We have been using ACS Dedicated Patrol for nearly 2 years in our Neighborhood...we have been very satisfied, they do everything they say they are going to do AND...the stats in Crimemapping.com for our neighborhood prove that since they started the Dedicated Patrol crime DID reduce in our pocket. The vacation coverage, the mail pick up, and customer service has been awesome. I feel the yellow truck cruising around is a deterrent to crime, i also received custom yard stakes and phone numbers to corp and the cars. It works for me!!. read more

I am totally shocked at the horrible service from ACS. The guards have always been professional and helpful. Although, the way the company is run is terrible, inexcusable and unacceptable. George from ACS admitted to me a few days ago that 2, 3 or more days could go by before they even have a patrol car patrolling my neighborhood. I had to call them the other night because I heard a loud bang coming from my kitchen when I was approaching my home. It took the guard 25 minutes to get to my house because he was all the way over on Robertson, far away from my neighborhood. He was very professional and helpful, the problem is the company did not have any cars dedicated to my neighborhood as they represented there would be when I signed up for their service. When I first moved in to my house they kept on driving by, making it appear they have a presence in the neighborhood when in fact they do not. It is very clear from what I have read on these posts and heard from my neighbors ACS does this when someone buys a home to make it appear they are patrolling the neighborhood in a responsible manner when they are not. SSA was the security patrol company in the neighborhood I moved from, they are outstanding. Any time I had to call them they would be there in 2 minutes because they had 2 cars dedicated to the neighborhood at all times. I cannot imagine how ACS can collect payment for patrol when they are not patrolling the neighborhood - it is a total ripoff and a serious safety issue.
