ACS has let me down more than once, and I would not recommend using them now or in the future. Issues related to their installation were never properly resolved, despite numerous attempts to reach management over the past two years. I pay a significant monthly fee for a system that I often can't even use because the sensors are so overly sensitive that I have to bypass them just to set the alarm. I tried escalating the issue to Vincent, one of the managers, which turned out to be a complete waste of time. read more

Buyer beware. We paid in advance for a two year contract with brand new installed equipment and 1.5 year into the contract the equipment failed. To be more specific the keypad was no longer communicating with the system. Acs wanted to charge $70 plus $65 per half hour and all parts needed to fix it. We are fairly new customers of ACS (installed security December, 2024). Initially people in this business were helpful & responsive. Service people who installed our system did a good job. Our systems were very expensive to install & we now pay a monthly charge as well. We installed an outside surround surrounding our house, which is of no use, because animals (squirrels, raccoons, etc.) at night set the alarm off, & after multiple nights of being awakened in the middle of the night by this alarm, we don't use it. I have been told this is commonplace in surround type alarm installation & is not recommended. No one at ACS mentioned this prior to our paying for this useless system. I recently had to have a battery replaced on an alarm we couldn't reach ourselves, so I had to call for a service visit. Service visits, even for a 5 minute battery replacement are very expensive so one has to hope nothing needs repair after installation. Lastly, I recently learned that it is necessary to pay extra for patrol car service because if you don't, ACS will not come to your house in an emergency. They merely call your emergency into police who then come to help when they get the time to dispatch help. read more

The response from critical alarms is superior - they send patrol immediately and triage the problem the moment your alarm is triggered. For that aspect of the business they receive an A+. However service wise, they're totally wonky. Their techs are not that great - never show up on time, never seem to know what you called about, never seem to have the required gear. As a fast follow, they immediately pivot to 'whats not included' as the first thought before actually doing any word to investigate actuality. They then send bogus bills that rarely if ever match service provided. Be sure to document your communication and transactions with them and you'll be fine. read more

Thank you for responding. I have been in contact with the person you suggested I speak to, at the email address you have given, as well as a few others. Nothing has been fully resolved yet. I have asked to speak to general manager, regional manager ... or someone else besides the address you have given, to fully resolved the issue, as the mentioned employee says she has no authority to fully refund the years of overpayment, but has offered 2 years of overpayment, but will not tell me who I can speak to besides her about this since it's 5 years of overpayment that has been admitted, I have emails that document all correspondence that detail my over billing. I keep asking for someone besides this employee who can help me, and I have yet to receive an email or a call from a regional manager, which was supposed to happen but I never received any calls or emails, to help me get my refund. I was promised someone with authority to help me would contact me to resolve the issue. I would like a full refund of the over billed amount ... nothing more or less. I have been overpaying for at least 5 years ... my equipment was installed in 2017. All I am asking for is the over billed about. There is a 3 year payoff of my equipment at one price. That ended in 2020. After that it should have dropped the equipment charge. I have been paying the equipment fee on top of my regular fees for 5 additional years now... Not right to do to a loyal customer of almost 10 years. I would love to remain a customer and finally solve this issue. My account number is 40091000. Leaving after 7 years. Man, it really sucks when you have loyalty to a company for years and in the end they just don't care about you. The sales guys & electrician in the very beginning were great which is why I went with them (and they get a second star). Both guys are gone now and I think that's a sign now that I know more. There were several incidents over the years, all of which I was unhappy with. Should have left earlier, but not me and my stupid 'loyalty.' INCIDENT ONE: we always called them before we left town. Once, while on vacation, the alarm DID go off.... but it was a neighbor who called me, not ACS. No police were dispatched either. When we got back and I called, the manager was very apologetic and admitted they messed up and he would let me break the contract if I wanted. His apology saved our business. Apparently he's now gone too. INCIDENT TWO: The motion sensors we upgraded to stopped working, and they admitted they had had trouble with these devices, but when they came to replace them, I got charged for the labor *and* the new sensors. INCIDENT THREE: Once we came home and all of our signs were changed to Alarm 360. No note, no call, just changed. When I called to see if the company was sold, they said, "No, you just live in an in gray place between ACS and our sister company Alarm 360. A sales agent must have seen your home and decided to change the signs." Uh- thanks for telling me?! THE LAST STRAW: They called to say I was late in payment, which I don't do, so when I called back I found out it was because my credit card in file had expired. Then they told me I also owed a late fee (why didn't they call sooner????) There was never notice- just the collections department. NOW they say if I want to cancel I need to give another 30 days notice AND (here's the kicker) I need to put another card on file for the final 30 days (that's right- I can't just pay it, I have to put it on file!) When I told the lady all the issues above, she said I "only had monitoring" and that a police officer wouldn't have been called for the first incident? So like, you watch as my house is broken into? You don't call the police... like at all?? PLEASE just go elsewhere. Don't do what I did and give them chance after chance. All the good people who work here quit. I live in the San Fernando Valley and their officers have always been very nice and professional at all times. My alarm went off recently about a month ago and they beat me to my house as I was at a friends nearby. Overall I would say this is a good company to do business with. read more

Horrible service!!!! our house got robbed on Friday our camera show patrol standing in front of our house for about 60 seconds while the robbers are inside and he does nothing and drives off!!!! we called the owner of the company to get more information on Saturday and said if this was an emergency you should've called on Friday useless service. Customer of over 8 years. Service has gone down big big time. Pretty much worse than ADT now (we use them on another property), and that says a lot. Service tech was requested for a simple upgrade question. He shows up in plain clothes (t-shirt and jeans, no credentials displayed) to perform work on an alarm in a large property. Answers my questions about options. Then leaves the system in programming mode so it cannot be used. Honest accident. I call ACS to dispatch someone to release programming mode. I get the routine 'we will have someone call you back' 3 times. The alarm cannot be used. Between the techs now showing up plain clothes to work on peoples home alarms mixed with the inability to repair their mistake in a timely fashion to use the alarm you pay for and pay to monitor means the company has become a bloated mess of everyone passing you along and no end result. I would hate to see how they respond to a true emergency. read more

Unfortunately, the value of the service compared to the cost is subpar. We had the system for over 3 years and during that time we were still robbed. Authorities are not called fast enough and no one from ACS shows up. If/when the cameras are working, you do get to watch as someone smashes in your back door, which is interesting. Unfortunately, there is no two-way talk function so you can't tell them to stop. Once the power is cut off to the house the entire system go down. Also, if you have a service request or something isn't working with your system, they charge you an initial fee and an hourly rate in addition to what you already pay. Canceling the service is an absolute nightmare. They continuously transfer you to a mailbox for someone named Michelle who will not call you back after multiple voice messages. read more

I am a bit conflicted. There are reasons that make me want to give them a higher rating, and there are plenty other reasons why I would want to give 1 star. Overall, they are a decent security company, and an excellent alternative to a company like ADT that is just too big to care. ACS is expensive, lethargically slow in terms of getting service out for the system, and could do better with response times. However, their redeeming and positive quality is definitely in their front line guards, that really do the toughest part of the job. They're always around and patrolling the neighborhood we're in, so I send kudos and a thank you to them. ACS would get 5 stars if they reducing their pricing a bit, and optimized their tech to improve their response times and user experience. Update: I have not been contacted one time (let alone multiple times) by anyone at ACS per Ashley's comment below. My contact information is current in their system. Could not be more unsatisfied with ACS. My first problem began while getting married in Mexico... We get an alert on our wedding day that there's been a break in. Turns out it was a faulty sensor. Over the years... Continue to have problems with their sensors and alarms going off. The final straw was this weekend when the siren went off... And would not respond to my passcode to turn it off. We had to manually remove the battery so the alarm would stop blasting at 10:30 PM. I was told by technical support that it must've been because we had activated the panic button on our key fob. Only problem is... We don't have a key fob with a panic button. Getting someone out to service our equipment has never been easy also. And on top of that... After reporting this most recent problem... since I called after hours... They said they would phone back on Monday morning too organize a repair. Never heard back from them. Oh yeah... They also said my control panel... Since it's three years old probably needs to be replaced... And it is not covered. So... be careful with this company. They use faulty equipment... They make you pay for the faulty equipment when they replace it... And then are sluggish to respond. Not a fan. The whole purpose of having an alarm company is for security... ACS has left my house and my family unprotected. read more

Just had my home's home security done. The next morning I woke up there was an issue with a bad battery on my panel. They replaced the bad panel, re-enrolled all the sensors and were a genuine pleasure to have at my home. Both Vincent and Damian are amazing people who offer unparalleled customer service, I can't believe that this was able to be figured out on a weekend and can only give the highest recommendation for ACS as a company. They are doing it right. I am working on adding an extension to my house in LA, and needed to have 24/7 security during the construction. I contacted ACS because it seemed that most of my neighbors were using ACS and I see their patrol cars coming through the neighborhood periodically. ACS installed a system with two video cameras and a keypad in the kitchen, and I have given our contractors individual access codes so I know who is opening the house. I keep tabs on the activity with the video feeds. I've been very happy with the system. Rick Navarro, my rep, has been super helpful in tweeking the system so that I get the information I need to manage the construction. Without the video feeds, managing this project would be impossible. read more

I rather not have security and not turn my alarm on anymore. Last night I turned it on after a long time. I get to the place I want to get to and I get a call from them that my alarm is going off! I had just left the house for ten minutes and the alarm went on! It was false alarm. Then they call me and ask if I need to have forced entry! ‍. These guys are great! I happily switched my contract from ADT/TYCO due to very overpriced and poor customer service (no point in wasting your time with the details, but I had their services for many years and its just too big and impersonal of a company now - sales rep is in the twilight zone somewhere). That said, ACS has provided excellent service on the consult and installation, good pricing, and my experience with Vince Espinoza in sales and the technician, Henry was stellar. We have been ACS clients for many years. Their patrol officers are attentive and efficient. They have excellent technicians as well. And their Call Center staff is outstanding. Recently, we began having occasional problems with one of our keypads. We called ACS and a technician was sent to our home. The technician looked at our problem and determined that the issue would not be a "simple fix" as our system was more than 15-years old and replacements were no longer available. But he would try a System Reset and see if it resolved our issue. It did! He showed me how to do it myself in the near term and it limped along for a while until resetting no longer worked. We contacted ACS, and they sent one of their Security Consultants to discuss a replacement. Our consultant, Henry spent the better part of a morning evaluating our system and requirements. He recommended two systems that would satisfy all our requirements and desires. Henry then arranged an appointment two days later for an alarm technician to install the new system. The technician, Tony, was meticulous. Not only did he replace most of our old sensors while installing the new system, but he also spent time teaching us how it worked and taught us how to use it. Tony helped me install an App on my phone allowing me to monitor the system while we are away and providing "remote control" of all its functions. I would recommend ACS for both security patrols along with alarm system consulting and installation. read more

I've lived in an area "guarded" by ACS security for 7 years. I see the guards sitting in their parked cars or driving around frequently, so they are at least present. However, the only "service" I have received after 7 years of high HOA payments is a few citations and my car being towed from in front of my garage. For the towing, they didn't make the effort to knock on my door, they used a different (farther) toe company than the the one posted on signs, and they didn't notify me that my car had been towed. I had to call to figure out that my car had not been stolen, then have a guard call another guard to figure out which tow company he had used. Shady, impolite, and unprofessional. Avoid if possible. read more

I called ACS for help and Rhonda not only helped me with everything I needed help with, she also got me to calm down and feel at ease. Signed up with their private patrol service a year ago. It was great for the first six months with daily patrol vehicle appearances on my street. After six months the service tapers off and maybe they'll show up maybe once a week. The service level fell to the bottom in the last two months with zero presence. No shows even on requested vacation watch days. I left weekly voicemails with the patrol manager goes unanswered. Good luck everybody. You are own your own with ACS. read more

We have ACS monitoring as well as Armed Patrol. I have to say, they really do care about their customers. I see the Patrol guys throuhout the day and the night as our cameras capture everything - they are well worth the peace of mind they provide - Thank You Dennis and his Patrol Team! We also recently had an issue with our panel & communiations between the Alarm and the App on our phones... Thanks to Charles, Service Supervisor, he coordinated to have an amazing tech come out who was extremely knowlegeable; that Tech was German B. Within minutes, German had checked everything out and knew what the issue was, he fixed everything and also showed me a thing for two that I didnt know about so I am very gratefule to him for taking care of us. He is one of the nicest, most patient and kind techs I have ever met. ACS is really amazing and I would highly reccomend them!! read more

Like every chain, ACS is only as good as its weakest link. When they were wooing me to become a customer, honestly, the sales guy practically stalked me. He was in front of my house when I arrived home from work at least three days a week, sweet-talking me about how great ACS would be for me and my family. Finally, I decided to go ahead and make the switch from another company. ACS used all of the old company's ancient technology and timeworn wiring, so it didn't cost them a dime to "install" the system. The number of service calls has been astonishing, but probably shouldn't be a surprise, given how old the equipment is. Some of the techs have been great - like Steve - but a few have been a nightmare - like the one who said that his computer showed that the problem had self-corrected, so there was no need to replace the sensor. Away he went, and within 48 hours, the alarm was shreiking - sometimes in the middle of the night - as if there had been a break-in. They just didn't want to change the sensor covered under the warranty. The straw that broke this camel's back was when we replaced some French doors a few weeks ago, and the installers removed the sensors. They wouldn't restore them, because they saw it as a liability if they restored them in any way that malfunctioned. I called ACS to have the sensors restored, and was quoted $1189 - that's if the job was done within one hour of their arrival. I'm done with them. I just phoned to ask how the system was working, and they told me they've NOT HAD A SIGNAL from my home since 01/23. It's now 02/08. Did anyone wonder why they had no signal? Did anyone think to phone me to see if we are all okay here? I just spoke with someone, who offered to "test the system." Ummm...no. I didn't give ACS a score of "1 star" ONLY because of "Steve," the technician who always showed up on time, was immaculately groomed, pleasant, polite, friendly without being obsequious, SMART, competent, etc. He's a role model for others. Were it not for him, this rating would be worse. read more
