The next cheapest place for about $35 dollars... so with the yelp deal you can't beat the price. The guys were super helpful. I was seen right away. I called and (not sure who I spoke to) was extremely helpful, friendly and let me know there was a discount coupon I could use if I decided to come in. I was there this morning for a smog check. It was walk in only and I was afraid that I'd have to wait a while. Lucky for me, I was seen right away. The gentlemen at the front desk were cool people. The gave me an estimate time for completion of smog check, they completed the job quicker. Awesome! During the short time I waited, I helped myself to a cappuccino. They also had a cute popcorn machine in the waiting area where customers could help themselves. Thats nice of them to offer that for their clients. I warn you, do not go to this place. First of all, the owner is pretty mch rude. He was talking crap that adjusting coils are pita and charged me 140 compared to legit shops near anaheim area which do it for 80. I said okay since they were going to do alignment the same day. You know what? Screw you guys. I didnt pay 290 for you guys to over tighten my freaking springs so that it damages my coilovers and overpressure my shocks. Also you guys told me my popping noise is from my car being lowered and sway bar amd endlinks havin nowhere to go. Thats where i smelled your BS and never went back. You cant do a simple alignment and adjustment, when other shops charge cheaper and is not rude to customers. Ill let all my community know, and trust me I know more people than you think. You guys underestimated my knowledge and if you guys arent aware of any of the things i am telling you , you guys really need to fire that stupid employee who worked on my car. Freaking ridiculous, consider yourself a loss of many potential customers in the area because I am going to copy paste this in every car forum that is used in the local area. From the moment I called and spoke with Carlton, I felt so comfortable with the entire process. We had very little money and we were quoted lower prices elsewhere, but we chose this place because of the integrity and kindness from start to finish. We figured a few extra dollars was worth it and it definitely was. I had other mechanics treat me with little respect. One of the other places I called had the nerve to ask if my husband was home so he could talk because apparently women have no business taking about cars. Carlton never talked down to me and treated me with great respect. I can't tell you how much that meant to me. He knew exactly what our car needed with in depth knowledge of our vehicle. I came here to get my car smogged after reading so many great Yelp reviews. The Yelpers did not disappoint. Five star Service from the moment I entered their doors. I was greeted warmly with a big smile and the guy guessed immediately I was there for smog because he saw my DMV paperwork. He said the wait was not bad and he could take me right away. The waiting area was definitely one of the better waiting areas I have ever sat in. Relatively clean/neutral smell (faint smell of rubber from the new tires on display, but it was not overpowering.) They had some light Christmas decorations, fresh coffee brewing, a flavored coffee machine, and some popcorn to snack on. Several clean and comfy couches to hang out on. My smog was done in under 45 minutes, and using the Yelp check-in offer (purchase $50 voucher for $25), I only had to pay 20 cents cash after redeeming the voucher! Very painless experience. Other members of my family have been coming here for a few years and always say that they feel they aren't getting ripped off. So, I went last week and they quickly diagnosted the situation. I just bought a used car and needed to get a smog check to register it. Saw all the good reviews for this local place and the $25 for $50 deal and decided to give them a try. Figured I'd get there just after 8am on Saturday and be one of their first customers. When I walked in 3 people were already waiting for their service to be completed. Good sign. 3 staff members were working behind the front desk so there was no wait to get started. While I waited for my smog check there was fresh coffee, doughnuts, and popcorn. The waiting room also has 4 comfortable leather couches. The estimated wait was an hour but it was done in about 20 minutes or less. Carlton went over some of the stuff that was seen during the service like brake pads, an oil leak, and wiper blades. Another reviewer gave a negative review for all of this extra information, but I appreciated it. There was no sell at all to do any other service than what I came for. I needed a smog check on my car asap. Their were several to choose from in the Cypress area but found the $25 for $50 Yelp deal with Action. I called to ask if the certificate was included and Tristan said it was! Wow, what a deal. It gets better, I got there and my car was finished in 20 mins, which was awesome. The entire staff was friendly and helpful. They even briefly mentioned little fixes that they saw during inspection of my car with no pressure at all to have them fix it. I was very impressed by this place. I came in for a smog check and oil change. They honored an online coupon for each, so it ended up being a very good price. There are two clean, comfortable areas to wait inside. It was super clean, and they had free popcorn and coffee while you wait. They gave me a rundown on all the things that should, at some point be done to my car, and spent time answering my questions. But they never pushed me to do any service then and there. These guys are pretty friendly. I got a flat tire due to a gigantic drill bit that was somehow lodged in my tire. They were able to plug/patch the hole pretty quickly at for a pretty good price! I just changed my oil here and they were super friendly. The synthetic oil change only cost about $54 here, which I paid around $70 at other places. Since I used my yelp deal, it was around $30 total ($25 on yelp + ~$4 here) Not only that, they did all the free check-ups and tire rotation for me. Super cheap for a high quality service! I read their yelp reviews and someone said they might try to charge you for unnecessary repairs. But that was not my case at all. They told me that my car was in a very good condition and nothing is needed to be fixed. So I think they are honest but just very careful with their check-ups. My car is only ~4 year old so it can still be in a good condition. But if you have an older car, their careful check-ups might find you full lists of things to be repaired. But that's up to you if you want to repair those in the end, and it's still good to know what could be running bad in your car even if you choose not to fix them at that point. (I think it's like...dentist will find you all your cavities, but they will also tell you which ones should be fixed immediately and which ones you can wait longer to fix depending on your budget.) Since they are popular, I had to wait for ~2 hours. But I didn't mind it at all because they have a very comfortable guest lobby with everything you might need...free wifi, coffee, candy, popcorn, donuts and comfy sofa! With my laptop, I think I can spend a whole day here. I will definitely come back. :D Thank you so much, Action Auto!! read more
