I've always lived in the area and never really noticed this place existed until I saw it on Yelp. I made an appointment the evening before, and they were able to service me first thing in the morning to help get the AC in my car working again. The waiting room and what I saw of the service bay was very clean. I talked to Atrak (who I believe is the Manager based on other reviews and his name sounds like he belongs in a Fast & Furious movie, which rules,) and he showed me what they did to my car and gave me suggestions on what else I could do to improve the AC. I specifically chose the word SUGGEST because nobody tried to pressure me to do anything. I drive an old Honda that runs great despite 170k miles and I have no real interest investing a lot of money aside from basic maintenance and it was refreshing not having to explain that repeatedly just to get out of there. The price I was quoted was the price they charged me, which was also very nice. Obviously a quote can change depending on the circumstance but for this particular case it was the same. Everyone I talked to or even walked past all gave a smile and asked how I was doing. Very friendly atmosphere. Long story short: Nice place that can be easily overlooked given the area. I'll be back to ask them if they can see what other basic low cost maintenance things can be done to keep my Honda running another 50k miles. read more

Went in for a simple oil change on a newer car that I keep well maintained. The owner and mechanics felt very coordinated and pushy. Right away they tried to upsell brakes and filters. They told me my brakes were at about 50% and still pushed to replace them, even though that's not urgent. It felt like everything was being made to sound like a big problem. I'd like to preface this review by saying at the end of everything, I had a good experience albeit with some anxiety mixed in. I had my doubts as the person I spoke to on the phone, Atrak, wasn't at the shop when I showed up at the agreed time. As a result, there was initially what I felt was some miscommunication right off the bat. The mechanics had to call Atrak and we had to discuss the plans again, with the mechanics present. To be clear, I am not a mechanic, but I have worked on my own cars since I was a teenager. I know enough that I could have done the job on my own, but unfortunately, strict HOA rules prohibit me from working on my car, even in my own garage. Anyways, that is all to say I just needed a place that would swap out lower control arm bushings & brackets. A simple swap out, bolt off, bolt on. So... I called around and Karta was the only one that offered to at least check out what needed to be done, on the same day. I arrived at the shop but none of the mechanics knew what I was there for. Anxiety started building at this point. Communication with the mechanics was tough, but I won't hold it against them. They initially stated the job would take 3-4 hours, which I immediately disagreed, with all due respect. The installation guide provided by the manufacturer and multiple youtube videos shows it would take around 30 minutes or less. This is why I say I felt there was some miscommunication, as I am not doubting their experience and expertise, but I was worried they were thinking I wanted to do another kind of project. Another part of the miscommunication was that I thought we agreed that they would first check out how they could get the project done, provide me a cost (Plan A [less time] vs Plan B [more time]), then give me the opportunity to confirm or back out, but they just ended up doing Plan A without my confirmation. But at that point I was already there for 30 minutes so I figured whatever, let's just get it done. They ended up getting the job done under an hour. Another note, the replacement parts provided lubrication grease, but they did not use it and said there was already lube on the bolt. However, the stock parts had no trace of lube so I have my concerns that it was installed without any lubrication grease. This, I will have to confirm on my own and may update my review accordingly. With that being said, I drove about 10 miles after and didn't feel or hear anything out of the ordinary, so it could just be that I worry for no reason. Thank you Atrak and Karta Motorwerks for being so accommodating, and addressing my concerns. Like someone else here I was so excited about my same day quote and that they had the parts in stock I rushed in at the earliest break in the rain to make sure my car was cared for because living in Southern California that's mandatory. I get there and after lots of waiting there like we don't have the part. We'll go look for it. I'm polite about it cuz I'm already pissed that they lied to me. If you didn't have the part then how did you give me the $60 quote? And if you didn't have the part then why did you say it was in stock? But I remain polite, waited for them to look at a couple places, he came back said he would need to call around then he would call me with a quote. The first things that I was told that were not true was over writing, but this was looking in my eyes. He told me that he would get back to me that day to let me know the prices, approve it before special order. Nothing. So we're up to THREE lies now. Great first impression. It's 3 days later, I was even giving them a chance to get back to me, still nothing. If they had at least tried to make it right this review wouldn't go up but I was lied to, my time was wasted and that precious window was a big deal because it could have been getting my car cared for somewhere that was honest with me or at the dealer putting in a special order that I know will actually come through. Instead I was quoted a price out of thin air for parts that I was told were in stock but we're not then was told I would get a call to make sure we get this figured out, he reassured me he would take care of me, nothing. If there had been even a little bit of accountability or if ANYTHING had been done to make it right, this review wouldn't be going up. I always give people chances to correct their mistakes assuming that maybe both the price quote of the non-existent part as well as reporting the non-existent part in stock were mistakes. Exceptional!!! Unfortunately for me ( and like these things usually go, it happened at a very bad time ), the engine in my 2002 very clean Toyota Avalon completely fried. It was almost foolish to spend what it would take to repair such an old car with over 170,000 miles. However this one has an impeccable interior, no dents and still 8 or 9 out of ten paint, a completely modernized wireless Apple car play backup camera, amps, subwoofer sound system. I just couldn't bear to just have it towed away to a junk yard. I spoke with my usual repair shop who refused to install a used engine. He just didn't like the idea because he only trusted his source for the engine and they didn't have one. I then called 3 additional places who basically passed. ( This is where it gets really good!) ... I am SO Glad that I made one more call! I spoke with ATRAK at Karta Motorwerks. It was the exact opposite of my previous conversations. Atrak was completely on top of his game! He immediately told me it was something they do all the time. He sounded absolutely confident that it was a total no-brainer for them. Guess what? Absolute 10 out of 10!!! I feel very fortunate to find Karta Motorwerks. I have an older Honda Civic and the wheel well fell down while driving. This was a simple fix, and the mechanic, Charlie, did an inspection and found that my wheel control arm was severely damaged. He showed me, and I could immediately see the cracks and it appeared to be disintegrating. He continued to inspect the car and met with me afterwards to go over everything that had been done and assure me my car was safe. Atrak, who was running the office, got on the phone, located the parts and took care of everything within a day. He treated me with respect and provided impeccable customer service. The thing is I have had three different corporate tire and wheel companies perform inspections in the last 6 months, having just replaced my tires. This would have been something that should have been discovered if they were performing a real inspection. Karta Motorwerks not only found it, but fixed it at a very reasonable cost.
