They get three stars simply for existing, but I won't give them a great rating otherwise. Try sella bunch of yaks and a limited amount of accessories, they even sold me a foot pedal that he clearly took off an old yak in the back, and when it didn't fit, I could only return it for store credit. read more

The staff is less qualified and technical to provide appropriate advice. The owner is not customer services driven and obviously that cast an overtone among the entire business. The owner is operating the business like it's closing and attempting to make every single penny possible. I am surprised Action Sports stays in business with full/High retail pricing and poor customer service. There's much better choices on the Island and on your way to a ski mountain. read more

Stopped in for pricing on a kayak. The young salesman was extreemly knowledgeable and very patient answering my questions and had lots of valuable advice about kayaks. This place is money hungry. I've rented from this place a few times a year and they've always been accommodating for the most part. This has changed after the last visit and I probably will not be back because of it. I rented skis and boots for a short weekend up to Vermont, this was the third time renting from them this season. On sunday I left Vermont at 6 am in the morning, more than enough time to return my skis. Vermont got hit with a huge snow storm. Instead of taking 4 and a half hours to get back, it took us 8 and a half hours to get home. As you could imagine I was already pissed off from the drive. Arriving only 1 hour and a half late back to action sports, the guy made me pay for another day. After pleading my case, he was a dick about it and made me pay. A snow storm like that where they declared everyone to stay off the roads. It was an act of god you idiot, they're lucky I even stopped to bring my stuff back. They only want your money and don't give a crap about you. read more

Last year, after spending almost a thousand dollars at this place, going on a weekend ski trip with my boyfriend and going to return the ski equipment the Monday after, they tried to squeeze us for another 20 dollars each for being "late". The girl told us to return them by "Monday". Not once did anyone ever say anything about a time. The guy pointed out the VERY fine print that said "before 1:00" just over my initials on a flimsy slip they gave us at checkout and said "Well why did you sign this then?" He was very rude to us for giving the equipment back a few hours late and said he would charge us for being an entire day late. We explained multiple reasons why we wouldn't have even been able to get there before 1:00, one being that I had a doctors appointment at that time, and all he could say was that I signed it, so I had to pay it, and there was nothing I could do about it. We left very unhappily. A couple weeks later, we both checked our bank accounts, and we hadn't been charged. Figured they might have gained some sense and decided not to charge us. Then a MONTH later, my boyfriend was charged 43 dollars and change from action sports. They charged him for both of our "late fees" PLUS TAX. A MONTH later. Unbelievable. No one told us it had to be back by a certain time. And they were very unreasonable, unapologetic, and unsympathetic about that fact, and the fact that we wouldn't have been able to return it by 1 in the first place. Needless to say, that was the first and last time we will be giving that place any business. read more

First and foremost, I'm an amateur snowboarder so I may not know for sure what the perfect rental experience should go like but I was more than satisfied. Scott was very knowledgeable and recommended I try a wider board which no other rental shop suggested before. Again, this was only my third trip snowboarding but I definitely enjoyed it more than the standard width boards I'd been using before. I also received higher quality boots than I had been given in the past and they were very comfortable. The prices were comparable to where I've rented before and frankly, if you do a good job with your customer service, I don't mind paying a few bucks extra. Overall, I was very pleased with the prices and service so I'll definitely be using them again. read more

If I could rate them with zero stars, I would. The customer service is absolutely horrendous. These people are plain rude. Their products quaility is awful. But most of all you can expect them not to stand by you as a customer or help you when their equipment doesn't work. They are useless and I can't believe they are still in business. read more

Buyer beware! We rented equipment for the season for a family of four, plus bought brand new helmets! Almost $700 in one visit not to mention previous visits. As a first time skier I wasn't aware how boots should fit. The clearly untrained teenager told me "tight" is how it should feel. After my first ski trip the boots were so tight I couldn't wear them and needed to rent equipment at the mountain. When I went in the owner was condescending and unreasonable. He explained that as an adult I should know that they didn't fit right regardless that it was my first time. He then began to insult us by telling us we should be happy he exchanged them for us. The young man that helped me exchanged the boots said "no one should have ever given you these boots, they clearly are not the right size and also for an advanced skier". In closing after being so insulted by the owner with no resolution other then we are lucky for the exchange we left. I may add we were also purchasing more items ( 2 sets of gloves for kids). You would think the owner would say hey let me give you 20% off the gloves since you had to rent all new equipment that cost almost half of what it cost you for the season rental. We never expected him to pay us for the new rentals just a little compassion or some empathy. Instead he just berated us in front of our children. Needles to say we eventually walked out and didn't give him our business for the gloves. I warn you go to a place were you are valued not berated. read more
