Horrible horrible!! I contacted AAA and the service person came and said my battery died. They offered to have my battery charged at this site. Another service person assisted me and did a horrible job! He didn't check to see if all the screws were on and I had to point out a couple spots for him to tighten. The next day my car did not turn on. I had my mechanic checked and there's missing parts. The battery was not securely tighten, which causes the car to lose power. The point of having my battery changed that night was to solve the issue. Now it's taking more time and costing more to get a simple issue resolve! read more

I called AAA for a battery replacement and had the pleasure of being helped by Eric. He took one look at my car and realized the battery he had brought with him wasn't the correct one, and went through the trouble of going back to his shop to get a new one. when he returned, he explained that the person who had previously installed the battery had used one with lower voltage and then jammed an old bottle next to it to make it al fit because he hadn't wanted to go through the hassle of installing the correct battery. Eric went above and beyond to make sure my car ran as smoothly as possible. As someone who needs to trust the person fixing the mechanics of my car, I'm thankful Eric was the one who showed up today. read more

Horribly unprofessional, rude team (to be fair, 2 guys were angry and rude upon arrival and 1 guy was nice but unable to control the other 2). One man lost his temper when we asked a simple question about how they were planning to get my car out given a unique spacing situation, yelled at my dad (who had come to pick me up and simply asked whether they would be able to tow back-end up given it would have ruined the suspension to do a traditional front-wheel tow), then subsequently refused service and left with no explanation. The parking security attendant was there to witness and confirmed that there was no basis for his attitude, and that we had only asked one question and hadn't been getting in his way at all. In fact we had only been standing to the side answering his questions up until that point. I would call any other shop besides these guys if you need reliable service. 100% don't call them if you're a female who wants to feel safe and be treated respectfully. Finally, they were not following Covid protocol and wearing masks. Coulda gotten this done in time for everyone to watch the Super Bowl if temper tantrum man hadn't woken up in the wrong side of bed. read more

They call themselves "Action Towing" but the more acurate name would be "Inaction Towing" since AAA called them at 12:03 in the afternoon to give a jump to the battery in my car and almost two hours later, they still had not arrived. Finally, I had my wife come and took her car to the local AutoZone and bought jumper cables and jumped it myself. As I am getting ready to leave with my battery restored, the "Inaction Towing" guy finally shows up. He said that he did not get the call to come out until ten minutes beforehand. I then called their office and the person I reached was totally unapologetic. He told me that "This is the way Action Towing works. There are three to five calls and the tow truck driver can only get to you when he gets to you." I told him that did not cut it for me. read more

I live not two blocks from this place and the tow trucks alway block traffic. This morning as I was driving home it happens again. Driver only had his left signal on. Then when I'm fully stopped behind him he turns in emergency lights. As I honk for him to move he doesn't so I wait for traffic to let me merge so I could continue on my way home. It's good to know in the midst of a tragedy that action towing is nowhere near fair to help it's clients out. I'm a young business owner and when my truck got into an accident they charged me close to $800 to pull it out off the side of the freeway and literally drive it not even a half a block off The offramp. The truck was in a tough situation in a tough position but nevertheless it's didnt take more than two hours of time. Apparently they sent a wrong truck out the first time and I had to pay the cost of nearly $800 for that mistake. Reading other online reviews this normally should've cost close to $300-$400. When I ask for a discount I was laughed at which is really the most disappointing part. I pleaded with them and try to get a lower rate but they offered $100 after I already paid them so I was assed out. Do not rely on these guys to be fair at all I would literally look anywhere else for a towing company. If I could give zero star I would. The drivers are just dangerous. I've watched them race around the city for years, cutting people off, aggressive driving, not following the laws of the road. I know the towing business is literally chasing a dollar. What I saw recently at the intersection of Marengo and Mission was the driver of a flatbed not being able to stop at the line due to speeding. Went right over and then continued approaching the cross walk on the other side with people crossing. There were families and the driver just hit the gas and zoomed eastbound. Having AAA we called there first only to find have 2 wrong technicians sent out, and then to top it off given the run around for over an hour to learn that we had used up all our service calls for the year!!?! What the heck is up with AAA? So I started looking for another solution and came across Action. I spoke with Hamid over the phone and he was very respectful, polite, and fair on his pricing. When I told him where we were he gave us a 15-20 eta which was right on the money and one of his service guys Amir showed up. Hassan was great! I know it's the luck of the draw when it comes to time regarding AAA Roadside Assistance, but Hassan got to me like about 10-15 minutes and finished the job almost as quickly. I knew almost right away the issue was my battery. My last checkup revealed it would need to be replaced soon due to some really bad corrosion. Hassan was able to give me a brand new battery and attachments on site. He wasn't pushy about my making a purchase, but given the fact that I was to be doing a long drive the next day, it only made sense to get it all squared away. With the membership discount, it was about $160. Not bad. Honestly, I was expecting worse. But truly, Hassan made what can sometimes be a real headache completely painless. He was helpful, pleasant, kind and speedy. I was back on the road running my errands in no time. I can only hope any future roadside help can be just as enjoyable. read more

My experiences with Action Towing have been solely through my cries for help for AAA's road-side assistance. Recently I locked myself out of my car. Called AAA, waited a long time, no one showed up. I called back and was told by the operator that the driver had already showed up, but left after he was unable to find me. I did not see anyone coming, so I requested to have the driver come out again Eventually I saw a white pickup plastered with AAA emblems drove by, I waved, and the driver parked I was greeted by an exhausted and angry-looking Middle-Eastern man (I'm generalizing here: he looked very much like the Soup Nazi from Seinfeld, with a thick, luscious mustache that hipsters can only dream for), pointed his finger at his dispatch tablet computer and said "look at the address, look at it!" Confused, I looked on the tablet's screen, and was shocked: turned out I had Fair Oaks and Fremont mixed up, and gave the wrong street name. Lima, the poor driver, have been looking for me and my blue anonymous shitbox on wheels all over South Pasadena for the past hour. I apologized profusely while Lima swiftly got to work, jammed an inflatable balloon thing into the windows frame and pulled the door lock lever through the opening. Took him less than a minute to break in to my car, no rocks involved. Delighted, I had a big grin while thanking him for his expertise and for not giving up looking for me. "You know, at the end of the day, seeing a smile on customer's faces makes it all worth it" he said in a friendly voice, dispelling any of the Soup Nazi misconceptions I previously had. "I have something for you," he reached in his truck and handed me a chilled bottled water, "I know it's hot waiting in the sun all this time, take this." And almost as swiftly as he open my door, he hopped back into the driver seat and drove off into the sunset. He was so friendly and took the time to test the battery and troubleshoot the issue. HOW I ENDED UP HERE: I went here because it was closest to where I was and the guy who jumpstarted my car told me to come here, cuz that's where he works I guess. FIRST IMPRESSION: It's super small and looks really ghetto. You just park your car anywhere it'll fit. I just went for a battery replacement. I went inside the shack/bungalo and sat down on grimy old chairs with 2 other people who were there (I think they were getting a battery replacement also). PRICE: Total came out to be $107.60 (something like that - I don't remember for sure.) SERVICE/PEOPLE: The younger guy seemed really busy. Got us bottled water. Meh, whatevers. Also, the two other people who were waiting with me already seemed agitated because I guess they had waited a while to be serviced/picked up/jumpstarted - and then I think they were complaining about the price, saying that they could have gotten it for cheaper somewhere else. Shrugs. It was my first time getting a battery replaced, and the guy who first referenced me here told me that whatever prices they had would be the standard price. The older man (maybe his dad or something), was a lot nicer and I felt more comfortable around him. ALL IN ALL: I would like to try other places to see if there's something with a nicer environment/ambience. The neighborhood isn't shady at all - but the buliding itself is a small bungalow. I had a blowout on Aug 15, 2019 around 6:30 pm. It was still daylight. Being an AAA member and knowing Action Towing (AT) was an AAA contract station, I drove to their physical location. Upon my arrival, I Iearned AT had closed for the day. I was told I had to call AAA first and they would then contact AT to come to my aid. Not having a cell phone, I then left the AT's premises on foot to locate a Good Samaritan who would let me use their phone to contact the AAA. The AAA dispatcher assured me they would contact AT to "rescue" me. I then returned to stand by my car but no tow truck came after 25 minutes of waiting. About that time another AT employee arrived at AT to do the day's office paper work. I caught his attention,Trareza by name. Not his responsibility but he voluntarily made follow up calls to AAA on my behalf to inquire the status of matters. Trareza waited with me into the full darkness of the night until a tow truck arrived at 8:15 pm. Trareza missed his usual dinner at home to do so. AAA does not reimburse for that kind of service even though an AAA-caused mishandling of calls delayed my "rescue". The tow truck arrived 8:15 pm. The driver, Tango, mounted the spare tire ( a donut) in a matter of minutes and I was on my way home. I was totally satisfied with AT's employees for their services, especially Trareza waiting almost 2 hours with me on the street. That is extraordinary service by AT. read more

My car was stolen almost 2 months ago. Got a call 3 days ago saying it was found and yo go to this towing company. I get there and they tell me they received a call the same day my car was stolen saying it was on a private property and needed to be removed. My car had no tires/rims and no battery as well as other obvious reasons that showed the car was stolen. They did not notify the police until almost 2 months later and also tried to charge me $800 to get my car released from their yard. They had one employee that really tried to help me but the managers would not let him. This is a scam and against the law. I would not recommend them at all and advice people to be careful with them. read more

Explanation: I'm not sure about the rest of the other low reviews, maybe this company just had a bad day, but Action Towing answered my call immediately and with a friendly tone, arrived in the time they said they would arrive, and gave me THE ONLY BEST PRICE I COULD FIND IN PASADENA AREA. Seriously, I went through at least 11 towing services calling one by one with what google maps gave me and all gave me over $150 to tow 3.5 MILES... yes THREE MILES... 5 min drive on the freeway. Finally I found these people on Yelp & they gave me a MUCH MORE AFFORDABLE & REASONABLE price (thank goodness because i had no spare tire + my dumb "24/7" car insurance customer service line was CLOSED and I had no choice but to rely on towing from another company). I even got extra advice and tips from the towing guy who came (I'm sorry I couldnt get your name light skinned, very friendly/chill guy!) I almost never write reviews about places but action towing really deserves it !!! Got stranded in the middle of the road today and got no help from my own car insurance roadside assistance. After waiting 3 hours for a tow I ended up looking on yelp for towing services and found action towing. Gave them a call for a quick quote and had one of their drivers picking up my car within 30 minutes since my initial call. The driver that came to help me was literally an angle !!! Mynor I believe his name was (no sure about the spelling) was absolutely amazing. He was very nice and sweet. Even helped me calm down because I was crying in frustration due to the situation happening. Gave me a tow to a local mechanic that he trusts and didn't leave until he knew I was being helped at the mechanic shop. Great service!!! I was calling all around for a tow service but kept on coming across rude employees or the phone lines kept on ringing without an answer. Finally, I came across Action on Yelp and gave them a call. I hate that I didn't get the guys name but he answered right away, took all of my information and told me he would call me back with a quote. Within a few minutes he gave me a call back with a very reasonable quote for a tow from Pasadena to South Gate. I set up the tow for the following morning and they said they'd get to me by 7:30 and were there early. The driver Marco was the best! He was very friendly and very efficient with getting my car hitched up and delivered to South Gate in a timely manner. I would definitely recommend this towing service! read more

Over the last several years, we've had batteries die on several of our cars, at inopportune times. Each time, Action Towing arrived promptly, conducted themselves professionally, and replaced our batteries on the spot. We've never had trouble with the repair work that they've done. August 2014 - My car died on a Sunday evening. Completely died. The electrical system wouldn't even allow me to put the car in Neutral to roll it out of the neighbor's driveway. The woman on the phone was super helpful and let me know that the guy who would come with a new battery would be here in a half hour. The man named Hassan ended up coming a bit earlier and was done in roughly 15-20 minutes, all the while explaining to me what he was doing in regards to checking my old battery/acceleration/ignition and installing my new battery. He even answered a question I had about my Check Engine light which had flipped on/off 3 times in the past 2 months ~ check the gas cap & spark plugs. Something I'll make sure to check in the future. Overall, he was an extremely pleasant man who didn't show the slightest bit of irritation about working somewhere without shade (sorry it was hot, Hassan!) My battery was dead and needed replacement, so I called AAA and asked if they could come and replace my battery. YAY i didn't have to get the car jumped and drive to Pep Boys. (who I called earlier to get a quote) The truck arrived in 10 minutes. a super nice guy named Hassam (that's what it said on his shirt) tested the battery to make sure it wasn't my alternator. Yes, it was dead as fuck so he took out the old one, put in the new one and offered me the frequently mentioned bottle of water and charged me $107. The whole experience took about 30 minutes. I had to call aaa to get another company to come out and they quickly and without question replaced my "under warranty" battery no questions asked.
