I've been to other Active Culture locations, including the Laguna Beach one, but the San Clemente spot is definitely my favorite. It's way more mellow, spacious, and has plenty of seating without the usual crowd. The food was amazing--the house burrito was huge (I split it and was still full), and the quality was even better than other locations. The Lavender Bloom shake was delicious! My boss introduced me to the Active Culture in Laguna Beach and I fell in love. As a plant eater, I find it very hard to find quality places that don't serve processed vegan food. Active Culture is not only amazing, but everything is fresh. My only complaint is that there are only 2 locations in Orange County, which are not close in proximity to me. My typical order consists of the lentil bowl or the veggie bowl and they never get old. Conclusion: I love this place and would probably eat here everyday if I could. read more

While it is on the healthier side, the menu is limited and overpriced for what you get. Customer service has been a hit or miss recently and you can feel the vibes are off. I have been coming here for years and this place never disappoints. If you are looking for something that will make you feel good after you leave, this is the place for you. The bowls are filled with good ingredient and a very good size for the price. The base of the açaí bowls are the Sabazon Açaí, not blended with anything (that I know of), but the toppings are so good I love these bowls. The frozen yogurt is some of my favorite. It is so creamy and they have great toppings. Usually ice cream/frozen yogurt hurts my stomach, but this place is an exception. Love Active! read more

The guy the was serving plates was so rude when my husband asked us a question about what type of dressing was on the salad. They were also short of table numbers so they were trying to change our order to go when we clearly had a table. I would definitely recommend the San Clemente location as the workers are happy to have their job versus all the grumpy ones at the Laguna location. A $h!t show to say the least. I got the potato tacos (2 for $13.99). Potatoes were seasoned well and slaw was refreshing with good cream sauce. It was lacking a little in cheese so wish there was more of that. The salsa that came with it was solid, wish it was spicier. The tacos were pretty hefty, stuffed with potatoes and slaw~ I couldn't finish the chips on the side! We saw there was frozen yogurt and asked for tester cups and the cashier gave us several to try without hesitation. The fudge, cookies & cream, and tarte were my favorites!! As we were waiting for our food we saw there was hot-sauce and asked the cashier for a to-go container and he gave us two pre packaged hot sauce to-go containers and sparked up a very nice conversation. Lastly, I forgot to ask for my wrap to be cut in half and as he gave it to me I asked for a nice to cut it myself and he offered to do it on his own. A nice go to place for a sweet and cold desert in San Clemente. It is so appealing to know that everything is gluten free and it is so vegetarian friendly with many vegan friendly options as well. My friend and I stopped by Active Culture while on a day drive/trip to San Diego. The shop itself is located on the main strip of the town, so there were quite a number of customers who stopped by..despite the fact that other shops around the area didn't have that many customers at all. So, we were pretty sure that the food was going to be great! During the time when social distancing is needed and stay at home is in order, we decided to stop by Active Culture to fuel up with healthy food..and we were not disappointed. My friend and I each had a bowl and a smoothie. Both options tasted fresh and energizing. I was actually so full from both the drink and the bowl that I ended up having half a bowl as leftover for the next meal. The staff there was friendly and great. They saw us looking at the menu from outside and was kind to tell us that due to the stay at home order, they only had an option of ordering via phone/app and they could bring out the food for us at the curbside/outside of the shop. My friend (and another customer) needed to use the restroom and they were kind enough to let them use it as well. Thank you for a great service and healthy food.
