We used Active Plumbing & Rooters to do copper repipe in the house. Mo was recommended by my wife's coworker, and the price was reasonable compared to other quotes we got. Mo quoted 1 day for the job, and 1 day for inspection. Here's how it went: - When sawing out the garage wall to gain access to the pipes using a reciprocating saw, they sawed through the gap and ended up sawing through the dining room's drywall on the other side. - The way they installed the pipe valves in the bathroom cabinet prevented the drawer from closing properly, so they had to rework it a second time. - The wall texture they used to patch up dry wall did not really match with the surrounding texture. - I had to tell them to apply caulk to at least the top portion of the bathtub faucet face plate. The caulk job looks sloppy because they did not smooth it out with their finger. - Some joints around the water heater had leaks and puddled over night, so that caused some more rework. - He had a can of foam explode in his van and spilled in his car and on my driveway/curb. He only did some scraping to try and clean them off, but it wasn't very successful. Now I have spots of dried foam stains around the curb. What disappointed me most was that at the first inspection, the inspector demanded that we need to show and air pressure test in order to pass. Mo was surprised by this requirement, and I was surprised Mo's reaction to this. For a plumber with years of experience, I would expect him to know this city's requirement beforehand. I verified the requirement just by going to the city's website and checking their plumbing inspection requirements. We had to disconnect the waterlines and perform the air pressure test and schedule another inspection later. Second inspector almost did not pass us because there was already water in the system. Overall the work took almost a week from start to finish. read more

This company is great! I couldn't be more pleased with the service I received from Active Plumbing. These guys are pro! I had a bad gas leak which causes the gas co to turn off my gas. Since the gas rep couldn't find the leak I had to hire professionals to come to handle. They were professional, responsive and exacting - making sure to inform me what was going on through every step. I was very impressed with their technicians because they were very thorough and informative in explaining the problem and providing a gas line re-piping as the solution. Majid is the best kept secret of water heater replacement. we had a great water heater that lasted more than 20+ years and started leaking and wasn't sure if it was a piping issue of the water heater. Majid came that same day , checked it and confirmed the leaking water heater and other issues in the surrounding area. It was hard to manage my work schedule and his availability but he came in the evening and quickly replaced the water heater and charged the best price compared to others. He did a great job in terms of not only replacing the water heater but also putting extra piping / safety feature, putting a new water drip pan below the water tank. A little disappointed in the professionalism & lack of communication of this business. I called last week to have a sink removed at my store. I was told I needed to have an appointment to have it looked at first for a quote. Perfect. Scheduled that appointment and someone came in. Took a look at the sink, gave me a quote, but never scheduled anything with me. They needed to check their schedule to fit me in. I was told I'd get a call the following week- never got one. Yesterday, I called again. Let them know I was told I'd get a call with my appointment date+ time & explained that no one contacted me. I was told I'd expect someone from 9-10am today 10/31/19. It's the afternoon and I go ahead and make another call to check the status. Only to be told that "an emergency" came up and I wouldn't be able to get my service done today. That's perfectly understandable however don't I get some type of courtesy call to be told this?? We call your businesses because we need help with services you specialize in. I would recommend getting a receptionist to help with scheduling and contacting customers-if you do not have one already. This will be very helpful when these "emergencies" occur that way you can let customers know you need to reschedule or cancel on them. read more

I live in a 1960's home which has a funny angled drainage pipe from kitchen sink to outside found when we renovated kitchen in 2000. Plan is to eventually replace the pipe. It got plugged, no water draining out to sewers but back into dishwasher. I called Active Plumbing and Rooters yesterday (they wanted to come same day) but I asked for appt for this morning. Mo was recommended by a neighbor. He had re-piped my neighbor's house and I had a leaking hot water pipe that was under the slab. He had recommended to just have it run through the walls and ceiling which I believe should have been done in the first place. Mo got the permit and crew that did all the work from the plumbing and carpenters. He came in with a crew of 5-7 people and got the whole done in 2 days. After attempting to use a plunger and snake, my wife & I were unsuccessful in unblocking our downstairs toilet, and shortly after determined our upstairs toilet was also backed up. It was around 9pm, when we looked at each other and started wondering if we should cancel a large family dinner, scheduled for the following day. We try our best to fix our house problems with minimal spend, but we had no choice but to call in help for this situation. I was pleasantly surprised that the plumber agreed to come out so late in the evening, and he showed up within 45 minutes, as promised. He brought a power snake with him, and looked confident that it would quickly mitigate the problem - at that point the cost was $250. However, the issue was worse than he had anticipated, and before we knew it, he had brought in some much more powerful machinery. Unfortunately, he needed to remove the toilet, and I'm doing so, he quickly notified that water was remaining in the pipe and the wax seal was broken. He told us that a wax seal lasts about 4 years - good to know. So now we are looking at $450, and I'm starting to wonder how much higher this bill is going to go. Thankfully, the powerful tools worked. It turns out our 3 year old had been throwing wipes down the toilet when we weren't looking - other than that, there were some gnarly tree roots that came through the pipe. He encouraged us to look into doing a pipe clearing from the street side, and quoted us around $1500 - something we will mull over. Overall, I'm more than happy with the service offered. It was exceptionally prompt, the plumber was very friendly, he educated us and also cleaned up after himself. $450 was very reasonable, I thought. We were all smiles in that our party was able to proceed. read more

Called Mo for drain clog issue during weekend and he agreed to come on Sunday. I have old home and has long pipes running and he came-in and knew exactly what is wrong and where he had use the equipment. In about 20 mins, he got it fixed! While time taken was less but that is because he knew what is wrong. (Before calling Mo, I had another plumber look at this and he gave up after 20 mins). THEY DID NOT SHOW UP. I'm giving this place 1 star because of it's un organized business handling's, NOT for any services that it provided but because I never got to use them. I called in a panic on Sunday evening because my bathtub and sink were starting to back up.. I was told that the next day would work and that they would give me a call when they were on their way.. 3:30pm comes around and no call, so I call and am told that in half hour i'll get a call back because they were wrapping up another job but that I was on the list for service. NOTHING till 7:30pm, they call just to tell me that they won't be coming but i'll receive a call the next day to have my plumbing fixed. WTF!!! I told them that was totally unfair of them, I had waited all day with no plumbing and to wait for a call the next day was not right. I thought they were a reputable company here on yelp??? So they finally said 3:30pm would work the next day.. After hanging up I decided that I would look at another company to provide services... A-plus plumbing here on yelp came out within an hour and helped fix my plumbing situation. If you want to be waiting all day for a phone call, just to get FLAKED on use this company.. If you want reliable service then look elsewhere. If your all booked up, then just say so.. Don't take on too much which results in canceling on your clients. read more

After some trouble shooting & discovering it was more expensive to fix, i decided to purchase new one. Although he carried another model with him, i decided to get Rheem from HOme depot. I had a leak at my house very early on a Saturday morning, and Moe came out and fixed the leak within 45 minutes. He then replumbed a shutoff valve from a very tight space next to the house (which took a great deal of work in a very small space) so that we could reach it, and on top of that replaced a broken faucet and disconnected a water softener system and fixed the pipes relating to that. Just finally realized our water heater needed some attention last week. Fumbled around looking for a plumber. Found some steller reveiws for Mo and decided to give him a call. First he was timely. Actually was available same day but because I was not available he came the next morning. Second presented all options. We first tried to flush water heater then explored the outlet. All fill with sludge. No other option left but to replace. Third fast work. Mo and employee returned in a timely manner with new water heater. Removed and hauled old one away also. All done by 1:30pm. Mind you I also said we should break for lunch. I am guess he stopped to get the employee and water heater and I stopped for lunch but that being said it was quick! He also checked out all of our faucets for leaks (at our request) and even took an professional eye to the kitchen faucet. It is really shaky. Recommended replacing whole unit. As for the other faucet he graciously looked at we are hoping it doesn't leak anymore. If not he suggested a call back and he will replace the under unit. I also keep shoe booties around for work like this. No problem Mo removed his shoes. Nice little tid bit there. As for pricing I felt that it was fair for all the work done. Definitely five stars!!! Mo and his crew did an excellent job fixing the water leak at my house today. Prior to this job, I didn't have any clue on who to contact for the plumbing job. Let me start by saying i interviewed 5 great plumbing companies serving the Fremont area. Everyone wanted to introduce fears, and describe the problem more difficult than what it was. They all kept on saying that we have to repipe the entire house, and the cost was going to be in the range of $6000+ . Majid explained the problem, and said that the problem was downstairs, and the upstairs pipe looks good, so we have to ideally repipe only the problem area. That stuck chord in my ears, and made sense. My only suggestion to everyone, call Majid so he can give you a truthful problem evaluation. Active Plumbing ran into problems during the repipe, the manifolds for the upstairs area were more than they had anticipated. In addition, some of the valves were broken, and he took care of all these challenges without adding any extra charges to the cost. He made sure all the promised work was done to our satisfaction - close all the sheet rock areas and put texture and paint on the walls. Summarizing, the work was completed in time , and we have been happy customer. His work, and his professionalism at work has made me converted from my regular plumber to him. I had three toilets that i need looked at and explained what I thought was wrong with each of them. They gave me an estimate which quite frankly was so much better then a lot of these other plumbers that I had to go with them. Mohammed got here promptly at the sceduled time, took care of my toilets (for the original estimate) and even gave me tips on how I could repair some of the parts of the toilet myself, for just a couple bucks from home depot.
