We had an issue where the water from our main shower was not turning off. I called plumbers on yelp I had used before and they all said they would not or could not come out after explaining the problem to them. The only person that bothered to come and take a look was Moe from Active Plumbing. He knew the problem and said he could get the whole job done in a few hours. That was big since I have children and didnt want to be out of a shower for multiple days. Moe and his crew came and fixed the problem in a professional manner. He had to replace some very old parts with more modern parts. They custom made the piping with a flame torch and some re-engineering. And it took them maybe 2 hours at most to do the whole job. We got in touch with Majid for the installation of a water filter system after reading all the good reviews on Yelp. Majid was courteous and professional in our message exchange here and we arranged for him to come out to our house to do the installation. To our dismay, on the day of the installation, we found out that Aquasana had sent us an incorrect tank! We called Aquasana's customer service and the rep told us we could just use the smaller sized tank anyway and it would work the same. Majid disagreed and advised us against it. We decided to trust his expertise, and I'm glad we did! I think we would've regretted having two mismatched tanks in be garage long term. Due to this problem, we had to reschedule the installation. We felt so bad for wasting Majid's time but he was super gracious about it. He waited around while we were on the call with Aquasana and never once showed any sign of impatience. We had to pay Majid for his time of course, but luckily Aquasana agreed to reimburse us for it since it was their mistake. We finally did get the job done by Majid a couple of weeks later. He was fast, efficient, and as far as we can tell, did a great job! We did have a small leak at the joint of the UV filter but he came out to fix it one day at no charge and we haven't had a problem since. The whole system is huge but Majid did a good job keeping the area neat and clean. I would totally go back to Majid for any future plumbing needs. read more

I needed an under sink water filter system installed which required a hole drilled through a granite countertop to install a faucet. Many of the plumbers (through Yelp) I called said that they didn't do drilling, and the ones that did quoted figures in the range of $400 - $650. Then I contacted Majid, the owner of Active Plumbing And Water Heaters. He was responsive, courteous and gave me a specific quote which was far lower than any of the other quotes. We set up a time for him to come do the job. On the day of, he stayed in contact with me, arrived on schedule and completed the job efficiently and with minimum fuss. We had a late night emergency and Mo came out quite quickly to check it out (we live right down the street). The next day they were able to sort out the issue and had installed an access point in our yard. The main problem came in what happened after we paid them. They didn't pack down the dirt around the new access point and so after the rains it settled to where the lid wouldn't close. We basically had an open sewer in our front yard. I called Mo and he said no problem and they'd come fix it the next day for free, which was great to hear. However several weeks later they still didn't come. I called again and he said the same thing. 3 calls and several months later it was clear we were just receiving the brush off. read more

Our main sewer line in the crawl space has been leaking without our awareness for a long time. When we found out, it has become a big water puddle and had a bad sewer gas smell from inside the house. Mo responded immediately in late hours and came out the morning next day on time. The sewer lines are under the water puddle. Mo is very experienced and was able to diagnose that the issue is a connection leak from kitchen drain line. And recommended main sewer line replacement from cast iron to ABS. Another company I called can not diagnose the issue unless the water is removed first. I am very glad Mo pinpoint the issue. We still get to use our bath rooms since only kitchen drain line is needed to be taken off duty. Mo completed the project in two days. His quote was competitive. He has been enthusiastically answering my questions. He helped me check with the camera the other part of main sewer line leading to street. Majid diagnosed and fixed my problem after about 1 hour. He identified the issue was with an earthquake shut off valve that improperly engaged. He has all the tools in his van. Majid and his colleague Saied did an excellent job installing our new kitchen faucet and water filter faucet, removing our disposal and removing the blockage in our kitchen drain, doing a thorough job snaking the system beyond the kitchen plumbing to be sure it was clear. They were friendly and professional, came promptly within the time frame scheduled for both visits, gave us fair quotes and honored them. I really appreciated Majid's analysis of our plumbing situation and how well he communicates what's going on, where he sees the root of the problems, and what our options are. When unexpected challenges came up, such as requiring different connectors, Majid and Saied were efficient and flexible in working around these. I am a stickler for finding businesses that are reputable. I started on Craigslist and actually found Active Plumbing there first. I decided to check into the license and found the business at the California State License Board -- check. Yelp here I come to see if the business was there -- check check. I called and Mo promptly answered the phone after 3 rings. After listening to my description of what I needed, a replacement of the shutoff valve at the front of the house, he asked a few questions that confirmed to me he knew what he was talking about. I had previously asked another plumbing business for a quote and they had prepped me for questions to ask. I spoke with Mo and within about 30 minutes he came to the house. Mo had another one of his team members with him to do the job as well. Within about 30-45 minutes the old valve was off and the new valve was on. Mo kept me informed about the process he was doing which taught me a lot. So here are my impressions: - Mo has been in the plumbing business with his uncles and several members of his family for a while (over 40+ years according to our conversation). - In talking with Mo he had worked for a Plumbing Company previously and started his own business later on. In all honesty he was quick about his work like he has been doing this for a while. - Mo was very easy to talk with and was very polite in directing me on what I needed to do (turn on / off faucets etc) In the future I would at the very minimum give Mo a call to get a quote on the work. Matter of fact -- Mo was #2 on my list of quotes and he got the job. It pays to call around. Next time -- Mo will be #1 on my list. Nice job Mo! read more

If I could give more stars, I would. I was referred to Active Plumbing by a friend of mine that had work done by Active Plumbing. I called Active Plumbing after my mother's bath tub and shower backed up. They came and immediately identified the problem --- the main pipe was damaged. Not only did they repair the main pipe, they also repaired the my mother's kitchen and bathroom sinks. Active Plumbing did an excellent job. Very professional, very ethical -- they even gave you the defective part to show what work was done, very friendly and quick! Active Plumbing's price was very reasonable! We had a blockage in our main sewer line. The plumbing company I had worked with for several years could not diagnose or fix the problem for over a week. They said I needed to replace the entire sewer line at a cost of $10,000 and that they could send someone only on Monday (this was on a Friday! I didn't want to wait through the weekend, so I called Mo at Active Plumbing who arrived within an hour. Right away, they used a camera and located the source of the blockage. I was pleasantly surprised to find out the pipes were actually ABS and we did not need to replace them. All we needed was to add a clean out to clear the blockage. I was able to observe the entire length of the sewer line on the camera. Mo and Syed fixed the problem by the end of the day for a very reasonable cost. Better yet, any future clogs can be cleared very easily from the new clean out. Thank you Mo! read more

We live in Fremont and these are the guys to call. I generally rent the snake and do the job myself but I work from home and was to busy this morning. They returned our call promptly, they showed up within about an hour, their equipment was top notch, and Mo was super friendly. They had the line cleared very quickly. Best part is they cost just a little more than I pay to rent the 100' snake. Something I really appreciated was they cut through the root and pulled a lot out. I've seen plumbers just drill through the root ball with the spade attachment so the line works. But that solution doesn't last long which is why I usually do it myself. I'm not sure I'll be doing this job again as long as these guys are around. read more

He had to level the tanks as my garage floor was sloped. Mo is a great guy, who is super responsive. I called him to tell him I needed some help with leaking laundry lines, and possible a leaking washing machine and he came to our place in about an hour and a half. I had new vanity top installed at my house. The house drain pipe was not flexible and did not allow the new sink drain to come down to a different position, and any standard p trap would not align with the new undermount sink. And a shower with an old Kohler fixture would give cold water only. I called Majid in the evening.
