She was friendly, knowledgeable, and walked me through every detail of the MTE XC shoe from the breathable mesh to the grippy sole and smart lacing system that's easy to adjust even when wet. Thanks for wasting my time, what is with all these Rancho businesses lately who don't care about providing good service? Last night I was in the store looking at some complete skateboards, but I couldn't get in depth because it's going to be a present for my son's birthday and he was with me. Today I went back alone with the intention of buying a board, either a complete or building a custom out of parts in the case, but they told me they couldn't even let me touch one of the boards for loss prevention reasons. I'm a middle age, dude wearing Dad shoes. Give me a freaking break. I want to scrutinize on the completes what trucks they use, what wheels they used, what bearings they used so I need to be able to look at it up close, so I have to have some employee hold the board for me to look through the details? Okay this review has been a long time coming! After leaving this store, I ALWAYS say I need to write a review. Well here it is! This is the friendliest store ever! They are always so helpful! Most recent visit was on Halloween! Instead of being grumpy like at other stores (employees not wanting to work on Halloween) they were so helpful, friendly and accommodating! Helping us find exactly what we were looking for and more! I've gone before with my 4 yr old and the patience was incredible! My 4 yr old is very picky and sassy! It would be zero. I have a gift card and since I was at the rite aid next door. I went inside to see what they had available. After I told the guy (i didnt get his name but he was definitely feminine. Which isnt a bother.) But he was very rude after I said I was only looking he walk over to his co-workers and said I didn't have any money as a joke and they laughed. In the store today to do an exchange return. Usually go-to is Montclair but didn't want to deal with mall and I remembered this place and I'm so glad I did. Customer service here compared to Montclair night and day. Walked in and greeted immediately. Let them know I was here to do an exchange/return. They asked if I wanted them to hold my return for me while I looked. I said sure. The guy on the floor (didn't get his name) asked if I knew my size. Gave him my size he went to check for model I was looking at. They didn't have my size. But I asked for same model in different color (any color) so I can verify fit. He brought back 2 samples. no questions no attitude. I verified my fit then went back to the counter. Risa helped me there. I told her I wanted to return the pair I brought in that they were holding but that the store didn't have my size in what I wanted. She said she can see if they have my size online. I said it was fine, I can order online, unless they work commission, then she can check. She said they didn't work commission but that she's here to help regardless (wait what?!??). This is so uncommon these days, I took her up on her offer. She was very nice. Went through the whole transaction with me. And even printed a paper receipt for the online order on 8x11 regular paper to give me. Great customer service these days is hard to find. I took my son in on Friday to buy his first skateboard. He was spending his own money, and he wanted a cool board, but I didn't want him to go broke. We were very lucky that Adrian was in the store. I could tell he was about to get off for the day, but he took his time and helped my son to pick out the perfect parts. He then offered to build his board even though he had already made the sale, and he did such a good job. I have always shopped at this store because it's close to my house, and the employees are always nice, but Adrian was exceptional, and I really appreciate that there is someone in the store that is as knowledgeable as he is about what he is selling. Today I went in to do some Christmas shopping thinking it would be fast and easy. Quite the opposite. The first girl to help me, Alex, had the worst attitude one can have. She made me feel like I was disrupting her day or something... the next girl, Myra, same thing. She couldn't answer any of my questions and left me straggling. After 1 hour of shopping in this tiny store without any clear assistance from these 2 girls - I was finally helped by 2 awesome guys Eric and Michael. Really not in love with this store anymore and ordering Vans online you could get a second that's slightly smaller so that wasn't good. Called today and spoke with a kid that sounded like he had a mouth full of marbles, really ridiculous that he's allowed to answer the phone but hey isn't that the times in which we live? No sale for Labor Day but I will get a free T-Shirt that I don't want and hey shoes are 10 dollars more each pair, with tax I'm saying $130 and something just said no. These are made in China and the quality sucks, my white pair tore around the shoe string hole. Not worth the money. But Amazon has minimalist canvas sneakers in my size, they come in wide and are 21 bucks cheaper a pair and I'm not looking for a parking space on a 106 degrees day, dealing with someone that doesn't really know what there doing. I love this little Vans store in the Vons and Chase shopping center. This is my to go store when me and my daughter physically need to try on the shoes to make sure we get the right sizes. Today I came in looking for shoes for my daughter. The sales associate Lisa Marie greeted me as I walked in, she asked if there was anything specific I was looking for. I let her know the size and shoe style I needed and she grabbed from the back. While I was helping my daughter to try on the shoes, Lisa Marie started to make conversation about how kids outgrow sizes quick and I let her know that someone had gifted me some Vans for my child but unfortunately they didn't fit and I didn't have a receipt. She told me to go ahead and bring the shoes in and I could do an even exchange for bigger sizes. I was completely amazed at her costumer service because she offered me a solution and I was able to get two pairs of shoes for my daughter plus I even got a pair of shoes for myself! I came here because Tilly's Upland was not able to get the Marvel Vans high tops I wanted on their website and my size was not in their store. The cashier at the front greeted me while also checking a customer out (I love this!) and he was able to tell me right away that they would have the women's size I needed, if not in store, then definitely online. The shoe attendant whose name I forget was very friendly and she got me my size quickly while also helping other people. Both employees were very personable and quick to serve. The male cashier (my receipt says "Victor") explained to me it had been hectic with taking time off and a shortage of employees, yet both employees whom I came into contact with excelled with smooth customer service. Horrible customer service. Went in 4 or 5 employees were chit chatting near the counter. After a few minutes they asked from across the room, if I needed any help, I said yes and asked if they had specific items, they just waved there hands saying "they're somewhere over there". Again as I looked and didn't find anything and looked lost, i asked if I can just get one of them to just help me out. I finally got a guy to help me. THERE ARE 4 OR 5 OF YOU, WHAT ARE YOU GETTING PAID TO DO. The place was empty, I was the only one in there. I text my husband while in there and told him, these people are horrible. I've been to this location two times and both times with different staff members, have been great experiences. I have three kids and sometimes it can be a time consuming process just to buy shoes, but this location simplified both of my experiences. I will always choose to come to this location over the Victoria Gardens. They offer better customer service, and seem to hire better employees. read more

My neighborhood Vans store, it's clean and usually stocked well with the basics. You might have a hard time getting limited editions but that should be expected. This vans is my favorite location to visit because it's not in a loud and crowded mall. the last time i was here an employee named "Manuel" helped me pick out the correct shoes in the correct size. All her ratings on here are bad, AND all others who have reviewed this business seem to agree with me, the customer service here is AMAZING. Anyway, I shop at this particular location because of its outstanding customer service, especially the tall guy, i believe his name is Victor.
