I bought a used 2017 Mercedes-Benz C63 S AMG from Acura North Scottsdale in September 2025, and it came with a third-party ACPO warranty they sold me as comprehensive powertrain coverage. The sales process was smooth, but three months later, the engine catastrophically failed due to a fractured spark plug damaging internal parts (pistons, cylinders). The repair estimate at Mercedes-Benz of Arrowhead is over $75,000. The warranty denied the claim under a fine-print exclusion (#16: "covered part damaged by non-covered part"), which was never clearly explained during financing. It felt like a bait-and-switch-- they emphasized engine protection but didn't highlight how easily it could be voided. When I contacted the dealership for help, they passed the buck to the warranty company and couldn't assist due to privacy policies, leaving me stuck with an undrivable car. I've escalated to the Arizona Attorney General, BBB, and Mercedes-Benz USA Executive Referral, but the lack of support from Acura North Scottsdale has been frustrating. What a wonderful dealership and fantastic services techs and advisors. Not even realizing it was Good Friday my rear view mirror fell off the windshield. The issue was it was still attached to the headliner by wires so it was moving around as I drove and smashing into the windshield. I contacted Summer Haring (my service advisor) for 22 years and she said to drive right over and it can be fixed in less than 30 minutes and that I should use painters tape to hold it in place temporarily. I was fortunate enough to meet Tom Pederson (a Super Service Tech) Tom dropped every and took the car into the shop after he explained what need to happen to fix the problem. Within an hour or so on Good Friday late afternoon Tom had fixed the problem and explained what he did. The Penske Staff at Acura North Scottsdale are truly the best in the business. I had a very disappointing experience with Paul at this dealership. I called ahead and made it clear that I was not interested in the black Type S, but was willing to wait for the right color. Paul told me they would need to "run the numbers" before a test drive, and I explained I wasn't interested in doing that on the black model. Despite this, he encouraged me to come by before 4:45 with the implication that he would work with his manager, so I drove 35 minutes to the dealership. Once there, Paul made a dismissive remark: "This is a performance vehicle." The way it was said strongly implied that I didn't need or couldn't handle it, which carried clear sexist undertones. Later in the conversation, he also stated, "We don't negotiate on these cars," even though I had never asked about negotiating. At no point did he ask for my information, my budget, or how I planned to pay. I was prepared to pay in cash, yet he never gave me the opportunity to even discuss it. Instead, the entire interaction felt as though he was more interested in talking me out of buying the car than helping me purchase one. To be clear, I understand and respect the dealership's policy regarding test drives on new vehicles. That was never the issue. The issue was the way Paul treated me throughout the process, which came across as misleading, dismissive, and unprofessional. A direct "no" on the phone would have saved significant time and avoided the impression that I was being socioeconomically profiled and underestimated based on gender. read more

Acura North Scottsdale - Trade in - Car Dealers Near Me - Phoenix, Arizona

The dealership is one of the worst in Arizona. Case in point: a four-hour wait to have a 47 minute "B" warranty service (oil/filter change, and inspections) -- and they give me this inspection report that claims my tires need replacing; the battery is bad and should be replaced, etc, etc. I took the vehicle to Costco, where I'd had new tires put on just months before: wheel alignment is good, and the tires are in excellent condition (17k miles on 80k mile tires); techs at O'Reilly Auto Parts claim that my 8 month old premium battery tests very good... no replacement necessary. My vehicle should have been done by 10:45 AM: at 2:00, my service rep went to check on the vehicle. I wast told that they've just finished it, so I pay the bill and go outside to wait for the vehicle. When the vehicle was driven out, there was a significant clatter. I had the mechanic open the hood, and find all the parts of the air filter assembly laying in the engine compartment, unassembled.. just piled up in the right rear corner. The air filter isn't even installed, more than half of the fasteners are missing. The dealer wants to charge me for them, but I insist that they tell me where the other reusable fasteners are. What took so long? What was occupying their time? I have a fairly good idea. Arriving home, I put back everything removed from the vehicle (Dealer: ""We are not responsible for lost items"), then discover the heavy steel gun safe hidden behind the second row of seats in the MDX has been opened. There's no doubt about this, as -- before driving to the dealership --I removed the firearm then set the 3-digit tumbler to 0-0-0 to lock it. When I found it, the combination was set to the correct code then opened -- and left open. It is estimated that someone trying to open the lock by trying the numbers 0-0-1, 0-0-2... would likely be able to input 5-6 numbers per minute, and in this case, the task would consume 110-130 minutes, the better part of two hours, most of the time I spent waiting for my missing car. What astounds me, after being given this multi-page inspection report, is what they missed: there was some wear in the front-end steering and suspension, and there being no mention of it in their inspection report, I had no idea that maintenance was required. By the time of the next service interval, their negligence cost me $3900+ in repairs -- and it is very evident that the problem SHOULD have been seen and reported. I did check the engine oil and found that they'd over-filled the oil by almost a quart (fluid-level checked an hour after engine shutdown). Why were they in such a hurry? Perhaps instead of finding the combination to my empty gun safe, they might have done a complete service of the vehicle -- including putting the right amount of oil in the engine, replacing the air filter element and re-assembling the air filter assembly... and doing a competent inspection of the vehicle. [SAE inspectors ripped their performance badly.] The gun safe? It was carefully-hidden, covered by a Duluth seat cover which I use to protect the floor when hauling stuff in the back of my MDX; there were a number of items out on top of the cover -- including sun shields, tire covers, a canvas container of vehicle cleaning and maintenance supplies, and a large rubber mat used to prevent that portion of the vehicle from being damaged or getting wet. The gun safe was found ONLY after a deliberate and determined search. Frankly, I have wanted to replace the 6 year-old MDX with a newer vehicle, and despite numerous design flaws of the MDX, wanted to get a 2023 or 2024 vehicle. As two of the Phoenix area Acura dealers have hundreds of unresolved BBB complaints filed against them, I'm not purchasing an Acura. Last straw: when inspecting the air filter assembly at home after the Acura service visit, I dropped my flashlight -- and as a result observed that the oil filter isn't what usually is used by the dealerships. I had it removed at a Goodyear auto care facility -- and, watching its removal, found that it was a "ACDelco PF2057 Oil Filter" -- not the "Genuine Honda (or Acura) parts" we're charged for by Acura dealers. Give them a chance to make it right? If I may be direct, I'm tired of their glib, empty, insincere promises. Honda of America wasn't very interested in my report: I was so incensed by their behavior and performance that I wrote to Toshihiro Mibe, President and CEO of Honda in Minato, Tokyo (I speak passable Japanese)... but my letter has not elicited a response, other than an email which reported that "Honda dealers are franchises, and, as such, are not supervised or controlled by Honda." read more

I have purchased roughly 25 vehicles over the last ~14 years and my recent interaction with Jackson Oates at Acura North Scottsdale might be the best experience of them all. I drove up from S Chandler on Friday late afternoon, no appointment, etc. It was relatively busy, we connected briefly and once things settled down started chatting about the 2025 MDX, the leftover 2024s and our mutual interest in a variety of vehicles. This has to be one of the easiest car buying deals I've done!! Working with sales rep Ray Ryan & the finance manager Matthew Heims was a seamless process. The only thing I say is when it's month end be ready to make a deal with these folks because they are willing and ready to do deals!! The process began when my Honda lease was expiring and my first stop was to go back to my favorite Honda dealership in Tempe but the 2020 and 2021 Honda models did not appeal to me. So I was referred to this Acura dealership and it was a good referral! I called and I was connected with my sales rep Ray Ryan and I explained to him what I was looking for, what the situation was with my Honda and Ray Ryan got to work and had a car waiting for me. Although the first car that Ray had waiting for me was not the one but the second car that Ray and Matthew showed me was it! I did the application online and when I came in all I had to do was sign the papers. Let me say this dealership it's clean and follows CDC guidelines which is very important to me. when entering the finance area I worked with James Brown who sterilized his office before I entered as well as the chair and electrionic pen I would be using. I had a horrible experience buying my car yesterday. Let me say first, Paul was great but when it was time to actually pay for the vehicle.... I was trading in my Lexus that I had financed with a credit union. The credit union handles their deals internally so they sent me with a check that was only $100 being they handle their loans internally and the trade for my Lexus was over the amount of the car I was purchasing. Mind you, I had already reserved a car that was just taking a little longer than I wanted and when I reserved that car, they had known I was going to go with my credit union for the new one. I was told they refuse to take my check from the credit union after speaking to a representative from my credit union that explained everything to them. I was told to do a backup application which was a credit app with Acura. I constantly said no and I told them I just want my Lexus back. There is so much more that happened but just know I was bright red in the face and was not happy when I left. If other dealerships weren't doing the market adjustment, I would have went elsewhere. I drove over 30 minutes for horrible treatment. I will never buy from this establishment again and will not refer anyone. Also, your car comes with a full tank of gas right? Isn't that was is even stated on the car detail sheet that you get? The Acura that I finally was able to get, did not. read more

Classic car salesmen, in the worst way possible. I was sold a vehicle with a dead battery. The car literally would not start the next morning when I went to go drive it. (Talk about a nightmare, esp since this was a new vehicle I was buying after being rear-ended on the highway). Wish I had listened to the negative reviews on yelp...but there were enough good ones I thought maybe the negative ones were a fluke? ... Nope, they're not. In person/on the lot, the rep Don was super nice and promised to reimburse me if I had to buy a new battery. It seems like were aware there might be long-term issues, but reassured me it was just the AZ heat and if the battery did give out, they'd cover the cost. Well, after emailing a receipt + 5-6 calls + multiple emails over four months (to the rep, his boss - who seemed to care even less, and then their Penske headquarters finance department, which is where the rep directed me - where no one responded), I'm resigned to the fact that I had a shitty buying experience and simply want to let others know. They might be helpful here during the buying process, but definitely don't count on anyone giving you the time of day if there are any issues after they get your money. I dropped $35k on a car, and then was left to arrange roadside assistance, replace a car battery, and cover it all on my own. No integrity here - they basically lied to my face about problems with the car they knew about! read more

We waited 2-1/2 hours for A1 service, a simple oil change and multi-point inspection. Unacceptable. More dangerous was the fact that 2 weeks later -- we observed leaking transmission fluid after 2 trips to the high country. Turns out that the technician DID NOT PUT THE DISPSTICK BACK IN and the car was spattering trans fluid everywhere. We spoke to the service manager, Jason Suhs, and asked that he retrain everyone in what should be higher quality service processes appropriate to Acura standards. We would want it stated in our repair records that if we experience transmission problems in the future that they will be fixed at no charge to us. read more

I have never been to a more unprofessional dealership. Acura of North Scottsdale and the Manager Matthew win that title! I have never felt so disrespected in my life! I was shopping for an Acura RDX and found a perfect RDX. I went to your dealership and worked with Paul (who was amazing). Well, things went South after trying to trade my car in. I respect that they could not offer me much on it at 10k, which I told them I would go sell it to Toyota, as they offered 14k. Unfortunately, it took longer than expected and I called to see if the vehicle was there. The salesman Chris would not even tell me if it was there and said I had to talk to Paul... I asked for a manager who confirmed it was there and said he would put it on the side until I get there. The dealership I sold my car to took longer than expected and I could not make it to North Scottsdale in time. So, I reached out and expressed this. I specifically stated I would be in at 11am Sunday to get the RDX I loved and it was acknowledged. I woke up the next morning and bought an Uber all the way from Deer Valley to North Scottsdale. I even sent an email, which was acknowledged before the dealership opened. No one said the car was gone. I only received a, "Sounds good, see you soon." response... I was super excited and ready to buy this car. I was even given a credit application (wasting more time). About 30 minutes later I was told the vehicle had been sold and I refused it. I was livid and asked to speak with a manager. Matt walks over and seemingly didn't care based upon his tone. He was very dismissive that I was upset and concerned about the communication issues. He didn't even offer to look at other cars, he just said, "I'll for your Lyft back home." The salesman Paul is the only reason I looked at a more expensive car if the same model, but with a tech package. Matthew again, only communicated through Paul and refused to acknowledge us to explain his rationale for not working a deal. This is unacceptable, as I wasted my time the day before and the current day in your dealership. I sold my car, because I had faith I could get the other vehicle. No one told me the day prior when I could not get there that the vehicle would be only on hold until the end of the shift. I thought because I reached out before they closed and said I would be there first thing the next day, they would wait and allow me to buy it. I am disgusted by Matthew's behavior and lack of empathy. It's like he does not care about anything besides making a sale. I am not ok with this treatment and feedback needs to be provided to the owner of the location. Even another couple there expressed concerns because no one acknowledged them or offered to help. They said it use to be better, but the new managers are not the best. They left as I should of at that point as well. I contacted another Acura and they were super attentive on the phone. No attitude and no rudeness. If this is how Penske Automall does business, I will NEVER shop at any of your stores and I will share this negative experience wherever I go. Everyone needs to know and I know a lot of people around the valley. I am without a vehicle at this point and very frustrated with your dealership. I was diagnosed with congestive heart failure and spent 8 days in the hospital recently. After being a bit down for a few weeks, I was actually excited and felt better because I was joining the Acura family. Little did I know I would be stressed out from this situation and disrespected. It was very hot and we were not given water. I went to Acura of Peoria and drove home in a 2024 Integra A Spec in less than 3 hours. Horrible salesman!!!! Named Michael worst salesman ever very rude and cocky!!! Acted like he knew everything when he didn't we actually knew a lot more about the car. He kept telling us how many cars he sold like who cares he also tried telling us that he has been in sales for 25 plus years which clearly he hasn't and that you could definitely tell that he wasn't that old. Also told us that there ceramic coating is a paste and the best ha it's not a paste it's a liquid which we knew that he kept calling us liars um we owned a detail business in ND we know way more about it. He also was bashing other automakers saying oh Acura is so much better than other automakers. Worst experience ever! My mom was trying to get a new car from this dealership as well as me a new car as she dealt with Bailey H. and Trevor Guy. From what she told me before I thought they would help her. After coming home today I saw her very sad and upset. When I asked her why she said Trevor the finance manager sent her an email saying they no longer wants to assist us. I hope this is not a racial thing because how can you have an approval one day and then all communication stops when you are headed out to get a car. They met my dad yesterday and who know's if they saw him and started treating my mom bad. Doesn't make sense to hurt someone who really wanted to purchase. I've purchased other cars (and had them serviced) by the North Scottsdale Penske dealerships and have had great experiences. My daughter was looking to purchase her first new vehicle and wanted to look at an Acura. We showed up about an hour prior to closing and the salesperson did a good job on the demo and test drive. She decided that she wanted a vehicle/color combination that wasn't on their lot, and was told that they had "special access" to inventory but couldn't look until we had fully agreed to a deal. So they presented their deal terms, and as with almost all dealers, had loaded in a ton of Crap Package add-ons with high prices, low cost to the dealer and NO value to the buyer. No problem, we'll just negotiate that away ... except, there was no effort to engage in any meaningful negotiation by the dealer. No effort to lift a finger to try and sharpen numbers, look at other local inventory, or anything else. The salesman simply wanted to get out of their. So we let him. We went home, and in less than 5 minutes had found the car she wanted in new condition at 3 Arizona dealers, and pre-owned at several in California and Nevada. The next day she went to Acura of Tempe and was quickly able to negotiate a fair deal, get the value she wanted and needed from their Pro-Pack (they actually include things of value to the customer), and complete the entire process in less than 90 minutes with none of the arrogance and dismissiveness. This is what service from a luxury car brand is like?? I felt like I was just a bother talking to anybody in this place even though it was literally empty and all time slots were open. I pull up to where service is and after waiting a couple minutes. I turn off my car and go on my way in to see if anyone could help me. To be only told to move my car up even though there was plenty of room if anybody came in. Workers were unclear with what they were saying and nobody was friendly at all. Just snotty. The woman who was checking me in and going over whats gunna be done to my car was being so short and I had to ask so many questions just to be clear. Even after the service I had to ask so many questions that Nissan would have gone over without question. Nissan dealership is wayyyy better and i wish i could go there to service my car cause they actually have friendly people working with them and they make sure all bases are covered. Also couldnt help but notice that all the workers were being so friendly and energetic to other customers that looked different from me coming in. Complete opposite of how i was treated. I was even asked "Is this your first Acura?" in a bad tone when i was asking questions about the car. Clearly to be nosy and see if "poor me" has had a luxury car before. In what she was asking that had nothing do with what car I was in before (which was another acura) she was asking about the oil in my car. So how does knowing if this is my first acura help your question about my current cars oil?? I didnt hear anybody else coming in being asked that. But of course they looked different than me. I just bought my second car from Acura North Scottsdale and felt compelled to write them a rave review. This dealership operates like no other I've ever been in contact with. I flat-out refuse to spend time in a dealership (especially now that we are wearing masks all the time) haggling about prices of vehicles. I'm unwilling to make my child sit through it and I'm unwilling to pay a babysitter while I'm haggling about prices. I've been searching for a newer car for a good six months or so because I was rear-ended in the Honda I bought from Acura North Scottsdale back in 2016. I've emailed probably 60%+ of dealerships in the Phoenix area (and a few in other cities and states if I REALLY liked the car), and Acura North Scottsdale is just a completely different experience. I found a certified preowned Acura I was really into when searching for cars and was absolutely thrilled when I saw it was at this dealership. They are willing to discuss the vehicles via email; there is never pressure to come in and see the vehicle and then talk price. They're up-front and will give you all the options you can add or take away to adjust the price of the vehicle. This is ENORMOUSLY helpful for someone who has almost no free time and absolutely no patience for games. My sales rep, Brandon Lee, and I came to an agreement on a price I could live with for my car, and I scheduled an appointment to go see it. The test drive was hassle-free (a real gem in the days of COVID!) and Brandon was pleasant, not pressuring me ONE BIT! I emailed him later and told him I'd like to buy the car, and he walked me through the process with (I'm sorry I keep repeating this, but I can't emphasize it enough) no pressure. It was almost a week between the test drive and me signing papers, so the lack of pressure and harassment was great. He followed up via email after I took delivery of the car, and so did his GM. The experience was very similar to the one I had when I bought my Civic there in 2016 from a girl named Kelly. And I've emailed Acura North Scottsdale now and again about cars I've been interested in, and even when we couldn't agree on a deal, they've always been (say it with me) pressure-free and treated me like a human being instead of a commission check. My experiences with their staff have been consistently positive, and in the throes of car buying, that is HUUUUUUUGE. My sister is looking for a new car and I did a search for her to meet her criteria and there is one sitting at Acura North Scottsdale, so I sent her the link and told her it was the dealership I'd been raving about all weekend. I'll be referring everyone who needs a car to Acura North Scottsdale.
