I had never been in an Adagio Teas shop until just recently. I'll admit, I was a bit underwhelmed - not by the quantity of tea items they have, but rather - the quality of the products. I left empty handed this time - as even the way the store is set up feels cluttered and overstimulating. What a great place. I was just wondering about the streets when I found this place. Since giving up coffee, tea has been my drink, all sorts of teas. I was delighted to find a place with all different sorts of tea varieties: green, black, herbal. You name it. I came here while visiting some friends after checking out their website online because they normally offer private tea tastings, but I believe they are not currently offered due to the pandemic. Would have loved to try that, but it's understandable. Not only is the selection in this shop VAST but they are almost exclusively loose teas, which is incredible. There is such a wide variety of teas available it can honestly be a bit overwhelming if you don't come in with a mission. However, they do offer many different variety packs of ~4 teas with different themes ranging from different world regions, types of tea, holiday specials, ~vibes~, and even zodiac gift boxes. You will definitely be able to find something you like here. Not sure if you're ready to take a tea home? They allow you to smell the teas (in the boxes above each tea on the shelf) as well as order a cup (hot or iced) of any tea in the shop to go. The staff are also very knowledgeable and happy to help you choose! In addition to the tea itself, they have plenty of great tea accessories like tea sets, thermos, and even a shelf with fresh spices on offer. Stopped in here for a quick moment and was not expecting the expansive selection of teas! I ended up finding a sweet black tea that was DECAF!!! (Finding decaf black tea beyond English Breakfast has been difficult for me). The woman who helped us was incredible, and very kind. So thankful to have found this place. My work mornings are so much nicer with the decaf vanilla tea replacing the hotel-stashes of English breakfast I've been having *Side note: if you enjoy milk in your tea, you'll have to bring your own. Awesome tea store with an awesome selection of gifts at a great price. Two things for me really set Adagio apart from other tea stores. First, they offer many decorative tins and boxes of a wide variety of interests (season based themes, city based themes, astrological signs, tv shows, comics, etc.). Second, they have tons of different tea blends in addition to the normal selection of high quality loose leaf teas. Was disappointed when I tried to peel off the price tag and saw that the box I got is likely a year old since it was marked down at one point and now it's full price again. I am not an avid tea drinker. Let me start by saying that. I frequented this business on the morning of Tuesday, December 15th. The sales associate working was very helpful and seemed to be welcoming and offering her assistance to all that were shopping there that day. Being new, I was more interested in just browsing but did buy a box of the throat tea per a friend's recommendation. When I got home, I noticed that there were also two samples in my bag. My wife & I came across the Adaigo Tea store almost by accident. I was a Tevana tea drinker, but this store makes far better varieties of tea where you have the advantage of not only sniffing but tasting their freshly brewed teas. I loved their setup where you can pick a tea and they will gladly brew a small sample cup. The staff is very friendly & helpful. After my initial review, I was contacted in short order by the home office, who regretted my experience and wanted to improve both my impression and their service (especially since they had just opened). They actually asked me to return and "secret shop" for them. I'm glad to say that I can only say good things about my return trip. I was helped by Julie, who did all the things that had been lacking on my first visit as far as explaining the store, and was very friendly besides. She also pointed out useful information such as the different steeping times and temperatures on the bags (which will affect the flavor of how the tea "blooms"; I knew this, but she said that many people are surprised to learn it. In any case, it's good that she pointed it out, as it might go unread on the bag.) My boyfriend and I roamed around, sniffed various canisters of tea, admired the styles of teapots and glasses, and finally bought a few varieties (white peach and honeybush apricot). I'm sure we will enjoy them as the weather gets colder, and now that I've had a better experience, I'm sure I will enjoy Adagio again as well. HOLY CRAP. I was downtown Naperville with my parents and I had wanted tea after our Hugo's dine-in. I went to one if the three downtown Starbucks locations only to find it complete with a line of 20 people. I said forget it and we headed across the street to Adagio Tea. I had expected it to be a mix between a Starbucks & an Argo Tea, but it was more like a Teavana, but with drink service! I could have screamed when I walked in...Did I? I am a tea fanatic and was enthused when I saw all the tea lined up along the walls allowing you to hold them up, look at the leaves, and best of all, smell them. Teavana allows you to smell them, but you are smelling them from the bin that people purchase from. PEOPLE ARE STEALING YOUR TEA FLAVOUR WITH THEIR NOSES! Okay, so they aren't, but I'm not fond of the idea. Plus, it's kind of like being that jerk at the ice cream store, "Can I smell this one? Okay, now this one...No, that one again..." My parents know I'm all about tea adoration and kind of joined in on my enthusiasm by asking the guy who worked there, Jordan, endless questions. However, he handled it like a pro and got my parents what they needed. That is the kind of job I need. Damnit, Naperville, you WOULD put in a tea shop as soon as I leave. I love sharing the wonders of tea and I think people who don't like tea, are not drinking the right kind...go here, you will find your kind. I believe if you ask for a free demonstration, you receive a tea on the house... The selection of teas is stellar and they have seasonally flavoured teas that I hope stick around for more than just their dedicated season. I ended up getting CocoMint Green, which is a fantastic dessert tea as well as a great tea to wake up with. The prices are so solid. A huge bag of loose leaf for $6, it will easily last 35+ cups. I cannot wait to go back here. Definitely try it out if you're tea experienced or have never seen loose leaf tea in the flesh! read more

This review reflects my experience for the Groupon Tea Tasting. These five stars are fully deserved. The decision to purchase the $32 Groupon for a tea tasting for 4 was purely an impulse buy, but luckily it was an impulse buy I do not regret. Originally, the deal included 3 tea tastes and 4 teapots to accommodate the 4 tea tasters. Unfortunately, I was lacking 2 friends but the Adagio was happy to provide an adjustment and offer us the opportunity to taste one extra tea and still take home 4 teapot/tea cups. I am not an avid tea drinker, but I do prefer unsweetened tea over most beverages. The lady who provided the tasting was very knowledgeable on this subject. After this tea tasting, I now know a bunch of random facts about the tea I drink. I mostly realized that I have been drinking really cruddy tea all my life. She even let us try an additional flavor of tea on top of the 4 originally provided. The complimentary teapots and teacups was the perfect souvenir. I am going to look so sofisticated with my shiny new tea set. read more
