The latest project was on a smaller scale but he tackled it with the same enthusiasm as the bigger projects. This project was a 9' wall that he installed shiplap on as well as a 6' floating shelf. More than five stars!…read more Succinctly, we met with three or four companies to get an estimate all of whom were pleasant but, somehow, did not seem as though they were listening to what we wanted. It was different with Ammar of Kitchen Cabinet Express, Inc. After a brief introduction and a short discussion of our intentions, he got right to the point, walking with my wife, measuring and making notes and asking questions. What resulted was a reasonable estimate for the work to be done and a plan and drawings that exactly reflected our wishes. The deadline for completion was originally set for the middle of March 2026 but was completed two weeks early. Members of Ammar's team and contractors were professional, conscientious, and hard working. They showed up on time, accomplished what was scheduled for each day. As work progressed, we desired some minor changes which Ammar and his team were very flexible and responsive in accomplishing professionally and quickly. At every point - daily work and especially at the conclusion - the site was cleaned up immaculately and all detritus was hauled away instantly. Also, a great deal of care was taken to mask, cover, and protect the house, furniture, and existing fixtures from the dust and soiling that was occasioned by the remodeling work! This review is being written a month after completion as we wanted to take our time to let the "newness" wear off and appraise the overall experience. After this time for evaluation, we find the craftsmanship flawless, the cabinets and showers and baths installed beautifully and -- overall -- the incorporation into our existing home has greatly upgraded the whole affair. They were "yes people" -- agreeable on everything but never once offered guidance or pushed back when our ideas weren't practical. We needed a real partner, and that's exactly what we found here. Ammar was exceptional. He's a true expert and adviser who wasn't afraid to be honest with us. When some of our ideas weren't the most functional, he told us so -- and immediately came back with multiple alternatives that helped us land on a design that was both sleek and practical. One of the best decisions he guided us toward was using two different cabinet colors -- light gray for the perimeter cabinets and a warm dark wood for the island. We got lucky. As part of a whole house remodel, we elected to have Haynes Cabinetry change out our…read morekitchen and bathroom cabinetry. We spent a huge amount of time and effort, researching different cabinetry companies in order to find the right match for us. It became clear as we researched that there is a big dividing line within the cabinetry industry. Most typically there are guys who have table saws, and tape measures and they proceed to chop up wood and nail it together. However, a more recent development in the cabinetry business is what we were looking for. The most advanced companies come out, take measurements of the room and then design the cabinetry on a three dimensional computer system. This provides a way of essentially seeing what you're going to create before you even make one bit of sawdust. Once an optimized design is finalized, the wood parts are cut up and drilled by computer controlled machines, that very precisely control the dimensions of the wood parts to within only a few thousands of an inch. At that point the wood panels are simply put together with very little effort and essentially no corrective measures being needed. The result is a cabinet assembly that comes out essentially perfect. All drawers are precisely in line, everything fits pretty much perfectly. And this is how Haynes cabinetry operates. Along with Haynes, using the most advanced methods of creating cabinetry, throughout our project, they continually displayed a most proactive approach to dealing with us. At no point during the project, did we ever have to ask to have something done a second time. Everything we asked was taken care of, and taken care of with a smile. It was as if we were having friends that we've known for years come over and perform this work, they were amazing! Looking back at our home remodel, it is clear that Haynes cabinetry led the pack with regards to comparing them with the other contractors that we had involved in our project. Buyer Beware. We hired Cabinet Wholesalers for a bathroom…read moreremodel that resulted in serious defects, including plumbing leaks, water damage, mold, tile failure, and cracked shower walls. Independent licensed professionals determined the shower installation failed systemically and had to be fully demolished and rebuilt. While partial reimbursement was provided for initial mold remediation and limited tile repair, Cabinet Wholesalers ultimately refused to honor the warranty and pay the full cost of correction unless we agreed to use their crew to perform the repairs--a condition that was not stated anywhere in the contract, despite the extensive prior failures. As a result, we were forced to file a complaint with the CSLB and pursue a contractor bond claim. This was an extremely stressful and costly experience. Proceed with caution.
