Do not buy guns or ammo from these guys. They don't follow DOJ or FFL guidelines. They make their own rules and requirements, despite of the laws. I had a DL not showing my current address, the law is you're able to provide any government issues license with your current address. He denied me for the ammo and stated, "i need to see something from the DMV with your current address" I followed up with the current laws and requirements while mentioning that there are no signs or information posted on the store. He replied "we sell to a lot of law enforcement so our rules are different". Knowing that their procedures are different from what the LAW says, any establishment spelling fire arms and ammo have to follow the FFL and DOJ guidelines. He pretty much told me they were special and different because they sell guns and ammo to law enforcement. Rude and unprofessional. read more

Been to many gun stores and this one is one of my favorites. First off keep in mind that you are shopping for guns, not skittles, so the staff has the duty to be serious and diligent dealing with customers. If you want the people waiting on you to be always cheerful and Clown-like, go to Mcdonalds or a Walmart. The guys here greeted me ok, and asked if I could be helped. I had a few questions and they were answered. I then proceeded with my purchase. There was some guy in there arguing about some lock for a gun, and I give props to the staff here for keeping their cool. I would've asked him to leave. He was speaking loudly and attempting to make a scene and embarrass the staff. I came in here again, this time to pick up my items and they weren't busy. I enjoyed chatting it up with the Adam and Wyatt. They were super cool and helpful. I can't imagine what working at a gun shop would be like, all kinds of "know it all" people walking in, but these guys were professional handling all walks of life. I gotta say that I'm impressed with Wyatt being as young as he is and so knowledgeable, but mostly how passionate he is and eager to help. Life's a sewer, you get out of it what you put in it!! UPDATE: My CA background check (unconstitutional infringement) passed after my purchase. I was on my way home from work. I called them and told them I was on my way, but probably couldn't make it by closing. Rich waited a few minutes for me so I could take my gun home. I wanted to go visit Adams armory today to check out their stuff so I checked yelp to find their hours. While on the site, I looked at their reviews and couldn't believe what I've read. So many people have left awful reviews calling these people racists, douches, condescending and who knows what else. As a Mexican-American, nothing can be further from the truth. My shopping experiences at this shop have always been positive. Its a small business so it's not rock bottom prices, but it's not crazy high either and I'd rather pay a little more to support small business. Anyway, I've always been treated politely and respectfully. They answer all my questions and never felt spoken down to. I've been in the store with my wife and she liked it, she never got a bad vibe. This one time, I visited the shop with my 7 year old son who was checking out the flash lights while I was talking to one of the workers about a gun I was interested in, another worker sees my son looking at the flash lights, walks over to him and gives him one of those lights. Man, my kids face shined brighter than the light he was given. This is the kind of customer service I get when I go. If you're a first time buyer, check them out. If you're not a noobie, check your ego at the door and conduct business like an adult. read more

The owner never heard of that and told me it would not make my AR CA legal. Went in again to try to get them to order a Marlin 1895 for me. He implied that I wasn't really going to buy it so he didn't want to deal with it. So I ordered it online and had it shipped to them to do the DROS and then he made fun of me for ordering a gun online. WTF? Don't care how close it is, never going back in there. read more

I wanted to get some new sights for my Glock. Adam spoke to me personally and gave me all the information on the trijicon sights so I could make a good decision on which ones to get. He didn't try to sell me on anything and just answered my questions. The knowledge that Adam has is Paramount and this is what made me feel at very ease to leave my gun with Adam to install the trijicon sights. I am very nervous to leave any of my firearms with anyone, as is the reason waiting 25 years to get this done. I will return to Adams Armory for all my gun needs from here on. I've read all of the negative reviews and I'm absolutely bewildered. Adam's Armory is a wonderful family owned gun store/full-service armory. Each time I've gone in, I've been treated with the utmost respect. What I truly appreciate is the ability to go in and browse as long as I desire without ever feeling pressured to buy anything. When you do ask a question, they're always helpful and responsive without making you feel like an idiot. I've been to other gun stores and dealt with arrogant sales people who made you feel stupid because of your interest in a particular firearm, or they've tried to push their "favorite" gun as the ultimate weapon in the universe. Well, that's never been the case at Adam's Armory. Some might argue they don't have a huge selection in comparison to larger, cooperate-owned guns stores. Who cares, they can order anything your little heart desires. Again, I've been to those larger gun stores and 90% of the time they don't have what I want and they have to order it. I also hate having to grab ticket stubs and waiting in line, sometimes up to an hour to get service at some of the larger gun stores. Thus far, I've purchased weapons through on-line distributors and had them mailed to Adam's Armory without any issues or attitude. They've also ordered weapons that were hard to locate and still gave me a great deal on the price. So I consider myself very fortunate to have Adam's Armory near my home where I can drop in whenever they're open to browse at more toys (i.e., guns) to purchase without my wife's knowledge. So if you're in the neighborhood, drop by and give them a visit, you won't be disappointed. read more

This store is Overpriced on their guns. I've called other local gun stores in Santa Clarita. I even called stores in Burbank. Adams armory prices their weapons atleast $100 + more. If you are law enforcement go to the new LAPG gun store. Those prices are unbeatable. If you are not guns direct in Burbank has better prices then this shop. read more

Purchased a new rifle, CZ 527 varmint .223 in late June and had it shipped to Adam's Armory for the FFL/DROS. All the staff were attentive and helpful throughout the process. It's a small, new shop that seems to specialize in certain popular weapon classes but understands the nature of the current gun business and will facilitate orders and transfers for items they don't stock or where it is not possible to be competitive. They kept it simple and straightforward. Most importantly, they did what they said they would do and offered excellent service from all three of the staff I encountered. I came here about a week ago. It was a rainy day and I even called prior to coming to see if they were open. A man answered the phone (Jason). Automatically gave an awkward response, as if it was a stupid question to ask if they are open. Most stores aren't even open because of the Covid-19, so totally disregarded that. When I got there, he didn't greet me, no smile, didn't even get up off his chair outside smoking a cigarette. There was just an awkward silence / stare down as if I was at the wrong place. Didn't check my ID but I had to give an explanation of what I was doing there. I came inside and the awkwardness just intensified. He made me feel like I was truly in the wrong place. I was very unwelcome and every question I asked was patronized. I don't know if it was the color of my skin because I'm Hispanic, and you guys are white, but this is the worst experience I've ever had at my first gun store. Thank you for that. The shop doesn't know the law regarding AR platform magazine locks, also known as bullet buttons. They argued that Raddlock brand of mag locks isn't approved by the California Department of Justice...which is true, because the DOJ hasn't approved ANY mag lock device. It seems that they took a statement from Raddlock's web site that stated, "Raddlock Lock Kit has Not been approved by CA DOJ!", and interpreted that as law, so they denied to do a private party transfer. (The Raddlock does meet the requirements of Penal Code 12276.1 (a), with regard to removable magazines.) Adams was quick to offer up a Bullet-Button brand of mag lock, and the tool to install it, for $30. Guess what..it isn't on the CA DOJ approval list either... read more

I tried this shop based on locality and the good reviews on Yelp ... I didn't mind too much about the few bad reviews and wanted to give it a try myself. Soon I made my first two handgun purchases from here in consecutive months, thanks to Wyatt who was really helpful on both transactions. Onto my 3rd pursuit which was a custom Nighthawk 1911 where I deposited money and had it on layaway with the help of Wyatt. Man these guys are on a roll with me! Came in today to start the DROS paperwork, but was displeased and disappointed with the service that I received from Rich. Wyatt, Adam, where were you guys? It was a build up of things on this visit that made me decide to do future business elsewhere: I was the second customer in the shop. Rich, the only person working, was handling the first. He sees me, no greet, no problem, whatever it's gun shop, I get it); 3rd customer comes in the door and immediately gets Rich's attention and help ... I got skipped, whatever. Finally, he asked how he could help. I told him I had a handgun on layaway and ready for DROS. I started mentioning to him that starting MSRP was $3,295 on Nighthawk's website ... and immediately before I could finish I started to see the attitude and body gesture from him which came out like "yea ... and ... so what?" ... I asked why they were selling it for $100 more ... just a curious customer question. I'm thinking maybe it has an additional custom component or something unique beyond factory setup, but his snippy response was "we sell it for whatever we want to sell it for". Wowsers. After that, I immediately asked for my money back, which he refunded via check with no hassle (thank you!). I told him that I'll find it somewhere else for the right price as an excuse to get my money back, which he sneered back with a "good luck if you can find one". Jeez, I don't think he understood the real reason why I wanted my money back. At that moment, I honestly did not care if that was the last one-of-a-kind magical 1911 left on this planet for whatever price I could get it for. Haven't they heard? I see in one review posted in July 2018 a comment of "Communication is a two way street so the people leaving bad reviews for them must be impatient or incompetent." Let me make this clear, I have worked in the customer service industry for many, many years - I recognize good and bad customer service and acknowledge (quite willingly) good customer service. I also am very tolerant of many different personality facets as I realize that I do not know what life troubles that a particular person is dealing with that could make them grumpy or even rude. That being said, I went to Adam's Armory (one of three places I explored in Santa Clarita) when shopping for my firearm. Rich was very knowledgeable and patient with me in answering all my questions. I felt that he delivered the best interest in my sale overall so I purchased my firearm through his shop. Brought my firearm home only to discover that there were some scratch marks on the slide that shouldn't have been there with a brand new firearm. I brought my gun back into his shop and queried him on the damage to which he said that this isn't the way that I received my firearm. I understand that this is certainly a he said/she said situation and even though I knew 100% that this didn't happen in my care I knew that I could never prove that to him. My mistake for not making a closer inspection of the overall piece before bringing it home. Rich offered to Cerakote my firearm for me at his labor cost only in an effort to "fix" the problem. I agreed and waited patiently for about 8 months for his Cerakote shop to be set up and open for business. Brought my firearm in for Cerakote and pointed out the additional scratch marks that had come out in the same area of the original complaint to which Rich replied that this had to be a manufacturer defect. WHAT? Why in the world did he not acknowledge this in the beginning and just send my gun back to Smith & Wesson??? I order the Cerakote, get quoted 4-7 days to get my gun back and 2 weeks later I am notified that my gun is ready for pick up. I pick up my firearm from Rich and take a good look at it (lesson learned from 1st pick up experience) only to find that the Cerakote did not properly take on the magazine release button. I addressed this with Rich and he said that it "couldn't be fixed" (because the gun would have to be completely disassembled to correct the problem - his response when I asked why it couldn't be fixed). Rich was done with my job and didn't want to make sure the job was done right. I left as I had felt that I lacked power of argument when he was only charging me labor for the work. I was wrong - the job should have been done right, reviewed by him before contacting the customer for pick up and then returned back to the Cerakote shop if it was done improperly. THAT would have been the right thing to do. My husband called Rich to talk to him about my experience and he told my husband that if I had a problem with it that I should address with him and then hung up on my husband. Another WHAT??? That is what I did while down there picking up my gun. This guy is nuts!!! Now, I am doing what I think (scratch that - I KNOW) is the right thing to do and that is to warn anyone considering doing business here. Watch out as the facade will look ok but the real thing is a total hoax!!! The staff (all family) are very dry . . . not just in personality but in general good manners (rude, at the very least), kindness and spirit. "Competent"? Yes, I am. read more
