The waist was way too tight, digging into my sides and making the whole line of the dress extremely unflattering. Tatiana was able to essentially remake my dress so that it fit my body and actually looked good! She moved the waistline to the correct spot for my natural waist (after two other tailors had told us this was impossible), and completely hid the attachment line. She reshaped the sweetheart neckline and figured out how to add the satin short sleeve I was wanting so that it looked like it was an original part of the dress! (the dress was originally strapless). She also applied all the lace detailing to the sleeve and through the bodice. This was an extremely complicated alteration and Tatiana truly saved the day - for a very reasonable price! Rather than accepting every project, she carefully evaluated each dress and agreed to work on only two. She explained that while the other two dresses could technically be altered, the fabric and fit would make it difficult to achieve a result that met her quality standards. I greatly appreciated her honesty and professionalism. Many businesses would have accepted all four dresses, but Tina was focused on delivering work she could confidently stand behind. Her transparency and commitment to quality immediately gave me confidence in her expertise. During my first visit to Tina, I brought both my dresses to try on to assess the alterations that I needed done (mostly hemming). She provided a quote at that time, and stated that payment could be made at pick-up. I found her pricing to be very reasonable given the complexity of the dresses (material and multiple layers). The two dresses she altered turned out beautifully. The craftsmanship was excellent, and the fit was exactly what I wanted. The turnaround time was about two weeks from drop-off to pickup, which I found very reasonable (especially since I had told Tina there was no rush). She clearly takes pride in her work and pays close attention to the details that make a difference. One thing to note is that English is her second language and Mandarin is her first, so there can be a bit of a language barrier. If you speak Mandarin, communication will likely be even smoother. That said, I found Tina to be thoughtful, professional, and genuinely committed to achieving the best possible result for her clients. Mrs. Almasi, the owner of the shop, was very knowledgable of not only how to tailor the suit just right, but she also knew about the latest styles and looks that would bring my suit up-to-date. Once I picked up the suit, I found a garment that was stunningly updated and beautiful. This place is a family business, and it really feels like it. Every time I walk in, Mrs. Almasi knows exactly my measurements, my tastes in style, etc. Plus, you get a lot of great quality work, service and care for the prices you pay here. Oh, and did I mention that the shop practices green cleaning? That definitely makes me feel better each time I bring something in to get washed.

I was told it would cost more for the jeans but that they'd be able to repair them. When I got the jeans back, there was a giant white spot where the tear used to be. It happens to be in the groin area, so they're basically unwearable now. I went back in to see if there was anything they could do to fix them or redo the repair. The woman said there was nothing they could do. I politely asked if I could get a refund for just the jeans, since they're unwearable now. She said she couldn't, because the tear was repaired. If I'd known the repair would leave them unwearable, I never would have paid the extra cost for jeans. Save your money and your clothes and go somewhere else for sewing.

I did some research for other dry cleaners that offered cleaning & preservation but Mulberry's just ended up being the best option for me in terms of pricing & location. The drop off process went smoothly and I was told that the dress won't be ready for pick up until May so I kind of just forgot about it. Of course there were still some worries especially since this is such a sentimental piece of garment that I'm having cleaned & preserved. I received a notification this week that my dress was ready for pick up so was pleasantly surprised by how quickly they finished. For a flat rate of $500 for cleaning & preservation, I thought it was a pretty good deal. My dress was beautifully packaged & the garment bag I dropped it off in was also returned back to me.
